Categories Comments Tips for prospective students -School is pretty reputable within the local medical community. -Probably one of the most competitive osteopathic medical schools due to the desirable geographical location in Southern CA. -School really focuses on more practical aspects of medicine. -Curriculum is made specifically to be more board relevant and case-based. -School does not have a strong research program. -Located in Pomona, which is not exactly the safest area.
Bang for the buck This school is probably one of the most expensive schools in the country.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The town isn't very safe but the security on campus is always around.
Bang for the buck The Best Western is a nice place to stay near by.
What to do for fun I just focus on the program when I am on campus.
Food and Dining There is very little to eat in Pamona or on campus. If you want good food you have to drive.
Dorm Life This is a distance program and there is no dorm for nursing.
Academic Rigor It takes a little time to figure out the distance program and how to organize yourself.
Tips for prospective students If you live in another state be prepared to find a preceptor in your own area.
In three sentences The program for Graduate Nursing is convenient. It makes it easy to work and go to school at the same time. There are many different flexible tracks to choose from.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus itself is relatively safe during the daytime, but the area it's in is not. Pomona is shady and ghetto and there has been criminal activity around or on campus, the most common crimes being theft on and off campus. Campus security has kept campus safe, but students should be cautious, especially at night or areas in which there's no security around.
What to do for fun Southern California offers many things to do. The food scene is definitely nothing to scoff at. There's a ski resort area in the mountains about an hour away from campus. Mt. Baldy nearby campus offers rock-climbing, hiking, etc. Club scene is in downtown Los Angeles, bar and nightlife scene in downtown Fullerton. Las Vegas is about a 5 hr drive away, San Diego about 2 hrs. Plenty of beaches around and Temecula is wine country. Can't forget all the theme parks in the area! There is: Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags Magic Mountain in the Los Angeles area. In San Diego, you have: Legoland, Seaworld, San Diego Zoo. Basically anything you want to do for fun, you can most likely find it in Southern California...
Food and Dining The area doesn't offer much in terms of food and dining. There are a few good restaurants here and there, but you basically have to drive everywhere else if you want more variety.
Dorm Life There are no dorms, but there are independent apartment complexes right next to campus.
Academic Rigor Health professional school isn't easy. Schedules can be very hectic and efficient time management is absolutely essential.
Tips for prospective students Each college may have their own different admission process. For the college of optometry, apply early and prepare for the interview. They don't just look at your grades. They want to know about you and if you'll fit the program.
In three sentences This is a multidisciplinary health professional school with 9 different colleges; they're most known for their osteopathic medicine program. The student population is very diverse in terms of personality, age, ethnicity, etc. Their most recent additions are the college of podiatry, dentistry, and optometry.
