Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Clark Atlanta University has provided me with the tools I need in order to matriculate gracefully throughout my college career and my life. Academically, CAU has a staff and faculty team that is concerned and dedicated to my success. I have a respectful relationship with my professors which allows me to get the help I need when struggling or just need someone to talk to which has lead to my academic success. CAU has also broadened me culturally due to its HBCU background.
Am enjoying being here Campus life is always exciting and educational! From the fraternity and sorority involvement on campus to the volunteer opportunities and fundraisers, CAU definitely exceeds expectations.
Bang for the buck With the dedication of the faculty and staff, I have definitely gotten the full worth of of my tuition here at CAU. There are also plenty of on campus activities as well as clubs and team-associated programs to be involved in.
Tips for prospective students CAU is definitely one of the best...but, because we are located in the heart of a big and exciting city, my advice to prospective students would be to stay focused; remember that you are here for growth and educational purposes. Practice time management; it's normal to have a social life but make sure that you balance that time. Be true to yourself; being realistic and setting achievable goals before coming to school outlines your academic year and has already put into practice a form of time management.
Great for these types of students CAU is great for the go-getter kind of student. One of CAU's motto's is Find a way or make one which describes the kind of student that will work to achieve their goals and do what it takes to fulfill their dreams by any means necessary all while making a way for future students just as what was done for them. The HBCU background does not, in any way, discriminate against other ethnicity. We are a school that is dedicated to the success of the future generation, race and ethnicity aside.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Some classes are not as helpful as others. The only way I get a real challenge is in my Honors courses.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love the environment of the school. There are a lot of young students striving to become better in life, which is refreshing. Not to mention the AUC life. It's an experience that no one would want to miss out on.
Bang for the buck I think the school costs wayyy too much for the education received. The money seems to go towards things that don't help the students much.
Great for these types of students Those looking for a fast-paced environment and wish to be surrounded by people just like you.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Become very involved in the classroom environment. You will learn so much just by engaging in conversation with your professors and fellow classmates about the readings assigned and the issues going on in the community. You also will learn a lot of information about Black History that was not taught in previous schooling. Get to know your professors and always try to stand out in the classroom.
Am enjoying being here Join a club, sports team, and or fraternity. By doing so you can form brotherly and sisterly bonds that can never be broken. It is also a way to keep yourself occupied and on track. It is also a good way to learn about the city and fun places to go from the upperclassmen who have experience.
Bang for the buck This institution is very expensive and sometimes you might find yourself questioning is the school even worth it. However if you use all resources available to you, you will truly find yourself getting the bang for the buck.
Tips for prospective students Always put school first make it your number one priority. It is so easy to get caught up in the party life make sure you limit yourself because if you don't you will find yourself falling behind. Get involved you will learn so much and meet so many great people. Most importantly spend your money wisely!
Great for these types of students Students who work hard and are strong that have drive, determination, and are willing and ready for a roller coaster ride.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Honestly I am not being challenged in all of my classes and I can say i've only learned in two subjects so far. At this school it is important to get a serious teacher if you want to get what you're paying for. Of course it's great to get through a class effortlessly but when you go get your job and realize you dont know anything...then what?
Am enjoying being here Now the atmosphere is great! Atlanta is a fun city and a part of the AUC which includes Morehouse and Spelman. There is always something to do.
Bang for the buck I would NOT pay to go to this school! I attend Clark Atlanta on a full academic scholarship. The tuition is way more than the education is worth.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in high school and keep your academics up.
Great for these types of students Those who want to have fun and get an education...in that order.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Many of my classes are quite boring, and it's hard to concentrate to a boring professor. Do not allow this to stop you from going to class or falling asleep in class, you have to stay focus!
Am enjoying being here I love Atlanta! There's always something to do in the city and around the campus as it sits in the mist of Downtown Atlanta.
Bang for the buck It cost about $30,000 a year to attend CAU and I think in order to attend such an expensive school, your heart has to be 100% committed to attending a private HBCU. The majority of the students are quite familar with loans, and because of that you have to take you education and of course your money very seriously!
Tips for prospective students Stay focus and do not forget your reasons for wanted to attend CAU.
Great for these types of students Get involved and do not hesitate to start networking as early as freshman year =)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes are mostly review. I have not learned anything new since being at Clark Atlanta. I enjoy the classes, but the information is not new.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy the HBCU experience at Clark Atlanta. It is a friendly environment and there is a lot to do.
Bang for the buck This college is VERY expensive. Over $30,000 a year. If you can afford it, be my guest, but Clark Atlanta is a private institution so they are very costly.
Tips for prospective students Clark Atlanta is a good school but it is also very expensive. Scholarships and other types of monetary aid are useful in your matriculation at this school.
Great for these types of students Clark Atlanta is great for students seeking to be known in the world. With all the actors, musicians, rappers, fashion experts and movie directors, there is always someone from the entertainment business looking for new faces to be seen!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Clark is an Amazing school to attend. I personally reap the benefits of the whole experience of going here especially when it comes to my classes. It helps a lot when the professors are more active with the students which i feel Clark holds the end of the stick for. I love all my classes and feel that i have learned so much that will enable me to prosper in my future career as a business manager.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love the AUC. Being able to attend this University is such a blessing. God has truly placed me in an environment where i see people that i can unite with as an ethnic group of individuals that have thought past societies expectations. I am very proud to say that i attend Clark Atlanta University because it is my Historically Black College University that will enhance my knowledge as well as build me up with the most deference for my peers among me.
Bang for the buck So, i love everything about the school expect when it comes to the tuition. I'm from California so of course the out of state fees are ridiculous. I'm intended to pay about $33,000 a year to attend this university which is far from affordable. Yet, i would do anything to stay in the place that i am at in this University so ends meet.
Tips for prospective students I think that African American students and whoever else wants the HBCU experience should definitely attend Clark. Make sure to develop a relationship with your professors because they can really help you out when its crunch time. Also, become involved in the different clubs around campus. There are so many things to do and it helps you to become such a well rounded person.
Great for these types of students -People that want to experience an HBCU
-People that love the ATL

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The staff at Clark Atlanta University is more than willing to help student exceed to the next level. I am a freshman and my teacher know me and everyone else in class. They give you that special one on one if you need it.
Am enjoying being here Atlanta is a great place to go to school and the school is involved well in the community there is a lot to do and it never boring. You can meet people in the AUC the (Atlanta University Center) which also includes Spelman and Morehouse
Bang for the buck I would have to that you get what you pay for, the school is great and a lot of great things can happen if you apply yourself.
Tips for prospective students If you are thinking about Clark Atlanta University I think you should of course see if the distance is something you can handle. A lot of student come from out of state and can't get back and forth home. You should also think about how big of a city Atlanta is and if you can handle being away.
Great for these types of students Any African American student who wants to attend an HBCU and likes the fact that it is very small. Also if you want to get a lot of internships and things of that sort

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot As a sophomore at CAU I haven been taught that networking is a major part of the college experience because meeting new people can one day lead to a job resource. CAU is a very challenging school and the course I have taken challenged me to think outside the box and be open to new learning techniques. Coming to CAU has been a wonderful experience and I am learning many new things every day.
Am enjoying being here Going to college in Atlanta is such a wonderful experience their are many new opportunities in the city of Atlanta especially if you are a Media Major. Also, outside of school their is live entertainment, the social life is amply, and being in the center of downtown provides many eatery places within walking distance.
Bang for the buck Clark Atlanta is worth the money coming to CAU will definitely give you the biggest bang for your buck. The education you will receive is worth the money, also their are so many organizations on campus that there is always a way of getting involved and giving back as well. The professors are nice and the dorms have been newly renovated and coming to CAU will be the best experience of your life time.
Tips for prospective students For incoming students you really need to join at minimum one organization on campus, there are so many to chose from and also network with others and do to class everyday, trust it will pay off. Also, don't get caught up in the party life know what you came to college for and stay focused.
Great for these types of students Clark Atlanta University has wonderful programs in Business, Mass Media Arts, Science, Post and Secondary Education and Computer Science

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I learned a lot from Clark not just in my school work but as a black woman entering the work force. I have changed because of Clark in a positive way. I done things that I never thought I would have ever imagined I could do. Getting to know my teachers was the best way for me to learn.
Am enjoying being here I love being at clark because of the diversity that it provides even though its a HBCU there are so many students for all over the United States that make it as fun as it is. To add to this diversity we also have Morehouse and Spelman college that are very close by.
Bang for the buck Now don't get it wrong Clark is very expensive and yes they could use try to update the campus and add more to it for as much as we pay but they surely don't. But if anyone were to ask me would I do it all over again and pay double I surely would because I LOVE CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tips for prospective students Come to clark with a focus mind set on exactly what you want to do because if you get off track it's hard to get back on the right pathway. Come with a open mind because you can do so many things and meet so many people that you stay contacted with for the rest of your life.
Great for these types of students Clark is great for all students especially students who haven't ventured out much.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Truthfully, with any college, you get what you give. I have an array of friends at Clark Atlanta, and some of them breeze through classes, but others choose challenging teachers that encourage them to excel academically. It's what you make it. Some classes (like the ones that are a breeze) could improve academic wise, but for the most part the academics at CAU are great. Another great learning aspect are the tools Clark Atlanta give you to help you find yourself personally. Not only do they prepare you for the job force, CAU prepares you for life! That's one thing I love about attending this HBCU.
Am enjoying being here Besides the countless encounters and memories I've come across during academic hours, the social life here is amazing. Considering CAU is close to downtown Atlanta, there are various activities you can get involved with. Lots of sight-seeing, attractions, and dining. On campus, there is just about an organization for anything you can think of. My advice to perspective students is to get involved!
Bang for the buck Considering it is a private institution, tuition is not the cheapest. Unless your getting federal aid, getting enrolled can become a hassle. Considering how much we pay to attend CAU, a lot of different ideas, organizations, academics, and activities could be implemented. It's just going to take the right aspiring student to change this.
Tips for prospective students GET INVOLVED!!!! Also, considering the social life in Atlanta is intriguing, remember what you came to school for. Stay focused, and the biggest aspect of successfully matriculating through any college is TIME MANAGEMENT! Choose your time wisely!
Great for these types of students Mass Media Majors, Business Majors, Outgoing individuals, Afro-Centric individuals, anyone who wants to experience a new environment.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Most of the classes that I have taken have allowed me to learn more than I thought I would, and not just academically. There are so many professors here that are really trying to help their students and will talk to you about anything. Even if it is something that is going on in your personal life. I have gained so much knowledge since making my transition and continuing my matriculation through CAU. As long as you attend all of your classes and work hard, it will not be a struggle. Honestly, there are a few professors who do not teach very well and will let their students get away with things that should not, but by talking to upperclassmen you can gain a lot of insight on which professors to take and which to stay away from.
Am enjoying being here I love being at CAU. There is always something to do to keep you occupied in your free time and being 10 minutes away from downtown makes it even that much better. The overall atmosphere on campus is phenomenal. Everyone treats each other like family and anyone who attends is bound to be treated with respect by both students and faculty.
Bang for the buck CAU is a fairly expensive university to attend but like any other private institution, that is expected. As a biology major, CAU may not have been the best choice for me HOWEVER, I have been given so many opportunities and have met so many great people in my field. These things may not have happened had I attended school somewhere else. I feel like the money that I spend on my education here will be worth it in the end. As far as housing goes, it is best to visit each dorm if you can to decide where you would want to live for the year because some dorms are definitely better than others.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you are mentally prepared to be in a city where temptation lurks every day. I have seen so many colleagues get pulled into the party life. I do not blame this on the institution but on the students' inability to choose between work and play. Also, the institution is beginning to really crack down on students who are falling behind and are not serious about gaining a higher education. So if you are not prepared to work, this school may not be right for you.
Great for these types of students - Hard working
- Prospective business majors
- Prosepective mass media majorsLogin to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot CAU definately offers a challenge academically. The teachers are very dedicated to their work and will work with you the whole way through.
Am enjoying being here With CAU being in the center of Atlanta, this offers a lot of things to do also many oppurtunities. Atlanta is a very high commercialized city which offers varies activities for all types of people. Clark Atlanta is also affiliated with a lot of other schools and organizations in the area, so there is never a dull moment.
Bang for the buck Clark Atlanta cost 33,000 dollars to attend every year. Yes, this may seem like a large amount but what you get for this amount is priceless. Once enrolled at CAU, students are able to take classes at Morehouse and Spelman for no additional cost. Attending CAU is an awesome chance to get diversity of the three schools that are in the Atlanta University Center (AUC).
Tips for prospective students If you plan on attending Clark Atlanta University, make sure you are mentally prepared for the school work and the social life. Be prepared to learn to balance out the two. Also before starting school, make sure everything you need to have straight with financial aid, student accounts, housing, etc. is correct.
Great for these types of students Great for people who love the night life, love to learn, and love to socialize.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning a lot about the black perspective in all my subjects. It has opened my mind to many more questions and thoughts that I didn't have in the past. In addition it has made me comfortable with who I am and what I want and need for my future.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being here because I get the freedom that I always wanted. Even though I get homesick, I manage to find different activities to involve myself it so that I can enjoy being away from home. The students are nicer than what I thought they would be. The network is so incredible it makes me feel like I have a second home that I am accepted at.
Tips for prospective students -make sure that you choose the appropriate class times for you. meaning please don't pick a 9 am class when you know that you don't get up until 11am.
-make enough friends so that you have a variety of things that you can do and get involved in for community service and free time.
-make a semi schedule for your harder classes so that you will pass them. meaning make a study schedule so you will be on track.
-make sure that you take the right amount of classes each semester so that you won't be on overload and fail classes that you will have to repeat.
-get to know your professors they are always willing to help you.Great for these types of students If your major is business, mass media arts, social work, or science you have a great opportunity to get all the necessary tools to better your future. My major is social work and by attending at Clark i can get my BA & masters within 5 years with a 3.0 or higher once i graduate with my BA.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot CAU has definitely been a great experience for me.This has always been my dream school since I have been in the 6th grade. So to finally achieve that goal is a blessing. Here we do learn a lot. I am currently a 2nd semester sophomore and my GPA is at a 2.9 now. The professors are there when you need them and they help you if you do not understand your work.
Am enjoying being here I just love Atlanta!!!It has a lot of culture here. And you meet so many people from various places
Tips for prospective students If CAU is one of your options that is a good choice. You will never experience the college experience until you come here.To me its not your typical HBCU this is a different and better experience. I'm in the marching band here and being in the band is something I did not plan on doing, but because of the family type environment I decided to join and now I am and will always be a MIGHTY MARCHING PANTHER!!!!F2BAMMP

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot When they said college was hard they lied to us all. You must apply yourself. Especially since your pushing out the bucks more rapidly than there coming in. Clark Atlanta is my home away from home. I guarantee any problem your dealing with they will try to help you. Although they can not solve every problem they definitely do reinforce their motto ill find a way or make one. Here they will mold you into the young man or woman you want to be. Teachers love to help they emphasize their office hours and they certainly acknowledge effort. All of my life I've waited for the day id be really proud of something. In August 2010 I honestly got that wish fulfilled when i stepped on campus and finally became a Clark Atlanta Panther. Culture for service its not just our Motto its our life.
Bang for the buck The food's not worth the almost 2k. but the education is surely worth every dollar

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Here at Clark Atlanta University, yes it is a HBCU but on the bright side you have so many diverse people from everywhere all over the world. yes professors may be from the US, Africa, Asia, etc. The only time i find it trouble to learn is when I don't understand my professors due to their accent. Clark Atlanta University does a great job on this by making sure its students have the tools and necessities they need.
Am enjoying being here Clark Atlanta University is one of the best things that has happened to me. What people don't know unless they come here is Clark Atlanta University is apart of the the Atlanta University Center, which is known as the AUC where all the colleges and universities get together and work together. Our close partners in a lot of the organizations and activities we do are partnerships with Morehouse College, Spelman College, Morris Brown College, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC). This makes college so much more fun because not only do you meet people from your school, but others as well which enables students to network even more which is an excellent opportunity here in the AUC.
Bang for the buck Clark Atlanta University is VERY expensive. It is a private school, but they hardly give out scholarships unless you play sports for them. Seeing that I unfortunately do not get financial aid, I pay out of pocket and $36,000/year is a lot of money; especially the way our economy is now a days.
Tips for prospective students Go to class, pay attention, take notes, and review notes everyday and your sure to get an A. Also use you professors to your advantage because they are here to help you, as well as always make sure your professor knows you by name so they know who you are. If they don't, when it comes to grading you it may stir up problems when coming up with class participation.
Great for these types of students Clark Atlanta University is great for students that love to have fun, but at the same time know when it's time to get down to school work. It is easy to get distracted because there is always something going on in the AUC, so if you are easily distracted, Clark Atlanta University is not for you if you want to get your moneys worth for school and get the education you paid for. But for students that are looking to broaden their networks, our Business School and our Mass Media Program is terrific! I LOVE MY SCHOOL (CAU)

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clark Atlanta University like any other institution is what you make it. In my 6 months of attending I have learned a lot about myself as well as my environment. It can be unorganized at times but overall as a school it is very good and holds true to the 'illustrious' title it is often given.
Tips for prospective students Stay focused on your books, there is a time and place for everything. Don't allow yourself to get distracted by the parties or the opposite sex, remain focused on the reason you came to Clark Atlanta University.
What to do for fun Spend time with friends, occasional partying, trips to the mall and movie theater.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Celebrities come on campus often. The food carts on the promenade are famous to those at Clark Atlanta as well as the surrounding schools

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I rate Clark Atlanta University at a 8 on a scale of 10. The school is very skilled in subjects in all majors and have some of the best teachers. I love the area and the atmosphere the school contains.
Tips for prospective students Be prepared for the long lines in the financial aid building as well as getting your classes. Do everything days or even weeks before the school gives students times and dates to get information or classes.
Academic Rigor Academics at Clark Atlanta University are very serious. The classes tend to be on the difficult side for most students including myself but the reward is worth a little difficulty.
Dorm Life Dorm life is actually the opposite from T.V and this goes for every school. Dorm life at Clark Atlanta University is an eye-opener, you get to meet new people from all over the United States and already a have a common goal which is graduating from Clark Atlanta University.
Food and Dining The food and dinning at Clark Atlanta University I would say is fine for the most part. Like any school it has its short-comings but over all it has good food and different varieties of food everyday.
What to do for fun What to do for fun at Clark Atlanta University is... there is alot of things to do. There will always be files and posters of activities going on, always shows and competitions, there many different clubs to join, we have a rec room that's located in our student center, and if you just want take a walk we have a very large area to walk as well as walk to check out our neighboring school Morehouse College.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is a very large area of grass that no one is to walk on. Myth states that if you walk on the grass anytime during your years at Clark Atlanta University you will not graduate.
Great for these types of students Curious
Open-minded
Out going
Serious about educationClubs and Activities There are a lot of clubs at Clark Atlanta University such as... All the East, West. South, Mid-West, North clubs, HA2 which is a dancing club, CAB which is the special events club, there's so many I can't remember them all.
Greek Life I personal don't know anything about greek life but from what I seen and heard it is like a close familyhood and service to others is their goal.
Campus Safety Since we are an open campus there are a lot of campus safety guards that check to make sure students are safe even at night they are always on duty.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clark Atlanta is the place to be. There is so many things you can do and get into, you should never be bored. They offer the best advices and classes a student can ask for.
Tips for prospective students 1)Make sure you have your money right because tuition is NO Joke!
2)Since its a very active school make sure you understand you purpose and what you came there for!
3)ALWAYS ask questions because there's people out there willing to help you.Academic Rigor Since I will be attending there in the fall I hear the profeesors are really helpful. They are so helpful they even give you their cell number for additonal help on work & test.
Dorm Life Now one thing I like about Clark's dorm life is they have a battle of the dorm halls. Simply meaning whatever dorm hall you stay in, you compete against the other dorm halls by doing a step show.Whoever can deliver it the most, that dorm hall is the hall that wins the ultimate competition. Which means you get bragging rights.
Food and Dining The food is delicious and you get a wide variety of food.
What to do for fun There is so much to do you can do clubs, band, dance team, sororities, fraternities, cheer leading, hanging out, partying, block parties.
Greek Life They are all over the place. They rep their Greek life to the fullest. They like to be known because they will do anything to get your attention.
Campus Safety The campus has good safety. They have visiting hours. If you have a visitor, you have to give them your I.D. card & they keep it until you leave. It lets them know when you have left & returned. If you haven't return when visitor hours are over they will know & come and get you.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clark Atlanta University (CAU) is a wonderful education institution that will challenge you both academically and will force you to develop and build strong character, in which you will take with you in the future as an adult.
Tips for prospective students The biggest tip i can give is stay focused! You can easily get distracted with all the extracurricular activities in which CAU has to offer. Do not lose sight of your educational goals.
Academic Rigor Academically all i can say is your experience is what you make it and more then less you will find yourself on a more independent study mode of education. The school provides one of the most illustrious Business and Biology programs in the country.
Dorm Life The residency life is fun if you have the right people around you to make it fun. There are visitation rules and regulations due to the location of the University, but overall its an enjoyable experience i recommend for everyone.
Food and Dining The food here sucks lol but no in all seriousness the food here is adequate but you will get tired of the limited selection in which the school provides for the students, so i advice if you can is to work and get groceries.
What to do for fun There are a lot of school organizations here for all types of interest. There are many days on the promenade of our campus in which the Greek organizations stomp the yard and hold events for the students. Also of course like any college there are many parties in which you can enjoy yourself.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus An unusual tradition from the top of my head would be the lip syncing whenever an event is held traditionally in the Multipurpose Room in the Henderson Student Center. It never fails that a lip syncing scene will be apart of the event which is when the performers have a scene playing on the speakers and they act as if it is their voice.
Clubs and Activities The clubs are great networking avenues for all and the activities are great stress relievers. The activities are also knowledgeable as well as tons of fun.
Greek Life The Greeks on campus are exciting and they really paint a real college atmosphere from the parties to the performances on the promenade.
Campus Safety I have to applaud campus safety because they are always everywhere! Which is a great thing of course. There are some officers I know personally that I speak to on campus daily. The relationships I have with them make me feel 10 times safer while on campus anywhere, anytime.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences CAU provided me with a profound education and prepared me for the real world. The Communications department is phenomenal and second to none! The professors were top notched and really pushed their students to excel.
Tips for prospective students Keep your nose in your books! Atlanta is a wonderful and exciting city which you can easily get carried away in if you don't have your head on right! Study first, then party! Don't ever think that you are the only one who has it together, because there are fabulous people coming from all over; it's not about where you came from, it's about where you're at and if you choose CAU, you are definitely in the right place!
Academic Rigor My professors in the Communications department always pushed their students to be top-notch and to excel.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Very good business and mass media departments. Depending on the teachers you may learn and you may not. The residence life is not the greatest because the curfew is for 11:30.
Tips for prospective students Definitely come and visit and ask as many questions before making your decision. When you get your award letters and packages it may look all good but it cost over 33k a year. Make sure visit other schools as well so you can have other options.
Academic Rigor I really haven't been challenged like I thought I would. I may learn something one day then the next two weeks I learn nothing. Teachers show up late a lot as well as miss numerous class days.
Dorm Life You don't have many options if you are a boy when it comes to dorms. You either stay in Pfeiffer Hall or the CAU Suites. Both are good places to stay in but you don't get visitation outside of the AUC (Atlanta University Center) and your guests have to be out by 11:30.
Food and Dining The food is pretty much the same thing every week. Their burgers are good but after a while you get tired of them. Every wednesday they serve Fried Chicken, Mac & Cheese, and Collard Greens which everyone loves but besides that it's pretty much the same things.
What to do for fun Well the first semester is much more fun then the second. There is an event almost every weekend and as freshman that's how you meet other people and form friendships. A lot of celebrities come to visit or host events so that's another plus. During homecoming week the freshman get to participate in the freshman stroll off and step show in which each dorm will battle each other for bragging rights.
Bang for the buck Not really to be honest. This school is not terribly bad, but for 33k it is not that great. There isn't much around the campus besides fast food restaurants and a tiny mall. That's why I'll say once again come visit and ask the PROPER questions before making your decisions.
Greek Life There's only the Alpha's and Q's for the guys. I don't know about the ladies because I don't see too much of them. As for as pledging you wouldn't want to do it until your junior year anyway and even then you still might not make it. The Greek life is so so on the campus, sometimes the frats do something but most of the time you barely see them unless it's at a party.
Campus Safety Don't really know too much about them but there are guards at the entrances throughout the day and night. After a certain time you must present your ID when upon the gate or you can't get in.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clark Atlanta University is a very interesting school. If considering going to this school really consider it before attending it so you don't have to go through the transferring process like I am doing now. It is not meant for everyone, but for the people it is meant for they love it.
Tips for prospective students Really look into the school before coming, so you know what you are getting into. Hang out with people that will encourage you to do better. Do not come here if all you are hoping for is to see a lot of celebrities because after a while it gets to be old.
Academic Rigor Depending on the professors you get, your classes can be extremely easy or extremely challenging. I would say if you are ready for the challenge and want a good academic experience to try joining the Honors Program as I am in. Dr. Jenkins is the director and will definitely take care of you as best as she can.
Dorm Life I live in the CAU Suites and pay a lot more than any other dorms to stay here. Although it is the best dorm to stay in of all the other underclassmen dorms, it still has its problems. The visitation rules are crazy, along with the people that are in charge.
Food and Dining The food in the cafeteria is not horrible. However, you may end up ordering out a lot because the walk to the cafeteria once you are in your room is not worth it. Also, there are barely any places to eat around the campus.
What to do for fun Join as many clubs that are fit for you. There are many places in the deep of downtown to go to enjoy yourself. The best time to be a student at CAU is during Homecoming; it is when you will enjoy yourself the most.
Bang for the buck The cost to attend CAU is a lot more than what is worth.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Sororities and Fraternities are really big here. Campus organizations each take a week and design the school's promenade which is this huge strip in the middle of the entire campus. When it is hot, the promenade is the place to be.
Greek Life Greek life is huge here. The strolling and stepping is probably the best part about the school.
Campus Safety Although campus police try to keep the campus safe, our campus is the only campus in the Atlanta University Center(AUC) that is ungated or closed off. It is open to whomever would like to come onto it. This includes homeless people, drug addicts, lunatics, and anyone else who lives around the area. The school's location is not very inviting.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clark Atlanta University is a family oriented school. Although I am away from home I still feel as though I am home due to the way I was welcomed with opened arms when I entered the doors.
Tips for prospective students Coming from High School it is a big change and make sure you are ready to be away from home and being on your own because you will get tested by many people.
Academic Rigor I went to a Magnet school that got me ready for college through the work and much more. So therefore the work isn't as challenging as I thought it would be but it is indeed a challenge.
Dorm Life I currently don't have a room mate so living in a dorm is wonderful. I do wish to have a room mate to talk to when I am having problems but at the same time its okay. Also the living space is a good amount and if I am having any problems the maintenance will be there as soon as possible.
Food and Dining The food is not like how I'm used to being fed at home but it will do for my time away from home. Since I am a freshman I am required to be on a meal plan so I get unlimited meals and that's another good thing about eating in the dining area.
What to do for fun Well for fun I am currently in the band but i would also like to start dancing because that is surely my life. There is also many clubs to join including clubs from your state so I am a proud member of the Texas Club.
