Categories Comments Great for these types of students Jews who love Torah and know that it is important nowadays to have a college degree to ultimately benefit humanity.
Tips for prospective students Spend a day in your morning program, see if you feel comfortable. If you do not enjoy what your are doing in the morning, then college (YU in particular) will lead to a head of gray. It's Torah U'Madda (Torah and secular knowledge), only with a solid Torah foundation can you truly succeed in everything else. That being the case, make sure your in the right spot during the morning hours.
Bang for the buck If you are interested in the medical, psychological, business, or law field while balancing your yeshiva courses; Then YU is worth every penny!
Am enjoying being here Great Rabbeim! Great Professors! Modest Campus! Delicious Kosher Food! Nice Dorm...what's not to like?
Am learning a lot With Judaic studies in the morning and secular courses in the afternoon, your day is filled with inspiring and useful information.

Academic Rigor yeshiva university has an honors program for students who score at least 700 on both the math and english part of the sat. this allows students to take special courses and participate in stimulating educational and cultural opportunities.

Categories Comments Campus Safety The campus doesn't have the best security but the NYPD patrols the campus. So that makes us feel more safe.
Greek Life There is one fraternity on campus: Alpha Epsilon Pi. They are about to receive their charter this month.
Clubs and Activities There are some OK clubs and activities on campus.
Great for these types of students Orthodox Jewish upbringing.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus is an all guys campus and there is a sister campus in Midtown. There is also a free shuttle that you can sign up for that takes you between the two campuses.
Bang for the buck Not really the best place to go for the price they charge.
What to do for fun Your in New York City, so there is a lot to do. Lots of museums, historical sites, bars, and other college campuses to visit.
Food and Dining The food is OK. Nothing to brag about, but they have some good food sometimes.
Dorm Life The dorm life is not great here. Most people move off campus after the first or second semester of being here.
Academic Rigor Most of the degrees here are difficult.
Tips for prospective students If you already know your major get in contact with a current student at YU before pick your schedule. Ask them which teachers to take. Otherwise you might get stuck with a very bad teacher.
In three sentences The duel program is extremely challenging and time constraining. The professors aren't the best, but they are good. The social life on campus isn't that great.

Categories Comments What to do for fun Play sports and discover the city!
Food and Dining A bit repetitive and cafeteria is not open enough hours.
Dorm Life Dorm life is very warm and active. Lots of activities happening on every floor. Awesome RAs. After freshman year, leave the Brookdale dorm.
Academic Rigor Tear one, rated 49 in the country. Extremely rigorous, dual curriculum as well. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Tips for prospective students -get that SAT score! -look up the teachers before you take their course -if you plan to major in medecine, prepare for sleepless nights
In three sentences YU is a great private university for those with a passion for Judaism who seek an excellent secular education as well. YU is located in the heart of NYC and campus life is anything but dull. There is a great sense of pride and warmth at every corner.

Categories Comments Campus Safety Very Safe.
Greek Life None.
Clubs and Activities They got a bunch, and it is easy to create more if you want to take the initiative.
Bang for the buck They keep things updated but you really don't have time to use everything.
What to do for fun Hang out, go downtown.
Food and Dining Always ready on time, and decent, price is outrageous though.
Dorm Life All boys dorm, since it is a religious school, so don't expect the classical party life movies portray.

Tips for prospective students Be prepared to work hard, and budget your time wisely.
In three sentences I had a very enjoyable time in this institution. I got a great education, met my wife here, and made lifelong relationships. One thing that was quite difficult, is with the dual curriculum, it is not so easy to get internships and explore career options in the real world, even with being located in NYC.

Categories Comments Clubs and Activities There are a lot of different clubs, and if you can't find one that matches your interests, you can always create your own if you can find like-minded students.
Great for these types of students Students interested in Judaism
Bang for the buck YU is pretty expensive but if you can get financial aid or scholarships, it is definitely worth it.
What to do for fun YU is in Manhattan, just a short distance from shopping, Broadway, Central Park, and a variety of museums.
Food and Dining The food selection isn't that great and many students find it difficult to find what to eat on a daily basis.
Dorm Life There are 4 dorm buildings, one of which has a caf store on the ground floor with food and other necessities. The social scene varies by dorm, but it's easy to find one that suits you. There are two dorm buildings with single rooms, one building with shared rooms, and one building for seniors with luxury 4 or 6 person apartments.
Academic Rigor YU has an intense double workload that can be stressful at times, but it's rewarding and you end up learning a lot.
Tips for prospective students If you're looking to attend YU, figure out how to pay for tuition well in advance because it can be pricy. Also, make sure to talk to current students and alumni to see what advice you can get specifically for you.
In three sentences Yeshiva University is a great place for Jewish students, both religious and non-religious. The academics, professors, and social scene fit a variety of students. Located in Manhattan, it is also close to a lot of cultural attractions.
