    Food and Dining

The cafeteria staff is so awesome they treat you as if you were their daughter/son. They try their best to keep you satisfied and of course hunger free. The facility is always clean and they make sure there's nothing missing like cups, plates, forks etc... The food is sometimes home cooked which in my opinion the best kind there is here.

    Dorm Life

Being part of the soccer team requires me to live in the dorms. I'll have to say it's going well so far yes there may be issues but they can fix. Its an awesome experience to live and you have a lot more responsibility but it can be done.

    Academic Rigor

Nothing in this world is handed to you for free. So yea there well be those hard test and quizzes. Best way to deal with them is always take notes and study because that's the only way to beat them, hard work will always pay off at the end.

    Tips for prospective students

Its a great school to start small and not pay so much for it. The classrooms aren't so big like about 30 to a class. Also there you won't be consider as a number but as your birth name. It will be easier to get to know your teacher well so you can ask them for tips or help whenever your in need.

    In three sentences

Located in Snyder Texas WTC is a great place if you want to start small and build your way up. The whole WTC staff is dedicated in helping you achieve the education you want and helping you succeed in your goals. Your in a big family once you are there and that is a great feeling.

    Campus Safety

Campus is very safe. Any violation of order will be punished as a fine. In worst cases, student will be expelled from college.

    Greek Life

There is no greek life on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

Most active clubs on campus are art,PTK, theater,SSS and SGA. Every semester there are trips for club members or social activities such as plays in theater department. Art gallery show for art department. PTK has own activities which are led by adviser. SSS and SGA have trips and activities a member that joins will be instructed.

Great for these types of students

It is a great school for athletes. We have many talented runners and cowboys. Also, art department offers great experience to art major students. Yet, the school is not big, so if you are ready to spend 2 years on a smaller campus, this place is great.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

I think in 2017 there will be opening of a time campsule on campus. Earliest students wrote some predictions and put it in a time capsule in the center of the campus. Next 2017 students will put their predictions I believe.

    Bang for the buck

It is really affordable school and has some extra scholarships that one can find after one or two semesters spent here. The actual price for attending WTC is lower than it is showed on the web site. Yet, I would discourage anyone byuing books from the bookstore because it can add up another 1000+ to a budget spending.

    What to do for fun

It really depends on a person for what to do for fun. Some kids will be going to parties out of campus. Others will be going out of town for a weekend. Yet, in town there is a park where one can go fishing, jogging, or going to eat out. There isn't much to do on campus alone, however Student Activities department on campus makes some fun days every month. Lottery games, dancing contests and other activities to keep students cheered. Also there is a museum on campus and it has days when students can participate in art show and make some money if their art pieces are bought.

    Food and Dining

Food is good but not great. Every weekday there is something different at the cafeteria. Thursdays are steak days, the best ones according to most students. Yet Tuesdays are not great, fast food is served on some days which I think is not great. For a vegetarian this cafeteria has a salad bar but not every weekday there is something a vegetarian will like; better get used to eat chicken nuggets.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is not a lot of fun, unless you have friends. There are 3 Dorms on campus, 2 of them are active and one is open when number of students exceed. Dorms are clean and safe because security checks them often. After 11 there is no loud music during weekdays. The only problem with Clinton hall is that the temperature in the dorms is not adjustable and the shower sometimes doesn't have hot water, it is not a usual thing but happens once a semester.

    Academic Rigor

Cheating is not allowed at all just like anywhere else. Caught students receive F for the class or will be asked to see Dean of studies. Yet, it is possible for teachers to give one a second chance, but not trust. Some of the teachers don't take late papers and give F, others give a makeup day for exams or missed quizzes.

    Tips for prospective students

Be ready when coming to WTC that there is not much to do in town. Closest big city to WTC is Lubbock and Abilene with about 1:30 hours away from Snyder. Try to register for classes early because some classes full pretty quickly and some of them are offered face to face only once a year. It is better to talk to adviser to set up a plan for classes.

    In three sentences

Western Texas College is an affordable college with a safe campus. Student body is mainly athletes. College staff is student friendly and approachable.

    Clubs and Activities

There is Art Club and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I am proud to say that I am the current President of Art Club and am glad for the opportunity to be their leader. I am also a current member of PTK Honor Society.

Great for these types of students

Students that really want to take it to the next level. The teachers here really push you to get there.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

It is in a small community, a hidden small treasure.

    Bang for the buck

The Art program is exceptional, it is the one thing I'm going to miss here the most. I came here as a Radio Major and it only took one Art class to re-awaken my passion. The teacher is absolutely amazing and loves her job. She loves to see her students improve and is always pushing them to the next level. Because of her, I have really improved and want to continue my education until I reach my final goal of receiving a Masters Degree for Art so I can teach and follow her footsteps as an awesome teacher.

    What to do for fun

The director of student activities here takes care of that a little. He has movie night, brings a hypnotist every now and then, and we have even had magic shows along with an illusionist.

    Food and Dining

The food here is really good, the cooks are nice and they make you feel at home.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are quiet, really comfortable. There is room for yourself and the facilities are great.

    Academic Rigor

Teachers are really easy going, they love their job, and are interested in the students learning.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are an Art geek like me, carry something to eat with you because the Art building will become your home.

    In three sentences

Western Texas College is probably one of the best schools in the nation due to my current experience here. The Art Program is not only awesome by itself but made better by the teacher (Art is also my major.) I am loving my experience here and I want to say that I really don't want it to end.
