    Am learning a lot

There is a whole lot of nothing to do around Buies Creek, so learning is the next best thing... :)

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell is situated in a quiet area inbetween two small towns. I enjoy a serene atmosphere and if I want to do something, I can just pick a town to go to.

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is EXPENSIVE to the financialy average family. However, the education is up to par, the food is decent (though you'll get sick of Marshbanks), there are plenty of recreational fields (for those with an athletic spark), and the scenery is very pleseant (especialy in the snow... which isn't to often).

    Tips for prospective students

Don't waste your money if you're comming here to squander your time (I can name some other colleges for that). Always take advantage of the open library (especialy when your finals come), buy your books early (finding them online instead of Campbell's bookstore will save you money, particularly when you return them to the bookstore), always use the gym at least twice a week (its free!), and most importantly, use the camel bucks towards the end of the semester (if you come to Campbell, you'll know what I mean).

Great for these types of students

Self motivated individuals will exceed here. You must be able to work under stress (this isn't a free ride). You will be in the middle of nowhere so being able to deal with that would be a big plus (there is a Walmart some 10 miles away, though).

As for intended majors, Campbell offers plenty of different subject areas. Campbell is the number 1 law school in NC (so I've heard... but they're moving to Raliegh). Pre-Pharm students are abundant here as well.

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell is a very good school. It is in the country but the people are very nice and you can find something to do if you want. The law, business and pharmacy programs are very prominent but everyone is included and no one feels left out. The school spirit is great and everyone is very helpful.

Great for these types of students

Students who have a hard time focusing won't have an issue here cause there are not too many distractions. People who are looking for a small school with a lot of friendly people with a great sense of southern hospitality.

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell University is a great four-year private institution. It has five different graduate schools, including Divinity, Pharmacy, Education, Business, and Law. I have found my home as Campbell University for the next four years, I absolutely recommend the school. It's amazing.

Great for these types of students

Campbell University is great for all different kinds of students. I'm a science major, and the science departments at Campbell are great. The business, law, and educations majors don't feel left out either. Campbell is great for well-rounded education seeking students.

    Am learning a lot

The classes here are very challenging. I transferred here from another school and I finally know I am getting my money's worth. Professors are very nice and assessable with small classroom sizes. Graduating from Campbell University I will know and feel that I worked hard for my degree and will be able to excel in graduate studies. If you are looking into Campbell and looking for a school just to get by in I wouldn't suggest you coming here.

    Am enjoying being here

This school has so much to offer! And it's a great that it is a private school! (They have a lot of $!!!) They have trips offered to students all the time- trips to Hawaii, Georgia, Florida, NFL Panther games, etc. Also I love the fact this school is Division 1 with a football team, makes campus life more knit and it's very enjoyable to cheer on the Fighting Camels!

    Bang for the buck

The school is a little over 30,000 but the school is very generous with scholarships. If you have over a 3.0 in H.S or college (if your a transfer) coursework you are most likely guaranteed a Scott-Elis or Presidential Scholarship. (Usually ranging between $6,000-12,000-my scholarship was 8,500 with a 3.18 college GPA.)

    Tips for prospective students

Be a good well rounded student. This school is getting bigger and better. It is a good school now but with the Physician Assistant major available starting the 2010-2011 academic year-this school will be getting more prestigious and harder to get in over the next upcoming years.

Also I was reading this on the Campbell website that after each student took this National Survey of Student Engagement- more than 92% said their college experience was excellent or good!

Great for these types of students

This school is great for any student looking for a very straight edge student body. You see girls walking around in nice outfits, while guys are sporting the polos and kakis. So if you are looking for a school with a dry campus, don't mind learning/ building a relationship with God, and looking for a vigorous course load, love the warm weather, and want to be surrounded by friendly people, come here!

And this school is a Baptist school, but I am Roman Catholic and many people are also other religions/ or are Atheist. They don't push this Baptist faith on anyone so don't worry!

    Am learning a lot

There is so much that I am learning that I'm having a hard time keeping up, but it's worth it.

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell may feel like there is nothing to do, but I always have stuff that needs to be done. Then I always find something exciting going on at the campus.

    Bang for the buck

Yea the school demands a little bit more than other colleges, but it is a private school. Also it is a great school, well worth the money.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure you go to your classes. Campbell is strict on their attendance policy, and they have failed students for not showing up.

Great for these types of students

Campbell is great for students who like that small school feel. Also, if you like to attend sporting events, if you live on campus then you go to any of the home games for free, which is awesome. Campbell is for the students who like to be sociable, because here you will see the same people well over a few times a semester.

    Am learning a lot

The professors here actually know how to teach to learn not just to teach to a test. A big plus is they know who you are which is really important when it comes to your grades. If you show interest in getting great grades any professor will help you. The tutors at the school are not too bad either.

    Am enjoying being here

There are many ways to get involved on campus. Campbell tries to keep their students busy so that they do not get in trouble with such things as alcohol. As for what to do around Campbell there is not much. There are a couple of parks to go to during the spring time(Raven Rock is great).

    Bang for the buck

People see the tuition cost for Campbell and think, do I really want to pay all this when a public school is cheaper? Campbell actually gives out a lot of scholarships. Your initial scholarship package is just the beginning there are endowment scholarships that are given out ever so often. The teachers are great and so are the facilities. Campbell is always renovating!

    Tips for prospective students

Do not get so bogged down in studies that you do immerse yourself in Campbell culture. Join the clubs, go to the sporting events or the fine arts events.

Great for these types of students

Someone who likes small classes, personal time with professors and a small community where almost everyone knows everyone. Even though this college is classified as a Baptist private college that is not all that it offers. So even if people aren't religious this is still a great college.

    Will enjoy being here

I am truly looking forward to attending Campbell in the fall. They have so much to offer. The campus is beautiful and renovations are still being made. The administrators that I have met were very kind and you really do get the feeling that you matter. My favorite thing was that the campus was small and that it was a christian-based school. It is just a wonderful place to be!

    Am learning a lot

Definitely learning a lot. There are a lot of prerequisite classes you have to take at Campbell, but that's going to pay off in the long run. It'd be nice to be able to get into my major sooner, but the extra classes aren't too bad.

    Am enjoying being here

I love the atmosphere here. If you think you might enjoy a smaller campus, this is the school for you. It is so easy to get to know people; everyone is nice. Your friend group will be gigantic but you will have a close relationship with each person. It's great!

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is a little pricy but that's what you get when you go to a private school. Scholarships are great and they offer a ton of money, you just have to find it. I'd say it's worth it though.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved with the clubs. I have made so many friends by doing that. College is all about finding yourself, so you definitely need to get involved. No matter where you go!

Great for these types of students

Campbell University has a fantastic PGM program (so I hear). If you're interested in golf management then you're probably already on your way. We've also got one of the best pharmacy schools and law schools. Basically, if you're trying to make a lot of money one day, Campbell is here to help!

    Am learning a lot

To keep good grades, you're going to have to do a lot of studying, but it's worth it. I have learned so much while I've been at Campbell, and the teachers I had were awesome. They've really made me want to pursue my major by making it interesting.

    Am enjoying being here

To be honest, college was hard to adjust to at first, but after I became acclimated to the college scene and the campus, I really started to like Campbell. The second semester is way better than the first, but I have had an awesome first year overall.

    Bang for the buck

Without scholarships, Campbell can be pretty expensive but it is definitely worth it. I have learned so much and wouldn't trade schools for anything. The small campus is easily accessible from just about anywhere, which is something that really makes it stand out for me because you won't find that at a larger school.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! Make as many friends as possible at scholarship competitions, orientations, and activities in the first semester. The friends you have really are a big factor in what kind of experience you're going to have. Campus Activities Board has a club for just about everything so it's easy to get plugged in to something early on in the year. Club and intramural sports and any of the campus ministry groups are also really popular ways on campus to meet new people.

Great for these types of students

I would recommend Campbell primarily to people who are interested in PGM, Exercise Science, Pharmacy, and Law. We have really big programs for all of those here, and you will definitely be taught what you need to know. Being involved in the science department, I can speak for the Pre Pharm curriculum and say that it is just what I needed to help prepare me for Pharmacy School!

    Am learning a lot

I've learned a lot from my professors here at Campbell. Depending on your major you'll be very close with your professor or just casual friends, either way you won 't be a number here.

    Am enjoying being here

I come from a same town as well so being out in the middle of no where isn't bad. It is however between two cities, to the North is Raleigh and to the south is Fayetteville both about 45 minutes away. It's a very friendly environment.

    Bang for the buck

Yes this university does cost some serious dough but it is a private school. So make sure you have the money

    Tips for prospective students

New students will now have a freshman seminar starting 2011-2012 school year. They'll have guest speakers consisting of faculty and current students. They'll learn things about Campbell that us current students had to experience first since no one told us.

Great for these types of students

Campbell is number one in pharmacy and has a great law school. hoped this review helped you make a decision

    Am learning a lot

The class sizes are small compared to other universities and this allows teachers to be more personal with students. The classroom atmosphere is great for students and you can tell the teacher cares that the students actually learn the material. The professors know what they are talking about and are always willing to help you during or out of class.

    Am enjoying being here

Buies Creek itself is not the most populated or attractive place, but it is what you make of it. Campbell University itself has plenty of activities on weekdays and weekends to keep you busy if you aren't studying. It is also close to Raleigh and Durham so bigger cities are close. The people and opportunities at Campbell have made my time enjoyable.

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is an expensive school but there is a lot of scholarships and grants you can find. Campbell has a good Endowment program which is basically free money they give away so that helps. The quality of education and campus are great when compared to what you pay. You get what you pay for and you are getting top quality at Campbell.

    Tips for prospective students

Be ready to study, learn and have a good time. College is a once in a lifetime experience and Campbell is a great place to have it. Be sure to get involved in activities and all the events Campbell holds for its students. Just about every week there is something going on, mostly started up by CAB, so be on the look out.

Great for these types of students

The school has a Christianity background and focuses on the importance of school and hard work so its not for the unmotivated or uncaring. Small student body, but not too small where you get tired of seeing the same people everywhere. Enough to keep you occupied here when you have free time.

Campbell really is in the middle of nowhere, so this can be both a good and a bad thing. You have to drive about 45 minutes to go do stuff, but you do get to know your professors and classmates very well. The best way to get the most out of Campbell is truly to become involved in an organization and try to make friends.

    Tips for prospective students

I would recommend that if you don't plan on going home for the weekends, that you have your car on campus. Also, it's helpful if you bring movies, games, etc. for when you get bored. The food is not so great. More Camel Bucks is far better than more Meal Plans.

    Academic Rigor

Depending on your professor, the classes can be pretty hard. As long as you do what is required though, you'll pass.

    Dorm Life

As I said, there is not much to do. Living with someone else is extremely difficult if you're not used to it. Try to meet the people in your suite or on your hall and participate in the RA's activities. I would have enjoyed my freshman year much better if I had done that.

    Food and Dining

Shouse dining hall is a lot better than Marshbanks, but the latter is usually okay. Chickfila, Quizno's, and the Oasis are definitely the best, but require Camel Bucks instead of Meal Plan. We do have a Starbucks though! My biggest complaint is simply that Marshbanks closes too early.

    What to do for fun

There is a bowling alley about 10 minutes away. Sometimes we have on campus events, such as the dances, concerts, etc. Fayetteville is kind of sketchy but there is some stuff to do there. I prefer to go to Garner/Raleigh/Apex area which are all about 45 minutes away. Skating, Movies, Shopping, Restaurants, Etc. Fuquay Varina is only 25 minutes away and has some restaurants and small downtown shops.

    Bang for the buck

The prestige of a degree from Campbell is definitely worth it. If you are going for Pharmacy or Law, this is an exceptional school. I'm an education major, however. After your first year, you will probably want to transfer, but if you stick around long enough to move off campus it will be worth it. After visiting friends from other schools, I can certainly say that our buildings, dorms, and dining halls are much nicer (although the food is somewhat lacking).

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Campbell LOVES fountains....every once in a while kids will put soap in the fountain causing it to bubble up.

Great for these types of students

If you want a smaller school and a beautiful campus this is for you.

    Clubs and Activities

The clubs are mostly academic, but we do have fun things like Zumba, Martial Arts, Yoga, etc. The Campus Activities Board tries really hard to have fun activities, and it's getting better, but could use some improvement.

    Greek Life

    None.

    Campus Safety

There are always security guards creeping around so you are perfectly safe to walk around at night. I did get my bike stolen over Christmas break, so maybe if you bring one you should take it home over long breaks like that though.

Campbell University is a great college for students trying to find a close knit community with small class sizes. The teachers are very in tune with their students and get information across quickly and accurately. Overall, this school is fantastic.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are looking for a school in a big city with a lot of parties, this is not the college for you. There are parties and things to do around campus, but Campbell is not located in a big city where you can do anything. I would highly suggest this school for people considering entering their graduate programs. However, if you are getting a regular business degree or something of that nature, this college can give that to you, but for a whole lot more money than other colleges.

    Academic Rigor

This depends on your major. I am a pharmacy major, and my classes tend to give many people a hard time. Honestly, I have only found one class hard in my two semesters, but most of my friends have found multiple classes giving them major difficulty.

    Dorm Life

Depending on the dorm, you will have a different dorm life. I was in a suite style dorm which held eight people. There were two per room and one bathroom. The only problem occurred when some suite mates were not as cleanly as they should be.

    Food and Dining

There are many places to eat on campus. With your meal plan, you get a certain amount of meals and camel bucks. Camel bucks can be used at Papa Johns, Quiznos, the Burger Studio, and Chick fa la on campus. Marshbanks and Shouse use the meals off of the meal plan.

    What to do for fun

I mostly play sports. We have a ton of club sports and intramural sports that are very competitive. Otherwise you can go to the sporting, CAB, or club events. Also there are some parties that you can go to if you can find out where they are being held.

    Bang for the buck

Depending on your major, Campbell is a great deal. This applies for everyone planning on going into a graduate program at Campbell. Otherwise, you are getting a very expensive business or education degree.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

We have an annual Easter egg hunt where the golden eggs can get you a flat screen TV. The Alan Brown Challenge is a great relay race that involves many activities other than running.

Great for these types of students

Students wanting a close knit community feel on their campus. Ones that know how to have fun when there are not any events going on on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

We have a plethora of clubs on campus. We have a street fair at the beginning of the year which showcases them all. Tents are crammed on the walkway with people showcasing their club.

    Campus Safety

If there is ever a problem, campus safety is only a phone call or a yell away. Campus safety rides golf carts around campus in order to get to any disturbances on campus quickly.

Campbell University is a baptist based school equipped with the tools to further students education and prepare them for the workforce. It offers a vast amount of majors and minors to chose from as well as many professional schools to further your learning. Campbell is a perfect school choice for any student focused on their school work with little partying and more of christian-based atmosphere.

Campbell is a good choice for students who would like to be in a relatively small environment without many distractions. The courses here at Campbell are above excellence and many students leave with jobs offers right after graduation.

    Academic Rigor

The academics at Campbell University can become rigorous if you do not take the time to study and put in effort in your classes. Campbell offers many tools to ensure the student is successful in the classroom. Things like the writing center that allows students to receive editing on papers and tutoring services in tough courses ensure students can not only pass their classes but receive a good grade.

    Dorm Life

Living in a dorm takes some time to get used to especially if you are not used to sharing a bathroom with 4 to 8 or even a whole hall of people. The good thing about living in dorms is the usually are cozy enough for roommates to have their own space and personal belongings. There are better dorms than others but each have something unique about them that makes living in a dorm a good memory and preparing you to deal with all kinds of different people.

    Food and Dining

The food in the the dining halls have their good days and then the food becomes repetitive after awhile. The breakfast food is always good for people who do not mind getting up in the morning. The great thing about Campbell is that you do not have to rely on just the dining halls but there are plenty of other campus restaurants like Papa Johns, Chic fil a, Jole Mole, and plenty others to chose from.

    Clubs and Activities

Campbell has plenty activities to chose from. There is free zumba and other exercising classes along with plenty of group bible study groups that meet. There is always some activity not only hosted by the school but by personal dorms for the people living in them.

    Campus Safety

There is always security around even late at night, Campbell University is always secured. Not only is security on point but every resident hall or lobby requires an updated id to ensures no one that does not belong can get into the buildings.

the food on campus can get repetitive but there are many options besides the dining halls. plus there is plenty to eat off campus.

get involved on campus or go to raleigh. there isn't really much immediately off campus.

    Bang for the buck

campbell is expensive but it's a private college, the campus is beautiful, the teachers very amazing, and you have a lot of free services on campus.

    What to do for fun

I've just discovered Campbell and am wondering whether the small size creates a healthily close-knit community, or whether it seems as though there is not enough diversity among students. Are there any current students with insight to this concern?

Campbell has a great atmosphere which can help foster students as they learn who they want to be in life. The teachers along with the rest of the staff are all very helpful, and the overall hospitality seen on campus is just the type of environment a person can become who they are in. I know that I will have a great education on campus as my Freshmen year has been full of great memories.

    Academic Rigor

I took quite a bit of AP classes in high school so I don't necessarily think the work at Campbell has been too rigorous. I know for a fact though, from the other students that many teachers are extremly rigorous. As usual though I believe a rigorous course load depends on each student, their particular semester, their year in college, and the professors that they have.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life for me this year was amazing! Of course this year I was extremly lucky. As the first class of students able to be in the New Residence Hall for a full year, I have had a great time. Making dorm friends, hanging out in the lobby, and struggling with laundry are all memories I have made this year.

    Food and Dining

The food at school is okay. It all depends on where you go on campus. If a person goes to the Oasis, they are sure to get great food. If a person goes to Marshbanks...well they better be picky.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning more at Campbell University than I have throughout my entire education. The professors are very resourceful, and they know how to make the students understand the material.

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell feels like home away from home. I feel welcomed everywhere, and the people are fantastic. Although it is far away from the big city, it really helps when it's time to hit the books! Raleigh is about 45 minutes away, so when I need a break from studying, getting away isn't too difficult.

    Bang for the buck

Campbell is a private school, so it is more expensive than public universities. However, no price can be put on my education and my experience that I have had at Campbell. Most of the dorms have been remodeled, a lot of the campus is growing, the cafeteria food is decent, and everyone is welcoming. I'd say I am definitely satisfied with my decision to be at Campbell.

    Tips for prospective students

Start strong, study hard, and stay focused! Remember, someone is paying for your school, so keep the grades up!!

Great for these types of students

Campbell is the school for students who enjoy southern hospitality, small campuses, and small towns!!

    Am learning a lot

The professors are great at Campbell. There are no student assistants teaching the classes, which means that only those with degrees are teaching the materials. With the lack of fun stuff to do really near campus, there is always time for studying, which is the whole reason for going to school right?

    Am enjoying being here

Campbell has a cozy atmosphere. I feel like I see the same people all of the time, making it a very close-knit community. The Campus Activities Board always has fun events planned, and sporting events are always great to go to as well.

    Bang for the buck

Yes, it's expensive, but that's what scholarships are for. Plenty of free t-shirts to go around along with exam week breakfasts and shuttles to Walmart during move-in. The top-notch classrooms and sporting facilities definitely make it worth the money!

    Tips for prospective students

Don't speed, because the cops around Buies Creek love giving tickets to college students. Especially don't speed in Angier (which is just down the road).
Get your acceptance early and get in your housing form so you can get the best pick of dorms. (Hint for the guys: Murray has very sensitive fire alarms.)

Great for these types of students

There isn't a whole lot to do, so if you're a party-goer, this isn't the school for you.
If you are a devoted student, come to Campbell.
Students who love the color orange are always welcome.

    Am enjoying being here

I am enjoying the Campbell experience and it is what you make it out here. It's not much to do off close-by campus so you will have to find a way to occupy your time or join the many clubs we have on campus when you have down time.

    Bang for the buck

Though you are getting a great, quality education sometimes one may wonder where their money is going. For example, we have mediocre dorms for the price of them (except for the New Residence Hall which is fairly new and very nice).

    Tips for prospective students

Campbell is very EXPENSIVE but, the education is great! This is a great school to go to and it will definitely look good to future employers. We have nice scenery and it is a great Christian environment. Class sizes aren't overwhelming and the food is decent but you will get tired of it quickly.

Great for these types of students

    Studious, self-driven, and goal-oriented students

    Will learn a lot

I have heard SO many great things about CU and the professors there. I can't wait to get there and start learning!

    Will enjoy being here

I have walked around CU since I was a little girl and have always felt welcome. Everybody here has such a nice way of making you feel at home. They really care about getting to know you and making you feel comfortable.

    Bang for the buck

CU is pretty expensive but the educational opportunities and the feeling of the campus makes it worthy.

Great for these types of students

CU is great for anybody wanting to feel Southern hospitality or just wanting to get away from it all. It's kind of in the country and you have to travel a bit to find certain types of entertainment but CU offers many different things for students to do. Clubs, movies, concerts, lectures....there's a little bit of something for everyone!
