Spokane is a really great city, it is pretty and has great outdoor opportunities: hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, skiing, etc. Whitworth has a number of clubs/ organizations also. There is intramurals too if that interests you.

Spokane is amazing! There are tons of outdoor activities nearby including hiking and skiing (both water and snow). There is plenty of shopping nearby and several movie theaters in town. Spokane has festivals and arts events all the time. The restaurant selection is awesome.

You can almost ALWAYS catch a group of students play ultimate frisbee in the loop or playing in the intramural league. Whitworth offers an array of intramural sports ranging from volleyball to softball, and tennis to frisbee. There are often local artists playing in the coffee shop or a sports event occurring in the field house. Although Whitworth is located on the northern side of town, downtown is only about ten minutes away. In fact, Division Street, the street that Whitworth is located off of, is known as being the one street in the nation with the most restaurants. The street also contains several coffee shops, bars, billiard halls, venues offering famous artists/bands, etc. Coeur D'Alene is also about thirty minutes away and provides a beautiful scenic lake with a variety of activities.

There is so much to do for fun! Try the Pleasant Blends coffee shop down the street for some amazing Chai Tea. Pop into a prime time at any dorm on a given night. Join the swing dancing club that meets on Saturdays and learn to dance. Some of the best fun I ever had at Whitworth though was going to the improv team shows that took place once a month. I don't ever think I laughed so hard I peed my pants until those nights. It's just that funny!

To have fun when there is free time from studying is hanging out with friends, attend sport games, and time to time there are concerts being held at Whitworth! A great experience for students to interact each other and see what a great community that a student can be a part of.

Whitworth is within reach of many recreational opportunities. Located in North Spokane, Whitworth is just a short drive from downtown. Many students also enjoy day trips to Green Bluff in the fall or skiing and snowboarding at the resorts not too far outside of town. More locally there are movie theaters, roller skating, ice skating, mini golf, and other activities for student to enjoy. On campus, students can participate in intramural sports, attend varsity sporting events, go to the brand new rec center, or attend one of the many concerts organized by the student body organization.
