    It's a great learning community. There's many different majors to pick from. Lastly, it's very economic compared to other schools.

    I really enjoy the classes and the professors as well as campus in general. However, I feel that the drunken parties that occur on a regular basis undermine the value of my degree in the eyes of employers and grad schools. I do believe, however, that we are on the road to becoming a more respected academic facility.

    Western Illinois University in the Quad-Cities has a great Elementary Education program. The school works very hard to make sure all prerequisites are met for both the Illinois, Iowa and surrounding states teacher licensure and endorsements for Jr. High School. WIU keeps current on the frequent state and national policy changes that effect teachers on a regular basis.

    Out of a 1-10 I would rate Western an 8. All advisors are so helpful and teachers are very helpful with anything and are always there when you need them. Everyone is super friendly!

    Western Illinois University is a lively little town with many things to do. School itself is a friendly environment and there is always help for whatever it is you need. Teachers are always willing to meet with students to help them better understand their class.
