Categories Comments Bang for the buck No matter what university or college a student is attending, there is always going to be a question about financial. However unlike Webster University, the university is spread out onto military bases and study aboard in Europe and Asia. In other words, it gives students an opportunity to travel and explore other cultures (study abroad) or have another shot of receiving an education while serving the American country.
Am learning a lot As being raised in the military while living overseas since I was ten years old, I was return to the USA right after graduation. Thankfully Webster had a study aboard college in London, UK, which had the only major I was interested in; Film Studies. There are many film companies in the city including the (British Broadcasting Company) BBC Studios and Pinewood Studios. My professors are British but they also had worked for these companies as well. They are very helpful and advise me which pathway is better for me to take for my film career.

Categories Comments Campus Safety incredibly safe. check out the crime statistics for webster, and you will see (especially compared to many other local universities) a low amount of crimes and virtually no sexual assaults.
Greek Life there is one sorority on campus.
Clubs and Activities there are multiple language and game clubs available. language clubsa re a great way to meet people that speak a language you are learning/ already know, and game clubs range from board games to video games to quidditch on the quad.
Great for these types of students conservatory and art students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus i like to walk near the lake every now and then. it's relaxing.
What to do for fun enjoy a play, party at the apartments, or enjoy the hot tub that is open year round. humans versus zombies is amazing every season.
Food and Dining few choices with on campus dining. there are many places to eat out nearby, including mcdonalds and subway.
Dorm Life little to no problems.
Academic Rigor classes can be challenging. use the library and free books to your advantage.
Tips for prospective students join a club and enjoy those around you. parking is hard to come by. the library has computers that are open pretty much 24/7.
In three sentences webster exudes an open atmosphere filled with people that are easy to get along with. the staff is friendly, and personable, and the education quality is top-knotch.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Business, Communications, and International Students
Tips for prospective students Get involved. No other way to put it. But also dont overload yourself.
Bang for the buck It could be a bit cheaper but its a private college so its expected.
Am enjoying being here Enjoying your time at Webster is somthing you will have to adjust to. It takes a long while and alot of hard work, but it will all pay off.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This is definitely a school for the nerds and the geeks. For the people who actually value getting an education.
Tips for prospective students Take notes, highlight books, do the homework. Keep notes and graded papers for finals and midterms, they will be helpful for that last week of crunch time.
Bang for the buck It is a pretty expensive school, but it's worth the good education you'd be getting and looks good on resumes. They also have pretty fun activities throughout the year for students..
Am enjoying being here Webster Groves is pretty out the way for me, but once I get there, there's usually some fun activity going on. There are plenty of clubs to join for just about every hobby, and if you can't find one, they're happy to help you make your own.
Am learning a lot The General Requirement for this school is like no other. Instead of the boring English 101 everyone takes, I took Play-writing. The small classes make it much easier to learn and get help on harder subjects.

Categories Comments Campus Safety there's public safety who drive around in their little cars making sure everyone's safe. i've never seen them actually save anyone because webster groves is not dangerous. they just ticket people a lot.
Greek Life there is one sorority, delta phi epsilon. i am in it and those girls are probably the fakest people i have ever met. i do not suggest joining.
Clubs and Activities there are quite a few clubs but none of them seem that exciting. i have gone to a few meetings here and there but none of them seemed that interesting.
Great for these types of students artsy, homosexual, hipster, unathletic
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there are many homosexual people. i have no problem with that but just a heads up. there's a lot more than any other school.
Bang for the buck webster is very expensive and the only reason i attend is because i have very good financial aid. i do not think it is worth the amount the tuition is.
What to do for fun there are events on campus every once and awhile to go to. athletics are not that exciting compared to other colleges.
Food and Dining marlettos is alright. they serve a lot of the same food all the time. the places in the uc are alright as well. it would be nice if they had more options and later dining hours.
Dorm Life i did not like my first roommate so i did not have a good experience. i did not enjoy living in a dorm. the one thing that was nice was the bathrooms in the suites.
Academic Rigor the classes are not necessarily very hard but you do need to go to class because many professors take attendance and as long as you do the work well you should be fine.
Tips for prospective students be open to new and different people or else you will not make many friends. try to get involved as much as you can so you can actually know everyone on campus even though you will know everyone because the campus is so small.
In three sentences it is a very diverse and open school with many different types of people that you may not run into everyday. the class sizes are small and the professors are always very willing to help. social life and athletics on campus is not a priority here.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The city of Webster Groves is an extremely safe area and Webster University has many safety precautions. Campus Security patrols 24/7 and all the parking areas are well lit at night. There are also many blue light safety poles where people can press a button for emergency services.
Greek Life Webster is not strong in the Greek Life category. But, although there is only one sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon is a strong sisterhood of intelligent women who volunteer in and around the community.
Clubs and Activities Webster University has many diverse clubs and activities. From the Quidditch Club to the Student Education Association, Webster has an academic or fun club for every student.
Great for these types of students Webster University is great for artistic, different, intelligent students who enjoy personalized attention and small class size.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Webster has a University Center like many colleges and universities. But unlike other college and universities, Webster has a flag hanging to represent each country that Webster students come from. There are over 50!
Bang for the buck Webster University is worth the price tag. The campus is lovely and accessible, the professors are intelligent and informed and every student graduates with what they need to survive in the real world.
What to do for fun Webster Groves offers many fun places to hangout such as Weber's Front Row or Blackburn Park. Beyond that, St. Louis city offers many venues, restaurants, bars, theaters and other places for college students to enjoy. Webster University itself always has events going on like plays, movie screenings and fake proms. A special highlight of Webster's is the annual Drag Ball.
Food and Dining Marletto's, Blimpie's, Freshens and WOW Chicken all provide many options for students dining on campus. Marletto's supports vegan and vegetarian lifestyles and well as many other kinds of foods. The University Center has three different options for those who want food on the go. Sandwiches, chicken, burgers, pretzels and smoothies are all offered.
Dorm Life Webster University recently built two new dorm buildings. The communities found in the dorms on campus are strong and happy. Students get to know their Resident Assistants well and they're comfortable and happy in the updated rooms.
Academic Rigor Webster's classes, although not as rigorous as other St. Louis Universities, are challenging enough to prepare students for their prospective fields. With such small class sizes, professors can get direct feedback from students on the rigor of the class.
Tips for prospective students Prospective students should plan on getting involved on campus to learn about ll the opportunities that Webster has to offer. Webster can be an amazing place to learn and thrive but only if the student allows himself or herself to grow and thrive.
In three sentences Webster University is a unique college located in a beautiful neighborhood. It's small class sizes make it personal and student oriented. Also, Webster's strong international presence makes the student body diverse and interesting.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Great. Its an office building and front door automatically lock at 7pm.
Greek Life None. Remote Campus
Clubs and Activities None. Would be nice if more clubs and activities were offered besides the Honor Society where a high GPA is required. Not everyone can be apart of the organization.
Great for these types of students Someone not wanting the dorm life, graduate students and working students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Good location, always some where to park
Bang for the buck Tons of great inexpensive eateries nearby
What to do for fun It's Orlando! there is a lot to do
Food and Dining Remote Campus
Academic Rigor The work is not hard for most of the classes but you do have a lot of reading and homework to get done. Most professors give you a generous amount of time to get the work done.
Tips for prospective students You will greatly enjoy the classroom time and find that all of the professors are in your corner to help you succeed.
In three sentences Awesome, excellant educators that provide real life experiences in their lectures.

Tips for prospective students If money is an issue, give yourself plenty of time to figure out how to pay for housing and other expenses.
Bang for the buck Expensive but I think it will be worth it, I personally couldn't afford to live on campus, but their housing looks very nice.
Will enjoy being here Webster has a great looking library right next to the building most of my classes will be in and it's in a good area of St. Louis.
Will learn a lot I looked into basically every school in Missouri for a good film program and this is the only one that interested me.

Categories Comments Greek Life I am not a member of a Greek club but i have some friends that pledge and a couple others that pledge state wide. They seem to love it.
Clubs and Activities Any interest you share there is bound to be a group our club that shares the exact same interest. If not, its also possible for you to start your own. Webster is very student ran so whatever you want, you can make happen.
Great for these types of students Students that enjoy getting involved should enjoy Webster. Also students that are capable of juggling fun time and academic time.
What to do for fun Everything you possibly can do at Webster is fun. We have free food at least once a week for different causes. Dances put on by different groups at Webster, and their is a club for every interest group you can think of.
Food and Dining I don't stay on campus so i would not know every in-and-out of the dining area, but i have eaten in the University Center and they have the best food in the school. Its also a really good bang for your buck. I get full each time i visit.
Dorm Life I do not stay on campus but I've never heard anybody complain about their housing renovations.
Academic Rigor Theirs a free tutor room for any and every subject you might need help in. Its student operated and very easy to get help in.
Tips for prospective students The school bases a lot of its time on making sure their students feel like they belong. For the students that prefer not to explore new things, this might not be the college for you.
In three sentences Webster University is a great college to attend if you enjoy meeting new people and becoming involved. I give it the highest score possible on the scale because i absolute love it. The students are also very friendly and most of the new experiences are free to get into so there is no reason not to get involved.

Categories Comments Greek Life there basically is none.
Great for these types of students Intellectual. quiet. secular.
What to do for fun Since webster isn't a state public school there aren't very many parties or fraternities and sororities, but a LOT of student organization run activities.
Food and Dining There are only two main sources of food/dining on campus which both close considerably early. It's depressing.
Dorm Life Because webster is so small the dorm life is incredible and you get to meet and become friends with people quickly. Its very family-oriented.
Academic Rigor Webster is a very theory-based university so it requires a lot of critical thinking and examining.
In three sentences Webster is very much a worldly university. It's one of the largest international schools in the world. (the most campuses around the globe) It's very small, but quite brilliant.

Categories Comments Campus Safety In my two years at Webster University, I have NEVER felt unsafe. Webster Groves is an extremely safe neighborhood, which makes campus life enjoyable. Our public safety staff is also very friendly and reliable and will always be there to help you in any way possible, as well!
Greek Life We have one sorority on campus.
Clubs and Activities Webster offers many clubs and activities and sports! We have clubs ranging from the Video Game Club to the Ecology Club! We also have one sorority. We have volleyball, golf, soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis, as well!
Great for these types of students Webster University is one of the top technical theatre schools in the country, so if you are a theatre student, this is DEFINITELY the school for you. I also find that any art-related students seem to enjoy the atmosphere at Webster University, but we also have an excellent business program and international studies program, as well!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Our mascot is a mythical creature, whose name is based on the street names where the school is located. It is a hybrid of a cheetah, saint bernard, and buffalo. It is pretty fantastic! Every year, we also hold a drag ball, which is one of the most popular drag show events in the st. louis area! It is tons of fun!
Bang for the buck Webster really is not an expensive school, especially for a private university! They also provide very good academic scholarships and work study to all qualifying students!
What to do for fun Webster hosts many events such as free concerts, (I have seen Girl Talk and Reel Big Fish in my two years at Webster!) variety shows, theatrical performances, sporting events, lectures, free food!, random crafty events, poster sales, political and religious meetings, clubs, cultural events and pretty much anything else you can think of!
Food and Dining The only real complaint I have ever had about Webster University is their campus food. I am a vegetarian, and I find it very difficult to find healthy options that suit my diet. They have either Marletto's or the fast food options at the UC. Neither are very good, unfortunately. There are many delicious restaurants near by, however! Everyone has a microwave and fridge on their floor, as well.
Dorm Life The dorms at Webster are really nice! We do not have community bathrooms, which is a plus. I have lived in both West Hall and East Hall, and I loved both. The East Hall Single Style dorms are particularly nice, especially if you require a lot of private work and study time. I will be a Webster Village Apartments resident this upcoming school year, which means I will now have a private room and bathroom, and a living room and kitchen shared with a roommate of my choice! I cannot wait!
Academic Rigor As a student of the Conservatory of Theatre Arts, I can only speak on behalf of our academic expectations. We work 24/7 and then some! Webster University is definitely not a school for slackers. Your teachers are always willing to help you, as long as you are always willing to put in the effort!
Tips for prospective students Apply early for the best chance at scholarships offered! Also, the earlier you apply for housing, the more likely you will be to get the housing that you like the best. Our housing options are somewhat limited, so the earlier you can apply, the better!
In three sentences Webster University is a home for all of the unique individuals trying to find their way in the world. I am a dedicated and passionate Conservatory student there, and I could not have found a better theatre program. If you are a passionate theatre student or a student of any type, Webster University will be the perfect fit for you!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Many students are annoyed by how strict and stringent Webster's Public Safety is but, they do a fairly good job of providing effective campus safety. From what I hear, they also love writing parking tickets so pay attention to the parking booklet for guidelines on what to do and what not to do.
Clubs and Activities There is a multitude of clubs and activities to participate in on campus.
Bang for the buck Webster is one of the more pricey schools in the St. Louis area. However, ultimately the education, the students and faculty you meet, and the experiences are worth it.
What to do for fun The Loretto-Hilton has fabulous performances. There are also an abundance of student organizations and student-led activities available throughout the year.
Food and Dining Food is actually pretty decent. There are also many other places around campus that are also very good places to eat.
Dorm Life I never lived in the dorms but I hear they are nice.
Academic Rigor I give it a 4 because the academics are challenging but the faculty is super helpful and will minimize the difficulty in any way they can.
Tips for prospective students Get your parking pass before the first day of classes or expect a line.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus Safety is really important here. There are emergency kiosks scattered all about on campus. Public Safety and Health CAre Services are the top dogs of campus safety: they really care about your safety and your health, and they are willing to stop anything that they're doing to assist you. From my personal experience, I once had an accident resulting in a concussion. I was immediately checked out when I called Public Safety, they arrived at the scene in less than 10 minutes. Unfortunately, Health Services is closed on weekends, but they e-mailed me and asked me to call them to let them know that I was okay! These professionals are really passionate about their jobs and they take all matters seriously.
Greek Life There isn't much Greek Life here, especially for men, but the sorority here is really awesome. You will always see sorority members getting really involved and giving back to the community. They also host a lot of events and those events are always open to everyone!
Clubs and Activities Aforesaid, there are a lot of club activities. There's are gaming clubs, acting and singing clubs, choirs, sports clubs, religious groups, community service organizations, etc. There are more than 50 groups that you can join, so it won't be hard for you to find something you like!
Bang for the buck You get exactly what you pay for. Activities, supplies, and whatever else you may need to pay for are very inexpensive, especially if you are a student! Students get special discounts and free stuff all the time!
What to do for fun There are always carnivals and multicultural events going on campus. There are intramurals for people who just enjoy playing sports for fun, different clubs spanning a multitude of different interests, concerts, play, and films all on campus. You don't have to go very far for entertainment if you don't want to. The best thing about most of these things is that they are FREE for students.
Food and Dining Food here is always great, and there is a wide variety of places you can go to eat. If you have a meal plan, you won't have to pay anything to eat on campus! There are also a lot of restaurants that are walking distances away, so you always have a choice.
Dorm Life The dorms are fairly large and there's enough space for a bed, a desk, and a dresser. There's plenty of room for you to decorate or bring items like televisions, refrigerators, and your favorite gaming systems!
Academic Rigor All of the courses here are built to enrich the mind. The instructors will make sure you fully understand the course, so that you can learn as much as possible.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to get involved if you end up at Webster! Getting involved can help you gain more opportunities to obtain success.

Categories Comments Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Webster is a very diverse & liberal school, so you never know what you are going to see here. One crazy tradition that this school does is a campus wide game called Humans vs. Zombies. It's like a big game of tag.
What to do for fun There are many events that go on in the University Center from different clubs and organizations. This school also has a lot of free movies that are shown in the theatre in Webster Hall.
Food and Dining There are many places to eat around campus, but the main two spots are the UC (University Center) and Marletto's. The food is very good, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
Dorm Life I am a commuter due to financial reasons, but on behalf of my friends who stay in the dorms, they love it. People are nice and the RA's are very responsible. It's very habitable.
Academic Rigor Webster University is an academic school. They have sports, clubs, and other cool things, but this school is mainly focused on learning.
Tips for prospective students Remember to stay focused on why you are in college. Don't get caught up in parties, clubs, and other fun things and forget to do your work. Work now, fun later.
In three sentences Webster is an outstanding school. The learning environment is perfect. It is one of the most diverse places I've ever been to.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is in a small, safe community well outside St. Louis city limits, and Campus Safety personel are always visible on campus and easy to reach. The school also has alerts in place that not only notify students on weather alerts and campus closings, but also updates about any safety issue on campus or in the neighborhood.
Greek Life There were no Greek organizations until halfway through my time there, now I believe there is one sorority and one fraternity. They exist, but are not an entrenched part of campus life.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and activities, but I must admit I did not take part in many. However, there are enough options to find a good fit for almost any student, and the small nature of the school makes creating intimate connections and truly unique settings east.
Great for these types of students Any student interested in Liberal Arts, Fine Arts, or technological pursuits. A student who likes the feel of small towns and appreciates a small idyllic and unique campus.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Several departments on campus are housed in historic mansions that have been a part of Webster Groves for over a hundred years. English, Philosophy, History, and Music classes are some of the classes held in these houses. The history Webster Hall and facing Eden Theological Seminary is a treat for anyone who loves old, beautiful buildings.
Bang for the buck As a Private University the sticker price is high, but I received well over half of my tuition in scholarships and grants. I received an amazing education and got to study abroad for a year in a country I never would have visited otherwise. In short, it was well worth it, and to put a point on it I graduated with 17,000 in loans, most of which I could have avoided had I been more personally diligent about my paperwork.
What to do for fun St. Louis is only a hop and a skip away, with a wonderful Art Museum, free Zoo, Forest Park, City Museum, and Fox Theatre. The Lorretto-Hilton on campus has shows and students get in to Conservatory Productions (which are very good!) for free. There is a film series, several campus sports organizations, and plenty of clubs to join.
Food and Dining It's what I feel can be expected from a school this size. There are several options for meal plans, some more affordable and applicable than others, and the dining options are all tasty with nothing extravagant. Suffice to say you can access both healthy and delicious food and coffee at any time a restaurant would be open.
Dorm Life As the campus is small, dorm life is close-knit. There isn't a lot of space for student housing, but I never had a problem finding lodgings, and the surrounding neighborhoods are nice with ample apartment options.
Academic Rigor Students are expected to do well, and as I received a scholarship from the school that held a high GPA requirement, I certainly never let my grades drop. However, there are plenty of resources students can access if they need extra help in any subject area.
Tips for prospective students Webster University excels in the Liberal and Creative Arts fields. They also have an excellent and accesible study abroad program. Don't be afraid to explore the options Webster can provide you!
In three sentences Webster University was an amazing opportunity to get a well-rounded liberal arts degree that allowed me to pursue my passion and never be bored in gen-ed classes. I took them, but the options were interesting and often pertained to my fields of interest. I couldn't have asked for better or more interesting and kind professors.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The safest University campus ever. I have never once worried about walking alone anywhere on campus.
Food and Dining Dining at Webster is diverse. Personally, I have a special diet because I am allergic to wheat and oats. After I shared with the dining my allergies they specially found foods for my specifically.
Dorm Life Dorm life is a great experience that I think should be a requirement for EVERY freshman. The dorm floors become a family of friends that are supportive through a huge transition in every person's life.
Academic Rigor Pushed the students to their strongest ability, pushing their limits, and helping each student individually.
Tips for prospective students Do not blend into the background of the college scene. Ask questions, go above and beyond, and stretch your mind as much as possible in this crucial stage in life.
In three sentences Webster is a perfect school for a young person to find their own individual path without being bound as a certain major. The small classes allow one on one attention, which helps you grow into the person you want to be. With global campuses around the world each student has the ability to immerse themselves into a culture and learn with all the benefits of a highly accredited university.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Webster has a lot of groups and organizations. Webster offers many sports one expects like basketball and volleyball, and ones a person doesn't like a kickball class. If you take time to get involved you will find plenty to do.
Food and Dining Webster University has some well cooked food. I do wish there were more choices on campus.
Dorm Life Webster University has some really nice dorms. I have personally looked at other colleges before I decided on Webster such as Morehouse and UT Knox, and honestly compared to them Webster's dorms are really nice and spacious.
Academic Rigor Webster University academics are very challenging and really require you to use critical thinking. No matter what major you pursue you will be pushed to achieve your best.
Tips for prospective students I have a few tips for prospective students. One tip I have is for all prospective students to take advantage of financial aid. Webster offers a considerable amount of financial aid and people there want you to stay in school. Another tip is to be invovled and don't be afraid to open up. You will surprised and delighted to discover all the neat things you can do. My last tip is don't be afraid to be yourself. Webster is very open and understandable to all sorts people. They really want to come as you are
In three sentences I rate Webster University on their student life, academics, safety, clubs, organizations, and food. Webster University is a small, but very rewarding University. The small setting and caring teachers really make it a wonderful experience.

Categories Comments Campus Safety VERY safe campus. Well protected, and lots of safe students.
Greek Life There is only one sorority, but it is a group of very nice girls.
Clubs and Activities Plenty of different types of clubs. Some are very large, and some are very small. The school is always open to the starting of new clubs or activities.
Great for these types of students Democratic, Small-town oriented, have not explored much of the US, not big partiers, Non-St. Louisans, musicians, actors (great conservatory), of any ethnicity
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus None that I can think of. There is an odd mascot: the Gorlock. That is basically the one unusual thing that is acknowledged.
Bang for the buck I have truthfully not much enjoyed my time at Webster. I have many friends who absolutely love it, but there are also many who can say quite the opposite. Those who are from out of town like it a lot. Those of us who are commuters don't find much excitement in the school. This is a great school for liberal students from a small town, or great actors or musicians.
What to do for fun There are on-campus clubs and sports games to attend.
Food and Dining The food offered on campus is pretty good. The campus diner/buffet serves both (somewhat) healthy and other types of food, and it is very tasty. There are also other restaurants on campus that offer a good selection. If you are a vegetarian or a big salad eater, you may not find the food you are interested in.
Dorm Life I am a commuter, so I can't answer this with a fully intelligent opinion. What I can say is that those who live in the dorms seem to enjoy it very much, especially as freshmen. The RAs on campus make dorm life a great time. There are never any dorm-parties, or things like that. Seems to be a very clean campus.
Academic Rigor The teachers tend to be very easy going. Those in the foreign language department are wonderful teachers, and very well organized. All teachers tend to be very different from one another. I have had some in whose classes I learned important information that I will never forget, but I have had some that felt like a complete waste of time; I barely learned anything.
Tips for prospective students If you have grown up in a small town, this would be a great school for you. There are not many on-campus activities, but those that are offered are enjoyable. If you are looking for new exciting adventures, aside from studying abroad- this may not be the school you're looking for.
In three sentences This school seems to be more appealing to students who have lived outside of the St. Louis area for most of their lives; Webster Groves is a great place to live. Most teachers and classes are great, but many in the media department aren't challenging enough. It is a very liberal college; those who live on campus are usually very involved, but commuters tend to have a difficult time.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Webster is an extremely safe area with help boxes to push if in trouble and campus safety roaming the campus, only a phone call away.
Greek Life There is only one sorority and Greek houses aren't allowed.
Clubs and Activities There are 70 different student organizations at Webster. From major-centered like Students for Biological Sciences to activity-centered clubs, like Video Game Club. There is something for everyone. Right now I'm extremely involved with WSES, or Webster Students for Environmental Sustainability, which leads our campus in the green movements, pushing for cleaner energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable solutions. There are support groups, like the LGBTQ alliance, and the Latin American Student Organization.
Great for these types of students Webster is the school for anyone interested in the small school experience, who wants to study abroad, and actually become a part of the campus community. Creativity and eccentricity are praised and desired in Webster students. The campus has one of the largest LGBTQ populations and support for these students. Our conservatory theater is rated second best in the U.S. so theater students and students who enjoy theater are welcome.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Definitely the game of HvZ, or Humans versus Zombies is an unusual tradition on campus. Basically, everyone signs up online to the program and at the first meeting, we receive our bandanas. Almost everyone in the game starts off as a human, with their bandanas tied around their arms. The one person who doesn't have a bandana tied around the arm is the Oz, or original zombie. If this person tags a human, the human turns into a zombie and must put her bandana on her head, to signify this. The zombie who tags the human takes their card and logs them into the HvZ database so that it becomes official. The more people become zombies, the more intense the game gets and the only way to fend off a zombie is to hit it with a Nerf gun dart or throw clean socks. So, this becomes a spectacle for the University because people are diving into bushes, Nerf guns are being fired, people are running to safe areas. It goes on for a week and it's definitely the most fun and ridiculous event Webster
Bang for the buck Webster is a global school, meaning we have campuses on several continents. Currently we just acquired a campus in Ghana. The best thing about our study abroad program is that tuition is basically the same and students receive a free plane ticket whether it be for Argentina or Thailand.
What to do for fun There is always something to do from the campus-wide, weeklong game of Humans Versus Zombies to the Harry Potter themed Yule Ball. You know we're a liberal arts college when we have Quidditch instead of football.
Food and Dining There are many options at Webster, even vegetarian. Sometimes Marletto's can get old because I live on campus, but they do offer worldly foods. One day could be falafels, another could be curry, and the next Chinese. There is always soup and pizza. With that we have breakfast in the morning where waffles, pancakes, omelets, french toast, hash browns, and yogurt are available. At our University Center, Webster offers Wow Wingerey, Freshens smoothies, and Blimpie sandwiches. I don't go there as much because I prefer the surprises Marletto's offers. Besides those places though, there are sushi and coffee stands in various locations, along with a coffee shop in the library.
Dorm Life I've made my best friends at school from living in the dorms. The RA's really try to foster a bond among students. Sometimes it can get noisy and difficult to be around friends all the time, especially when trying to study. It's definitely an adjustment, but there are plenty of places to study, like the study rooms at the end of every hall, the lounges on every floor, or the library a two-minute walk away.
Academic Rigor Webster is challenging but the professors present these challenges well so I want to take them on. Finals aren't necessarily tests but projects, presentations, or speech so we have to take what we learn in the class and actually use it, instead of cramming for an exam and throwing our knowledge away.
Tips for prospective students Make sure to get to know your professors because they will be invaluable resources when trying to find jobs or if you just need advice. Take advantage of the fact you're in a small school. Get involved so you can find your passion and what you want to do with the rest of your life. If you can, live on campus because it helps you focus more on school and become more involved. Don't miss classes even though you're in college. Webster is small and the professor will notice and wonder why you're not in class. Just remember, though, it's only because they care. Also, get a work study job because If ever I need someone to talk to, I have dozens of professors and peers who care about me in my work study. Without a doubt Webster has the best professors and the best students.
In three sentences I've never comfortable in school settings until I started at Webster. The professors are the most supportive teachers I've ever met. Attending Webster makes me feel like I'm a part of this bigger family away from home. When I started my works-study at the English and Philosophy department, which is in an old mansion, I instantly became a member of their community.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There's bowling. movies, shopping. dart games, pool and many other entertainment venues around the University.
Food and Dining There are multiple eatery locations around the University from fine dining to fast food. You will not go hungry around this location.
Dorm Life I can't on Dorm Life because, I do not live on campus.
Academic Rigor Currently, I have not had any difficulty or challenges in any of my academics thus far.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for a school stand behind education and growth opportunities in your career, Webster University should be your choice.
In three sentences Webster University is far better than any other college or University I've gone to. The Instructors and Counselors uphold Integrity and Character and the school stands behind it's culture. I couldn't have chosen a better University to attend.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Webster University has many clubs. Clubs are great for interacting with new people and just having fun. They are great for getting away from all the school work. We also have a gym, weight lifting room (free of charge), and pool for athletic purposes. We open the pool certain times for free swimming as well.
Food and Dining The food here is delightful. You have a choice of three great places. Our Marletto's Cafe is our #1 restaurant on campus. They cook right in front of you and serve you food that has been made from scratch along. This restaurant goes as a buffet as well, so it is all you can eat. Our World Of Wings (WOW) restaurant is all about the wings. They also serve other great foods such as: Hamburgers, Grilled Cheese, Chicken Tenders, and much more. We also have our Kaldi's Coffee Internet Cafe. The coffee there is phenomenal. It's something great to wake you up for class. And what a great place for watching your favorite youtube videos while drinking some of their original hot teas along with the delightful pastries.
Dorm Life The dorms and apartments are great here. In each dorm hall there is 8 different study rooms with ethernet cord outlets and regular outlets for your laptop. The dormitory here is very nice. It's very clean and new. The dorms get cleaned daily. There is a laundry room on the first room free of charge for all your clothes. Our RA's are in charge of making sure that everyone is satisfied with their rooms and roommates. We have a schedule for when everyone needs to be quiet and for when you can be louder than normal.
Academic Rigor Our professors have not been professors their whole life. Webster University hires professors who actually made it to the top of their previous career, in which they are teaching you now. My Film Professor is actually a TV Show Producer. My Intro to Media Writing Professor actually interviewed Jon Stewart. They know exactly what they are talking about. With all of their personal experience, they will teach you everything they know. Webster University's Academic Status is Superior to most Universities in the world.
Tips for prospective students If you are coming to Webster University plan on being greeted into an entire community of enthusiastic students. Webster is known for our diversity. Many people from all over the world come to Webster, because we invite them in and accept them for who they are. We do not have huge lecture halls like you see in the movies, which makes it easier because your with a small group of people which makes it easy for you to learn and focus. We have small rooms which makes it easier for the professor to make sure everyone is understanding each concept. Webster University really shows you how to apply each and everything to real life, which is good, because that is how it is in the real world. The professors are not as strict as you may think. They make it fun in so many different ways.
In three sentences Webster University is a great place for learning to things and networking with outstanding people. Webster University Professors make it fun by teaching hands-on for each subject of learning. People here are really friendly, which makes it easier to make friends and work with others on school work.

Categories Comments What to do for fun A lot of planned events happen on the weekends. The students at Webster love to schedule events for the whole campus to be apart of. There are free movies that show in the auditorium, most of which are sneak peeks at movies that haven't even shown in theatres yet! I saw Argo on campus about a week before it premiered in theatres. Pizza parties/karaoke/game nights are usual happenings on campus. There's always something to do!
Food and Dining Webster's Dining options are very diverse! There is something for everyone, whether you're vegan, vegetarian, whatever! The only negative for me was that they don't serve good seafood very often, which is a food that I really love. There are other dining resources on campus other than the main dining hall as well, whether it be a sandwich shop, a fast food grill, or a smoothie place!
Dorm Life Dorm life is an awesome way to make lifetime friends. Residential Assistants are so helpful when you need anything, and there are plenty of events scheduled for each floor to be apart of. Each floor has its own theme each semester, and the quiet hours are very convenient.
Academic Rigor Webster is well-regarded for their academic accomplishments. I am only rating it with four stars, because I am a conservatory student and I don't take academic classes at Webster. However, many students give it's academic success lots of praise!
Tips for prospective students 1. Ask for help! There is no way to get the right answers, or any answers at all, if you don't ask for help! Every professor/faculty member I've ever spoken to here is always willing to answer any questions. 2. Take a tour of not only the campus, but the surrounding area. It's such a beautiful place to study a craft that you love. There are so many unique pieces of St. Louis, and ready to be seen! 3. Be open-minded. This is a Liberal Arts school, and creativity and self-expression is bursting at the seams of this campus. Be ready and willing to meet many new people, and explore the diversity.
In three sentences Webster University is the perfect place for a dedicated, interesting, and creative student. The campus is very quaint and town-like; perfect for inspiring creativity and focus. There are plenty of academic resources to be taken advantage of, and the faculty is truly there to help you!

Categories Comments Campus Safety Public safety is always out and about. Webster Groves has been crime free for years. People walk around late at night alone, leave their cars unlocked, and never feel worried.
Greek Life There are a few sororities but no fraternities.
Great for these types of students Students who love small schools and hipsters. The athletic programs are good and the games are always fun to attend.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The St. Louis Opera theater is located on campus.
What to do for fun Many parks and restaurants are nearby. Downtown St. Louis is only ten minutes away. Anything you could want to do in or around St. Louis county is within a fifteen minute drive.
Food and Dining Good food but there are not many dining halls. However, Webster hires catering companies often to give free meals to anyone on campus.
Dorm Life I didn't stay in dorms.
Tips for prospective students Get involved quickly. There are not too many students, so you will meet many people and actually remember their names.
In three sentences Webster is a very close-knit school in a friendly community. The class sizes are small, and beneficial. There are also many great opportunities for research and internships.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Public safety is always available and helpful. The campus is also becoming more and more safe with emergency pols and so on. They just get a little to excited about giving out tickets... Wish they would check the licence plates more accurate.
Greek Life If you want Greek Life, Webster is probably not your school... Only one Sisterhood on campus. Sorry.
Clubs and Activities Huge variety with lots of opportunities. You are able to be a part of whatever you like, and if they happen to not have the club you want to join? Go ahead and start it! Pro-Staff will support you with all the information you need.
Great for these types of students People who want to meet others. Students who do not just want to be one out of many, but actually know their professors by name and vice versa. People who are openminded and ready to meet diversity in person.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The quad. A big green area in the middle of the campus. Sometimes it holds poster sales, or students will play soccer or ultimate Frisbee. Or they will just hang around with one or another. It is a great place to study, socialise and lots more. A little peaceful place in a stressful college career.
Bang for the buck With the right scholarships it is doable, but the financial department could be better in helping you find the resources you need.
What to do for fun Join clubs, go to events, be a part of the Webster family and it will never be boring.
Food and Dining The chefs are amazing, they are funny, nice and make you feel right at home. The food variety and quality could be better, but then the chefs will do whatever they can to make you not go home hungry.
Dorm Life Great staff, and best opportunity to meet great people. Quality of furniture and facility could be better for the price you pay.
Academic Rigor If you work hard you will be rewarded. Don't be lazy, but also don't be afraid to ask for help.
Tips for prospective students Be openminded, and get involved. Try as many things as you can, and find yourself. Webster provides you with so much more than just the opportunity to earn a degree.
In three sentences Incredible people and opportunities. Incredible support from staff, faculty and students. Webster is not a school, its a home.

Categories Comments Campus Safety We have Public Safety patrolling 24/7. When something happens on or near campus, students can opt into a text message/email system that will alert students of crimes and school closings. Webster also offers an Escort Service for students who do not feel comfortable walking to and from cars, classes, or dorms.
Greek Life We do not have Greek Houses, but we do have a tiny Greek Life. Our Fraternity and Sorority are more academic based, so don't come expecting to party.
Clubs and Activities There is a wide variety of clubs on campus from Improv to Forensics and Debate. If there is a club you want to start, the process is quite simple to file a request, too.
Great for these types of students We have a wide variety of students from people who went to school in Webster Groves to international students from all around the world.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Quads are really nice places to hang out in nice weather. If you want to get homework done, though, the best places are the 3rd and 4th levels of the Library and Pearson House (English and Philosophy department building).
Bang for the buck Although the school is expensive, I cannot think of anywhere else I would have wanted to go. I had enough financial aid to cover all four years of college here and I feel like I learned quite a bit that I might not have know before.
What to do for fun Webster Groves has a lot of parks close to campus. Downtown St. Louis and Forest Park are only a 10 minute drive tops from campus. Every year, we have at least one Humans Versus Zombies Game, too!
Food and Dining There is a limited amount of cafeterias on campus, but Webster is in between two shopping districts in Webster Groves that are easy walking distance for food ranging from Thai to Subway.
Dorm Life I did not live on campus, but from what I have seen, the dorms and apartments are really nice. The dorms have options to have two to a room and three to four bedrooms in a suite, while the apartment choices ranges from a single efficiency to a four bedroom apartment.
Academic Rigor The professors here will push you, so be prepared to work! The English department is very reading intensive, so you might not want to bulk up on those classes in one semester, but you will learn (and cover) a lot in these courses.
Tips for prospective students Don't worry about what you want to do! You can dabble for a semester or two in nearly every department so you can find your perfect match.
In three sentences Webster is a great choice for someone interested in the Arts and Sciences and Fine Arts. Be expected to receive a very liberal arts education here, because they will expect you to dabble in many different departments in order to earn your degree. If you work hard enough in high school, they might even give you a decent Academic Scholarship!

Great for these types of students Theatre majors English majors LGTBQ community Those interested in studying abroad

Bang for the buck To be honest, in some aspects, Webster is an expensive school, but you definitely receive more than what you pay for. The staff and workers are all dedicated to their jobs and students' voices are heard and enact change. Not to mention, it's almost impossible to walk down the street and not meet someone you know or someone who will smile and say, hi.
What to do for fun There's quite a few bowling places near by. You can hop on the metro to go downtown. The Loop is only 20 minutes away by car and there are plenty of productions on campus to attend.
Food and Dining There are various options on campus for dining and plenty of small restaurants and eateries within walking distance of Webster.
Dorm Life The residence halls and apartments are well maintained and comfortable.
Academic Rigor Every teacher is dedicated to his/her concentration and they want students to succeed. The school has high, but completely attainable, expectations that encourage students in their success.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very safe. I think two girls have been accosted in the last three years but those reports are skeptical. Me nor my friends have ever felt threatened in quaint Webster Groves.
Greek Life Non-existent.
Clubs and Activities There are surprisingly a lot of clubs and activities available for students but primarily only the on-campus residents go to them. The school also supports new clubs and awards them a budget if enough students sign a petition saying they will attend the club or activity.
Great for these types of students Shy and thoughtful students, students who want to intimately meet friends, and students interested in studying abroad.
Bang for the buck Webster is expensive in my opinion for what little services are offered. Every year they also seem to be cutting budgets and upping tuition.
What to do for fun Go to the library, the Delmar Loop, downtown St. Louis or make friends! There is a lot to do if you know what to look for. Connect with upperclassmen for this.
Food and Dining On-campus dining is lacking and is only offered for a few hours on the weekend which makes the meal plan impossible to live off of. There are very few options for vegetarians and practically none for vegans unless they want to live off of soup.
Dorm Life My dorm experience was phenomenal if only for the other students. It is co-ed which is awesome because it allows students to get to know everyone. Other than that the dorms are expensive.
Academic Rigor The upper classes can be particularly rigorous, especially for Art, Biology, and Sociology/ Anthropology majors. Other subjects in my experience are covered very basically and by large ignore discussions.
Tips for prospective students Beware of financial aid! Ask around and frequently you will hear complaints about financial aid either messing up or randomly changing your award letter. Live on campus for your first year as it will greatly benefit you in socializing and gaining the full experience.
In three sentences Webster has amazing opportunities to study abroad and offers a waiver for every student's first time studying abroad. The students and faculty are remarkable in general, but the administration's competency is questionable. It is perfectly small for intimate classes which enables students to intimately know their professors and classmates.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I don't think there's ever been a time I've felt unsafe on campus.
Great for these types of students Theatre majors, music majors
Bang for the buck The education you get here, especially at the Conservatory, is definitely worth the money. They give out a lot of financial aid, and there are a lot of work-study and budget jobs (work-study for those awarded it, and budget for those who were not).
What to do for fun To be honest, there's not a whole lot to do in Webster Groves unless you have a car. Residential Housing Association does put on a lot of events, and one Friday every month they have an excursion, which is an off-campus event that they provide transportation for.
Food and Dining The main dining hall, Marletto's, isn't the best food I've ever had, but it's for the most part manageable. The other dining options on campus, like the café in the library and the store in the East Academic Building, are much better, and the coffee is pretty good.
Dorm Life Living on campus is actually not that bad. The dorms are suite-style, so you have your own bathroom that you share with your roommate and two other people. The only thing that's really irritating are the thin walls (you can hear EVERYTHING) and sharing the kitchenette that is on your floor, especially if your floor-mates don't do their dishes.
Academic Rigor As with all colleges, there are some classes and teachers you want to avoid. I've been able to find interest in all of my classes so far, and the teachers are willing to help you succeed even if it means coming in outside of their office hours.
Tips for prospective students If you're planning on auditioning for the Conservatory (in other words, if you're a theatre or dance major) don't hesitate to get in contact with the faculty before your audition. They make the process easy, and the more you communicate with them the more likely they'll remember you.
In three sentences Webster has a friendly, welcoming environment that puts students and prospective students at ease. Specifically the Conservatory of Theatre Arts works to make sure students get the education and experience they need to work in a competitive environment.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is very safe all the time. Public Safety is always around.
Greek Life There is one Sorority here on campus.
Great for these types of students Anyone looking to study film, video, journalism, mass communications.
Bang for the buck I think it's actually pretty expensive, considering that there's not much here on campus to be paying for. I mean there should be more to the campus I think, but that's another story.
What to do for fun It's Saint Louis, there's not that much to do for fun unless you're not from here. There's always something to do though, so if you go looking you can't stay bored for long.
Food and Dining The food was good at first...But then you'll get tired of it. The good thing is, you can use your meal plan points at the surrounding restaurants near campus.
Dorm Life The dorm life here is pretty OK. Each floor is like a family of their own, but you're always welcome to go from floor to floor and talk with people and make new friends.
Academic Rigor The academics here at Webster are great! I've had some pretty interesting professors, and most all of them have experience in what they teach, and some still work in that field.
Tips for prospective students This school is great if you're looking to study any Media, like film, video, journalism, etc.

Categories Comments Campus Safety They are pretty good at that!
Greek Life One 1 frat and 1 sorority
Clubs and Activities There are a lot to get into but one 1 frat and 1 sorority.
Great for these types of students Great for liberal arts students and students that accept culture and sexual preference.
Bang for the buck Ehh, it is a bit over priced if you ask me.
What to do for fun Go out and club or go for walks.
Food and Dining Horrible.
Dorm Life The dorms are nice but some students are a bit rowdy.
Academic Rigor It is a nice balace of hard and easy as long as you are not in biology.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you know what majors are good at the school. (Biology is not) Also, have a plan for expenses as well as food because it is not good here.
In three sentences The school is decent. It is good for students interested in the arts. However, be prepared it is ridiculously expensive!

Categories Comments Food and Dining The food is great and there are vending machines in alot of places.
Dorm Life I do not live on campus but they look pretty clean from what I could see.
Academic Rigor They do challenge you seeing how it is a private institution
In three sentences Webster University is a nice, quiet, and eventful college. The students at the university are friendly and always smiling and the instructors allow you to call them by their first names. At Webster one would get a top notch education all while building new relationships.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I feel very safe. Nothing bad has happened on campus this year and I can call public safety to have them walk me back to the dorm if I want.
What to do for fun You can grab some friends and play frisbee on the quad. There's a sand volleyball court, too! Inside, you can watch tv. It's basically all about making your own fun!
Food and Dining I would say that the food is good, but limited.
Dorm Life My floor is a Learning Community, and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with how close we are, but we are basically a family. We come up with our own events to throw and are always hanging out with each other.
Academic Rigor Compared to my very rigorous high school, my first year at Webster has not been stressful.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to ask questions! Make sure you ask about studying abroad. Join clubs and try new things!
In three sentences Webster University is a college that completely accepts you for who you are. Webster encourages students to take leadership and to grow in all aspects of their lives. The classes are small so professors get to know you for who you are and instruct you better.

Categories Comments Campus Safety I've never felt safer on a campus. I've been to St. Louis Community College, and University of Missouri St. Louis and out of all three campuses, I feel safest on Webster University for sure. It's in an amazing, festive, and polite neighborhood.
Clubs and Activities They have clubs to fit with anyones interests. Even Zombies vs. Humans club that has gatherings on campus and people pick teams, bring nerf guns and dress up sometimes and the battles last for days. Its great. Even if you aren't playing, you feel like your involved. The seminars, conferences, and job expos are amazingly helpful for networking and future job opportunities.
Great for these types of students Webster University is great for students that are interested in broadening their horizons and like being in a liberal surrounding. It has a huge video, audio, and film production presence. The art and theater school also carry a heavy presence. The campus feels very festive and in high spirits.
Bang for the buck The resources that you have access to are amazing. They provide many online services for free through the library. The teachers are extremely qualified and have lots of real world experience and really know their stuff. They are always willing to go out of their way to help you as long as you are willing to put in the effort and show them your dedication. Their internship program also helps hook you up with great skill building experiences along with possible careers. The entire staff is really helpful and polite and there is help everywhere you look. They also give a lot of grants and scholarships on a first come first serve basis so make sure you get your FAFSA filled out by the deadline.
What to do for fun Webster Groves is a great neighborhood with lots of neat restaurants and shops. The cafes in the area also have live music nights. The loop, St. Louis Galleria, and CWE are also great areas to visit while living on campus. The library also has a wide variety of video games, video and music to check out along with a vast online resource list.
Tips for prospective students Get involved on campus because the events provide great networking opportunities. Get to know your professors because they can vouch for your skills in the future and you can use them as references when applying to jobs. Use social media to your benefit. Behance, Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube, and so many more can help keep you connected and you may get access to possible job opportunities. Join organizations. They are great for networking and creating possible job opportunities down the road.
In three sentences Webster University has provided me with the skills I need to move forward with my professional career. The small classes and updated curriculum assures me that my education equips me with the most current skill set available. I graduate in May 2013 and feel extremely confident in my abilities to get a successful career.
