Categories Comments Great for these types of students Students who are all about their studies will definitely find Wilberforce to be a great school.
Tips for prospective students If you are a prospective student of Wilberforce University, you should come here with an open and focus mind for studies, campus life, and diversity.
Am enjoying being here This school is OK...If you are looking to be educated by passionate teachers, then this is the place to be.
Am learning a lot I have learned a lot about Business (my current major) because of my study habits...The teachers just elaborate on the topic; it is up to the student to study.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Campus appeared to be pretty safe. Key cards to get in buildings, private setting.
Clubs and Activities They have all the clubs and extra curricular acitivities that any other HBCU has. Also they have the best choir ever.
Great for these types of students Students that want a caring atmosphere where teachers know your name.
Bang for the buck Excellent cost.
Food and Dining Didn't try the foodl
Dorm Life The dorms were the dorms. Like most they are average. They do have one dorm that houses 2 students and the rooms are the size of a walk-in closet. Good news is that it doesn't cost much to upgrade to a single room.
Academic Rigor I think that the difficulty depends on the student and how much time you intend on studying.
Tips for prospective students Go with an open mind. If you are looking for a small college where your teachers can focus on you then this is the place. They want students to succeed so they seem to be very into one-on-one student/teacher help. The classrooms often only hold 14 kids per class, so that is great if you want to really know your teachers.
In three sentences When I visited the campus, the atmosphere was very family like. The teachers and students all around were very nice.

Categories Comments Campus Safety There is a greater need of campus security. The security we currently have are elders above the age of 50 which is not a safety net at all because of their age. They can not protect us because they are not capable of doing so.
What to do for fun There is not much to do on campus. There needs to be more events executed on campus to eliminate boredum among the students. I am not enjoying my college experience there because there are no fun activities outside of educational hours.
Food and Dining The food and dining conditions are in need of improvement. I have encountered times of where my food is not done. Also, there is not a wide selection of food nutrition as far as healthy selections.
Dorm Life The dorm life is not up to par. The living conditions are horrible and are in need of renovations. There are currently 4 active dormatories on campus. I feel that the next big project that wilberforce takes on financially needs to be geared towards the dormatories.
Academic Rigor The school's curriculum is good but can be better. I have learned a lot while at this institution but it is not as challenging as I expected coming out of high school. There needs to be a higher standard when hiring professors. The best course that I had taken at Wilberforce was the Cooperative Education class. It has taught me a lot on how to be prepaered and how to carry myself in the workforce. The things I have learned I will continue to use that in my future.
Tips for prospective students My advice to prospective students is to get involved on campus. Also do not be afraid to voice your opinion when you feel something is not right. Finally, remember that you are there for an education and that business comes before pleasure.
In three sentences Wilberforce University is a good institution but is capable of doing better. This school teaches students the value of education but I feel like it doesn't challenge the students enough. All this school needs is more support from the students, parents, and community to build a stronger unity.

Categories Comments Campus Safety What more can be said about campus safety than there hasn't been a gun shot anywhere near the campus in years. The only threats to be face here at Wilberforce University is the occasional tornado warning.
Greek Life We have many of the typical HBCU organizations along with a few home grown organizations and clubs. At Wilberforce many of the organization chapters hold a lot of historical meaning and value, making it a privilege to join an organization here. If there isn't an organization that you think fits you here, there is always the option of creating your own
Clubs and Activities The activity life here consist of partying and basketball, especially because there is no football team here. Along with partying and basketball we have many community service projects that are in constant motion and off campus activities that are always being planned.
Great for these types of students If your from the Midwest area and want to be away from home (but not too far away that if you get homesick it cost too much to travel back) this is the place for you. Also if you are from the West coast and you have a passion for proving to your parents I can survive on my own! this is the place for you also.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a place on the roof of the class building that you can see the stars and the moon quite well at night.
What to do for fun Fun always depends on what you can do with what you have, for example a car. There are a number of things that can be done at Wilberforce when you have access to a car. There are parties on and off of campus grounds, there are bowling alleys, skating rinks, and movie theaters near by also. The university is lucky enough to sit between 4 high volume malls that transportation travels to on a regular bases.
Food and Dining The cafeteria staff is one of respect. They are very nice when treated with respect and firm when treated otherwise. The food is always filled with nutrients needed for a good bodily upkeep. Sufficient for a decent dietary regiment.
Dorm Life The dormitories are always a fun and lively. We have the respectable quiet hours allowing peace for studying and sleeping, along will class rooms inside the dorms for study sessions and tutoring. Wilberforce University offers both single gendered and co-ed dormitories. All dorms are of acceptable standard.
Academic Rigor The academic life here is what you make of it. Nothing at Wilberforce will be handed to you but the small community allows one on one assistance from the professors when sought after. Any assistance/ amenities needed are in arms reach but like any other university you have to seek if you shall find.
Tips for prospective students In coming to Wilberforce University it is suggested to come prepared to work. There are many times in which the professors will throw you into the water and expect you to be about to swim, so to speak. Don't expect the university to be anything like the campus of Purdue, for we are almost surrounded by corn fields, but expect to have a great time here.
In three sentences Wilberforce University is a very family oriented institution. Its atmosphere is just above average, having both good and bad times. The campus facilities are moderate but comforting.

Food and Dining we eat the same food every week, ABL food service Suck. rude and nasty employees cooking.
Dorm Life Dorms are horrible period point blank. very nasty mold old dorms ceiling falling only one shower works in the community bathroom. just horrible
Academic Rigor Some classes are hard other classes are very easy.
Tips for prospective students Do your research for yourself people lie about the school to make it look better.
In three sentences Wilberforce University is a small family oriented school. you meet nice people there. there is nothing to do on campus, so i will give it a 4.

Categories Comments Greek Life I love the greek life here because they were always motivated! You heard shouts and calls throughout the campus whenever a special event was going on. They were active in the community around the school and had a lot of showmanship.
Food and Dining The food was okay. The only good days were when it was pizza being served or stir fry. The bad thing about those days were the chaos that came with it. Students would be knocking each other over just for a slice of the delicious homemade pizza
Dorm Life The dorm life was not that great if you wasn't a honor student from you high school or in college. I was lucky to live in the new and nicer dorms. The older dorm buildings on the other hand were very small, and prison like. Yes I meant prison like.
Academic Rigor As far as Academics Wilberforce university did have a good teacher to student ratio. I liked the fact that the class average size were about 20:1. This meant that the teacher not only knew your face but your name. That is always a good thing!

Categories Comments Great for these types of students Wilberforce Univerisity is for any person that likes the smaller sized campuses, seeking more attention from their teachers and other faculty.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus has a fountain located up on the hill, that every person attending the university is introduced to during their first week. Also, during freshman week before the upperclassmen return to the campus, there is a candle lighting ceremony and as seniors during the week they graduate, another ceremony is held.
What to do for fun Wilberforce University is located around the corner from Central State University, most of the activities will come from the two school uniting together to put events together. There are several organizations on campus that will have events, both for academic purposes and entertainment. There are always different things happening throughout the semesters for one to participate.
Food and Dining The cafe is the main source of food on campus, but it does provide tasteful food. The food may not always be the healthiest, but the cooks will provide separate food orders for any person with health issues.
Academic Rigor Many downplay the work given from the teachers, but in all actuality the work is very challenging. The academic assignments are time consuming and require one to give all effort when completing them.
Tips for prospective students I advise that anyone seeking to attend Wilberforce, comes in with an open mind. Be willing to meet new people from many different areas and don't lose focus on why you are there.
In three sentences Wilberforce University is a family oriented university. The university prides itself on its students and the experiences they encounter. The faculty and staff make it their main priority that each and every student receives the education that they paid for.
