Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have a high school diploma, so some information that others are learning is review for me. All my classes teach new material and the teachers, for the most part, are very helpful.
Am enjoying being here Clayton State has a beautiful campus, except when it storms! The staff is always willing to help, whether teachers, the HUB (computer support), advisors, or any other department.
I don't like having to pay so many fees for services I don't use when I pay for classes. The fees make up a lot of the bill.Bang for the buck Clayton State is a cheaper community college, so it seems cheaper than other schools. For someone trying to save their money though, even between 1000 and 2000 dollars for 2 or 3 classes can be expensive. I am learning a lot though and do not have to travel far to go to school.
Tips for prospective students Apply, pay, and make sure you have all paper work filled out far ahead of time! Sometimes the way you are notified that you still have things to do before you are signed up for classes or registered is confusing.
Take time to enjoy the scenery.
The Lakeside Dining Hall may be cheap and all you can eat, but unless you want hamburgers, pizza, and salad all the time, check the menu before you pay.Great for these types of students People with smaller budgets, in the area, and looking for a beautiful campus should check out Clayton State.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors at Clayton State are so wonderful. They connect with the students on a personal level which encourages you to want to learn even more. They make sure you get your times worth in class and it's rare you will leave confused
Am enjoying being here Clayton State was not my first choice, but I do not regret attending the University. It is a very nice, warm, and inviting environment. Everyone is nice and it is always something to do on campus. I absolutely enjoy it here
Bang for the buck Clayton State is extremely cheap. Aim for the Hope Scholarship as an extra assistance. But you are able to pay for the tuition with or without small scholarships.
Tips for prospective students Time management!! The freedom of college is WONDERFUL! But it can get in the way. Nobody is there to tell you what to do and when to do it. You're completely grown by college. Just stay focus. Don't party too much! But enjoy your college life!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I feel like I do learn at lot attending Clayton State Unversity. Since it is still a relatively small school, there are more opportunities to get to know professors and recieve more one on one help when needed. Also, most professors are willing to help give you sound advice about achieveing your career goals.
Am enjoying being here Clayton State wasn't my first choice school, but I difinitely don't feel bad about being here. The faculty and staff here are amazing, the campus is very beautiful and there is something on campus for everyone to get involved in.
Bang for the buck While the fees make up most of the tuition bill, it is still cheap for the quality education you receive.
Tips for prospective students Always stay in communication with the people in admissions and financial aid until you have been fully processed into Clayton State's system. Also, don't be afraid to talk to any of the faculty or staff that you see on campus.
Great for these types of students Any.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clayton State University is a big college with a small college feel. The professors are wonderful and have time to meet with you one-on-one. It is a great college that is also close enough for me to commute.
Tips for prospective students Clayton State University is a great choice even if you do not want to stay there for four years. I didn't plan to stay, but I'm going to stay and receive my Bachelor's degree from here.
Academic Rigor While some of the core classes are relatively easy and simple, the higher level classes and honor's classes are challenging. Who doesn't like a good challenge?
Dorm Life This one I have to guess because I have not lived in the dorms. I commute, but I have heard the dorms are good and clean.
Food and Dining This is another guess because as stated before, I commute. I have eaten at the cafeteria only a few times when meeting with honor's groups. It was always good when I went.
What to do for fun There are several events going on every second. Emails pour in every day about an event for people to do. Clubs, concerts, meetings. Everyone will find something.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences clayton state university has been a big influence in my life choices for my future. throughout my attendance here at clayton state univ. i have found and developed my purpose for my field in sociology. this university provides the equitable services needed for success towards graduating to their entire student community with the add component, a healthy atmosphere for working staff members, which formulates a successful aurora for projected graduating students.
Tips for prospective students stay within your limitations. do not overkill yourself with frivolous distractions, friends, parties, etc. always communicate with your professor no matter what the case maybe.
Academic Rigor pro-work atmosphere for a pro-working community
Dorm Life never lived in a dorm but i understand it to be good for some and not so good for others.
Food and Dining multiple dinning facilities on campus
What to do for fun depending on your style their are a whole slue of activities to enjoy on and off campus.
Bang for the buck all types of programs on campus to save students money and for just being a student of clayton discounted perks off campus as well.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus out in any of the various parking area's for students you may find me in my car studying or in a peaceful meditation.
Great for these types of students working class students, young or seasoned, looking for a quality education in higher learning with a reasonable price tag.
Clubs and Activities a great variety
Greek Life strong both female and male organizations
Campus Safety very few incidents

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences clayton state university is a small university that values one on one relationships between the professors and their students. by the end of each semester, the professors not only know the students on a first name basis, but they know there majors, desires, and dreams they wish to pursue after college. though csu is a small and relatively unknown university, i value my education here because of the relationship i possess with my instructors.
Tips for prospective students clayton state university is not an incredibly arduous university to be accepted into; however, the teachers expect a lot from their students and will not allow new students to slack off.
Academic Rigor the first semester is a transitional period where new college students can adapt to college life. this semester is the only semester in which students take it easy because the second semester gets real hard real fast. the teachers try their best to challenge students, but they offer plenty of one on one help to students who wish to make the best grade possible.
Dorm Life the dorms are set up like apartments. each dorm consists of a living room, kitchenette, four bedrooms, and a bathroom on each side of the dorm. though the dorms are really nice, students are usually not in their own dorm; they are typically located in the student activity center or downstairs in the dorm's game room.
Food and Dining the food is typically sub par. flavorless fish, undercooked vegetables, and seafood-liver combinations are common dishes served at the dining hall.
What to do for fun when ever the students aren't studying for an exam or completing one of the thirty plus (no exaggeration) chemistry assignments, they can be found either working out or playing pool at the student activity center. csu lies in the center of morrow, near the movie theatre, mall, and large shopping center; therefore, when students become bored on campus, they can slip away to any of these locations.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences clayton state is an exceptional, gratifying, and a learning experience that a college student is definitely able to receive. the staff are great and the campus life is very outgoing! clayton is definitely the place to attend!
Tips for prospective students please do not come to this school and think that it's a joy ride because it is not. it is required and imperative that you show up for lectures because it can be hard to catch up after missing too many days.
Academic Rigor the academic is rigorous, but its not so rigorous that you can not make at least a c if you try. yes you do need to attend class, take time out to study, and listen carefully in class.
Dorm Life the dorms are very nice. they are only 5-6 years old so they are fairly new compared to other university dormitories.
Food and Dining the cafeteria food is ok. their sub sandwiches and burgers are very good. the school has a pizza hut, a subway, and a cafe for smoothies and fresh baked goodies!
What to do for fun there are a lot of activities that partake at this school. different organizations put thing together such as, white water rafting, going on trips out of state, etc.
Bang for the buck the tuition here is fairly cheap. this school may have the one of the cheapest tuitions in georgia.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors at CSU are always available when you need additional help with class topics and they continuously encourage students to push themselves to learn and participate more - whether it is in the classroom, on the campus or within the community. Overall, I can't and won't complain as to how much I am learning.
Am enjoying being here Everyone, from staff to students, is very polite, courteous, upbeat, and helpful at CSU. The campus is well maintained and classes are easy to find.
Bang for the buck The cost is very affordable & reasonable, with the high level of education that you receive.
Tips for prospective students Apply to Clayton State University ... you will not regret it!
Great for these types of students All students that want to learn and meet a diversed group of people.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot At Clayton State you will receive a large amount of knowledge in your courses of study. Although it isn't a highly rated school amongst all because of it's class scheduling issues, I'm certain it is fine.
Will enjoy being here The campus is beautiful and easy to get to. Unfortunately it isn't in the safest area, but you should be fine on campus.
Bang for the buck It is an extremely cheap community college and you should look into it if you aren't willing to pay more. Also, if you get grants, it helps out.
Tips for prospective students Tips: Look into other schools, visit campuses, enjoy.
Great for these types of students It's great for all sorts of students. Also, their cross country team is pretty great. They hold cross country matches there as well. You may want to look into it.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I have only experienced one of the open orientations that they offer, but from that and from what current students have told me about the school; it is a perfect match for a person like me. I wasn't a star in high school and needed a school that would give me a second chance to do and be better and Clayton State is that school.
Tips for prospective students Research all of your options and don't decide something this important on word of mouth. You need to actually do the research because what is right for some, isn't right for all.
Academic Rigor Depends on what type of worker you are. I've seen a few assignments given to current students and it is doable, but make sure you come ready to work.
Dorm Life Dorms are very spacious and apartment style, although not for everybody.
Food and Dining Don't buy the everyday or almost everyday plan because there are other dining options on and off campus.
What to do for fun Parties, make friends and hang out. You are right outside Atlanta and if you want to stay near campus, there's an AMC theater and South Lake mall is on the same exit.
Bang for the buck Really cheap considering you have smaller classes, many majors to choose from and the amount of extras that your money pays for that are included
Great for these types of students People that didn't do all that well in high school and need a school that will help them develop.
Clubs and Activities Basketball and Soccer are doing really well.
Campus Safety Those are real police aon campus nd they do not play around, a word to the wise.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I absolutely love and thoroughly enjoy going to school at CSU. The campus, professors, and proximity are incredible and beneficial. I am hoping to graduate from the Nursing Program from CSU in the future.
Tips for prospective students The scenic campus is breathtaking. Most of the professors or structured, organized, and helpful to students needs. The main campus is in proximity to the interstate.
Academic Rigor I am hoping to learn and engage in particular subjects and topics that interest me. Medical and nursing courses are great preps for students entering into the program.
What to do for fun I take care of my 5 beautiful girls (dogs) and try to live life to its fullest when feasible and possible. Trying to enjoy friends and family's company as much as possible.
Bang for the buck I am trying to earn and/or receive grants/loans/scholarships to pay for my nursing school. Due to me graduating with an Associates in Business Management and Administration years ago, my financial aid will exhaust prior to me entering a nursing program.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The tend to have a lot of informational drives around campus for different things that are offered to students, such as programs, classes, tutoring. Its to inform students that practically don't know too much about what CSU has to offer.

Academic Rigor Most classes are large, so one-on-one with the teacher may be a little hard to get.
Dorm Life The dorms are co-ed. Each student has their OWN room.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences CSU is student friendly, even for students with disabilites, yet it is academically challenging. It has a beautiful campus and has recently added new residential facilities. The Georgia State Archives and the Federal Archives are situated in close proximity to the campus.
Tips for prospective students Do not be afraid or embarrassed to ask questions. Everyone at CSU wants to help. Attend the concerts, dramas, sports events, and other activities. They will help you quickly become apart of the school. Do not forget your dental health. There is an excellent dental school at CSU and the prices are very reasonable.
Academic Rigor CSU is academically challenging. It is up to you to take advantage of this opportunity. However, the professors and staff are exceptional and go the second-mile to help those who want to learn. The Center for Academic Success (CAS) offers a variety of personalized academic services to all Clayton State University students, including staff and peer tutoring and multimedia instruction.
Dorm Life Because CSU was a community based commuter school, dorm life was a low priority. However, over the years CSU has grown and developed from those humble beginnings into a first-class University including dorms. Ample reserved parking is available for all dorms.
Food and Dining CSU offers a variety of dining options across campus. It includes an all-you-care-to-eat Lakeside Dining Hall, a stop by Pizza Hut, SubConnection, or Jazzman's Cafe for a fast service.
Lakeside Dining Hall
The Lakeside Dining Hall is the meal plan dining hall at Clayton State. Guests may also purchase a meal at the door (Breakfast $ 5.00 + tax; Lunch, Brunch, and Dinner $ 8.00 + tax)What to do for fun There are a lot of activities on the campus but being close to Atlanta also offers the opportunity to attend Atlanta Braves games, the Georgia Aquarium, the High Museum, the Fox Theater, the World of Coke, Stone Mountain Park, and Six Flags. There are many other fun things to do around the campus including, but not limited to, the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Parlor.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Central to the CSU campus is a gorgeous lake that is home to wildlife including ducks, fish, swans, turtles, and geese. Nature lovers and exercise enthusiasts will be more than pleased to stroll, walk, or run the paths around the lake and campus.
Great for these types of students CSU is a diverse university with students of all ages, races, and physical abilities. I cannot imagine any student who would not find new and different friends while acquiring knowledge for a lifetime. There are students who graduated from high school early and students like me who have returned to school during retirement. We mix together well. We are truly a community that reflects the world.
Clubs and Activities Most academic departments have clubs that are open to majors and other students who share an interest in the subject. There are religious and secular clubs available as well. Clayton State currently has over 70 student organizations representing student interests in everything from cultural awareness to medical professions...
Greek Life Included in the 70 plus organizations on the campus are fraternities and sororities. For those who are interested, there is a link on the school website that will give more information.
Campus Safety I have always felt safe on the CSU campus. The campus police are visible and accessible. Parking lots are well-lit at night. The IT office sends alerts to student websites and email accounts to warn of threatening weather (which does not happen often). Obviously, no place is guaranteed safe but of all the college campuses I have been on, CSU is the best protected. I am unaware of crimes on the campus although off campus students are encouraged to go in groups and to stay in well lighted and well traveled areas.

Tips for prospective students Get engaged in the school activities. Take the chance to get to know your academic advisor. See you interest they are in helping you.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences They are very different from the rest, not big on sports, so not that big on school spirit but they do try to get you involved.
The teachers care so they work you hard so that you understand all the material you would need to succeed in your given field.
They try to make sure every student is a successful leader and they also do a lot of community service projects and that is one of the best aspects of the school.Tips for prospective students Be ready many students say CSU is the Harvard of the south.
Academic Rigor Some majors are easy, of course anything dealing with Health-care (Biology, Nursing, Health-care Management) are the hardest. They really do prepare you for the real world.
Dorm Life Never stayed in the dorm (only for freshman), but I have heard that it is not the best. The student apartments are better.
Food and Dining The dining hall is not all that great; but the Pizza Hut station is pretty good and the little coffee shops they have are the best and those places make up for the dining hall.
What to do for fun The student activities center is the place to be (you can work out and take great fitness classes and most of the seminars that are good for you tend to be in that building), and every week an organization is putting on something so you will always have something to do.
Bang for the buck In terms of education and helpfulness yes, you are getting what you paid for. The teachers are there to help, center for academic success, the career service (to help you find a job, even after graduation), campus life (in terms of leadership classes and volunteering opportunities); they are all good places to go to get help and have fun. Especially outdoor adventure that is also through campus life. Outdoor adventure is hiking, skiing, caving; I would honestly say that is the best part.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The school does not have any traditions, it is about 15 minutes south of Atlanta.
Great for these types of students The school is for people who can balance themselves between academics, (because the teachers are very rigorous and they hold a lot of midnight study sessions because of it) and those fun times when they do spring carnivals, have those trips for outdoor adventure and things of that nature.
Clubs and Activities There are a lot of clubs and organizations that do so many activities it is very hard to choose what you want to do in any given night on top of doing your studying and your homework. But there is every club for every major so at least join your major's club.
Greek Life It is very rare to see Greek life (like stomping the yard or parties) on campus unless you are a part of that Greek life. However, they do have informative talks, and community service projects at least once a semester.
Campus Safety They pass out parking tickets like chewing gum but they keep you safe.
:) There are telephone polls all around for emergencies and they help you out in terms of needing a jump to start your car or if you are locked out of your car. Also a very important thing if you do not want to walk back to your car, dorm or apartment by yourself, they offer escorts for safety.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Clayton State University is a great school for nursing, business, and biology majors. I like it here but it's not many students first choice. Most students stay until their sophomore or junior year and then transfer to another college.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you have a good GPA and was involved in extracurricular activities as well as volunteer work.
Academic Rigor The work is not easy but if you study hard and have good time management skills then you will be fine.
Dorm Life The dorms are nice besides the ants, gnats, and ladybugs that may get in your room. The Residents Assistants do have activities and events that go on every week to do. The kitchen and laundry is downstairs and there are study rooms on each of the four floors.
Food and Dining The dining hall is disgusting, however Pizza Hut, SubConnection, Sandella's, and Jazzman's Cafe is pretty good. The dining hall is under Sodexo, but the food is just not worth the money at all. Especially since the grade dropped to an A to a C in 2011.
What to do for fun There are not many things to do on campus for fun except maybe walk around the lake, go to the gym, or the game room if there are no activities happening on campus.
Bang for the buck Everything is worth the money except the meal plan. Freshman are required to get the meal plan, but I do not encourage to get one after that.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus We have a Bent Tree located outside by our University Center and if you rub it then it's good luck to graduate on time.
Great for these types of students Good school for those students who do not like to party and want to stay focused on academic work.
Clubs and Activities There are many clubs and organizations you can get involved in, but a lot of them are unorganized but you do meet a lot of new friends and it helps with networking. Campus Events Council, D.E.E.P., Power House Models and SAAB are the main ones with events happening most of the time.
Greek Life Without Greek Life the school would definitely be boring, because of lack of campus life.
Campus Safety The campus safety is great! There is rarely anything bad happening on campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I love the classes, teachers, and faculty at CSU. The school is set up around providing me with the best options that will lead to my ultimate success. I would highly recommend anyone to dual enroll, or start off their college experience at CSU.
Tips for prospective students Dual en-roll! Do all you can to graduate from high school with college credits already behind you. I worked really hard in high school so that I graduated at age 16. Now, at age 17, I have a year of college behind me with 31 college credits. Because of this, it is much easier for me to be accepted or invited to a transfer school with a good scholarship.
Academic Rigor Academic rigor is ultimately up to how involved you choose to become.
Dorm Life I have never lived in the dorms, but I've stayed there sometimes. They are really nice and you feel very safe in that environment.
Food and Dining Great food and dining!
What to do for fun They always have activities going on during the week and on the weekends. Concerts, recitals, performances, and games are always happening somewhere.
Bang for the buck I feel like some classes may be over priced. I also feel like the majority of the students don't have much personality or drive.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus An unusual location could be the gym--lots of gym junkies can be found at late hours of the night.
Great for these types of students Students wanting to graduate high school early.
Students interested in graduating high school with college credits.
Students who are just starting college but want to stay close to home.
Students who need to be accepted for financial aid.Clubs and Activities All sorts!
Greek Life Not much?
Campus Safety Occasionally I get an e-mail warning about a knife fight, robbery, or thief. However, that only happened about 3 times in the year I was there.
