Find an adviser that you get along with and that has majored in a similar field of study. Have the adviser help you plan your semesters, so you can have the best chance of success.

If you're stuck in Wichita, consider Butler County Community College, at least for your first two years. It's much cheaper and has some good professors. On the other hand, the new president at WSU is implementing lots of changes that will affect the entire university. The changes are designed to make WSU better in many ways, from having more online options to applying knowledge in real-world applications.

Students looking at Wichita State University should get involved in Shocker Madness! We have thriving sports programs (Go Shox!) along with other ways for students to get involved. If you're considering Wichita State University, I would ask to get a full tour of the newly renovated Rhatigan Student Center and take a look at the new dorms that are under construction. I suggest you look at what program you're interested in and find out what the other students do during their spare time. You might find that much of it is done right on campus!
