Categories Comments Great for these types of students All types! I've met kids from freshman orientation who are sporty, scientific, mathematical, and musical. It's fit for all types of students.
Tips for prospective students Go visit the campus! Your deciding moment will be to walk on that campus. Then sign up for Freshman Orientation, they will then tell you all you need to know and get you signed up for classes right then and there and tell you how to do it in the future.
Bang for the buck Might I say, that you are going to get the best teaching out of this school. They have fantastic professors who (at Freshman Orientation) give you their phone numbers and e-mails so that you can talk with them and settle any problems you may be having.
Will enjoy being here They have two different kinds of housing for different kinds of people. What ever your needs are, they have the housing for it and they have payment plans. If you have any questions, the housing staff are always ready to answer your questions.
Will learn a lot The teachers and ambassadors know what they are talking about. I've never been in a place where everyone knows everything about how to survive. No one has been left in the dark.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Weber is great for all sorts of people. I've seen high school kids and 60+ year olds in my classes. The majority of people on campus are commuters, but they do have on-campus housing options. Weber is great for those who want to learn but don't have a lot to spend. It is definitely not a party school, though; no drugs and alcohol allowed on campus, and you will actually learn something.
Tips for prospective students Get involved. It's the only way to have fun. They have a club for EVERYTHING. From ballroom to anime to martial arts and beyond, there's nothing that can't entertain you on campus. Also, get to know your professors. I recommend dropping by their offices in the first three weeks of class, at least those you plan to work hard for. They're bored during that time anyways, and it'll make you stand out to go say hello and try to get a feel for their class.
Bang for the buck Weber is amazing at the price. Being a public school, tuition is only about $5,000 a year. For that, you get classes, access to the three-story library and computer terminals all over campus, a free UTA bus pass good for bus, Frontrunner, TRAX, and anything else UTA, access to the school shuttle, and all of the rockin' activities the school offers. I don't know how they do so much on such funds, but Weber definitely packs a powerful bang for your buck.
Am enjoying being here They have a TON of on campus activities, including dances, parties, a bowling alley, pool hall, movie theater, plays, bands, and countless other performances. Not only that, but the people are really nice. They're quiet at the beginning of the semester, focusing on their studies. But once everyone gets into the swing of things, you can constantly find people scattered around campus just relaxing and chatting.
Am learning a lot Unlike a lot of the big name universities, the teachers are actually here, teaching the courses--not some student teacher. They care about their subjects with a passion, which is why they do it. That passion transfers to the students. I never dreamed I would learn as much as I have at Weber, and I am forever indebted to the teachers here.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck I looked over the in-state and out-of-state tuition for Weber I added the totals up for 1 year and then multiplied it by 4 to see what my total cost would be and it was cheaper than the others schools i was loking at. (when adding up the tuition cost i used the highest amount that they say might be charged)
Will enjoy being here I know I will enjoy being at Weber because I have been to the campus several times before, and the campus is beautiful.
Will learn a lot I am hoping I will learn a lot at Weber because when I went on ratemyprofessors.com I read excellent reviews on my possible professors for my major!

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Weber State is one of the most inexpensive schools both in Utah and nationwide, but the quality of living is still very great.
What to do for fun There are always games, dances, and activities that are posted all over the campus that any student can attend.
Food and Dining I don't have a meal plan through Weber State University.
Dorm Life I didn't live on campus, but all of my friends that did really loved it. Weber State just installed a new dorm building so the quality is very nice.
Academic Rigor In my experience, all of my teachers hold a very high standard to each of their students. Most teachers require at least a 93% for an A with a majority of the grade being based on tests alone.
Tips for prospective students For anyone that is looking at becoming a student at Weber State University, I highly recommend it. The class sizes and cost make the college a great choice.
In three sentences Weber State is a decent school with great class sizes and likable teachers. In my experience, the teachers are personable enough to work with students and the small class sizes make that possible. Although the school is inexpensive, I wouldn't rate my education as cheap because the quality of my learning experience has been above average.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students There are many international/foreign exchange students who attend Weber State, and diversity is one of the most upheld values. Needless to say, it's a wide spectrum of Great for these types of students. But if you are looking for a fine mix between tight-knit classes and a medium-sized campus with something for everybody, then Weber State is for you. It's very inexpensive in comparison to other universities, so a tight-budget student will excel here. But Weber State is mainly known for two departments - nursing and drama. Nursing is the most popular degree on campus, and Weber State's drama department is award-winning. Prospective nurses, medical students and those interested in theater would do well at Weber State.
Tips for prospective students 1) Talk to people! I can't stress how much easier and better a class is when you have a friend with you the entire semester through. This isn't high school - you'll be going to class with people of all ages. Everybody is a lot nicer. 2) Get involved in at least one organization. You won't regret it. I joined the Chinese Club and I'm not even Chinese, and nonetheless I've had a great time and learned quite a bit about the culture. 3) Keep a planner. Weber State issues you one during orientation, and organization is a vital key to earning good grades. 4) Keep up in class! The professors rarely accept late work, and expect a lot more out of you than the high school teachers did. 5) Don't sweat it and be persistent. The first day of college can be scary, and getting a bad grade on an exam can be especially discouraging. My English professor once told me that 2/3rds of students don't go on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree. Do you have what it takes to be in the 1/3rd that do? You hold the ball.
Bang for the buck Full-time tuition at Weber State is more-or-less $1,900 a semester. The inexpensiveness of Weber State had a big part in my decision to enroll. It's well worth the money. I would've spent a lot more on my Associate's Degree had I gone somewhere else.
Am enjoying being here There seems to be a few activities going on every week. Weber State invests a lot of money in extracurricular endeavors, such as sports, clubs and parties. Football games are well advertised and well attended, and Weber State encourages school pride, as well as their school color (purple). You will have a lot of fun here if you are active and outgoing. There is a pool hall and a bowling ally, and my favorite feature is the massive gym with more equipment than I know what to do with. Weber State also has great physical fitness programs you can take part of, and a big climbing wall located inside the gym. Weber State also rents out student-discount sporting equipment of all kinds, including kayaks, mountain bikes and snowboards. You can also buy discount lift tickets to the local ski resorts. I have taken classes from some of the funniest but most intelligent professors. There are some hilarious students who attend Weber State as well. The drama and music department are very busy all year round performing on and off campus. All and all, Weber State invests a lot of money on making your experience as enjoyable as possible, and I've already had a lot more fun than I initially thought.
Am learning a lot Weber State is a prime example of the phrase You get out of it what you put into it. How much you learn depends on how hard you are willing to work and study while attending Weber State. There are certain classes that I've passed without studying much at all, and didn't learn anything due to the easiness of the class. I've learned much more from other classes that took up nearly of all of my concentration to scrape by with a decent grade. But all and all, you can learn as much as you please, but a lot of it depends on how hard you are willing to work rather than which professors you choose. Weber State has a large library that rents out DVDs and videos to take advantage of. Most of the professors want you to pass the class and succeed, but cannot make you learn a lot if you're not willing to study. I feel that I've learned more in a single year at Weber State than I did in all of high school put together.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck Weber is probably the most affordable school around. It lets basically everyone in and gives thousands of scholarships out every year! They also work with you and let you know what's out there. There are ways to get a percentage off of tuition as well! Clubs, index scores, GPA, and more will help pay for your tuition!
Am enjoying being here I love the way the school is set up and the whole environment. It's a beautiful campus and I love going to Weber. I currently live at home and I was given a free bus pass from Weber so I ride the buses for free to and from Weber. They also have a front runner that can take students from other cities to Ogden and they have a bus that will run them straight up to Weber State University. It's just a very convenient school for everyone.
Am learning a lot I love the teachers here! They really try and reach out to the students and help them with what they need and beyond. By them caring and helping me out with problems or questions I have, I have learned a lot more than I expected I would. It's easy to email the teacher as all of your teachers emails are given to you. It's easy to know what assignments are due because the teachers are very clear and they give you an organized syllabus.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students It's a great school for anyone and everyone. There are many different classes and clubs, you can even make your own clubs. There are lots of things you can do.
Tips for prospective students Visit campus and find where your classes will be before the semester starts so you don't get lost your first week. Also, finding parking during the semester is very difficult and you need a parking permit. You can get a free UTA Bus Pass with your Wildcard and I found taking the bus to be much more convenient than driving. Also, there are lots of hills and stairs, so be prepared for that.
Bang for the buck When you get accepted to Weber, they automatically sign you up for any academic scholarships you qualify for. I got a scholarship that paid for half of my tuition. I also filled out FAFSA and got a pell grant that paid for the other half of tuition.
Am enjoying being here I really enjoy my classes and the people in them. I also enjoy walking around the campus on nice days and sometimes feed the ducks at the pond. When I first started school here, I knew very few people here, but now I've made friends and see more people I know.
Am learning a lot I really learn a lot in my classes. The teachers teach at a rate that everyone can keep up with, and they teach the material in a way that is easy to understand. If anyone has questions, they can feel free to ask the teachers.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Looking for affordability and fun while being able to create and develop your lifestyle? Come to Weber and learn about yourself while developing usable life skills!
Tips for prospective students Be prepared and willing to work hard and you'll do great! I love WSU!
Bang for the buck As my hometown University, it's kind of always been decided where I will go to school. I have explored other options, but I always come back to the affordability and ease of Weber State.
Am enjoying being here I've grown up doing things on campus and experiencing Weber State as a University. I have loved it since I was little, and my love has only grown over the years as I have learned what Weber can offer!
Am learning a lot I have been taking Concurrent Enrollment classes through my high school from Weber State. My Instructor has been knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant to work with. I will take the skills learned from these classes and apply them in my life!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I think that there is something for everyone at Weber. It's great for people that are looking for a more personal one-on-one educational experience in the classroom.
Tips for prospective students Look for opportunities to get involved! This is a great way to meet people and to enrich your experience at Weber State. Find something you are interested in and go for it!
Bang for the buck I feel like the student fees and tuition seem to go a long way. Each student gets an Ed pass with their enrollment. This pass allows them to travel on the public transportation system (UTA) for free. I have used that a ton. The computer labs at the school are very up to date and are very convenient. There are quite a few activities that go on at the school that are free because of student fees. The buildings that the classrooms are in are really nice and well kept. The campus is beautiful. The education itself is really great! I have learned a lot here. I would say that you do get a bang for your buck.
Am enjoying being here The campus is fantastic! It really is a beautiful place with a lot of cool things to do and see. There is something for everyone! Weber has teams and clubs for all interests. It also has a lot of cool classes. Last semester, I took a jogging class and a rock climbing class. I had a blast, learned a lot, and made a lot of new friends!
Am learning a lot I absolutely love my classes at Weber State. I have learned so much in the three semesters that I have been here. The class sizes are perfect! I feel like everyone gets the one-on-one time that they need in order to do well in the class. All of my professors know me by name and I feel very comfortable asking them questions. It is definitely a great learning environment.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Emergency buttons are always present next to the buildings, and the lighting is good when you have classes early in the morning, and at night as well.
What to do for fun I recommend sporting events (especially Basketball and Football), which are free if you are a student, with a good time had by all. If you are into the arts, then I suggest attending the theatrical performances put on by the students: they work very hard and do a good job.
Food and Dining Friendly employees make sure the food is served quickly, and I have nearly always been satisfied when I have ate here.
Dorm Life While I do not live in the dorms, I have talked with individuals who do. They appear to enjoy themselves, and are greatly for the opportunities Weber State has to offer.
Academic Rigor A lot of studying will need to be done to do well on tests (up to 10 or more hours). If you struggle in a particular subject, I strongly recommend outside help, or you will fall behind quickly.
Tips for prospective students Arrive to class early: students are usually there 15 minutes before the start of class.
In three sentences This is an excellent school: the teachers are willing to meet with you outside of class time to answer any questions you have related to their subjects. Students are willing to help one another out, which makes class time more pleasant. Everyone on campus is willing to help you if you are lost, which reduces any freshman's worries significantly.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Always park on main street, and check behind me often because my classes are in evening.
Greek Life There is a greek place off campus to right.
Clubs and Activities Bowling and Billards.
Great for these types of students The fun and mind strength
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Cinco de Mayo traditions at school.
Bang for the buck I am frugal of how I spend money, beacause I have been tought that way.
What to do for fun They have a billards and bowling alley and a bunch of new activitys to get into.
Food and Dining The food looks so good at Weber State. I pack me a snack often, a fruit and a lot of water. The area seems friendly and very tasty. I think they have a their own broiler and grill also, so I've heard.
Dorm Life I live off campus, however would be nice to live in a dorm. All the exciting places people and college life is awesome. I have 2 kids and live in low income. I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love my baby's and enjoy being a mom. I am a little jealous tho, because they were smart enough not to have children.
Academic Rigor I enjoy computers and am facinated how they work and am amazed by the programs available. My academic Rigor is to suceed in what I do. I am goal oriented and will strive hard to accomplish my goals. I was on the honor roll as a middle schooler, made my mother very proud.
Tips for prospective students Research ! Research ! Research ! I came in head first. I should have noticed more what was going on. I figured if I had all my verifications, forms, applications, and deadlines met, it would be smooth sailing Boy! was I wrong. I am currently going to class with no books because I cant afford them. My financial aid will not be released for two weeks and I am sad. I will only get back around 300 dollars and my books cost a total of 268. Wow ! so trying to apply for these scholarships as a single mother of 2 and work 6-8 hours a week as a janitor is not the business. so research ! research! research!
In three sentences WeberState University seems like an okay school, for it was my third day yesterday. It has a long uphill incline which makes me sweat like crazy because its on the side of the mountain. I can not park like the cool students in front, the simple reason being, I cannot afford the sixty dollar parking pass. This is my freshman year and seems very exciting. I feel very accomplished in all the things I had to do to get here. I rate it an eight of a ten scale. The school mascot is a wildcat and the colors are purple and white. I have seen a diversity in students and seems like my style. I wasn't aware and am very astonished in how much books and tuition cost. As a single mother of two this is going to be very interesting, but I have the desire to complete!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Those who don't mind a commute, non-trads, students who are looking for a good education at a reasonable price.
Tips for prospective students Simply apply. Weber State has a pretty high acceptance rate.
Bang for the buck Weber State is a very good deal. The education is excellent, and the price is low.
Am enjoying being here While there are plenty of social activities, I don't feel over-pressured to participate in them, which is very important to me.
Am learning a lot Weber State has plenty of small classes, which enables you to have a more direct learning experience.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students I think Weber State has a lot of diversity on campus. I also think that Weber State seems to be open minded to other groups and organizations.
Tips for prospective students I think it's important to get to know people in your classes. I think it's also important to be organized and on time.
Bang for the buck Weber State is pretty inexpensive compared to a lot of other schools. The majority of students commute to school and it tends to save them money by using their free bus pass through Weber State. Or by commuting with friends.
Am enjoying being here There are a lot of different degrees that are available which helps those who come to see what is out there.
Am learning a lot So far, I have only been taking general classes and they have been really informational. I learn so much in these classes because of the variety and I really enjoy it.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Anybody!
Tips for prospective students Come see if it's for you beforehand! I thought I would be bummed because I have to commute up to school, but it really is fine living at home. You can still get involved no matter where you live! Anywhere you go though, get involved. College is so much better if you are.
Bang for the buck I feel like the tuition is a good price, especially for being an undergrad. A lot of people want to go to bigger and better schools, but there really is no reason to at first. Weber offers just as good of classes as the U does. It's just personal preference if you want to pay more or not.
Am enjoying being here They really have the most clubs ever. If you like something, they probably have a club for it. Get involved!
Am learning a lot The professors are great and always helpful. A lot of the class you get out what you put into them. Study, and you'll be fine.

Categories Comments Campus Safety i always feel safe on campus!
Greek Life only one sorority and one fraternity. not well represented, but that's fine because i'm not involved in the greek system.
Clubs and Activities there are a lot of school-sponsored activities, but not a lot of promotion for the clubs and stuff.
Great for these types of students all types of students! commuter students, out-of-state students, everyone!!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there are a lot of lounges- places with couches and comfy chairs that you can study, or just relax in.
Bang for the buck wsu is great. cheaper tuition, great campus, a lot of newer buildings, not too crowded, and classroom sizes are fairly smaller than most other universities so you really get to know your classmates, as well as the professor. i feel like i am getting my money's worth- and more.
What to do for fun bowling, billiards, football and basketball games, many social dances and fun concerts.
Food and Dining there isn't a lot of variety, but what they do have is good. there is a university grill-type place that serves hamburgers and stuff, and there is also a hogi yogi/teriyaki stix.
Dorm Life campus life is wonderful. i highly recommend university village. great atmosphere, nice apartment style dorms, and right across the street from free shuttle transportation to and from school! so you won't have to spend much money on gas.
Academic Rigor it depends on the classes you take, but i would say some classes are harder than others. that's an obvious statement there, but it's true. it's useful to check ratemyprofessor.com before you sign up for classes to make sure you have challenging, yet knowledgeable professors that teach great classes.
Tips for prospective students apply for scholarships early. not like you'll have a problem getting them anyways, but it's good to get applications done early than to forget them.
In three sentences weber state is a great school. i love the diversity here. i have made so many wonderful friends as well!

Categories Comments Campus Safety They have a new thing called the purple code which will send a text message and email right to your phone if there is any kind of emergency on campus. They used it once last year when we had a terrible wind storm. They informed all the students to stay inside and cancelled all classes. It was very effective.
Great for these types of students This university is great for the student that want an amazing college experience and a great hands on education.
Bang for the buck Weber State is very well priced. I can't believe that I can get an amazing education on the price they charge. Also, you get access to the gym, pool, bowling alley, and a UTA bus pass which allows you to ride the Frontrunner to salt lake city for free!
What to do for fun The different clubs and student groups are always holding fun get-togethers. At the beginning of each semester they have a foam party. The foam party a stomp with the whole area covered in foam bubbles. It's pretty fantastic!
Food and Dining The Union has a lot of options for food. Anything you might want they serve and it taste like real food.
Dorm Life We are getting new dorms in the summer of 2012!!!
Academic Rigor The workload is acceptable and bearable.
Tips for prospective students Watch out for the math department especially if you are in lower division math.
In three sentences I love the student involvement here. It is a wonderful university! I am always excited to see what will be going on each week.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Great! Weber is well lit and well patrolled by campus security. They also have little emergency posts (not sure what the actual name for these are), all over campus on the off chance that something happens when you walk alone. You hit a button and it immediately calls the authority's.
Great for these types of students Self motivated and hard working. I would also recommend it for student athletes. Weber State is committed to getting you a degree first and foremost, and then to helping you with your sport. They really have a lot of programs in place to help you get to where you need to be and get your schoolwork done.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Two words: stairs and hills. You will get some exercise when walking around campus.
Bang for the buck Regardless of whether you're an out-of-state student or an in-state student, Weber is cheap!
What to do for fun Weber is quite literally right up against the mountain so there are lots of trails and hiking paths. It also has skiing/snowboarding activities nearby as well. Shopping is pretty decent and Ogden isn't too far from Salt Lake City which is where most concerts and such are held. Weber usually has things going on during campus as well though.
Food and Dining Food is great on campus but I must admit I was a little disappointed with the food selection/options for the dorm. Breakfast isn't served and neither is lunch on the weekdays. (Weekends is a brunch from 11-2 I believe.) Also healthy options are fairly non-existent in the cafeteria. Where are the fruits and veggies? Where are the drink options other than soda and water?
Dorm Life I live in the newest dorm built that was just finished this summer. Weber is also in the process of building it's last new dorm currently and all on campus housing has been built/renovated in the last ten years. The rooms are pretty big and I was impressed with Weber's green initiative.
Academic Rigor Depends on the classes. My Nutrition class can be difficult on some days and there's a lot of extra studying in order to pass the tests, but I feel challenged without feeling like I'm drowning in schoolwork I don't understand. Be wary of the math however, because it can be a pain if you have to start at the bottom and work your way up.
Tips for prospective students Expect to get some exercise walking around the campus - Weber is very hilly and if you are a commuter student parking is a pain. If however, you live in the dorms, it's not bad at all. Also, make sure your math ACT is where it should be (I believe a 21 or 22) or do good on the accuplacer if you have to take it. Weber doesn't kid around with it's math if you have to start at the bottom (950) and make your way up.
In three sentences Weber State is really affordable, especially if you can get in-state tuition like I did. Even though I'm technically an out of state student, I was able to get the Weber Edge Scholarship which pays for the out-of-state portion of tuition (which also isn't bad), and now I have in-state tuition! I love it here and would recommend their hybrid classes, which allow you to get the same credit in half the time - my hybrid classes ends October 17 and I still get 3 credit hours!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Everyone!
Tips for prospective students Figure out where your classes are before the first day. Explore the campus - find the study spots (The third floor of Elizabeth Hall is wonderful). Take a fun class every semester whether its bowling, tap dancing, or art history. Having a class you are interested in keeps you motivated through the semester.
Bang for the buck The quality of education that I have here at Weber State is so much higher than my friends who attend other nearby colleges. The perks of being a student here are amazing. Bus passes, computer and software discounts, no matter what it is- its better at Weber!
Am enjoying being here My classmates are easy going, my professors are always ready to listen.
Am learning a lot I have loved every class I've taken. Each professor is interesting, easy to listen to and contact.

Academic Rigor Weber has many areas of study and we have excellent teachers that want to get to know you personally. I think this really helps with academics.

Categories Comments Food and Dining There are lots of on-campus dining options in their SUB, but prices are a bit, well, pricey.
Dorm Life I wasn't able to check it out...hence, the low score.
Academic Rigor I would say that the acedemic rigor at Weber is fairly up there...While it may not be the easiest, it's definately not the hardest either; but, that doesn't mean you won't have to work hard for your grades and your degree...you definatley will have to work hard!
Tips for prospective students Be sure to take a walk around campus before any classes start! It is a big campus! Also, be sure to check with your advisor(s) to see if your credits will transfer. Depending on your current school, Weber might accept most to all of them. Again, that depends upon the school you are currently attending.
In three sentences This is an absolutely beautiful school! Not only is it located at the foot of the mountains, but they also have a fairly large campus that offers many opportunites to all the students there. Their English program is especially comprehensive, and all undergraduate students have the chance to participate in the National Undergraduate Literature Conference, hosted by Weber State University each spring.

Categories Comments Campus Safety It seemed really safe whenever I was on campus.
Clubs and Activities There are some clubs, but there are not as many as I would like, and they are not all well publicized.
Great for these types of students If you're smart and want to graduate fast or if you are a non-traditional student and want more flexibility, it is a great school because there are a lot of options for speeding up graduation or for spreading it out and taking less classes at a time.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are a lot of family events, like movies for kids or easter egg hunts.
Bang for the buck Weber is really cheap and it's easy to get scholarships.
What to do for fun There is an athletic center and it has a pool and a rock climbing wall.
Food and Dining I've never seen any dining halls or anything. Maybe they have them in dorms, but I don't live in a dorm, so I don't really know.
Dorm Life I didn't live in a dorm, so I don't know.
Academic Rigor All the classes I've taken have been pretty easy - if you come to class and study for at least some time each week, you should do fine.
Tips for prospective students This school accepts a lot of AP credit, so that can be an easy way to speed up graduation.
In three sentences An okay school. Most of the classes I took were pretty easy. There isn't much of a community, though.

Clubs and Activities You name it, you can find it! If you come with a new club, they are easy to start!
Great for these types of students Weber State has great opportunities for traditional and non-traditional students. Anyone can come here and feel at home.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Parking is difficult to find. Most of campus is uphill, so wear good shoes to walk around in.
Bang for the buck You will get a great education at Weber State. Dollar for dollar, you get more from this university than any other in Utah.
What to do for fun Hiking, biking, swimming, movies, bowling, volleyball, soccer, football, you name it! Utah is a great place for recreation!
Food and Dining Sodexo caters at Weber State. They are wonderful and very friendly.
Dorm Life I live off campus, but dorm life is great from what I can tell.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very very safe. It is patrolled often by police and cops. Around the campus are emergency phones just in case something happens. Weber has a program going called Code Purple, which alerts every student, teacher, worker of an emergency situation that would cause harm or anything of that nature.
Clubs and Activities There is any and every kind of club that you could want here at Weber. If there isn't one that fits you, you can easily make one of your own with your friends.
What to do for fun Like I have said before there is always something going on at the campus. If you aren't into what is going on at the campus there are plenty of things to do off campus and not far away. Behind Weber is many trails to go hiking, golf course, and parks. There is a lake nearby to go swimming, or boating. Also a few ski resorts to go skiing or snowboarding and during the summer you can go mountain biking. For the thrill seekers we have skydiving or indoor skydiving, indoor surfing, and rock climbing. So whatever you are into you can for sure find it.
Food and Dining On campus they have a really good pizza place. Of campus they have everything that you would want, sushi, Greek, Indian, Italian, Chinese, and Thai.
Dorm Life I don't live in the dorms, so my konwledge is a little ristiricted. However I will still suggest to you that you get attive in the activities around campus. Join a club, do something so that you can get to know people. Be interesting by being interested.
Academic Rigor The teachers want to prepare you in your field of study, therefore they are going to give you the practice that you need in order to thrive in the job place. It gets pretty difficult even when you study. So if you are coming from a high school, be prepared to study and not be able to go out every night to party. This is a good school because it challenges you.
Tips for prospective students One tip I wish I had known before coming here is take chemistry somewhere else. I have to take 2 years of it for my major and frankly the chemistry teachers don't know how to teach. They know what they are teaching but as far as communicating it to you they are lacking. Another tip is take advantage of the free tutoring. It helped bump my grade up in one class from a B to an A.
In three sentences Weber is a great school. Has a lot of school events like dances, plays, concerts, and sporting events. Teachers are great, everyone I have had have been willing to help you understand what they are teaching.

Greek Life Ogden Greek Festival every October. Great food, great people, lots of fun and great opportunities for a multicultural experience.
Clubs and Activities Many different clubs, many options to choose from. I can guarantee you will find one that fits you.
Great for these types of students Liberal.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Foam Parties.
Bang for the buck The most affordable university in Utah. They don't drop classes due to non payments. More than 2 payments plan options for all students.
What to do for fun Hiking. 4-wheeling. Skydiving. LDS-Institute of Religion for Single Adults and married couples. Volleyball. Soccer. Basketball. Track. Swimming. Tennis.
Food and Dining Easy access to food places and great choices within campus.
Dorm Life I've never lived at the dorms, but my sister did. Excellent housing.
Academic Rigor Any dedicated student can find classes to be fairly easy. You can find more difficulties in different areas according to your preferences, but none of the impossible to overcome.
Tips for prospective students Weber State a a great place to start your education. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
In three sentences Easy access. Application process is fast. Friendly people, specially at the admission office. Renovated campus. Many multicultural and academic opportunities.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus safety is awesome. They have emergency towers all over the campus and if you don't feel safe leaving a class you can request a campus officer to walk you wherever you need every time you have that class.
Greek Life You don't really hear a lot about the Greek Life. If you're looking to get into sororities and fraternities this probably isn't the school for you.
Clubs and Activities There are as many clubs and activities as you can think of. You have a hobby? I guarantee there's a club out there for you. They are in abundance and so much fun.
Great for these types of students Great for any student who is coming into college with some credit from high school. Also an awesome school for students pursuing a career in Criminal Justice and Nursing. Most of all it is a great school for the students who are first starting college because it is a little more laid back, it is a good introductory school for the college life.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is not really unusual locations or traditions that I can think of..
Bang for the buck Definitely a good price for education. It is much cheaper then surrounding 4 year universities. It is definitely worth the money!
What to do for fun Their are so many activities going on all the time. From fairs and walk-throughs to intramural sports and recreational clubs there is always something to do at Weber.
Food and Dining They have so many options for food. Most of it is pretty good. You, as usual, come across the unsavory food, but only once in awhile. For the most part they have a good variety.
Dorm Life I never lived in the dorms but I heard they are pretty goo.
Academic Rigor Their classes definitely seem easier than I was told college was supposed to be. Maybe my teachers in high school just over prepared me. I would definitely get as far as you can going to Weber, Associates, Bachelors, whatever you can because their classes are easier and cheaper.
Tips for prospective students If you already have credits from high school definitely go to Weber. They take every college credit acquired in high school, unlike other universities. Their classes seem to be easier then other universities. The classes are small and student friendly.
In three sentences It's a great school for the price. It's really easy to get generals done. However, it's not necessarily a good school for higher degrees.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I have always felt safe on campus.
Greek Life The library is definitely geek heaven. Although I wish it was open later then eleven on week nights, the library has three floors with plenty of areas for quiet study, group study, and nice big computers.
Clubs and Activities I haven't gotten into a whole lot of clubs, but the handful of meetings for science and pre-professional type clubs that i have participated in have been really helpful, informative, and fun.
Great for these types of students Students that don't want get lost in classes of 300 students. Students that want to easily gain friendships and feel comfortable on campus.
Bang for the buck For the small classes that provide individual attention from professors, and opportunities to gain friendships and form study groups, I would say you definitely get the bang for your buck.
Food and Dining The student union building has a lot a good choices when it comes to food. Other than the normal burger and subway type options, the Wildcat room provides a really nice buffet type lunch with a nice, classy, and chef prepared meal option instead of the usual fast food option.
Academic Rigor I think that it depends on the courses you take and the effort you put into them. I personally have never worked so hard for an A in my life. I don't know much about other departments, but I do know that the science department does a good job at making sure you keep busy.
Tips for prospective students Apply for scholarships early!! Pick a major and get into your department so you can start forming relations.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Weber has a system called Code Purple which gets the word of emergencies out to students and their family members immediately via text, calls, and/or emails.
Clubs and Activities Weber has a great many clubs, and an even greater amount of activities to choose from, especially if you like outdoor activities or attending artistic events.
Great for these types of students WSU has had many famous business graduates including the CEO of Skull Candy (Skull Candy products are sold for discounted prices on campus!) so you can bet that the business college is excellent. Also known throughout not only Utah but the U.S. is Weber State's Theater program, so if you are a performer or work backstage, get involved at The Browning Center!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a funny tradition of becoming a True Wildcat by kissing your date for the entire twelve chimes of midnight from the iconic clock-tower on the night of Homecoming! Not too far from said clock-tower is a lovely pond and fountain where ducks and geese can be found swimming about.
Bang for the buck WSU is incredibly cheap compared to not only the National average, but Utah's average as well. Despite the low cost, it is known for it's excellence in education!
What to do for fun There are many fun things to do on campus, especially attending plays and concerts. Nearby campus is a large movie theater, a mall, and great mountain hiking trails.
Food and Dining There are very decent restaurants on campus, and even better ones very nearby.
Dorm Life Dorms are very near campus buildings, and are comfortable. Plus, you are matched with a roommate by a personality survey.
Academic Rigor Although you must work hard to maintain good grades, students are still able to have social lives and work jobs after school.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to explore the website. Plan as far in advance as you are able. Definitely attend orientation.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Excellent! Virtually no crime on campus, no violence, pathways are well lit, there are emergency phones all over if you ever need them and a great police force on campus.
Greek Life Probably a little more quiet than on other campuses, but still good.
Clubs and Activities To be honest, I don't take advantage of all the clubs on campus, but they have a good reputation. I do enjoy the activities though.
Great for these types of students All kinds! There are many non-traditional students here, and programs to fit all types of schedules, from the early bird to the night owl.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Bell Tower is at the heart of the main campus and is a great place to congrgate. Many outdoor concerts take place here.
Bang for the buck One of the least expensive universities in Utah, but definitely one of the best. Teachers here love working at WSU and their pride shows.
What to do for fun If you can think it, you can do it here. Great snow in the winter, and you can take snowboard or ski classes, great sun in the summer. Tons of fun things to do outdoor year round and a friendly place to meet others.
Food and Dining The usual university food. Some smaller stores. But the good thing is a lot of the local eateries (subway, taco bell, wingers, burger king etc) all let you use your campus meal plans to buy food at their resturants.
Dorm Life A variety of options, from single rooms, to condo type rooms. You forget you are living in a dorm here. Tons of extra-curricular activities to do on campus to keep you entertained.
Academic Rigor Here, you will work for the grades you get, but you will be so proud of what you acheive. Syllubuses give you all the information you need to get the A grade. Professors will help you suceed if you are struggling.
Tips for prospective students Take adavantage of all the programs to help you suceed at WSU. Take the First year Experience class. Make friends and bleed purple.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Code purple is Weber's emergency alert system. If there is a problem on campus code purple will send you a text, email and voice message to inform you of what is going on. Whether classes are being canceled or students are asked to remain indoors or avoid a certain area, students are quickly alerted to the emergency.
Greek Life If you are looking for a sorority or frat house Weber is not the place for you. There are a few houses but they are very small compared to what you see normally.
Clubs and Activities The first few weeks of school students are bombarded with club and activities tables set up all over campus. It is impossible not to get hooked into a group when there are so many choices and friendly people to meet.
Great for these types of students Weber is great for students who have many different interests. Classes cover a wide variety of programs and topics. The undecided student should definitely give Weber a try so they can explore different career choices without wasting time and money.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The schools bell tower stands tall over the campus. You can't help but notice it, especially at the turn of a new hour. It makes a great hang out spot and is so unique.
Bang for the buck I chose Weber because the cost of tuition was one of the lowest in the area and they offered me the most scholarship money. If you want a quality college for less money Weber is the best around.
What to do for fun Weber always has activities going on for students. The parties are great and tastey food is always served. Weber is also nearby several of Ogden's hot spots like the mall, 25th street and the Junction/Solomon Center. Other surrounding Universities also host great parties and are always welcoming when Weber students feel like stopping by. It is an awesome way to make new friends.
Food and Dining Weber has several food places on campus and a convenience store. They have really great fresh items to choose from so you are not stuck with ramen noodles all the time. The Lotza area is my favorite.
Dorm Life Weber has housing at University Village. I do not personally live in the dorms but the little community always looks great and is a safe place for college students to stay. Several options are available for housing.
Academic Rigor So far I have been doing general classes. Some have been great while others have been a bore fest. Most classes are lecture style with some quizzes and tests. I have really loved all my professors. They know what they are talking about and challenge students to do their best.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to take an intro to the University class. I learned great tips for studying and test taking as well as resources I can take advantage of. If you are nervous about college at all, this is a great way to settle in and make new friends.
In three sentences Weber state is great, great, great! I have always lived close by and never given Weber much credit. Now that I am attending, I've been happily surprised by the great campus, faculty and activities.

Dorm Life I didn't live in a dorm, so I cannot answer this question.
Academic Rigor This school is challenging. It is highly competitive to get into the Radiology Technology program here.
Tips for prospective students If you have a question, try researching the answer because if you email someone at the school for your answer they email you back with a stupid answer that doesn't usually answer your question.

Bang for the buck Weber State is one of the most affordable colleges in the state of Utah and in my opinion, you DEFINITELY get your money's worth. You get a great education, get to meet great people, and gain priceless life experience through their programs.
What to do for fun Weber State offers everything from swimming, to bowling, to basketball, to intramural sports leagues in lots of different sports. There is always a sporting event to go watch and students get in free. You can also play billiards, work out or play racquetball at the gym, or just walk around the beautiful campus and enjoy the views of the mountains and the Salt Lake Valley.
Food and Dining There are lots of great places to eat in the Union Building. There's even a Starbucks in the Art Building! Not only are there plenty of options to choose from on campus, there are lots of restaurants right across the street from campus as well.
Dorm Life I have not lived in the dorms, however, I feel I can give it a rating because I have lots of friends who live in the dorms at the UV. The rooms are nice and I know they enjoy living there and making new friends.
Academic Rigor I have yet to have a class at Weber State that hasn't tested me as a student, which has allowed me to learn at a greater capacity over the last 3 years.
Tips for prospective students If you register early, you can get into all the classes you want at the times you want them. It's worth staying up until midnight to be able to get your perfect schedule.
In three sentences Weber State University is an outstanding place to gain an education. Bang for the buck The cost of living in Utah is great! Weber State is affordable as a college and you can relax knowing there isn't much traffic. Classes are usually easy to get.
What to do for fun For the outdoor activist there is more than enough to do. Skiing, lakes, hiking, horseback riding. For the sports fan the only major team is the Utah Jazz. Of course there are movies, malls, and amusement parks. A word of caution...if you are coming from a large city this might be a shock for you. The pace of life is slow, often the mall, some pools and local features are closed on Sundays, but this is a great place for studying and getting your education. You can find things to do, but it might not be like home.
