    This is something that's debatable. While the cost of food, and other things, on campus is generally outrageous Western offers something most colleges don't: A tuition promise. This ensures that whatever you were paying for tuition your first year follows through for the rest of your time on campus, which can really help when the price of college is constantly going up.

    Especially for instate tuition, this is the cheapest or second in the entire state of Oregon for four year schools. Why pay for basically the same education at a much higher rate and not even see your professor more than a few times?
