Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Quick and painless enrollment. Competent staff and teachers. Excellent support services.
Tips for prospective students Check out EZEnrollment day and just jump in. Standard college tips apply, and make sure to get to know your instructors. Otherwise, just show up and do the work!
Academic Rigor Classes aren't intense as long as you show up and do the work! Different instructors expect different things, so just be sure to check with them on what they want.
Food and Dining Forget about the cafeteria - it's not worth it. If you don't mind paying more for average food, go for it... But if you're on a budget, go to Burger King or pack a lunch.
What to do for fun There's a decent selection of music opportunities, including choirs, jazz band, and community band. There's a frisbee golf course on campus. 1/2 mile indoor walking circuit. A variety of sports options as well.
Bang for the buck It's an exceptional community college - you get a lot out of it and pay much less than anywhere else.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Cube is an interesting second-level lounge. There's a lot of events that take place on campus over the year, including a strong international presence.
Great for these types of students Good for anyone who wants to succeed. If you just want to party, stay in High School.
Clubs and Activities Wide variety of available clubs and athletics with strong memberships and interesting opportunities.
Campus Safety Very safe and clean. It's a great environment!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences CLC is conveniently located, offers a variety of useful programs and class schedules, and has some faculty that is interested in your success, although not all are. It is an excellent place to begin a transfer to a new career, or prepare for transfer to a 4-year college.
Tips for prospective students Apply and register for classes early. Many fill up quickly. Even if you are late, get on the waiting list, as many people drop classes leading up to class time, and even in the first week of classes.
Academic Rigor Academic rigor varies greatly depending on instructor, classes, and the program. Check with the instructor and previous students to determine how hard it will be. There are some classes that are an easy A, and others that will challenge you. Something for everyone.
Dorm Life No dorms.
Food and Dining While the campus has a variety of vending machines and an on-campus cafeteria, prices are high and service isn't that great. I suggest bringing your own food, unless you want to spend the extra money.
What to do for fun Frisbee golf, some concerts and shows, and clubs provide a variety of opportunities on campus.
Bang for the buck The AA degree provides a fantastic degree that is 100% transferrable in the MNSCU system, and even to many surrounding states' colleges and universities as well. Other degrees can transfer easily as well, although obscure ones may be less useful.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The Cube is an interesting lounge area on the second floor.
Great for these types of students Non-traditional students will find a variety of class schedules and programs to help them find a new career. They also offer PSEO, which makes it a great choice for High School students (Juniors and Seniors).
Clubs and Activities There are a variety of clubs on campus, but the wide dispersement of students (from all over the Brainerd Lakes Area), makes some of them smaller than they should be. CLC offers some activities as well, but communication of these events is not always great.
Campus Safety The campus is very safe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences central lakes college is a relatively inexpensive college. the professors there is generally very easy to work with and the class sizes are small. i enjoy going to school there and i like the smaller classes because i can have one on one contact with the instructors.
Tips for prospective students get you financial aid applications in early, otherwise they will take a long time to process them. if you take online classes there you need to communicate with the professors regularly and honestly or you may not succeed. also, use the printing account you have at the school, that way you don't use your own ink and paper up and you already paid for it wether you use it or not anyways.
Academic Rigor this school is not particularly difficult academically. there are certain classes that are very tough to pass but they are for professional workers and it is very necissary.
Dorm Life i do not live in a dorm myself but i have been in them and they are not too impressive. they range from nice and pretty clean to dirty and old.
Food and Dining the cafeteria has okay food. i have never had gross food there but the variety is not close to what you might expect of a college. there are several choices but not many. this is due to its small size as a college.
What to do for fun there are pool tables and computers available at all times during regular hours. there are ski trips and snowboard trips lined up. there are various tournaments every month ranging from call of duty tourneys to volleyball and basketball. there are also international trips available to sign up for and there is a weight room for students to use and a gym, a track and a football field. if you are looking for something to do with the college there is something you can find to fill your spare time.
Bang for the buck the tuition is not high! books are the most difficult thing to pay for and financial aid is available.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there are many places to study in the sun or a computer commons or a hallway or the library. you can always find plants everywhere, there are even 15 foot cactuses near the cafeteria.
Great for these types of students students on a tight budget can usually afford to attend here. students who want small class sizes and good disability services also could attend here.
Clubs and Activities there are clubs for everything! if you don't find a club you want to join you can always start one too. i've never been in one of the clubs but i have heard good things.
Greek Life i don't know what to say about this.
Campus Safety there are security guards roaming around. the cafeteria staff seem to have a good handle on sanitation and there are drills and procedures set in place and practiced and the staff knows what to do. there is safety equipment easily accessed throughout the labs and school. harassment does not seem to be an issue either. i have never felt unsafe there.
