Its small enough that you'll recognize or know a lot of people, but big enough that everyone is not in your business. The smaller class sizes are a huge advantage because you are able to get more time with the professor when you need help.

WCU is located in a beautiful location in the Appalachian Mountains. LOTS of outdoor activity. Low student to professor ratio.

WCU has great workout facilities, amazing professors that actually care, and a long standing tradition for having an outstanding athletic department. WCU also have a huge greek village and is actively involved in many of the community services around the school.

Western Carolina University, the best underrated college in North Carolina. Wake up to beautiful scenery, and walk to class, where your class sizes will be small, you will make the best friends, and enjoy studying by the tower. Western Carolina University is your school, if you enjoy the outdoors, want to be taught by teachers who have PHDS, in a class setting of thirty or less, and you are okay with not living in a city.

WCU is very in tune with nature and helping the environment. Students here are easy to get along with because they are diverse. The smaller classes makes it much easier to get along with your professors and to get help when it's necessary.
