    Did learn a lot

I did learn a lot, even though it's a community college the teacher were great and i learn a lot from them

    Did enjoy being here

I know a lot of people hate BCC, but I honestly loved it. it was so much better than high school. even though I still live at home, I don't mind, BCC is a great school

    Bang for the buck

Very cheap for great education, you'll save SO much money staying home your first two years of college, when post people don't even know what they want to do yet anyway you can just take basic classes.

    Tips for prospective students

Try to decide where you want to go after BCC BEFORE you go there and then every semester meet with a transfer counselor to make sure your credits/ classes will transfer to your new school

Great for these types of students

if you don't know what you want to do yet with your life, go to BCC take basic classes and maybe you'll figure out what you want to do next.

    Am learning a lot

I feel like i have learned alot at BCC. The teachers for the most part are knowledgeable in there subjects. I have been able to become interested in areas of study that i never thought i would be, because the teachers know what they are doing and make it as interesting as they can.

    Am enjoying being here

I have enjoyed attending BCC, they have many areas to sit and study between classes or grab a quick bite to eat. They also have many free resources for the students (for example... the library, tutoring services, counselors, student lounge). Additionally they have many trips and activities you can sign up for during the year.

    Bang for the buck

I believe that for the quality of education that i am receiving, the tuition at BCC is a very good deal to get your college education. I have been paying around $4000 per year in tuition. This would count for both fall and spring semesters 12-13 credits each, and usually 2 summer session classes 3 credits each.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you register for your classes early so that you get the classes and times that best fit your schedule. Also don't forget about the free tutoring services, they are there to help you.

Great for these types of students

BCC is great for all types of students, even if you have a tight schedule.

    Am learning a lot

This is the most advanced in curriculum to only be a community college! Its one of the most flexible and convenient schools with advisors that are always available to answer any of my questions! The library has an excellent amount of books to choose from and the quiet space is even better. The bookstore could be a little bigger but overall it has all that a student could ever ask for. The professors are always available for questioning as well. Its a great school to consider.

    Am enjoying being here

The activities are always active. There are usually 5 activities per month and always low priced!

    Bang for the buck

The taxes have recently gone up but despite that the prices are exceptionally reasonal for the education.

    Tips for prospective students

Ask your professors when you need help. They are always willing and have time.

Great for these types of students

This is a great school for students who do not have alot of money or transportation. The prices in all areas are reasonal. This college gives education that one would expect from an unversity.

A supportive environment and dedicated faculty give both traditional and non-traditional students an opportunity to further their education, polish their career credentials, and to do it while saving money on tuition costs. Despite the lower cost, the education offered at Burlington County College is a solid foundation for students who intend to go on to four-year colleges or even beyond. In addition to that, BCC offers many certifications for those who have turned to continuing education to change career or to advance further in their current career.

    Tips for prospective students

Be pro-active. You will get out of this experience what you put in to it. Don't just sit back and glide through it - research, go to transfer workshops if you intend to transfer, and join a club. The connections you make will help you move forward, and by standing out as motivated and engaged you'll make it much easier for opportunities to find you.

    Academic Rigor

I'll admit, this isn't a prestigious institution. It's a springboard and a place to get a good basic college education. (Or to take certification courses to learn some very specific career skills.) However, the professors in my experience have almost always been professional, prepared, and knowledgeable. They are not the best of the best, no, but this is not an Ivy League institution and being the best of the best is not its role. This is a very good community college with an active role in its community, and it performs its job both competently and ethically.

    Dorm Life

There is no student housing at BCC.

    Food and Dining

It's a cafeteria. You expected gourmet?

    What to do for fun

Unfortunately, there isn't much night life right next to campus. However, just take route 38 into Philadelphia and you'll find all the fun you want. If you're feeling artistic, check out the Museum of Art. If you're feeling gruesome and/or are majoring in biology or nursing, you'll definitely want to take a trip to the Mutter Museum of medical oddities at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. For some fun clubs and a good selection of quality, inexpensive restaurants and bars, go to the Northern Liberties section of Philly, where there's a high population of students and recent grads and where you can inevitably find something fun to do and some like-minded people to do it with.

    Bang for the buck

In the end, you don't go to BCC for a top-shelf education. You go for a good quality education at a reasonable price, and you go for a good chance to get into a good four-year. (For instance, BCC has a guaranteed transfer agreement with Rutgers, whereby if you keep you GPA at or above the required level and finish the appropriate classes you're guaranteed admission to Rutgers for the last two years of your degree.)

By that metric, this is an excellent school. And don't worry about how going to a community college looks on your record - nobody really looks at the first two years of undergrad.

Great for these types of students

Great for non-traditional and working students, as well as students who are in financial difficulty. I've found that the advisers have an overriding goal of making sure that everyone who wants to have an education can have a chance at one, and they'll spend a lot of time hashing everything out with you so you can get that chance.

    Clubs and Activities

The disadvantage of being a college which teaches a lot of working and non-traditional students is that many people, even if they want to participate in the campus clubs, simply don't have the time. So the clubs aren't necessarily as big or active as they are at a more traditional college. However, there are enough and they're active enough that you'll find a place to fit in and make some friends.

    Campus Safety

I've never had any problems. This is a safe area of New Jersey, as a rule, and while no place is totally crime-free, there's absolutely no reason to take any more but the usual, common-sense precautions you'd take anywhere, especially if you're a woman and alone. (Stay in well-lit areas at night, lock your car doors, don't leave valuables in sight, etc.)

Going to BCC for the first two years of school will save you a lot of money and they have quite a few programs with other schools that guarantee admission. I would recommend this to anyone.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are planning to transfer to another school, talk to an advisor at the school you want to transfer to to make sure all of your courses will transfer.

    Academic Rigor

An advantage of smaller classes is that the professors are more willing and have more time to work with you. The main professors have office hours and the adjunct professors are very willing to meet up or help however they can.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria food isn't too bad and there's plenty of places close by to get food. Also plenty of places to grab food and sit down and study like Panera or Starbucks.

    Bang for the buck

I definitely recommend going to a community college for the first two years. It will save you thousands of dollars and you still can transfer and get the same degree as if you went there for four years.

Great for these types of students

Great for students struggling financially or not sure what to major in yet.

In my opinion the tuition costs are high for a county college. The academic advisers seem bored and unwilling to help. A plus is many locations and online classes that are available.

    Tips for prospective students

Check out New Jersey State schools before assuming the value of BCC.

    Academic Rigor

Some of the classes seemed too easy. Some instructors seem as though they are just going through the motions and don't seem to care if you actually learn it.

    Dorm Life

There are no dorms at this school.

    Food and Dining

I am unsure of these facilities.

    What to do for fun

I don't have time for much fun

    Bang for the buck

    There are better options.

Great for these types of students

    Great for the adult learner.

    Campus Safety

Some locations are safer then others.

It is affordable you students who have to pay out of pocket. They offer a good payment plan. The campus is not too confusing if your new.

    Tips for prospective students

Check where you are park so that you don't receive a ticket for parking in a staff spot. Also always get you Id updated and make sure you get your parking permit before the semester starts.

    Academic Rigor

The courses offered are not that hard but you do have to watch out for the adjunct professors.

    Dorm Life

    BCC does not offer dorms.

    Food and Dining

The food is rather good but over priced.

    What to do for fun

There are many activities that go on at BCC and also off campus activities, you just have to check your emails or look around at the posters.
