Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have met so many different people from many different cultures. Because of its' low cost for basic courses, many people from other countries come here! It is so cool!
Am enjoying being here Everyday is an adventure. I never know who I may end up meeting! A wealthy guy from India or maybe a nice friend who lives 10 minutes from the college who I wouldn;t have met if it weren't for this college.
Bang for the buck Definately. This college is the best. Basic classes here are half the price than they would be somewhere else like UNLV.
Tips for prospective students Come with an open mind and be ready to work. It's still college, and you do have to work hard to get good grades. Ask for help if you need any! There are so many privileges and benefits that come with attending here! They have services for the disabilitated, working moms, and those who don't speak much English.
Great for these types of students Anyone who would like to save some money on college and invest it somewhere else. It doesn't even matter if you have plenty of scholarships. In that case, you'll be able to spend it on other things like books. That is, ofcourse, if you can't. It's also great for studetns who are intimidated by large colleges and will be attending college for the first time.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Classes are small. Very interactive. Online classes are GREAT here. Not as hard as I thought they would be. To be honest, I'd rather do online classes than be at the campus because it gives you more free time and the distance learning is very easy
Am enjoying being here It's alright. The age range varies greatly here, so don't expect just young teens/adults. There are so many different types of people here, not just your usual party goers. Campus is clean and great looking. They offer so many great classes here.
Bang for the buck Since it's a community college, class prices are cheap. It's a very great way to get ahead start on your general classes before you transfer to a university, or great for those who just want their associates. It's a very affordable price, especially if you have the millennium or grants (then you won't have to pay a dime to go here!)
Tips for prospective students There are countless amounts of classes here. Research each class before you take it to make sure it's what you would like to take. They have just about anything! Watch out when you sign up for classes and make sure you assign them all at the same campus because you wouldn't want to run around different campuses for all your classes. Parking takes forever since there's so many people and smaller lots so try to get to class earlier!
Great for these types of students anyone! anyone who wants to just get their general ed credits out of the way or for those who want to start their career soon. Classes are easy, professors are pretty good as well. I wouldn't suggest you complete your major here though. It's great to get all your lower classes first. Unless if you are pursuing your associates degree then it's the perfect college for you

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences CSN has a good amount of classes, good teachers, and a pretty helpful counseling center. It is very easy to get into classes, no crashing required ever. As far as community colleges go, College of Southern Nevada is a good school.
Tips for prospective students It is easy to choose which instructor you get, so look them up first. Also get to class a little early, parking is horrible here. Try to take on campus classes instead of online, the instructors are more dependable.
Academic Rigor This is only a two year college, so you only have basic general education, plus a few specified degrees like nursing or hospitality management.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at this school, it's a community college.
Food and Dining The three campuses only offer a couple choices for food, but the food is not too bad for cafeteria food. There is a small cafe on every campus so you can get your coffee fix in the morning, and Russel's restaurant at the Cheyenne campus is very good.
What to do for fun The school is in Las Vegas, so there are a multitude of options for fun, and everyone can find something they like to do.
Bang for the buck This is a great school to get your general ed done before transferring to a university, or even if you are just getting your associates degree this place is great.
Great for these types of students It is great for someone who wants to get general ed done at a community college or for someone who is just going for their Associate's degree. If you get your AA from CSN you are automatically accepted to UNLV
Clubs and Activities There are a few clubs on campus, but I have yet to find one that appeals to me. I am still looking though, so there may be some out there.
Greek Life There really is no greek life to speak of on campus, or at least nothing i have seen or heard of.
Campus Safety They are really good about security at the school, I have never felt unsafe, even during night classes.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I've had some really great professors, but I have yet to feel truly challenged.
Am enjoying being here It's definitely hard to make friends at CSN. The general mentality is something like, get class over with and get back to my own life.
Tips for prospective students Don't worry too much. Going to college at CSN is a breeze.
Great for these types of students If you want to save a bunch of money on your gen ed. CSN is great. It's also a smooth transition from high school to college, because sometimes it feels just like high school as far as class levels and general student atmosphere/attitude.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The amount of learning you expect will depend upon the teachers you get. They have a lot of really amazing teachers but there are still a number of teachers that lack enthusiasm in their jobs and their students. Most teachers at CSN give relatively easy homework because of the different students mixed in a class who have capabilities and knowledge, yet you absolutely learn from them. Expect to be in a class with high school students as well as those who haven't been in school for while and I love this fact about the student diversity. You definitely develop better people skills by working with different nationalities and age groups.
Am enjoying being here I met some of my best friends for life at CSN! Not to mention the opportunities there are in the school. I was able to intern with Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign through the school as well as find my first ever job.
Bang for the buck It's relatively on the pricier side in comparison to other community colleges in other states. One credit is about $65 yet if you are an out of state student taking up to six credits in a semester, you don't have to pay the very expensive out of state fee unlike other colleges which automatically charge you the lump out of state sum upon registering for classes.
Tips for prospective students I suggest going on rateyourprofessor.com since most CSN teachers are rated as well as asking tips from students. Also, I suggest avoiding taking classes at the Cheyenne campus. Though most of the best facilities such as the athletic center and most school activities are based there, it's generally not a very safe area. I suggest the Charleston campus which is the campus where we have the most number of students taking classes.
Great for these types of students High school students since CSN has amazing high school programs! As well as those who have been out of work for a while but really CSN will work well for any student.

Am enjoying being here i enjoy being here because it would help me to become a better understanding of what a business can do for me and to help me prepare for a future business or job that I'm interested for that is related to business.
Tips for prospective students you should be able to work hard to get where you want to be. you have to have the passion to what you are majoring in and be able to have fun and be able to work well with others. only you have the ability to achieve what you want to in life and your future.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professor's differ among each other of course and have their own ways of teaching certain things but they are very good and well-educated. They are helpful and look to have each of their students succeed.
Am enjoying being here The campuses are small and very easy to get around. Everything is very easy to find and the staff are very helpful and friendly. There are campus officers always driving around through out the day/night to control the parking lot. The student population is very diverse. The teacher's are very good. The campuses are very easy to find. There are 3 locations in the Clark County area. They offer lots of programs to help students and great classes.
Bang for the buck The prices for the classes are reasonable like any community college. A lot cheaper than any university. CSN is affordable.
Tips for prospective students Apply early and research the classes you want to take. Make sure you know what class and teacher you want before you schedule your classes. CSN as well as any school gets busy when the deadline to applying is close so it's smart to register as soon as possible. The online registration is easy to use. I would also be aware of all the deadline dates for adding/dropping classes.
Great for these types of students Any student who is a full-time/part-time employee, parent, adult, re-turning student, transfer, in financial need, or any student who needs to take their basic classes. CSN is a great school to attend to if your anybody.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences CSN is filled with young people, though there are also a decent amount of older students. Most of the professors seem to genuinely enjoy teaching. CSN offers numerous services to assist students in achieving their goals, including complimentary tutoring.
Tips for prospective students Go to class; you'll get better grades. Participate in class discussions. Register early if at all possible.
Dorm Life CSN does not have dorms to my knowledge.
Food and Dining They serve Starbucks Coffee - major plus.
Bang for the buck You can get your core requirements done for much less than you could at a 4 year university.
Campus Safety Not exactly crawling with campus police, but they are there should you need them.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The College of Southern Nevada provides an entry-level academic experience for people of all ages, ethnicities, and education backgrounds. With its flexible schedules and numerous campuses, most students are able to fit their classes comfortably into their lifestyle. Most of all, it is highly affordable.
Tips for prospective students The best advice I can give any prospective student is to understand financial aid (what actions may render you ineligible); utilize www.ratemyprofessor.com to obtain the best instructor possible; and to persevere pleasantly - remember, the person on the other side of that desk is as human as you are.
Dorm Life I cannot rate this; I do not live on campus.
Food and Dining I cannot rate this; I do not eat here.
What to do for fun I do not socialize on campus; I am here only for class.
Bang for the buck Overall, I feel I have 90% ROI (return on investment). A few instructors failed to deliver according to my standards, but I since learned about www.ratemyprofessor.com and have avoided those that are just milking the system for the paycheck.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I am not aware of any unusual traditions or locations.
Great for these types of students I first attended this college fresh out of high school in 1973; 35 years later, I returned to finish my degree.
Clubs and Activities I do not participate in clubs and activities, so am unable to rate them.
Greek Life I don't know what this is.
Campus Safety Campus security is visible, but I do not attend school alone.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences With three main campuses across the Las Vegas valley, and hundreds of courses I found CSN to be an accessible and affordable college. The professors that I have taken so far seem to truly care about your education, especially in the Biology department. The Human Anatomy & Physiology courses are more extensive than most Universities.
Tips for prospective students Be self motivated, no one schedules your classes for you. This is college and your expected to be disciplined. Stay focused and pay attention in class and you'll do just fine! Good luck!!!!!
Academic Rigor It all depends on your courses. I have taken A&P 1 and 2, Microbiology, chemistry, etc... and those types of course are harder than say history of rock music.
Dorm Life None offered that I'm aware of...
Food and Dining Cheap and tastes okay, but not a lot of variety.
What to do for fun They have a ton of things going on at the Cheyenne campus.
Bang for the buck Cheaper than UNLV and the classes transfer right into UNLV.
Great for these types of students Second chance students and first timers alike. Really diverse populations of students
Clubs and Activities Phi Theta Kappa - International Honor Society!
Campus Safety Campus police are always on patrol and I have never had an issue.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I would give CSN a 7 out of 10. The teachers are great, for a community college and they have a new program to get your Bachelors degree in Business! Also the food here is not bad as well, pretty cool.
Tips for prospective students I would say for the future students looking to attend CSN, its a good investment because in attending a 2yr college you can get an associates degree and get a great job with that degree and then continue to a 4yr college and finish out a bachelors or masters degree! And CSN offers so many different programs!
Academic Rigor A lot of the people that attend CSN do well as far as academics. As long as you do your work and take advantage of the free programs that they give you at the school like tutoring, you should do fine.
Dorm Life Since this is a community college, there are no dorms but there are apartment complexes near the school.
Food and Dining The restaurants that they have here are the American deli, which has everything from chicken fingers to vegetarian lasagna. Then there is a sub place where you can get subs and in the front of the school there is a small cafe where you can get coffee and doughnuts and smoothies.
What to do for fun For fun they have all types of clubs that you can join. There's an anime club, FBLA, French club, dance club etc. There is also a gym that you can attend for just $5 for the entire semester and also in the gym they have intramurals where you can participate in. Also they have events every now and then where you can win prizes or career fairs that go on.
Bang for the buck Csn is one of the largest 2yr colleges in the nation. It has a high success rate and like many other colleges you can transfer most of your credits.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Not that I know of.
Great for these types of students Great for all types of students, theres something for everyone.
Clubs and Activities FBLA
FRENCH CLUB
DANCE CLUB
ASIAN ASSOCIATION
ANIME CLUB
ETC...Campus Safety Safety isnt really a problem here. It is a nice and safe college and there are security guards around and patrolling in case something does happen.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences My first look at the college is, dull because it’s more of an institute rather than a social place. Its as if they have dumbed down everything down to the choice of paint, which has psychological effects to the carpet and landscape. Lastly is that I depend more on just going to class rather than going to school, which is sad because I should enjoy going to the school to learn from my teacher, not going just to wish I could leave as soon as my first class is over, heck I’ve four classes.
Tips for prospective students I wouldn’t count on being a part of anything here at this school, unless you’ve got friends that go here or go with you. This school is an institution which promises more separation than most. This school is the place to go to transfer over to UNLV which I guess if you’re looking to gain friends in that sense then you’ll be a t the right place.
Academic Rigor I cannot say this for all, though the 6 teachers I’ve had already do challenge you. You have to have an open mind at any college but here the teachers do their best to push whatever educated ego you have out. For me that deserves 5 stars.
Dorm Life Cannot comment here, Im not even sure they have dorms.
Food and Dining We have one on campus restaurant though I have not been, besides that from word of mouth I didn’t know it existed until a teacher asked where should we go out to eat at, still we choose an off campus restaurant. Guess it isn’t all that great.
What to do for fun Those who go here have only the gym and field. As I’ve said before this is an institute not a social gathering school.
Bang for the buck The teachers make it worth it, still the college as a whole could kick in.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus None
Great for these types of students Needing a push to move into something bigger and or greater than what you're currently doing, this place will do the job. It's like an ugly stepping stone but so big you think of it to be to easy.
Clubs and Activities The students do post up small events and clubs, though usually having nothing to do with education, mostly music events and karate/work out classes.
Greek Life Havent seen any
Campus Safety Where ever there are capitalist and corporation you know they have their goons, here they got them very well trained, actual shoot first ask later Las Vegas police officers, not school patrol.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Teachers are great here but they don't push their students in the way that the students want to push themselves to succeed. As far as the learning experience, it is okay. The teachers just follow their curriculum but don't add the excitement.
Tips for prospective students It is a good place to get your generals done.
What to do for fun CSN has three different campus' so it depends which campus you are in. There is usually a park near the college campus' and also there is a theatre and a mini shopping mall.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The college of southern nevada is a really easy going campus. Everyone is kind an friendly, and the professors are really good as well. I'm glad i am a part of this community.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you know the books you need for your classes so in the first week at the bookstore you have the chance to RENT your book and not have to buy it full price.
Academic Rigor They're strict on cheating and plagirism. That's one objective all of my teachers always bring up.
Dorm Life There are no Dorms on this campus.
Food and Dining Food at the cafeteria is really good, i became addiced to their french fries.
What to do for fun You can go watch plays on weekends if they have any showing. The lounge is pretty chill so you can meet up with your friends and study there or just simply catch up before class.
Bang for the buck You can watch videos on the computers as to any website so if you're ever bored or class is canceled you can go do that. Also, there's a gym if you want to go work out and like i had mentioned before the lounge is a pretty good place to just kick back and relax.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The campus once a month usually has a free burgers at the front of the building so that's pretty awesome.

Tips for prospective students Do your best while attending a two-year institution and you will have more opportunities available to you upon transfer to a four-year college.
Academic Rigor You will get out what you put in. There is a great Honors program available for students who wish to challenge themselves.
Food and Dining There are, I believe, Five outlets spread over the campus (West Charleston), all with above-average fare.
What to do for fun There are plenty of clubs and organizations to join, and the Performing Arts Center at the Cheyenne campus always has something going on, for a nominal, or no, fee for students.
Bang for the buck I am receiving a top-notch education at the College of SOuthern Nevada. I love the facilities -- we have a first-rate library.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences This is a great school for new and returning students. You get the freedom to learn at your own pace. Also, they have classes to fit any schedule.
Tips for prospective students If you're not quite sure what classes to take see a counselor, or take a some of your general study courses. Once you get started you will obtain A better feel for what it is you enjoy. Don't be afraid to get started.
What to do for fun There are many fun and interesting classes you can take. You can do anything form dance to art classes. I even took an English lit class that was all about the Harry Potter series. School can be fun.
Bang for the buck You pay a much smaller fee than you would, say at UNLV. However, you do get a great deal of the same instructors. CSN is a great deal. It may seem like you're paying a lot, but in actuality you're not. YOu can't put a price on your future.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There are a few patios that I enjoy sitting on in-between classes. There are many quite and restful places throughout the campus. You can always find a nice place to relax and study outdoors.
Great for these types of students CSN is great for students who also must work a full/part-time job. I have been working non stop since my junior year of high school, and I still found the time to take classes at CSN.
Clubs and Activities You can take p-art in many clubs at CSN. Some people don't have the luxury of time to do so, nonthelesss, it is still available. The student government also hosts many events throughout the year.
Campus Safety I have never had any problems with safety at any of the campuses.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The College of Southern Nevada is a small college. It's major goal is to have a student gain their associate's degree in two years. When that is done, the student will be able to transfer to a university to further attain a higher education like getting their bachelors or master's degrees.
Tips for prospective students Questions are always welcomed. Especially, if you do not know what to do in the jumble of college applications, acceptance letters, financial aid, ect. Don't EVER be intimidated to ask because ignorance is not bliss when it comes to college. In all honesty, there are NO dump or stupid questions. Also, always make sure that ALL your paperwork has been processed at the time frame given by the college. If it hasn't, then call until it is done. There is nothing better than being persistent. It gets the job done.
Academic Rigor It depends on the classes you take and your professors. Generally, if you read the material and study; the class will be a piece of cake. If you do not; then you will fail. It's as simple as that. There will be classes that will challenge you to your fullest potential, while others will breeze by.
Dorm Life There are no dorms on campus.
Food and Dining I honestly have never tried the food there, except for the occasional Starbucks frappachino. And those are the best!
What to do for fun I usually just study with some friends in the library and there are frequent fairs that as students we are welcomed to attend. It is not mandatory, though.
Bang for the buck The college is pretty quaint. It's small and honestly, you go to school and don't have time to really hang out with anyone. The people that are in your classes are the ones who you'll mostly likely see every other day. Other than that...it's just business. You go to school and then you go home.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Nothing really. It's a community college so your main focus is attaining your degree in two years.
Great for these types of students It's great if you want to stay in the city and save a few hundred on tuition for two years.
Clubs and Activities I'm not very familiar with clubs or activities. I do know that there are sports teams and recreational fields for tennis, baseball, and cheerleading.
Greek Life There are no fraternities or sororities.
Campus Safety It is extremely safe. In the past few months that I've attended the college there hasn't been any police report sent to my email. You don't have to worry about being assaulted by a stranger since it's a small campus and you are surrounded by people often.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences if you want to come to a school that you can just focus on your studies then this is the place for you to go. csn is a school where students come mainly to learn. it's a small environment not really built around its involvement, but like any college, it's what you make of it that matters.
Tips for prospective students for tips, i would probably say choose your classes as early as you can because classes fill quickly. also, for any college you go to, i recommend taking a fun classes just for you, whether it's art or latin dance. it's a good way to really find the fun in your education without pure stress.
Academic Rigor it really depends on the teacher that you choose. ratemyprofessor.com was the site i used to choose my teachers and it really is a helpful tool by students for students. if you take what students have said, classes can me easy or difficult, depending on the challenge you take.
Dorm Life there is no dorm life at csn.
Food and Dining the food is super delicious, i'm not going to lie, but be prepared to pay overpriced food.
What to do for fun there are some clubs you can join and events to do like flag football. but you have to have the transportation if you go to cheyenne campus or west charleston.
Bang for the buck i think that i am actually getting a pretty good education. i didn't have to pay much because scholarships came to save the semester, especially since the school is really cheap. but if you really take the time to read the textbooks and participate, you can get a lot out of it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus not that i know of.
Great for these types of students it's great for people who really want to focus on their education and want to just take classes. it's a community school. you get what you put out of it. if you have a goal and passion to work towards something, it's a good place to go.
Clubs and Activities there is a gay/straight/lesbian/trans. club, international club, spirit squads, honor society, and a few more that can fit peoples personalities. you can also start your own!
Greek Life sadly, there is none.
Campus Safety campus patrols are usually wandering around. i feel pretty safe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences csn is a very affordable college. it is meant to only jumpstart your career choices, and is a gateway to other universities.
Tips for prospective students go for basic degrees here and then transfer to a university. there are plenty of reasons to come to csn--the affordability, and the vast amount of locations (three main buildings plus smaller campuses all around town), just to name a few. always go on ratemyprofessor.com to check out the different professors you may be getting.
Academic Rigor just like any other college, the professors can vary from i don't care what you do to you better study every night or else you're not going to get a good mark on these exams.
Dorm Life no dorms.
Food and Dining vast amounts of places to dine at the charleston and cheyenne campus. since the cheyenne campus has the culinary program, there is a restaurant there in which culinary students participate in making the food. it's pretty good! charleston has a lot more food vendors, though, from building b, d, i, h (at night), and k.
What to do for fun it's las vegas--there's plenty to do for fun. on campus there are clubs you can join, events that happen every so often. it's not all that much like normal university life, but keep in mind this place is considered a community college.
Bang for the buck with the recent budget cuts and increased tuition bill -- csn is still cheaper than unlv/unr by far. a 12 credit semester is only around $1,100 for the credits themselves. books, obviously, depend on the courses selected.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus opportunity village is right across the parking lot of building k! there's also a day care center across the street of building c on community college drive.
Great for these types of students locals or students that are just starting their degrees. take general education courses for a lot less money than you would spend at universities or private institutions--just make sure they transfer!
Clubs and Activities i am not in any club, but i know there are a vast amount of them around campus. student government (as well as other clubs) like to sell/give out treats mainly in building b and building d.
Greek Life none that i know of.
Campus Safety i haven't experienced anything negative, and i've seen a lot of campus security while walking around.

Tips for prospective students attending is the first step. just go you have to start off somewhere this is a great place to start.
Academic Rigor you just have to do what you came to do work. you have to put it your all in order for you to get those good grades. they don't give you 20 assignments for you to do it all. their are reasonable teachers if you need help they give you ways so you can be able to contact them if you need help, what great help than from the one who knows.
Dorm Life csn does not have any dorms but they do care and fill you with information on how you can get a apartment near the school. they help you throughout your search.
Food and Dining they don't provide food :/ but they have some vending machines.
What to do for fun there is a great library to go to is big and their is so many students which can help you and you can also meet people there. it is open til 8 pm i believe.

Academic Rigor normal.
Food and Dining very expensive, low quality food.
What to do for fun i work a full time job.
Bang for the buck the va pays for 80% of my college costs. i'd say that i get my money's worth.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences csn is a great place to either get started or continue your education. the environment is user friendly. the class rooms are more realistic settings less far far away typical college setting. it has a more personal feeling witch helps the learning process for most students.
Tips for prospective students know your schedule first and foremost. try to venture throughout the campus before you start school so you don't get lost. try your best, show up, and the work, school isn't as hard as most will lead you believe.
Academic Rigor the work load is less then most will lead you to believe. just stay on top of it. there are no excuses in college, it's your responsibility to do your work.
Dorm Life i don't live in a dorm therefore i cannot speak from experience.
Food and Dining the campuses all offer a caffe' for dining.
What to do for fun this is las vegas. if you sincerely cant find something to do you're not from here. anything and everything is here, gambling, shows, movies, bowling. there are adventures around every corner just look and you'll find it.
Bang for the buck some look on community colleges as if they are lower levels of schooling. it is plain and simple a more realistic option for the average student. from tuition to books there's no better deal for schooling.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus csn offers all the basics. with twelve or more students in a group you can become a official staple of the college. leaving a memory that will endure throughout the test of time.
Great for these types of students it's accessible for every student. especially one that struggles financially.
Campus Safety there is a constant amount of security that ensures our safety.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences it is simply a quick way for those who want to transfer to a university or for those who are still trying to find themselves. the social life is very quiet and serene and even though no one judges or says anything bad about you, the fact that there is really no one to talk to can be a little depressing. i even consider the professors at this college to be a lot more interactive with the students than the students are with one another.
Tips for prospective students if you are simply having financial issues or wish to find what major you are looking for, then by all means attend here. like all community colleges, it is probably the easiest start to get where you want.
Academic Rigor most of the professors i have had explain very clearly in a way that is easy to understand.
Dorm Life there are no dorms.
Food and Dining the food is a little expensive, but they have great quality in their culinary portions.
What to do for fun college of southern nevada occasionally has unannounced events that spread throughout the school. there are film crews to put you on television, free food, and sponsors for new clubs.
Campus Safety this campus has been safe so far. police officers are quiet and kept to themselves, but they do look out for any suspicions.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Your basic college, very affordable with great professors. Good for getting started, and I recommend using this as a starter college if you plan to transfer. Be patient with the registrar!
Tips for prospective students This is a good school to get started out with. As a performing arts major, the professors are great! The registrar gets really hectic sometimes, but try to be patient. They do the best the can and try to guide you in the right direction. Just be careful with what side of town you're on. If you are any type of arts major, all of the classes are at the Charleston and Cheyenne campuses. If you live in Henderson, the campus there is a lot smaller, but most of the core courses are offered here as well.
Dorm Life I don't think there are any dorms for CSN, but I do know they have apartments across from the Cheyenne campus.
Food and Dining For being school food it's pretty good! I am a very busy student, and it's nice to be able to grab coffee and a bagel for breakfast before my classes start.
What to do for fun Make friends, go to lunch, study together! I'm not very familiar with the Vegas area by the Cheyenne campus, but I'm sure there's plenty to do. There are always plays, dance concerts, orchestra concerts, and other events happening here.
Bang for the buck Much, much more affordable than UNLV. The professors are much more caring and better to work with here as well.
Great for these types of students Anyone who is looking to go back to school, or is just starting with college. Great for transfer students as well.
Clubs and Activities The theatre professors are amazing here.
Campus Safety You always see a security guard somewhere. I feel very safe at this school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am taking a Communications 101, Psychology 101, and Math 95 class and I'm learning a lot. My Com class is super easy, just speeches but it has a lot of helpful information. I got the short end of the stick when it comes to Psych professors; mine just rambles in lectures, you have to really listen to her and her tests are hard. My math class is amazing; I learned more from this teacher than I ever did in high school classes.
Am enjoying being here The students have the mentality of get in, get out. They're not there to make friends. There are friendly people and you will have friends, but that's not the basis of why you're going to school.
Bang for the buck I am in the high school program so everything is free for me.
Tips for prospective students Get Finley for Math if you can, he's great.
Great for these types of students People who's primary focus is getting an education. If you're looking for Greek life, social life, atmosphere, dorms, and closeness, don't come here.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The teachers are available for Q&A after and before class most of the time, so, when I'm having a challenge with a question, I usually get an answer right away
Am enjoying being here The classes are mostly laid back and the teachers are not high strung like some other places.
Bang for the buck CSN is constantly raising tuition, they would do better to take some of their own classes on financial management.
Tips for prospective students PAY ATTENTION TO THE PRIORITY REGISTRATION DEADLINES!!!! IF YOU MISS YOUR REGISTRATION BASED ON YOUR LAST NAME CHANCES ARE YOU WONT GET INTO YOUR LOWER LEVEL CLASSES!!!
Great for these types of students Students that can become full time students and don't have too much responsibility, such as: children, spouses, and an inflexible employer.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors here are generally very helpful and can easily get in touch with. The online professors try to get back to their students as quickly as possible but they also have offices on campus if you need immediate help. I feel from the few semesters I have been here that I have gotten the most out of my courses.
Am enjoying being here The enviornment here is very laid back and everyone does their own thing. We have a lot of back to school events to get the students involved and intramural sports to feel part of the school. There are a lot of clubs and activities to keep the students involved and focused.
Bang for the buck The classes are cheaper here than four year colleges and you have the ability to make the most of your education experience. There are many kinds of classes available for any of your interests. I don't feel like I'm going broke trying to get an education.
Tips for prospective students College is not like high school at all. If you want to prepare for college, take high school college prep courses or AP classes to get the feeling of working on your own. Your teachers are just guides to help you but you have the responsibility to do everything on your own.
Great for these types of students This college is great for students that just want to get an associates or are thinking about attending a large four year college. Students can get their basics done here for a lower cost and transfer directly into their major at a four year university.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I began attending CSN in Fall 2008 and so far it has been a great school to attend too. Especially a far as community colleges go. I have learned so much with just the few classes I have taken to this point and I'm truly excited to continue on. Teaching methods to differ between teachers, so if you can, talk to the professor and fellow students about the class.
Am enjoying being here At this point in time, I am taking all online classes through the College of Southern Nevada. I love it! Their online classes are simple to take, easy to navigate, organized, and give me the flexibility of time to do my schoolwork. I did attend the campus for my first couple semesters and I enjoyed the campus as well. The college actually has 3 campus throughout the Vegas area, and that makes it kind of convenient for people who don't want to travel across town for classes all the time.
Bang for the buck In my opinion, this college definitely has bang for the buck. There are so many resources and programs available at a very reasonable tuition price. With the affordability of the school, I'm able to focus more on coursework than wondering how I'll pay of tuition fees.
Tips for prospective students If you have any question, don't be afraid to ask. In my experience there, they have been very helpful as far as questions and concerns go. Make sure you figure out what classes you wish to take and apply as early as you can. Also, you can get information about the class and the textbooks you need by asking the professor in person or through email. One thing that could be a downside, is I didn't find information about student housing when I was reviewing the college, but I'm sure if you talk to a counselor or academic advisor on campus they will be happy to help with any questions or concerns.
Great for these types of students I think this college would be great for any type of student. Like I mentioned before, they have a great variety of programs and an affordable tuition. Overall I think it's an great college as far as two-year colleges go.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot College of Southern Nevada will teach you a lot of new things. If your trying to be in engineering or being a doctor. Everyday here you will learn something new at CSN.
Am enjoying being here Being a student at CSN is awesome. There are friendly professors, other students, and staff. There's on campus food, stores( in case you need supplies), and study areas.
Bang for the buck Yes you do get your money's worth here. The professors will make sure you understand the material. They will go over any subject that you may not understand, or have and after class study , for students that need extra help. Or if you miss a test you can always make it up. Here they will make sure you get every cent worth.
Tips for prospective students The only tips are just be your self and have fun learning.
Great for these types of students This school is great for everyone.
