    It really helps to become involved around the school. The upperclassmen love the freshman, so don't be afraid to really step out of your comfort zone. It is a great way to meet other students and faculty.

    Make sure to keep your spiritual life in check. You may feel like there's no need to be the light of the world when you're a flashlight in the middle of a floodlight- but it's so easy coast and find yourself completely off track in your spiritual walk with God a couple of weeks or months later.

    Come visit the campus and stay in the dorms to get a good feel of the atmosphere and go to the classes to see what it is really like. The campus visit is crucial to knowing where you want to go and my visit sold me on the school. Get to meet people that are in your prospective major and ask them about their experience.
