Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned a lot, but it has been tarnished by a few professors who are not as sympathetic to first year students' struggles while adjusting to college life/schoolwork/expectations.
Am enjoying being here I love the size of the campus. Its just big enough that there are many different opportunities, but small enough that instructors actually get to know you as more than a number.
Bang for the buck In comparison to the private school I was looking at, this is much more financially responsible as a choice. There are a lot of good things on campus that the money goes towards, and they all enhance the college experience.
Tips for prospective students Know that it is a notorious party school. If you are not ready for that type of an atmosphere, then it might not be the best place for you.
Great for these types of students Great for students coming from smaller to medium sized communities. Especially if they are looking to go to a larger city after graduation. It is a good transition size.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot BGSU has great entering freshman programs that help you learn and understand a lot about the campus. It also is good for undecided students and it helps you find your major quicker. There are also many places that offer free tutoring and the teachers are very accessible.
Am enjoying being here BGSU campus is not too small or too big. Its not a very urban environment but, if you just want to escape to the city sometimes you can go to Toledo its only 20 minutes away. I have many friends and I love my dorm.
Bang for the buck All of the food places around BGSU offer discounts so it very affordable for college students. There are many places such as BW3s and Dairy Queen. The school also offers a lot of scholarships and it sometimes leads to people getting BIG refund checks.
Tips for prospective students Just make friends, fill out scholarships, and make the best of the options given to you.
Great for these types of students All Majors

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot After about the first week in a class you know how things are going to be run and what teaching style that class uses. It is true that some teachers are more difficult than others but they are the ones you want to go for. You will always know with them that you are getting everything that subject has to offer.
Am enjoying being here It is a fun place to be but if you need a big city life this really isn't the place. However, there are many places on campus available to students. I love going to the rec for hours at a time. You can work out, go rock climbing, or go for a swim in either of the two pools.
Bang for the buck Always fill out your FAFSA
Tips for prospective students Keep whatever information they give you at orentation. You can actually use a lot of it.
To make it feel more at home join a club, team, or group.Great for these types of students This school is great for students that want a middle of the road school based on size.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The class size and the accessibility to the professors during class and also during office hours is what has made me succeed. The class size at Bowling Green is well sized and very comfortable which makes it easy to build a relationship with your fellow classmates and professors. If you are willing to go the extra mile to get a good grade, so will your professors.
Am enjoying being here Bowling Green is always enjoyable. The atmosphere is very welcoming and there is always activities planned for on and off campus. The people are very pleasant and are always willing to help if necessary. The dorm life is exceptional, and has been a great experience for myself and I would recommend it for both first and second year students. I wouldn't choose any other college. GO BGSU FALCONS!
Bang for the buck Bowling Green is very beautiful, but it is also very expensive. But money should not hold you back. There are many opportunities for scholarships given by Bowling Green for incoming freshman and also upper-classmen as well.
Tips for prospective students Bowling Green is a great college for someone who wants to have a great college experience. They are always entertaining their students. It was very hard for me to leave my family my freshman year of college, but BG made the transition easy. Always go to college with an open mind and a willingness to try new things!
Great for these types of students Bowling Green is known for their Education and Business Programs, but that isn't all they offer. They offer many different majors and also different and unique class choices that give people the opportunities to widen their views and experiences while in college. Anyone can attend Bowling Green and have the experience they always wanted, just like I have.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Although I do not believe that college is quite as hard and scary as high school teachers make it out to be, you do need to apply yourself if you want to learn. I make sure that I always keep up on the reading and study the material learned from time to time before it comes time for the test, and because of this I feel as if I am learning a lot and really taking advantage of the college experience.
Am enjoying being here I fell in love with BGSU upon my first visit, but when the time came close to actually come here, I began to get cold feet. My mind was racing with questions and I wondered if I made my decision too quickly and thought I was going to be miserable for the next four years. My first day here changed that completely and my mind was at ease. From the first time you step on the campus, all of the current students and faculty are more than happy to help you with whatever you may need. The entire first weekend was filled with different activities to get you involved with activites on campus and also gave you many opportunites to make new friends!
Bang for the buck Compared to other colleges and universities that I looked into, BGSU is in the middle price wise. Anywhere you choose to go is going to be expensive, but I really do believe I am getting my money's worth here! The campus staff truly wants you to succeed and in order to ensure that you do, there are always informative sessions going on about job opportunities on campus and off, internships, clubs, activites, volunteering, etc. The list is really endless!
Tips for prospective students My best advice for future students is to make sure that you love the college you pick. Like I said, I fell in love with BGSU right away. There was nothing about it I did not like and because of that, I know I chose the right college. If you are unsure about certain aspects of the college, ask students, not administrators. The current students will tell you what they really think of the university instead of an administrator trying to sell you the college!
Great for these types of students BGSU is great for a student that wants a real college experience. It is the complete opposite of high school because the campus population is so big and because of this, the opportunities for you to grow as a person are endless!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I would have to say that I am learning alot. Im becoming a better writer as well as a better student.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love it here! The people are so nice and willing to help you with whatever you need. And the professors want you to do your best so therefore you cant get help from them anytime.
Bang for the buck You do get a lot of new experieces and your getting a higher curriculum but its very expensive. Then you have to pay for other things while in school.
Tips for prospective students When you come in as a entering freshman, let the tutoring center be your best friend. I go there for evertything ranging from college algebra to philosophy.
Great for these types of students Great for students that love to communicate with others, who want to succeed in life, love to walk (there will be alot of walking to keep you in shape), and have a thirst for learning!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The education that is offered at Bowling Green is pretty good. It is comparable to other public universities in Ohio, such as Toledo, Akron, Kent, and Youngstown. It does have a very good education program if you plan on becoming a teacher.
Am enjoying being here Bowling Green is a nice school to be at. There are plenty of things do so and there are tons of organizations that you can become part of. You will almost never be bored unless you want to.
Tips for prospective students Have frequent meetings with your academic adviser. BG recommends that you do it once a semester, and that is very true. I am a second year student and I still meet with my advisers frequently.
Great for these types of students Any student will succeed at Bowling Green. You just have to be motivated enough to want to succeed.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Every campus has those few professor that are just horrible and there are definitely some of those here, but most of the professors are really good. They care about their students and I've come away from quite a few classes with new mentors.
Am enjoying being here I really enjoy BG's campus and the city even. BGSU has literally a ton of student organizations so everyone can find a place they fit in. It's a small town with a lot of bars and a lot of small business.
Bang for the buck Bottom line college is expensive! Living on campus on BG can be pretty pricey but with gas prices so high driving more than 15 minutes to get to campus a day would cost just as much.
Tips for prospective students The university is VERY strick about parking so be ready to swallow high cost in parking tickets if you don't watch out. The bookstore is very overprice so if possible buy your books online. Amazon is your best bet.
Great for these types of students BG is a liberal, artsy college and because of that there's always something going on in the commons or on campus. Also once a semester there is a week long, campus wide game of tag with nerf guns. As long as you can deal with these kind of distractions or if student interaction is what you thrive on, BGSU is the school for you.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Bowling Green has offered many opportunities to learn through experience as well as lecture. As an educator, I recognize that learning occurs through doing, and this college has provided just that through field placements and volunteering opportunities.
Am enjoying being here In the two years I have attended this school, I have built a strong group of friends who have made college more than enjoyable. The campus is beautiful, and its plans for the future are very exciting. Downtown and on-campus entertainment is exceptional as well.
Bang for the buck Much field experience which allows me to see what to expect from the classroom of today and countless chances to network.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in at least one or two organizations. Also, consider learning communities, like the Arts Village and PCC. I have been in both, and have greatly enjoyed the community atmosphere and other opportunities.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot Bowling Green State University was quite an experience for my freshman year of college. I am a student athlete, so I had a lot on my plate. I think the school is great. My teachers were very helpful and I learned a lot in each of my classes. I loved all of my classes.
Did enjoy being here On the sports side, I did not like my coach at all and that is a reason I am transferring. That and I want to be closer to home. BG is a small town so there isn't a ton to do on the weekends unless you don't mind travelling up to Toledo or Maumee. Overall, I would recommend BG if you are looking for a small D1 school filled with opportunities.
Bang for the buck BG was definitely more expensive for me. I come from a family of 6 so it was more of a struggle for us to keep up on everything, but there are so many scholarship opportunities that it is worth it.
Tips for prospective students Make sure if you have a teacher's assistant that does not speak English as their primary language that you ask questions when you have them. Go to your instructor if you need help. Do not hesitate to ask questions, that's why you have instructors and teacher's assistants.
Great for these types of students If you are looking to expand and learn and meet new people, BG has a great environment for all of these. BG has a great educational program also.

Am enjoying being here I am currently a freshman so I'm still adjusting but I love it here for the most part!
Bang for the buck For such a large school, the tuition is amazingly low.
Tips for prospective students Don't wait to apply. With so many students applying, spots fill up fast. And if you get in and decide to go, bring a box fan.
Great for these types of students Students with big personalities and those who like to stay busy!!!

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot Most of the programs can be designed to fit you, with what you wish to learn, especially if it a general major that can be broken down into multiple subjects. One example is the telecommunications program. You can specialize in radio, or television, or even the technical side of things. Make sure that you meet with a member of the department or an admissions counselor to get a better feel of a certain program.
Will enjoy being here The college is practically like a small town. The campus makes up most of the town and everything is within walking distance. There are so man different things that you can do on or off campus.
Bang for the buck There are many scholarship opportuinities that you can apply for. For a larger size school, you would think that the tution would be higher, but it is reasonably low for the size.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There has been a lot of overlap from high school and the information taught on campus. However, I have simply been taking general education classes, so this is to be expected. The professors here are awesome and are always willing to help if you ask for it.
Am enjoying being here The people here are very friendly and always willing to help if you need it. The opportunities here are fantastic and endless.
Bang for the buck It has been an overall great experience and definitely worth the money!
Tips for prospective students Make sure to tour the campus during the winter, the winter weather is unbelievably cold and windy! Be prepared for the wind!
Great for these types of students BG is great for any type of student. There is something here for everyone and it is so easy to find some place where you truly fit in.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot A lot of students dislike general education classes - but BGSU offers a wide variety of these gen eds, to allow students to take classes that fit their interests. I really enjoyed my Ethnic Studies class, and other classes outside of my major, which I wasn't expecting.
Am enjoying being here BGSU is a great place for artists of all kinds - architects, musicians, dancers, writers, painters, etc. The new construction going on is a little inconvenient, but i know it will be great. The university always has stuff going on - both on-campus and off. You don't have to be a part of the party scene if you don't want to, there's always an alternative. (Of course, if that's more your style, there's plenty of that too!)
Bang for the buck Coming from Michigan, BGSU was one of the better schools as far as out-of-state tuition fees are concerned. I don't regret my decision at all. Don't let the bill stop you from attending BGSU if this is where you want to be!
Tips for prospective students Take as many college visits as you can, you want YOUR university to feel like home. Don't worry about the city itself - your freshman year you probably won't leave campus too much. While you're here, always go see professors during office hours - they love talking to college kids! Also, don't go home at least for the first month. Let yourself get used to being at college.
Great for these types of students Artistic and open-minded. Like any large university, there are a lot of different types of people. There is Veritas, the Catholic group, and there's also a gay fraternity. BGSU is more diverse than I expected, and I love it. There's also a lot of people at BG from small towns, so don't think you'll be overwhelmed if you're from a farming community.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot They seem to have promising programs for many different kinds of majors and a very friendly atmosphere if you don't mind a bit of a party scene.
Will enjoy being here I know many students who already attend and from what I have heard it is a great place to be and I look forward to that experience.
Bang for the buck They've given me 2/3 of my cost of going there and I'm still working with them on financial options. They are very easy to work with in SFA and don't mind endless questions and concerns about affording an education there, especially with the added cost of being out of state.
Tips for prospective students Apply as soon as you can so you can apply for some of the bigger scholarships that have winter deadlines even if you may not attend the next fall.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I hear that Bowling Green has plenty of programs and classes. It is known for its education programs, so if you want to be a teacher, this could be the school for you.
Will enjoy being here There are tons of activities to do on campus. I get emails about some of their activities and when they are. Plus you could walk down the street and there are some restaurants and stores to browse around in. It is in a town setting and the city of Bowling Green itself isn't very big, but it is a nice town to be in. I believe I will enjoy being there.
Bang for the buck Even though it may seem costly, Bowling Green is no more expensive than other colleges. Its expenses are just about the same for every state school in Ohio. If you think it too expensive, there is always Firelands campus in Huron, Ohio for people who live close to Huron. There are also a ton scholarships to look for on their website.
Tips for prospective students I would go to one of BGSU's preview days. I went to one in October and I learned much about the school, majors, financial aid, and housing.
Great for these types of students It is great for people who would like to go to college in a town setting, but not great for students looking for a city college. It is great if you want a bigger campus but if you want a small college, this isn't the college for you because BGSU has about 20,000 students attending.

Will enjoy being here The more I go to their open houses, the more I learn about it and the more I discover new offerings I believe I would enjoy.
Bang for the buck I think it is as best as you can get specially based on the attention you will be receiving

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Very True. Especially now that the campus is going through a lot of new improvements for both the residents halls and the classrooms. BGSU takes pride and focuses on incorporating innovate application to help enhance each students learning experience. Also, I truly love how involved and committed my professors are to seeing me excel as a student and professional. For example, in preparation for the Career Day Job Fair one of my business professors started a college wide event called Open Season. For this event, any business faculty or students could ask for us to give our personal career value proposition/ 2 minute pitch.
Am enjoying being here I hear all the time from incoming freshmen or visitors that they became interested in BGSU because all of the people here are so friendly and outgoing. This was true in my case as well! Also, I love how diverse this campus is, in all aspects, from cultures, languages, student organizations, and so much more. There is something here to match everybody's interests!
Bang for the buck As a non- resident of Ohio I truly know how expensive it can be to pay for college. However, BGSU prides itself in creating financial opportunities for students based on: need, interests, academic performance. For example, President Leadership Academy is a highly competitive full ride scholarship program for graduating high school seniors. Not only will the university pay for your school for 4 years, if accepted, but they will also help you to develop into the best leader that you can be.
Tips for prospective students Aim for highest score possible on ACT/SAT (can receive admission scholarship on that number along with high school GPA), apply for President Leadership Academy (PLA) if finances are a issue, join AT LEAST one student organization during college (best way to people others with similar interests)
Great for these types of students Love diversity and working with all kinds of people/situations, not really a specific type of person that should apply here. I was born and raised in the city but Bowling Green is a small town- and I love it!!

Categories Rating Comments Academic Rigor the professors are great and there are a ton of classes to choose from. (remember, this is college, meaning you will get out of it what you put into it.) i would highly recommend taking some random classes just because they sound interesting even if they don't pertain to your major; it all adds to the experience. there will always be professors you don't really agree with, but overall, they are very knowledgeable and work hard to help you understand the material if you put the effort into it.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE it! I have made so many good friends and there is always something to do. There's a lot of diversity in interests among both students and professors. People have the idea that it's a party school, but there are definitely other things to do if you don't want to party. If you want to party, you will find them, if you don't, you can avoid them for the most part.
Bang for the buck one of the cheapest universities in the area, and i still think i'm getting the full college experience. like most things, you get out of it what you put into it.
Tips for prospective students this is college, the professors aren't going to baby you, you have to do the work. also, you might not always agree with everything your peers and/or professors say or think, but it's good to keep an open mind. as far as housing goes, you don't need to live in the new, fancy dorms; harshman and kriecher might be a little farther from most things on campus, but they are awesome!
Great for these types of students coming from a small private school, it's a really good size for me. it's big enough that i can surround myself with a ton of different kinds of people, but it's not so big that it's overwhelming.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I really am learning a lot here. Don't come in thinking it is easy, because it's not. It is hard work and it takes a lot of dedication, but it is completely worth it.
Am enjoying being here The people are the best. I was walking with one of my friends just to explore campus and this random guy asks us if we need any help getting anywhere. It was awesome. I was extremely glad when I picked BG.
Bang for the buck Like any college, it is expensive. The thing is the money we spend is for good reasons. I was looking into a different school at first. BG ended up winning my heart over.
Tips for prospective students It IS a party school. I see people going to them all the time, however, you don't have to like partying to go. You can find plenty of friends who don't. Trust me.
If you don't plan on working your butt off and try to do well or If you plan on partying all the time, I suggest you don't go.Great for these types of students I came from a small high school. I graduated with 100 or so people. This was a HUGE transaction for me. There are several groups you can join and be the person you want to be. If you enjoy being around people, this is the school for you.

Will enjoy being here The campus is not to big but not to small which allows you to know a wide range of friends but not feel so overwhelmed. BGSU has a homely feeling to the campus where you feel right at home when your away from home.

Am enjoying being here I'm a transfer from Miami University so it's.... different. As far as the environment goes anyway. The students are very friendly as well as the professors & other staff
Bang for the buck it's pretty cheap whether you're in or out of state & the professor there are excellent!
Tips for prospective students Parties is mainly what all high school students think about when the word college is spoken. And while BGSU DOES have some fun parties, you won't be able to really enjoy them unless you've done that 10 page paper due tomorrow at 8 AM.
In short, do your work & you'll have 10 times more fun at parties!Great for these types of students Open minded

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences BGSU is a beautiful school with friendly people. There is someone always willing to help. Teachers are always willing to do what they can, and no classes are to difficult that no one will pass.
Tips for prospective students Do not fall behind, and do not over do it on the weekends. Never procrastinate.
Academic Rigor Teachers are great and always willing to help.
Dorm Life The people are great, friendly and always ready to help out. People in the dorms become family fast.
Food and Dining Food is good depending where you go. The all you care to eat places on campus are disgusting, I do not recommend them to anybody.
What to do for fun There is always somebody waiting to play basketball, football, hockey and a lot of other things, plus the great night life.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I really love the campus and all the people I've met on my few trips to the campus. The teachers seem awesome, as with any school. I can't wait to attend as a full-time student.
Tips for prospective students Apply, whether you think you'll attend or not. Take a tour or two, talk one-on-one with someone who already attends. As with any college, you need to hear it from different perspectives.
Academic Rigor I do not attend yet, but from what I can tell, it's tough in a good way. It's like most schools - some classes are easier than others. I think.
Dorm Life You choose for the most part where you're staying. The people are like people everywhere. Most you can get along with, and hopefully you won't have to hurt anyone. :)
Food and Dining There are many options, and the food is good.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Always something fun and/or exciting going on around campus. Prices are moderate (not too high but not cheap).
Academic Rigor Many classes are challenging academically. Few are geared a little easy and don't challenge me personally.
Dorm Life Can't really comment on this as I have never lived in the dorm. I have family in the area so I was able to live with them.
Food and Dining Haven't ever gotten anything I didn't like. Many places around campus make it nice to have choices without leaving campus.
Bang for the buck It is a little more pricey than what I would prefer but you do get your moneys worth for the most part except for books. BGSU is great at creating their own version of books which means you can't find alternative places to buy them and then have a difficult time reselling them.
Campus Safety I feel pretty safe on campus. There is always lots of other students around, campus police, shuttles at night, all around pretty safe campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I would give Bowling Green State University an overall score of 4 out of 5 stars. BGSU is a great school, featuring challenging courses and outstanding faculty and staff. BGSU upholds many values including tolerance, acceptance, and diversity.
Tips for prospective students If considering applying to BGSU, make sure to have a FASFA filled out. Many scholarships are provided based on financial need, which could make or break your decision to attend BGSU.
Academic Rigor The academics at Bowling Green State University are challenging, but not overbearing. Faculty and staff are encouraging and want each student to succeed, so they are very helpful in providing tutoring and supplemental learning if needed.
Dorm Life The dorms are fairly nice, and come in a variety of price ranges and sizes. Each floor has a Residential Advisor who is there to help residents in any way possible. Students can choose the dorm, floor, and room they would like to live in., which is very nice as well.
Food and Dining BGSU offers a wide variety of dining choices, with two new buffet style facilities that are very popular. It is easy to make healthy choices in each of the dining facilities as well.
What to do for fun BGSU has an incredible amount of activities that students can join in for fun. There is always an athletic event going on, and students get in each for free! For those not into sports, the city of Bowling Green is filled with wonderful shops and pubs, each of which are unique and always provide a good time!
Bang for the buck BGSU is a great college for the money spent. Although tuition is on the rise, prospective students will not regret the decision to finance their education at Bowling Green State University.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One of my personal favorite unusual locations on campus is the greenhouse. The keeper of the greenhouse is a very friendly and welcoming individual who is eager to help students or just show them the amazing variety of plants growing there.
Great for these types of students BGSU is great for many types of students, but especially for those who are outgoing and hard working. These students tend to flourish at BG because there are so many ways to get involved.
Clubs and Activities There are tons of clubs and organizations available on campus. Getting involved is easy and highly encouraged throughout the college. There is literally a club for any interest, and if you cannot find something that interests you, it is possible for any student to make their own club.
Greek Life BGSU supports many units of Greek life. There are many chances to join in if interested, and each house it great! Each sorority or fraternity has a charity that they do fundraising for, as well as providing much needed school spirit throughout the year.
Campus Safety Although there have been a few scares throughout the year, I am confident in saying that BGSU is a safe campus overall. The school provides escorts for students at anytime, has it's own police force, bus routes that are designed to eliminate walking alone at night, and many more services that facilitate a safe environment for all students.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It has a great atmosphere and people who are always willing to help out. Everyone intermingles so it hard to tell a difference between the classes unless you ask. All round it's a really nice campus.
Tips for prospective students Some teachers aren't as good as other but this also depends on your learning style. Definitely ask around to figure out who the best teachers to take are. Don't be too nervous going in the campus is not as big as it seems and within a few weeks you'll know all around campus.
Academic Rigor This really depends on your major. Some majors require much more work than others and are definitely more time consuming.
Dorm Life The dorm life is amazing! I made some of my best friend living in the dorms my first year.
Food and Dining For the most part the food and dining is good but when it comes to the all you can eats you might want to go online and check menus to find the best food.
What to do for fun There's a lot to do for fun for the non-party people like me. There parks that aren't to far off campus and typically some UAO organized event going on.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus On of the traditions you could say on campus is to always walk to right of the seal or you will fail all your classes. Another one is that if you and your significant other stand on top the seal during a full moon and share a kiss that you will get married to that person.
Great for these types of students I think in general it's pretty welcoming to everyone.
Clubs and Activities There's the marine lab, Marine Biology Association, Beta Beta Beta, UAO, Red Cross, etc. There are so many clubs and activities to choose from on campus. So get involved!
Campus Safety I always feel pretty safe of campus there aren't many times when I am afraid to walk out at night.

Tips for prospective students Find what you like to do early and try to join as many student associations as possible. Even better would be to get involved in club sports.
What to do for fun Bars, The Recreational Center, Go To Toldeo
Bang for the buck Good for in state students.
Great for these types of students Students who want a great party.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Bowling Geen Stae University is a very diverse campus. I admire it because the faculty and staff reach out to the students because they genuinely care about them. I honestly feel like BGSU has so many different opportunities for students to network for job opportunities and to gain experience in their field of choice before graduation.
Tips for prospective students The most helpful tip I have to offer for prospective students is to GET INVOLVED! Take advantage of all of the programs available to them. There are so many organizations geared toward student development and guidance like S.M.A.R.T., Student Support Services and a host of others that will help them better their future. Being involved in different organizations and taking on internships will greatly better their chances of getting a successful job in their post- graduation lives.
Academic Rigor Academics at BGSU are very challenging and competitive for students. BGSU students, faculty and staff take pride in their academics and strive to produce nothing less than greatness. Their are many programs for students to get tutors in math, reading writing and just about any subject you can think of. I love this because there is an unlimited supply of help for students who have difficulty with their classes. There is the library, the learniing commons and the writing and math center.
Dorm Life Dorm life at BGSU is great! I love how the resident advisers are constantly having activities and informational programs for students in order to reach out to them and make sure that they have the resources that they need. These programs help students resolve conflict with their roommates and also gives them tips on studying. BGSU just built two new gorgeous state of the art dorms in addition to the seven that were already present. They are air conditioned with comfortable lounges for students to study quietly and they also have places to eat and by groceries in them.
Food and Dining The food and dining halls are very nice as well. I tell everyone that when it comes to food, BGSU spoils their students! There are so many different places to eat comfortably and many different varieties of healthy foods to eat. Every dorm has a dining hall or some sort of food place in it in addition to the places in the student union. The greenery is my favorite place to eat!
What to do for fun For fun, I enjoy going to see old historical movies in the Gish film theater in Hannah hall. I also love to talk walks around campus with friends and go to different programs that student organization put together.
Bang for the buck BGSU is very much worth attending. They offer various scholarships for students in need from all different backgrounds.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One unusual tradition at BGSU is the University seal. It is a round seal in the middle of campus and you must ALWAYS walk to the right of it! If you walk to the left of it, you will fail your next exam! Its has also been said that University hall is haunted as well as the Gish film theater!
Great for these types of students BGSU is a great school for any student who wants to build a better future for themselves and who is not afraid to take action. BGSU encourages students to step out of their comfort zone and meet new people from all different types of backgrounds.
Clubs and Activities While attending BGSU, I was able to start my own student organization with help of others. My organization is called Black Girls Rock BG and it is geared towards encouraged unity and friendship among African American college women. There is a lot of conflict in the African American community among women and I wanted to start and organization built towards resolving that conflict. An organization built to empower these women. BGSU has a host of organizations for students to get in to to make them feel welcomed and accepted. These organizations range from applying to their majors, social life, ethnic background, sexual orientation, politics and so much more!
Greek Life Greek life is very important at BGSU. there are so many to choose from. Greek life can range from social sororities and fraternities to business and cultural sororities an fraternities. These organizations are geared toward scholarship, leadership and fellowship and they promote unity amongst each other.
Campus Safety BGSU promotes a very safe environment for their students. Campus police and campus safety are always patrolling the campus to keep things in order, as well as the Bowling Green police. BGSU keeps students updated with campus update on any mischief that goes on. Safety first!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Bowling Green State University is a great college academically and socially. This university gives you the opportunity to explore your interest and figure out which major is best for you. The staff here are so welcoming and are always willing to help you with your career.
Tips for prospective students Be ready to become a falcon and be a part of a close and welcoming University. BGSU has been through so much and I have never seen a University come together to get through good and bad times. Also, BGSU provides so many opportunities for you to be involved with the University and I highly advise you take advantage of them.
Academic Rigor Academically, BGSU can be challenging but it's only to help better your future and make you more prepared. It will only be difficult if you do not put in all your effort and not take it seriously. BGSU provides so many tutor groups to help with any struggles you have in the classroom and the professors are always willing to meet with you outside of the classroom. I really encourage if you are struggling with a topic to not give up, but instead seek help and it will be a easy and calm year for you here at BGSU.
Dorm Life The dorm life is with out a doubt amazing. I have met my best friends living in the dorms and I still have contact with everyone from my floor that I lived in freshman year. The students are so welcoming and always looking to have a good time and meet new people. No one will ever be alone in the dorms.
Food and Dining The food and dining is surprisingly well. The hours are convenient for students and the lines are never too long to wait for. BGSU also provides a small shop that contains food items when the dining hall closes and accepts your BGSU card!
What to do for fun There is so much to do at BGSU. Between the football, hockey, basketball, and baseball games there is always an event going on the weekends. If your not at a sporting event, our student union always provides movie showings and guest speakers on the weekends that are entertaining and educational.
Bang for the buck Overall, BGSU is such a great campus. There is always something to do and there is always somewhere or someone you can go to if you are struggling with anything. I have experience very difficult times in my life and speaking with the staff and my friends I have made here has made it so much easier to overcome. I do not feel like just a student here at BGSU, but instead a member of the family.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Locations on campus that are very popular are the student union, where students usually go to eat, study, or kill time in between classes, and also the bar life is quite entertaining. I have heard from numerous people who have visited BGSU and them say they have never had so much fun on a college visit before.
Great for these types of students All students!
Clubs and Activities So many clubs to be involved in. There are club sports teams, intramural teams, debate clubs, dancing clubs, singing clubs, anything!
Greek Life The Greek life is very popular here at BGSU and are very close. This year has been tremendously tough on the Greek Life here and they all came together, along with the rest of the University, to get through the hard times. It was extremely amazing to watch, but even better to be a part of.
Campus Safety Campus safety is definitely BGSU number one priority. With emergency buttons all over campus and BG police always driving around, you are definitely safe when walking around campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences BGSU is a great campus for those who like to be a part of a community, but at the same time like to blend into the background. Here, anyone can pursue their degree and become the person that they want to be, while having time to do the things that are non-academically challenging and fun. Something else that is awesome about BGSU would be how wonderful and aesthetically pleasing the campus looks- which is always a plus.
Tips for prospective students Stay yourself, but be open to new experiences that can change your mind.
Work through your problems, and keep school on top of everything (for it is really easy to end up getting overwhelmed).
Make friends, even if you wouldn't normally.Academic Rigor A lot of this rigor is based on what each student decides to take on. The homework and assignments can be difficult or easy, depending on the style of everyone's learning habits. Just take it as it comes, and everything will be fine.
Dorm Life This is a three, only because sometimes things can get a little out of hand- but otherwise, the dorms are great. I've fallen in love with Kreischer Batchelder, even with all the weird goings-on. The RA's really help with the experience too!
Food and Dining Again, this is why I love the dorms. Kresicher has the Sun Dial, which is a little cafeteria, great subs, great salads, and chicken and pizza all the time. Also, Kresicher has an Outtakes, which is like a grocery store- really helpful. The swipes places also serve a variety of food, most of which is healthy and diverse. I love being able to get both types of food on campus.
What to do for fun Literally anything. BGSU has a LARPING group, a Harry Potter group, many Religious organizations, a Gamer group and anything in between. We even have a Humans vs. Zombies group that hosts nerf wars. Not to mention, BGSU has a lot of cool scholarly groups- the Honors Program is one that I'm a part of.
Honors Scholars would have to be my favorite out of all of these groups, but literally, there is no place to go without getting away from something to do. Hall Council (dorm decisions), Sororities, Fraternities, Jobs- anything you can think of, BGSU has.Bang for the buck This depends on what you're looking for in a campus, but I think if you're looking for good schooling and a pretty campus in addition to an entertaining environment, there is no better place than BGSU.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Humans vs Zombies would be a tradition that is unique to BGSU. That group hosts a big battle between humans and zombies who fight with nerf guns and darts to save the population of BGSU.
And BGSU also has Quidditch, which is awesome!Great for these types of students Anyone is welcome here, no matter the learning style or personality. Enough animosity to be unknown, yet enough opportunities to make yourself known.
Clubs and Activities There are so many things to do on campus- and so many of them are cool! Quidditch, Harry Potter, Gaming, Greek Life, Hall Council, Honors Scholars. Anything, you can think of, becoming a part of something is all too easy.
Campus Safety There are those Emergency Blue Lights all over campus and the staff/RA's are always there to help- as well as campus security. So far, campus has been pretty safe!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The students and faculty are friendly. There are many diverse opportunities and services offered at BGSU. There are a vast variety of majors and classes and helpful professors and advisors.
Tips for prospective students It gets cold in the winter. The wind will cut through everything, so just dress warm. The wind comes from every direction so umbrellas aren't really useful. If you are lost on what to do with your major or after college: go to the career center. Check out the learning communities; they offer many unique opportunities (especially the arts village-- and you don't even have to be an art major to be in the community). As for the doors in the art building, push to go out, pull to go in, and lift up on the door at the top of the stairs off the main doors. Check out scholarships online and through the school after your freshmen year. Study hard, have fun, take risks, and take care of yourself.
Academic Rigor Once you get past general education classes and depending on the major and how much you put into it, classes can be challenging.
Dorm Life It is good. As with all cafeteria, you will have food that will get old and food that you will miss. I was in a learning community (the Arts Village) that made dorm life really fun and diverse. Unfortuently, the dorms I was in weren't that big. They were the older ones. I have no idea what the new dorms look like now. Living in the old dorms were worth living in the AV (Arts Village).
Food and Dining As I stated before, some you will like some will grow old. Overall, it is good. It is expensive, but with meal plan you can make it through just fine. I would run low on meal plan, but I budgeted right to never run out until the end.
What to do for fun Go on an alternate trip over fall and spring breaks:
South Bronx Trip
Navajo Trip
West Coast Trip (Only AV students)
Go to Detroit (through Cru)
These are some of many trips that organizations and professors put on throughout the year. They are really cheap for what you get out of them.Bang for the buck College is expensive, but it could be more. However, eating on campus is expensive. If you live off campus, pack.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Organizations and groups of students will get together and paint the spirit rock by the art building. It is painted using spray paint house paint. When my dorm floor painted it we used house paint and our hands, I don't think paint brushes are ever used.
Great for these types of students All types. There is something for everyone. Though BG is what I would call a medium sized campus (you can cross the entire campus in 15 minutes) and is located in a small town.
Clubs and Activities Arts Village all the way! You can explore and try new things there. The Arts Village is known for it's creativity. I was able to go on the West Coast Trip, build djembe drums, play taiko, and much more! I also could go to classes in my dorm building! Check them out!!
Campus Safety I feel pretty safe walking on campus in the day and the night. Where ever I look there are blue light polls just in case. For safety though, I do prefer walking with someone at odd hours of the night, but I have never ran into trouble before when I did walk around late by myself.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus many of the buildings have unusual names that are confusing at first for incoming freshman (i.e. offenhauer, olscamp, kreisher) but you get used to them very quickly. there is also a group of 4 students called the sic sic sez who post signs around campus and attend football games, but their identity is confidential until they are in their last year of college.
Great for these types of students everyone! bgsu literally has something that everything can enjoy.
Clubs and Activities joining and club and becoming involved is something greatly emphasized by bgsu. there are hundreds of clubs anyone can join and you are sure to find something you enjoy.
Greek Life greek life here is not a huge part of the college but there are plenty of sororities and fraternities to join if anyone is interested.
Campus Safety it is hard to find a safer campus than bowling green state university. all around campus there are light posts with a giant blue light in the top. if anything is wrong at all, you can go up to one of these posts and press the red button that contacts local police. they will be there to help you within a few minutes. also, after dark on any given night, you can call campus security and they will escort you anywhere you have to go at anytime of the night.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences BGSU is a great school. The professors are generally very helpful. There are also many clubs and activities to get involved with.
Tips for prospective students Stay on top of your work and get things done early.
Academic Rigor Classes are challenging, but manageable.
Dorm Life Some dorms are nicer than others, but I would prefer to live off campus. Dorms tend to be loud and the staff can be frustrating to deal with.
Food and Dining The food is good, but very expensive. You can save a lot of money by not having a campus meal plan.
What to do for fun Join clubs. Visit the rec center or ice rink.
Bang for the buck College is ridiculously expensive, but BGSU is one of the cheaper ones in the area.
Campus Safety Campus safety is good. The campus is pretty small and campus police patrol regularly.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The curriculum at BGSU is amazing. I am an education major and I have taken many different classes from psychology to education courses as well as phonics and literature. I feel that my professors are very knowledgeable and are helping to guide me to become an amazing teacher. The teachers are great when it comes to resonding to emails and learning who their students are. They allow us to think criticallly and form our own opinions which is very important.
Am enjoying being here I love the campus and the people on campus. I feel that the school is pretty big, but it is still small enough where you see a lot of your friends walking around campus and it is easy to find your way around. Bowling Green was my first choice for school and I would not be happy anywhere else.
Bang for the buck I feel that the cost is worth it if you really love the campus and want to go here. It is important to go to the financial aid office anytime you have concerns with the cost of the school and they do a great job at helping students to find loans and scholarships.
Tips for prospective students Get to know as many people in your dorm and in classes. Being away from home can be scary, but making new friends really helps to make you feel more at home. Also, time management is very important. Mom and dad are not around to make sure you get your school work done and to make sure you go to class. It is up to you to be responible and know how to manage fun as well as school. I had many friends drop out because they did so bad their freshman year at college.

Am enjoying being here I am enjoying myself on campus with many organizations to get involved like modeling or something in your major. You could never get bored and the recreation center in case you want to stay fit.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I'm taking my gen-eds the first year, knocking them out quick, then I go straight for my major. But even for gen-eds, they're actually interesting. Huge class selection.
Am enjoying being here The college experience is unreal. High school, big or small (I've gone to both), simply doesn't compare. From knowledgeable professors to the BG Undead (Humans vs. Zombies club), it's a blast.
Bang for the buck BG offers an incredible number of scholarships and financial aid, I can't take out loans due to lack of cosigner, but I'm still able to attend without too much financial strain. I'm not going anywhere.
Tips for prospective students Take four years of a foreign language, it is required here; I wish someone would have told me. Also, get connected on Facebook immediately and try to ask some upperclassmen for advice, they're really helpful and friendly.
Great for these types of students Anyone from party-kids to the hardcore bookworms. A huge library, great rec center, and beautiful campus offers a lot. I'm a writer, so I enjoy sitting amongst the squirrels and relaxing with a notebook, it's very peaceful.
