Categories Comments Great for these types of students Wentworth is a great school for students who know they want to major in a Design program or Engineering program. If your a student who knows what you want to do with the rest of your life, Wentworth is the school for you. Wentworth has a number of accredited programs, and some of the best hands on design and engineering programs in the northeast.
Tips for prospective students I like to think of Wentworth as a school that gives almost everyone a chance. Although they do give everyone a chance, you need to want it and show it to stay there. Its easy to get in, hard to stay at. Wentworth is a faster paced, career-oriented school. It has awesome programs. The staff is outstanding. Being a transfer student, I was nervous trying a new school after hating my first semester. The admissions staff is great. They really work with you on a personal level to help you with your problems. Wentworth also has the laptop program, which is really helpful. All the programs needed are on the laptop. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Wentworth is truly an amazing school.
Bang for the buck Wentworth has the laptop program which is a huge upside. The cost is built into the tuition and the laptop is fully loaded with the programs you will need throughout your studies. After 2 years you get an upgraded laptop, so your up-to-date with all your software. The Professors and staff on campus are friendly and very understanding.
Am enjoying being here The campus is a friendly, smaller campus located in a big city full of college students. The classes are fairly small so you get the help you need, but socially you are surrounded by 7-9 other colleges in the area that you can easily go to and have fun.
Am learning a lot The classes are a constant challenge. Everyday is a day full of knowledge.

Food and Dining Terrible. But can use meal points at convenience store
Dorm Life Freshman live in family style (8-12 people per suite) or traditional (2 people per room)

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Wentworth is great for all types of students, but especially for the hands on learner.
Tips for prospective students Wentworth is a great school. However, I would only recommend attending if you are absolutely sure of which major you want to pursue.
Bang for the buck At Wentworth, students get the full experience. You get all of the basic knowledge for your major along with hands on experience. Once a student is farther into their studies, Wentworth has a phenomenal co-op program that builds your resume and experience as well.
Am enjoying being here The campus is great. There are so many activities on campus alone to participate in never-mind the fact that the school is located in the heart of Boston. The professors and faculty are always helpful and nice. I've made friends in my first semester that I know will be friends for the rest of my life.
Am learning a lot Every day that I am at Wentworth I learn something new. Wentworth not only teaches you the basics of your declared major, but also applies it to real world situations in a hands on way so that you apply the principles that you are learning in the classroom.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for students who want to become engineers and for hands on work.
Tips for prospective students If you like hands on work and don't mind small classes, Wentworth is the way to go. Also don't trow away old high school physics or math notes as they will come in handy. Study hard, show interest and put lots of effort into your work.
Bang for the buck For the tuition price that wentworth makes people pay you cannot go wrong. As long as you try in school you will be able to get the degree and education that you desire.
Am enjoying being here One of the greatest things about attending Wentworth is that your in Boston and everything is in walking distance. There are plenty of after school activities which range from student government, sports, computer clubs, IEEE, activities club, pool room, and other fun activities. Also students at wentworth are really friendly. Everywhere you go their is something to do or someone their to help you out with school related activities.
Am learning a lot Wentworth is a great school. Teachers are really helpful and take their time to go over homework. Sense class sizes are small, teachers get to know you better and help you out as an individual. As long as you try, their is no possible way you can fail.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Engineering or architects or interior architects. It mostly a contruction and technology school. I dont know how the computer classes are but aparently they good. Anyone who likes a small school and wants to be in a city would love this school.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you try to stand out. I was waitlisted the first go around but I went and interviewed with my addmisions concelor and got it. Sometimes them knowing you personally and seeing you helps them know that you want to be there. It also doesnt hurt if you are female. The school is mostly male and they are trying to have more girls. Have great grades especially in the math and sciences and have a good amount of extra cirricualrs. They like people who are helping the community or at least doing something with thier time besides watching tv and going to school. Also get a really good score on the math SAT. They like my high math score.
Bang for the buck Tuition is so low compare to other schools. On top of that you get a laptop. The school is really trying to be on the forefront with technology by having laptop and haing professor use email and other tools. You also get the programs you need for your major for free though the schools datbase. What is the best in that Wentworth is part of the colleges of the fenway. this means if you want to take a class that is not offered at wentworth, you can take it at another school.
Am enjoying being here I have meet many people and had made many friends. The school alwasy offfers great discounts on a lot of things. I love that is right in Boston. Also there is always some activity or something to do on the weekends at wentworth. I like that they alwasy come up wth these progams or activities.
Am learning a lot Classes are a real challenge and the professor really know what they are talking about. I like that most of the classes are really small. The proffesors really help you if you need help. I really like that you get right into you major.

Categories Comments Greek Life there is only one greek community and it is focused on academic achievement. this school prides itself on education not partying.
Bang for the buck for the money wentworth is a great place to get an education. the location is amazing and the curriculum is challenging and interactive. co-op opportunities are endless and allow for a foot into the field.
What to do for fun boston is full of things to do at any time of the day. wentworth provides events every saturday and there are clubs for almost everything that you can join.
Food and Dining food is fairly good with the selection provided by both wentworth and mass art. the c-store is on campus and very convenient late at night or on the weekends.
Dorm Life dorms are generally good size and in good condition. suite options are the most popular on campus.
Academic Rigor classes are challenging and many include a lot of work especially in the design majors.
Tips for prospective students stay on top of your work and develop good time management skills. if you are having trouble with your classes take advantage of the services provided to you.
In three sentences wentworth has a very dynamic and valuable architecture program. the classes are challenging and the professors are skilled and very helpful with student's needs. campus is in a great location and allows students to take classes at other colleges in the fenway group.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who enjoy math and science or someone interested in the engineering field.
Tips for prospective students Stay on top of your classes and school work. It is important to stay on track with all your classes. Classes aren't always offered so failing a class can be a huge set back toward graduation. Some classes go faster than others but it is always important to attend class and know what's going on.
Bang for the buck This college has a great reputation and it is certainly affordable as a private school. The co-op program is well respected and what the school is known for.
Am enjoying being here Wentworth is in Boston. There are plenty of other colleges around as well as a lot to do. Boston is never a disappointing place to live.
Am learning a lot The courses are interesting and can certainly be challenging. The professors are very knowledgeable in their subjects and certainly know how to convey this to the students.

Categories Comments Great for these types of students This school is great for dedicated, hardworking students. The majors offered here are not easy and require a lot of time and effort but if it is what you want to do then the work is worth it and the classes are interesting and the professors will help you along the way.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you really want to go into one of the technology majors. You can change majors within the school if you change your mind about which one you want but transferring schools can be a pain so if you have no idea what you want to do I would recommend a school with a larger variety of majors. What is great about this school is that it is part of the Colleges of the Fenway. If you cannot find an elective that you like at Wentworth but there is one at one of the other five Fenway schools that fits the requirements, you can cross register.
Bang for the buck The laptop program prevents you from having to go out and add a new laptop to the expense of college. Students in Architecture and Interior Design majors get a MacBook Pro everyone else gets a PC. Junior year they replace the laptops with newer updated ones, and if you continue to grad school they replace it again (which i strongly recommend for architecture majors because if you continue here it is a one year masters program that would be two years anywhere else). These laptops come fully loaded with all of the programs you will need for class. There are also many activities to do around campus and plenty of free giveaways and raffles.
Am enjoying being here It is a small school with a tight community and it doesn't hurt that it is located in the city of Boston. Getting anywhere you need to go is easy because there are two T stops within two minutes of campus in either direction. Being surrounded by so many other colleges and being a part of the Colleges of the Fenway helps make a small school bigger.
Am learning a lot The classes are interesting and there is a reason for every class you have to take. The class sizes are small for the most part so you are not lost in the crowd and the professors get to know you over the course of the semester. The professors are approachable and can be contacted during their office hours or by email any time. They are very prompt about returning emails.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus is safe and the dorm's always have desk guards after 8 O'clock
Greek Life Nonexistent except for the honor fraternity but that's it.
Bang for the buck I personally think it was great, I got a better deal here than at the UMass's.
What to do for fun There are allot of clubs to join, there's also the Prudential and landmark center's. Besides that it's in Boston, you will never run out of things to do.
Food and Dining What do you want it's college food, not home cooking. That being said I never thought the food was that bad.
Dorm Life Choose Baker hall, it may have a little less privacy but you will meet so many more people and make allot more friends.
Academic Rigor Some classes can be tough, but if you do the work, get help when you need it, and talk to your professor's then there is no reason you shouldn't pass.
Tips for prospective students Be ready for a completely different experience then high school, and try to grow a relationship with your professsors
In three sentences A rapidly expanding university. With small class sizes and professors who care about your growth. Located in one of the premiere cities to go to school in.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck My first year was a bit pricey, but I put in a lot of effort and was accepted into a Resident Assistant position. One of the benefits is 100% discount on room charges, which were the bulk of my loan debt. Because of that, I will be paying very little money to obtain a good education. Wentworth is one of the most affordable private educations in the Boston area.
What to do for fun If you've found yourself with no work to do, Huntington Avenue (the street the school is located on) is a great place to go for a walk. Within minutes you'll find yourself at the Christian Science Center's reflecting pool, and just a bit further you'll find the Prudential Center.
Food and Dining Food and dining is Wentworth's achilles heal. Contracted out to a company called Chartwells, many students complain of limited hours, bad service, and overpriced food. I personally and inclined to agree. On weekends, the latest a student can eat on campus is 6:30. On weeknights it's 8 pm. Adjacent Northeastern University has late-night (up to 3am) dining options for its students.
Dorm Life Freshman dorming is especially in need of an upgrade. Once past freshman year, there are plenty of options, from the brand-new 555 building to quaint and homey campus-sponsored apartments. Every weekend, Weekends@WIT has programming for students. Sometimes not the best, but it's a good place especially for freshmen to make friends.
Academic Rigor Classes are challenging, especially those that are centered around your major. At least half of your classes from day one will involve your major.
Tips for prospective students Don't expect an easy A, especially in the design (Architecture, Industrial, and Interior) majors. It helps to know a bit about what you want to study beforehand, as unlike other schools, changing majors even a semester in will set you back by a while.
In three sentences Wentworth Institute of Technology is the ideal school for a student that would describe him or herself as an independent, hands on learner. Located in the heart of Boston, this school utilizes it's prime location through an extensive co-op program in which the majority of students land paid job in the Boston area.

What to do for fun I go to some of the campus activities (there are so many). They are so much fun and you can win prizes. I go to other colleges and there activities. There are also clubs and tons of restaurants to try. It is like a mini New York City.
Food and Dining It is absolutely horrible!
Dorm Life It can be fun depending on where you live and your preferences.
Academic Rigor You start working in your chosen major from day one. No room for errors.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you learn some of the programs for your major. It helps tremendously. Especially for the design majors.
In three sentences Wentworth is like one big family. It's a small campus and everyone knows each other. People are friendly and nice. I love it here.

Tips for prospective students Enjoy this campus within Boston!
In three sentences WIT is an excellent school in terms of studying technical related fields. A student would easily feel comfortable in its rather small campus. Though one will be able to fit in with the small number of students, the opportunities it offers are not lacking much from what large university might offer.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Pretty safe, isolated incidents here and there. I would make sure to be in groups late night and be aware of surroundings. But hey this is Boston.
Greek Life There is a nice Greek church that is basically on the campus.
Clubs and Activities I don't have much experience with clubs but if you live on campus you will find one that suites you.
Great for these types of students Driven High Energy Jack of all trades type
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Say hello to the Wentworth Leopard if you see him!
Bang for the buck The reason why you go here: WIT is less expensive than surrounding big name schools, with arguably the same services. Recommended especially if you plan on working in the greater Boston area, as it does have a good reputation.
What to do for fun Their are many groups and clubs to join, decent gym, in a pretty good part of the city. There is always something to do.
Food and Dining Its not great, but they did just put in a new Cafe, and things are improving. Upon attendance to WIT you also have access to surrounding school cafe's.
Dorm Life Does not apply I commute.
Academic Rigor Its not that hard to just pass but if you truly want to be successful you are going to have to work.
Tips for prospective students College at Wentworth is what you make of it. Its not the hardest or most prestigious school, but if you are willing to work hard their are many opportunities that you will gain from attending WIT.
In three sentences Wentworth is an older, yet upcoming school. It has a good reputation, especially in the Greater Boston area. Co-op is essential.

Categories Comments Campus Safety On site campus police with brand knew dodge chargers and ford mustangs. You can't beat that and if you feel unsafe anywhere in the city they will come pick you up and bring you back to your dorm
Clubs and Activities Lots of clubs and activities on campus to do. It is boston however so there is always lots of things to do for fun.
Great for these types of students Great school for students who are geeks and like to game like crazy. The video game club is the most popular are campus. If you are the more athletic type many sports are offered and gyms are new.
Bang for the buck Great bang for you buck. School offeres a scholarship to every student to ease the cost of college tuition which makes things easier being in the boston area. Many clubs and sports on campus to go to so there is always on campus stuff. School also always has events on the weekend for money prizes etc.
What to do for fun Its Boston there is so much to do. 15 colleges within one miles of the school along with sporting events house of blues etc. You will never be bored here if you know where to look.
Food and Dining Food at this school is absolutely terrible most of the days. However, the meal plan is flexible in that you can use it at the five other colleges in the surrounding areas. Food at Mass Art is the best and it is just as long of a walk as to the cafe on campus.
Dorm Life Dorms are mediocre at best depending on what you choose. Not much of an option on campus. Choose the newest dorms since they are only 500 more a semester. Many people recommend those on campus since they are of a higher standard.
Academic Rigor Academically most majors do not get challenging until your sophomore year. The professors are always challenging the students. If a project is easy for you they offer something much more difficult if you choose.
Tips for prospective students Look for scholarships everywhere no matter what school you choose. Go on teacher rating website to choose the best professors the school has to offer. If your looking for an affordable engineering and technology school this is the best place for that.
In three sentences A very small technology and engineering school located in Boston Mass. Class are of small size, however, productive learning environment is strongly encouraged by all instructors. School emphasises coop very highly and is a great way to gain work experience in the field of your choosing.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Wentworth has a great security team and is located right near police and fire stations. The Mission Hill area (nearby) makes people a little nervous.
Clubs and Activities Wentworth has plenty of clubs and hosts 14 Division III sports teams.
Great for these types of students Hands-on Learners, Motivated, Commuters, Transfers, Engineers, Managment, Design, Architecture, Career-oriented, Innovative
Bang for the buck For the amount of hands-on learning, experiential teaching, and co-op, Wentworth Institute of Technology is superb school. Teachers challenge students, but are reasonable (and understanding of nontraditional students).
What to do for fun WIT is right in the middle of Boston, what more is there to say? Boston has a ton of cultural/historical sites, plenty of music and venues, and people from all walks of life. You're also right in the middle of a bunch of colleges, making friends and meeting people is easy. The school itself also host plenty of extracurricular activities and other events.
Food and Dining The dining on campus is so-so, but you also have access to the other Colleges of the Fenway (Simmons, Emmanuel, Wheelock, MCPHS, and MCAD). Boston itself has great food, and plenty of it nearby.
Academic Rigor WIT's curricula are sometimes a bit challenging, but that is true with every college. What really sets it apart is the hands-on, experimental approach to learning. Wentworth has high end equipment and labs, and an excellent co-op system.
In three sentences WIT is an extremely forward looking, technological campus. My experience as a transfer student has been great and very easy. Wentworth also does a great job of taking care of commuter students (I currently live outside of Boston).

Categories Comments Campus Safety At any time at night you may request for the Wentworth School Police to escort you back to your car or to your dorm. They are on duty 24/7.
Clubs and Activities Wentworth has vast types of clubs from Multicultural Student Association, to its own acapella group, mechanical engineer, architecture club, several different culture clubs and green teams.
Great for these types of students Wentworth is a great school for students who desire to major in technology and architecture.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Every year there's a block party on Wentworth's lot. Once in a while you'll see the mascot leopard walking around campus.
Bang for the buck Easy commute and parking spaces since Wentworth provides parking unlike most colleges.
What to do for fun Wentworth is located within walking distance to the MFA, all other colleges of the fenway, Boston Symphony Hall, Newbury Street, Landmark Center. Easy access to trains.
Food and Dining Wentworth's menu has grown since the addition and renovation of its buildings. The cafeteria has undergone major changes and now serves a better selection of food from fried specials to daily pizzas and chicken wraps.
Dorm Life There are a variety of types of dorms that cater to every student. Each dorm is different. There's the classic apartment style and the modernized card swipe and uniform rooms.
Academic Rigor In the architecture program, the work load is very rigorous. All nighters are necessary. Process work for projects are important. Take heed of deadlines. It is easy to get a C but extremely difficult to receive an A for studio grades.
Tips for prospective students College is not the same as high school. Do not expect to study the night before and pass all your tests.
In three sentences Intensive architecture program. Amazing content being taught within different courses. The professors are amazing.

Categories Comments What to do for fun There are plenty of clubs, and some professors offer you challenges to take on in your free time.
Food and Dining Could be better, what do you expect? It's college food. Overpriced for the quantity and quality you get. The only thing that saves them in this department is that the chefs are pretty open to what you want to have.
Dorm Life I've never dormed, so I can't really give information here.
Academic Rigor Wentworth Institute of Technology has stellar professors for Computer Science and Networking. However, I've heard some questionable things about the professors in the other programs. Just make sure to pay attention to ratemyprofessors.com for accurate-ish ratings.
Tips for prospective students Just make sure you do well in your classes and never neglect your studies. Wentworth is a bit pricy to afford, so you'll definitely want all the scholarships you can get. It is a great place to learn, nevertheless. Just make sure to pay attention to ratemyprofessors.com if you want to make sure to have the greatest experience.
In three sentences Wentworth Institute of Technology has a great program for those pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Networking. The professors really know a lot about what they're teaching. All the services offered on campus can really help you get on track for your dream job.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Its Boston, your only limited my your imagination.
Food and Dining Dinning hall food, is dining hall food. Your in the middle of Boston, if you want a break from it you can literally walk 5 minutes in any direction and have something amazing.
Dorm Life There isn't much of a party scene but thats not what most people who come here are looking for. You make great friends and have a good time but school comes first to a majority of the students.
Academic Rigor Architecture is a lot of work but what you put in you get out. You spend countless hours doing projects and design work but it pays off in the end. If you love what you do it doesn't seem like work most the time.

Greek Life none at all
Clubs and Activities there are barely any sports, and the clubs are quite small.
Great for these types of students hard workers, and kids with straight a's in high school.
Bang for the buck For private school, Wentworth is reasonable. Also, they are very good about financial aid.
What to do for fun the city is a lot of fun. Theres a lot of things to do, like ice skating, concerts, clubs, movies, food, parks, and malls.
Food and Dining Massart's cafeteria is far better. Beatty is greasy and limited.
Dorm Life Dorm life is fun, but the housing selection process is stressful. RA's always seem to be on duty, and the halls are usually very quiet. Definitely not a huge party school.
Academic Rigor The engineering programs are really hard, and the architecture program is very time consuming and tedious. The work is reasonable.
Tips for prospective students work really hard, if things seem easy- continue to pay attention or you will get very behind. Attend all classes possible, and dont take professors for granted- there are lots of really good, and also really bad professors.
In three sentences hard work. Lots of fun. Lots of men.

Categories Comments Food and Dining I have heard very bad things about the food here, but it seemed pretty alright to me, albeit maybe a little confusing considering weekend scheduling and stuff. I'm not sure yet.
Dorm Life Dorm life seems pretty normal, considering what else I've seen at other schools. A dorm is a dorm, I suppose.
Academic Rigor VERY excited about the academics here. They sound like a really good fit for people that are interested in a rigorous, technological-oriented education.

Categories Comments Bang for the buck School is expensive. Just sign up for scholarships, and be dedicated. Paying for college is an investment to your future (including the next four years of your college life). Make sure you make it worth it.
What to do for fun I go out a lot! I love Boston! <3
Food and Dining I love the subs at the MassArt cafeteria. The new cafeteria at Wentworth isn't bad, but I love the atmosphere at MassArt more. (MassArt and Wentworth cafeterias are welcome to students of both schools, as well as MCPHS students, because they are part of the Colleges of the Fenway.)
Dorm Life Dorming is awesome, based on the fact that I am no longer living with my parents! The freshman dorms could be better though. The upperclassmen dorms are more exciting, so I can't wait!
Academic Rigor Stay on track and balance your time. Friends and events may be distracting, so manage your time so you can be happy and do well in school at the same time.
Tips for prospective students Your college life is what you make of it. If you do not want it to be boring, you have to get up and get involved! Also, time management is a must!
In three sentences Wentworth is not a big school, and it does not pertain to the wild party life, but the busy city of Boston holds loads of excitement. Wentworth also has many activities held by the the Wentworth Campus Life where students are able to get involved. Wentworth is also part of the Colleges of Fenway, so many students meet through this relationship.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus police are very good about letting students know when something has happened and when and where to be careful.
Clubs and Activities There are lots of clubs and intramural sports to participate in on campus.
Great for these types of students Hard-working and driven students
Bang for the buck You get a very good education here. The faculty is also really good about helping you find a co-op or work for the summer.
What to do for fun We like to go do different things around the city for fun. Going to the MFA or Newberry Street or the north end are really interesting things to do.
Food and Dining The food gets kind of repetitive, but if you dont eat the same thing for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the food is not that bad.
Dorm Life Living in the classic dorm style it is very easy to meet other people and make friends. The friends suites are a nice place to relax because of the extra room and the common room.
Academic Rigor This school, depending on the major, is very time consuming and demanding.
Tips for prospective students When you first start here stay organized and on top of your work. If you allow the work to pile up it will be very difficult to catch up by the due date.
In three sentences Wentworth is a fantastic school. The faculty is very helpful and really cares about their students. This school is demanding and requires going the extra mile, but it is very much worth the effort

What to do for fun You're in Boston, 'nuff said
Tips for prospective students Know what you want to do and stick with it. Study hard.
In three sentences Awesome school. I feel its very specialized, you get accepted here already knowing what you want to do and get a great education in that certain field. There aren't too many majors but that is certainly changing. Many departments of top of the line, competing with some of the top schools.
