As a first year student, you do not need a car. Morgantown is a terrible place when it comes to parking. Luckily, everything on the downtown campus is easy to walk to. To get to classes on the other campuses we have the PRT and a bus system. To get to a class on the Evansdale campus, or Engineering Campus, my advice would be to use the bus system because it is much faster then the PRT. The PRT is best to use when going to the Medical Center or the football field, but I think should be avoided as much as possible because it is old and breaks down a lot. Also, if it is possible to live downtown the first year, that would be the best decision. There is a lot more to do on the downtown campus. My suggestion for dorms on the downtown campus would be Summit Hall, The Honors Dorm, or Boreman South. read full review

Before going to WVU be prepared to walk... a lot. Morgantown is very hilly and there are plenty of stairs. There's also not much parking so even if you end up bringing a car, you'll still find yourself on foot most of the time. read full review
