    Am learning a lot

The teaching staff at Columbus State University is excellent. All of the professors are very knowledgeable, helpful, and do their best to create an experience conductive to learning. All the Professors welcome questions (even in larger classes,) offer extra-credit opportunities, and correspond with students regularly via e-mail. In each class I took, every one of my professor treated each student with respect and earnestly answered each question they were asked.

    Am enjoying being here

Columbus State has many enjoyable perks. Campus is not very big, so new students should be able to get acquainted to the school fairly quickly. The Cafeteria offers a healthy and diverse selection of foods (and excellent fried rice,) and there are many recreational opportunities for students, such as intramural sports. Additionally, CSU offers a computer lab open 24/7 on Campus, which is quite convenient for students without a printer or laptop. The major downside to CSU is the school's appearance. Some of the buildings appear outdated and are sometimes musky. Another trifle involving the school is the constant construction work on campus, which makes it somewhat difficult to pay attention in class. But, aside from the minor quibbles, studying at CSU is an overally enjoyable experience.

    Bang for the buck

CSU has some of the lowest tuition in the state, which is good for many students who cannot afford tuition at a larger school. However, the low tuition is traded for some programs and luxuries. For instance, there is no Economics, Physics, Philosophy, or Journalism major. There is also the problem of under-staffing. Many of CSU's administrative departments are understaffed, making offices such as Student Enrollment Services and Financial Aid somewhat inefficient. Additionally, some Academic functions of the school, such as the Math and Science lab, are understaffed. However, when a student is able to gain the attention of a Math or Science tutor, they almost always convey information clearly and concisely. However, CSU is currently expanding and more classes will be available in the near future.

    Tips for prospective students

Try to avoid driving as most of the school is contained within walking distance and parking has become a bit of a problem. Utilize all of the school's resources, as many of the tutoring labs are free of charge and can be very helpful in difficult courses. When a Professor mentions extra-credit, take note: extra credit can result in earning a letter grade in some classes. If you do not understand a concept, e-mail your professor, they usually respond to e-mails and are more than happy to help you or find the means to help you succeed in college.

Great for these types of students

CSU is great for commuter students, non-Traditional students, first-year students, and Theater students. The college is small, so organizing student activities and study groups can be a bit of a hassle, but with the right group of students, there is more than enough room to accommodate all activities on campus. The Theater program is excellent and well-budgeted. I would recommend this school primarily as a litmus test to new college students to get acquainted with the college before moving on to a bigger school.

    Am learning a lot

Columbus State University offers a wide range of classes and plenty of opportunities. I am a freshman at CSU and after my first semester of enrollment I have to say that I am learning a sufficient amount of information in a timely manner. The professors that I had last semester seemed very knowledgeable and did not show up to waste people's time. For the most part I believe that it is the student's responsibility to study and really learn the material within a class. However, I also believe that without a good instructor or professor to guide students along the journey of the course, the student's learning experience is much less enjoyable. The professors I have had at CSU make the courses easy and fun while teaching at the same level of many old-fashioned professors. All of my professors I have had thus far have had loads of personality and intelligence. They have all seemed to have a constant thirst to teach students what they're there to learn. The classes I have taken have not been overly difficult yet I have still managed to learn plenty of information.

    Am enjoying being here

I am enjoying Columbus State University thus far in my enrollment. Columbus State University is becoming more and more competitive with the other colleges in Georgia through the erection of new student centers and a recreation center. I believe that it is becoming less contrary with the most widely known college in Georgia called the University of Georgia. While CSU may not offer as many courses or opportunities as UGA it is still becoming a more developed college making it more appealing to the people. None of my classes have been scrutinizing or punishing in the least bit. I have felt relaxed and ready to learn in every class I have taken thus far in my experience at CSU. If you do your work and study than there is no reason you will not pass any of the courses at CSU. There are plenty of organizations and other clubs at CSU that call to the interest of just about everyone. Overall, if you want to go to an average college that offers plenty of open doors for a considerably low tuition fee than you must enroll at CSU. It's a college that will make you feel at home while at the same time make you feel like it is where you belong.

    Bang for the buck

Columbus State University is definitely a bang for the buck college. Everything about CSU is great. The one and only complaint I have is that the cafe is not the greatest restaurant to eat at when you get hungry. However, there is a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen right across from the cafe which is so delicious. There is also a restaurant called Einstein Bros. which offers foods like sandwiches and bagels as well as drinks such as chilled cappuccinos. CSU is by far the best university to enroll in if you want to gain intellect, intelligence, and all other key factors that will prepare you for your occupation. All of this is offered without stealing your hard earned cash from your wallet...or purse.

    Tips for prospective students

Get a campus map the day you enroll and get familiar with it.
    Be on time for class.
Have the will to learn and you will succeed at this college, that is a guarantee. It's not a college that kicks you in the rear everyday. It's more of a college that just wants you to learn fast and easy. It's not Harvard and it's not hard. The professors want you to learn but they don't try to kill you in the process.

this university has very strong programs for specific majors such as theatre, art, music, nursing, communications, business, etc. there are two different campuses, twenty minutes apart via shuttle, and each offer completely different college experiences. the student community is very close and strong among campuses, majors, or even clubs.

    Tips for prospective students

make sure to visit both campuses before applying for the school. looking at just one will not give you a complete picture of the university. do sufficient research of what columbus offers. sometimes major programs can be custom-made; also, opportunities like studying abroad or greek life may be overlooked on a simple tour.

    Academic Rigor

academic rigor varies depending on what you're studying, of course. some classes are extremely easy due to either the professor or course itself. however, the rigor of classes increases as you focus more on your major.

    Dorm Life

because of the two campuses, riverpark and main, two completely different dorm lives are available. on main campus, you will find dorms similar to apartment complexes with a pool and even a volleyball court. downtown at riverpark, the dorms are suite-style. here each room looks different, in both shape and size. also, this downtown community is smaller and like a family.

    Food and Dining

the food options vary by campus. on main campus, there is the cafeteria where the food changes daily and is all you can eat. also, there is a chick-fil-a and burger studio which accept cougar cash, an extra part of your meal plan. on the riverpark campus, there is the den which offers an unchanging menu of food, but also has a convenience store selling snacks, frozen foods, drinks, etc. the den also accepts cougar cash. both campuses are within walking distance of many restaurants.

    What to do for fun

columbus offers entertainment of all kinds. a short drive away there is the cinema, restaurants, and shopping center on whittlesey dr. near the main campus is the columbus mall. riverpark campus lies in the very center of downtown columbus, which offers many shops, restaurants, events, and the quite occasional parade. on campus, there are usually events held by assorted clubs/groups and greek organizations and performances by the arts majors. also the amazing new recreation center has much to offer, including an aquatic center, sauna, and rock wall.

    Bang for the buck

columbus state is very affordable in comparison to many large universities, but as scholarships become harder to obtain and with the state of the economy, student loans are necessary. thankfully, with some perseverance, you can receive generous loans and grants from financial aid.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

for entering freshman, the university throws a week's worth of celebratory events which are fun for students of any year. the main campus is overrun with entertainment and events by the greek life and student clubs, usually occurring daily. the recreation center is definitely an amazing location with so much to offer. on the riverpark campus, there are many odd hangouts and locations. the tables outside of the den and fountain city coffee shop are always filled with students and locals hanging out over food and drinks. one hang out tradition is the third floor of the parking deck. almost regardless of time, there will be a different group of students talking and listening to music, welcoming any passers-by with open arms.

Great for these types of students

the main campus is great for the athletic, outgoing, or people looking for the authentic college experience. however, this campus also has a wide variety of campus nerds, self-titled, interested in any form of gaming, graphics, or science fiction. the greek life is very predominant also. on riverpark, you will tend to find the artsy, outgoing people interested in art, theatre, or music. this campus is for people looking for a family-like community, people interested in the arts, or people who love the downtown, city feel.

    Clubs and Activities

there are clubs of a wide variety available at csu, from religious groups to the campus nerds to intramural sports. you can join any of the 110 active organizations! there are always events and activities being held for the groups or by the groups. even outside of clubs, the university often holds activities to entertain and involve the students.

    Greek Life

many greek organizations are available to the students of csu. each organizations harbors people of similar interests, yet they all interact respectfully towards the other groups. each fraternity or sorority hosts events, such as sports games or bake sales, to bring community between the greeks and the school. though there are strong bonds between the greek groups and their members, the students are not kept from having friends among or outside of the greek organizations.

    Campus Safety

the campus police are highly responsive to any needs. whether you don't want to walk alone or are having car troubles, they are willing to help. there are safety alerts sent through email and text to the students. also, scan card access is necessary to enter most buildings and any level of the dorms. emergency call boxes are located around the campus.

The housing is satisfactory in private/private.
The teachers strive to improve their students chances to get jobs in the Computer Science field.
The overall atmosphere of the area is very positive and their is always something to do.

    Tips for prospective students

Remember to study hard your freshman year so that you make all A's.
Take summer classes as soon as possible.
Find internships that specialize in your field.

    What to do for fun

I am a part of the Campus Nerds. We have events that specialize in gaming, anime and TCG. We also host the largest free convention in the state of Georgia.

    Bang for the buck

The separate campus area, Riverpark, offers more stuff to do and is very scenic.

Great for these types of students

    Am learning a lot

I am learning a lot of things at this school. There programs you can't even imagine. It has really good programs.

    Am enjoying being here

I'm enjoying a lot things about this school. The professors are nice and pretty good instructors. The students are nice and helpful. And the student success center is very helpful if you have any problems at all.

    Bang for the buck

It is cheaper for students who are living in the same state as the college. But of course, college is never cheap. You have to pay for a lot things. But you won't have to worry as you applied for financial aid and things.

    Tips for prospective students

When getting into this college, there's things you should know:
    1. The professors are really strict about the work and the grades. So when you have work that's due: projects, papers or what not; you have to use your time wisely and try to balance out your schedules very carefully and study a lot.
    2. The work load is pretty big in college, so be prepared to due the work and on time.
    3. Don't get mixed up into stuff that will take you off track. Having social life is nice and all, but remember this is college. There are things to do that are more important.
    4. Make to have a major that's right for you and stick with it. Some people come and expect there majors to be easy and fun. Not really. There is a lot more to know than just learning how to read and count. You have to learn everything in order to get where you need to be.
    5. Always check with your advisors about your classes that is required for your major and other things. Because at times like these, you may register for a classes that are not even required and might mess with your chances. So always look and check out the classes before you register.
    6. Always be on time to your classes, because if not, not only you will be counted tardy, you will be counted absent too. (unless you have an acceptable excuse)
Always be prepared for certain situations and always be ready for the pressure that will hit you. Regardless of those things, there's always a way. You have to see things through.

Great for these types of students

It's great for education majors, history majors, math majors, any kind of majors (well not ANY, ANY kind). It's also great for students who want to have fun and learn.

Columbus State University is not what I expected it to be from my summer 2010 orientation. It is a little better than I expected and a little worse. However, I cannot imagine being anywhere else, I thought about transferring for my sophomore year, for a different experience, but I just didn't want to have to start over, when I like how things are at the school I am at.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are looking for a city life for school then Columbus State should not be your choice. It is nothing like Atlanta.

    Academic Rigor

Leave procrastination behind in high school because it is important to keep your GPA up and do not try to have fun all the time sometimes you just have to be serious.

    Dorm Life

The dorms are apartment styled and there are three different main campus courtyards to choose from. There is also a downtown housing area for mostly art majors but anyone can live there if you choose to. The downtown area looks a little different compared to the main campus area even though it is only fifteen minutes away. It is nicer if you like the downtown feel but not Atlanta styled downtown and it is not Apartment styled like main campus. Most people have to share a room downtown but you can have your own room on main campus .

    Food and Dining

The Cafeteria has its good days and bad days , For some people it takes some getting used to but it has a nice variety everyday. There are other options like Chick-fil-A, Burger Studio, and Einstein's Bros Bagels. The Downtown area also has its own eatery with some options different than main campus because main campus is buffet styled.

    What to do for fun

If you have a car most of the time the possibilities are endless for you here. Every weekend there is usually some sort of an event that some organization at the school is hosting. There is a mall across the street from the school, plus there are many restaurants all over. There is lots of sports at our school like Basketball, Baseball, and tennis so there is always games to go to.

    Bang for the buck

Columbus State has one of the cheapest tuition in Georgia for a University.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Every year there is some sort of tailgating event for football for the surrounding areas. This school year the Classics were held down here.

Great for these types of students

There is a shuttle bus that takes students to Main Campus and the Downtown Campus if they do not have a car or would just like to save a little gas money. There is also an exceptional gym that was opened in the Spring 2011 semester so it is fairly new

    Clubs and Activities

There are so many Clubs and Organizations to choose from here that including your classes you could never go bored during a regular school day.

    Greek Life

There are lots of different Greek organizations at our school, many for someone to choose from and pick the one they want to be apart of. By just walking around the school you could tell that Greek life is important at our school because we have a building dedicated to it and they are many trophy cases showing their awards.

    Campus Safety

University Police Headquarters is located on campus and they patrol the housing areas everyday and night. Recently they put up gates for the different main campus courtyards in order to secure the safety of the residents. Students need their IDs to get into their courtyards after a certain hour at night.

The Riverpark campus is very pleasant and enjoyable. Instructors and staff are very helpful. Interesting arts programs as well as sporting events.

    Tips for prospective students

Learn the shuttle schedule and the open hours of the eateries. Choose to stay on campus at Riverpark. Register early and keep up with the deadlines for registration and other requirements like dorm room selection.

    Academic Rigor

The classes are very detailed and provide the information necessary to be prepared for the next class and your future.

    Dorm Life

Dorm life is an experience. Sharing a room is a very different experience and can take some getting use to. The Riverpark dorms are very nice and I highly recommend the area.

    Food and Dining

The campus offers a build your own burger place, Chick-fil-A, Einstein Bagels and the campus cafeteria is not that bad either. Server your own Blue Bell ice cream is a great addition.

    What to do for fun

There is an on campus gym with everything from exercise equipment to a pool, climbing wall and indoor basketball area. At Riverpark there is access to the Chattochee River where they will be opening a whitewater area. There is also a long bike and walking trail.

Campus safety is great. There is always campus police available and they will escort you if necessary. They are quick to respond.

The school is very diverse, there are many people here that one just wouldn't expect. The school is not a big but it feels comfortable enough that you feel as though your not just another number. The environment is one that can be enjoyed if your not one for getting home sick.

    Tips for prospective students

Staying on top of your studies should always be first priority.

    Academic Rigor

The courses are quite challenging. The teachers are kind enough to guide you in the direction but this is not cake walk. Its not as easy as high school. The science department and the computer science departments I must say are very rigorous.

    Dorm Life

Sometimes the school becomes swamped with so many incoming students, they are moved to other living areas almost hotel like. This is more of a older traditional dorm accommodations that are upgrading every year.

    Food and Dining

The food is great and it stays on the health side. it might not be so much fast food but there's a variety here and there.

    What to do for fun

For fun I hang out with my friends. Its quite easy to form bonds here with the people inside and outside of the school.

    Bang for the buck

Personally to me its worth it. I don't want to go to a school that everyone is a number. Here at Columbus State University, if you interact with the teacher they interact right back.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Sometimes people are in the trees just relaxing. My group of friends are usual doing something spontaneous like climb up into trees and just relax and talk.

Great for these types of students

    Greek Life

The Greek Life here is diverse enough to call it college there might not be Fraternity houses or Sorority house, but they Greeks still know how to show up on campus and be apart of the school.

    Campus Safety

The school is safe for the most part or from what I know. Of course, there are altercations here and there this is college as well as life nothing is perfect nor is it preventable somethings happen. Its apart of growing up how you deal with the things that happen in college. Especially when it come to your own safety.

Columbus State is a rather small school. Generally, classes do not fill up (unless the teacher is one that everyone wants) quickly, and the teacher to student ratio is reasonable. The only way to have fun is to find an extracurricular club and GET INVOLVED!

    Tips for prospective students

I would reccomend Columbus State only to students who want to save money and complete core classes then plan to transfer. I would advise that you ASK QUESTIONS about any and everything you are unsure of. The financial aid's office and registrar's office is a bit unorganized so it is very important that YOU ask the questions and do not stop until you get the answers.

    Academic Rigor

Teachers and teaching styles vary. I have had teachers who are very easy and seem to let anyone pass the class, but I have also had teachers that are reasonably challenging. My advice would be STUDY and prioritize your time; know when it is okay to have fun and when it is time to study.

    Dorm Life

I have never lived in the dorms.

    Food and Dining

There are a few restaurants on campus and convenient stores. All of which in my opinion are over priced, especially for college students.

    What to do for fun

The gym is amazing!! It is actually my favorite place to be on campus. Columbus State's gym is a three story state of the art gym, and there is always a workout class in session! There are also tons of intramural sports!

    Bang for the buck

Tuition at Columbus State is considered rather cheap compared to most schools therefor in my opinion it is a descent school. Classes are clean and the maintenance is well kept, and it rare that you will find broken resources.

Great for these types of students

I would recommend Columbus State only to students who want to attend a small university. The chances of getting involved with an extra curricular activity is very high because it is a small school and extra curricular programs are always looking for students. I would recommend any student that is willing to jump in and involve themselves with activities on campus.

    Clubs and Activities

There are many different clubs and organizations and if there is not one for you, you can make your own! My advice for any student interested in a specific club is to call or contact the sponsor of that club directly (do not go to the student center for advice). The office who deals with student activities generally gives the run arrounds because they themselves aren't sure of all the clubs. Therefore I would get the head sponsor's contact information and contact them yourself.

    Greek Life

There are sororities and fraternities, and the chances of becoming a sister or brother is high. There are no Greek houses but there is a Greek center where many activities are held for Greek life.

    Campus Safety

Columbus State is located in a safe area in Columbus and there are many campus police everywhere on campus. Safety is not a problem at all!

    Am learning a lot

A few years ago, CSU was a sub-standard university. Now that Dr. Mescon is in charge, it is quickly changing for the better. I feel like I'm going more in-depth about the things I learned in high school, not just re-learning them. It has been a great experience so far.

    Am enjoying being here

I haven't gotten as involved as I would like yet because of my schedule, but I love that there are a ton of different groups and organizations to get involved with. There's always something going on at the clock tower or the downtown campus and if it isn't free, it's very cheap.

I definitely feel like I'm getting my money's worth. The facilities are in good shape, the professors are attentive when you need help, and there's always something to do. If you don't have a car, you can easily get to the downtown campus and back on one of the shuttle buses. Dr. Mescon is extremely involved with the students and faculty; I can actually point him out to you (and I'm sure most of my friends at other universities can't say the same thing about their president). I would like to see more options for food, but I can always run over to the mall (which is two blocks over) to grab a bite.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved! I kept hearing this from older friends, my parents, my older sister, and at orientation - it's true. Even if you are from Columbus, you need to meet new people. The only way to feel at home and comfortable is to have a group of people that you can hang out with. There are so many clubs and organizations that I'm sure everyone can find something.

Also, if you're having trouble with a hard class or learning how to study, go to the Academic Center for Excellence (in Schuster) and ask for a tutor. Even if you only meet a couple of times, it can really help. I've heard the Writing and Math labs are really helpful, too.

Great for these types of students

When I was looking at colleges, I wanted one that had less than 10,000 students. I didn't want to go to a university like UGA or Georgia State; I wasn't ready for a big city or gigantic school. If you really just want to go to a school in a moderate-sized city and feel like you're a part of a community, I think CSU is for you. There's always something going on in Columbus or on campus. And if you do want to go to Atlanta for the weekend or something, it's not that far away.

    Am learning a lot

Being at CSU I learned how to ask for help when I need it and also to be very independent. Learn to become involved in the community and to be very effective in society.

    Am enjoying being here

CSU's faculty and staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. There is always some activity on campus going on so there is really never a dull moment. And like anything else college is what you make it.

    Bang for the buck

CSU is not very expense; even the vendors that come on campus make things cheap because they know that we are college students on a college budget.

    Tips for prospective students

Before you choose any college make sure you do all your research. CSU is a great places to be; the campus is safe and the people are nice.

Great for these types of students

Great for students in theater majors and nursing majors.

    Will learn a lot

I have heard so much about all the wonderful teachers and staff members at this school and every time I am there, I feel at home.

    Will enjoy being here

The campus is amazing, everything is within walking distance, aside from the Music campus which is on Broadway, but it is still amazing and all the leaders, and just everyone there is a joy to be around with plenty of school spirit.

    Bang for the buck

I do not live in Georgia, but in Phenix City, Alabama where CSU gives you a waiver so I don't have to pay out of state tuition and really helped out and saved a lot.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't procrastinate and don't be afraid to ask questions. Take the tour they offer, it will really help you get a feel for campus life and all the great activities they have to offer.

Great for these types of students

I recommend pre-med students go to CSU first and go through all the Biology classes first. You will have a better chance at getting into a really good medical school and learn a lot. Also, the music program is amazing. You can have fun and get your studies done without stressing.

I have found that a majority of the Faculty and Staff members at CSU love their job. They want to teach and they want you to learn. Since the class sizes are relatively small it isn't difficult to interact with other students in study groups or group projects. Also, it makes it easier to build a good academic relationship with the teachers. They are willing to help and offer some great advice on how to better your education.

    Am enjoying being here

I really didn't think I was going to like CSU very much, and actually planned on transferring out after a year or so but I turned out to love it! I am involved in a lot of stuff on campus, and since it is a smaller campus it makes it easier to get involved. I'm in the Servant Leadership program at CSU and love how involved in the community it is. Also, I'm in a sorority and that has made it really enjoyable! But no matter what you enjoy, I'm sure you could find it at CSU.

    Bang for the buck

Tuition is always a problem when it comes to college; however, I do think you get your money's worth at CSU. The cost of tuition here is much lower than many other schools in Georgia.

    Tips for prospective students

GET INVOLVED! Don't stay in your dorms all day. Go out and explore campus, I guarantee you that you will find something you are interested in. Also, if you're a commuter student you need to get involved too! Don't just come to school and leave. CSU has a lot more to offer than people think. Honestly, your college experience is going to be what you make it, so make it great! I know I am.

Great for these types of students

ANY TYPES. I know that a lot of people think it is only good for commuter students, but I actually enjoyed living on campus. There are a lot of people living on campus now, and also a lot of people commuting. Either way I'm sure you can find a way for it to work for you!

the theatre program appears to be fairly well done,. though it has a focus on the classics from what i have seen.

    Will enjoy being here

i haven't seen much of the living quarters or any other student buildings,

    Bang for the buck

one of the lowest tuitions that i have found while researching, and a great school for those performing arts kids, from what my friends have told me.

    Tips for prospective students

make sure that you look everywhere before making your decision. though transferring is most definitely an option, you have to go through all of the same things that you went through to apply the first time.

Great for these types of students

I went to thescon this year, and took a tour with my parents a short while afterwards: the campus seems to be built with performing arts students in mind.

    Will learn a lot

I've heard nothing but fantastic things about the Theatre program and am more than excited to be put through the paces at CSU.

    Will enjoy being here

Downtown is busy at night and comfortable during the day, the mall is close access to main campus, and there seems like a lot to do.

    Bang for the buck

Meal plan was a little pricey, but overall 8000 dollars a year is a lot more affordable then most colleges these days.

    Tips for prospective students

I'm already comfortable in my decision to go to CSU since I visited the campus so often. I've made friends already and have a good feel on where everything is, which is crucial since the two campuses are a bit confusing.

CSU is currently offering everything I need to Pursue in my selected career and I cannot wait to start my classes this fall.

    Will enjoy being here

I am sure that I will enjoy every minute at CSU. I know a few students from there and they say nothing but good things about it. I am truly excited!

    Bang for the buck

CSU is close to home and pretty convenient to get to. I will save so much money being able to live at home and still attend the college.

    Am learning a lot

I have attended one other college besides Columbus State University. By far, Columbus is the best. Classes are not too big and the professors offer a lot of help. Classes keep me entertained and active in the learning process. Even classes such as history that you take all your life can be made interesting.

    Am enjoying being here

I love being at Columbus State I am active on campus and have made a lot of friends. I joined a sorority and intramural sports. There is always something going on throughout campus.

    Bang for the buck

I believe Columbus is about average in the cost. The only thing I did not like was how much I paid for my meal plan because I felt I did not use it enough to be required to pay that much.

    Tips for prospective students

Students should try to get involved in campus as much as possible even if it is only to meet new people or get out of the house. I met some life long friends that I met at a random event on campus.

Great for these types of students

Columbus is great for any type of student.

The Music program at CSU is excellent. The size of students in every class is very small and the professors are very good in their own field.

    Am enjoying being here

I live at Riverpark, the downtown campus. The campus is situated near coffee houses and restaurants. Live music is only minutes away.
The students are very enthusiastic and want to succeed in their own major.

    Bang for the buck

CSU is very affordable compared the academics you are getting. Especially if you are going for the music program, nursing or Education program.

    Tips for prospective students

Don't drive to school if you live on Camus, the shuttles are very good. Own a laptop. If you intend to live on campus, stay downtown. The atmosphere is very good. Don't buy a too big meal plan, the food is not extraordinary.

Great for these types of students

Check ratemyprofessors.com! It's a life saver when it comes to picking your teachers. I did not use it for my 1st semester and I got a teacher I did not really like, but now for the 2nd semester, I went online to Rate My Professors and I know I'm going to love my teachers!

Great for these types of students
