    I would suggest coming to visit because this college is different from many others, but if you do want to work with children in any field (Education, special education, social work, etc) than this is the school for you.

    Since Wheelock is known for their education majors I suggest you come sit on on classes and make sure its a good fit for you. I would also stay over night, explore Boston, eat in the dining hall, and talk/hang out with current students.

    Know what you want to do before coming to Wheelock. It is a very specific school based mostly in preparing students to work with children and families (for example, as teachers, social workers, advocates, etc).

    This school is not the typical college experience, at least in my view of what that means. I think of Wheelock as a glorified community college; same atmosphere as a community college but just with a private school price tag. If you live nearby and are considering Wheelock because of it's AMAZING hands-on programs, think about commuting.
