    Am learning a lot

CU is a place which challenges a student academically, but still allows you to have a lot of fun! When I first started college, I was extremely nervous, but Creighton really made me feel at home. It gives off an air of community, and everyone here really tries to make the first year as easy as possible. Also the professors really care about how you are doing in school, and there is tons of help available if you feel like you are stuggling. Creighton is a place which strives for achievement, so come prepared to work, but in the end you get a great education and are fully prepared when leaving college.

    Bang for the buck

Although the undergraduate tuition is daunting, you really do get a lot for your money. Creighton is constantly expanding and updating the campus. There is free WiFi pretty much anywhere and the addition of the new sports center being built is fantastic. The dorms are also nice in comparison to some other campuses I've visited around the nation. The tuition also goes towards all of the activities CU puts on, and trust me there are a lot! There always seems like there's something to do or see and CU really values it's students opinions, so the activites are always something new and different. If you are still worried about tuition, apply for some scholarships. CU offers a multitude for all different types of students, and they are all easily accessible at the CU website.

    Tips for prospective students

First of all, I would strongly suggest touring the campus. It really gives you a feel for what goes on there and the types of people you'll be interacting with. Also turn in all of your paperwork ahead of time. The admissions crew will be thankful, and you'll feel less stressed out.

When on campus, get involved in as much as possible! I met so many people that way and even if you are shy, there are plenty of opportunities for everyone. Also keep up on getting help. If you feel like you are having problems with a class, don't just give up. Professors and on-campus tutors are always available. Lastly, get to know the people on your floor. It will make the transition to college easier and you'll make friends a lot quicker.

Great for these types of students

I would say CU is a great place for students who are driven to succeed, enjoy learning, and like getting to know others. Also for students who enjoy a smaller campus and class sizes, but don't mind the big city. CU has a reputation for it's great pre-health professions, so if you have an interest in that I would strongly recommend!

    Tips for prospective students

If you are looking for a great-quality school in a homely city, then consider applying at Creighton University. Established as a Jesuit center of learning in 1878 in Omaha, Nebraska, the institution has done so much for its students. Not only does Creighton offer a great variety of liberal arts as well as pre-professional and professional classes, which are taught by the professors and not the teaching assistants, but it works very hard to provide an education that is as affordable as is possible. For example, because of this year's recession, the tuition is increasing by the smallest factor ever (almost all colleges raise the tuition yearly), and this fall has enrolled the most freshman that has ever been there. So, for those of you who find Creighton University appealing, get all the information you can about the school. Then, come visit the campus to step into the shoes of its students as they enjoy their college life mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Great for these types of students

Every student will find something appealing at Creighton University and in Omaha, Nebraska.

There is definitely loads to learn while attending CU. Many of the professors keep class moving relatively fast so its very important to stay organized and not to trail behind! The professors are very nice and helpful, feel comfortable asking as many questions as needed!

    Am enjoying being here

CU is definitely a fun place to be! Everyone around is enjoyable and welcoming! Even older students are willing to help the new recruits! Fun, safe, and clean campus!

    Bang for the buck

Its definitely a costly college, but CU does its best to help out families. They have many options as well as scholarships. To keep it short, if you want to attend, and cost is the obstacle, they'll definitely find a way to help you out!

    Tips for prospective students

Going to class is very important, also stay organized and don't fall behind! But feel free to ask as many questions as you need!!

Great for these types of students

I would say that CU is a great place for any type of student! There are so many activities, majors, groups, etc. that anyone could find a place here in the CU family!

    Will learn a lot

I feel that with the information I've gathered and with friend, student and faculty opinions on Creighton, it is a university that one will learn much from.

    Will enjoy being here

The people I've met from the Creighton community have really shown that they care and that even though Nebraska may seem like its in the middle of nowhere, Omaha is a great city filled with things to do for every kind of person.

    Bang for the buck

Although tuition is a little high, I feel that it will definitely be worth it. They are constantly adjusting to the students' need and comfort, while making the learning environment exciting.

    Tips for prospective students

Get in touch with your representative. Send him/her an email to just let him/her you're interested for more information. They'll be happy to help you out in any way possible!

Great for these types of students

Out of state students looking for a worthwhile college experience, while also feeling at home away from home.
Students looking for a medium sized, close-knit community.

    Am learning a lot

I have never worked so hard in my life. The process has so much stress, but it is the progress the feels the best.

    Am enjoying being here

Ethnic and personality diversity is a huge issue on campus. The campus can become very cookie-cutter and can seem very homogeneous, but the curriculum works to open one's mind. This eventually creates a situation where the individual is strong enough to break away from the mainstream culture.
In addition, the gender inequality between males and females impacts interaction dramatically. CU has more girls than boys, so the ladies can be a bit territorial.

    Bang for the buck

Being at a Jesuit Institution gives me the skills to awaken the other sides of “self.” This awakening gives me the ability to critique the society which surrounds me. The emphasis on my degree is no longer on material gain for myself. I realize that that rationale stems from an assumption that money can buy all the satisfaction I require. My education has taught me just the opposite. It has stimulated an other-oriented me. When I help others, I experience liberation from the customary preoccupation with “self.” It also allows me to expand my focus beyond viewing my success as a victory for my tribe, my family, my community or my ancestors, but as an triumph to all of those who are underrepresented, misrepresented and in search for truth. Consequently, I have grown to appreciate other faiths, while being more affirmed in my own.
A Jesuit education, in its purest form, is an active force that participates in the world, but does not assimilate to it. The schools that bear the name work extraneously to hasten the coming of Christ. While awaiting His return, these institutions attempt to ease the discomfort of those who suffer here on Earth. In doing so the language of justice has rested on the tongue of the student. This is most profoundly true for me. Not having a private or religious affiliated academic background prior to attending Creighton, I have grown to appreciate being able to see God in my studies. Finally, having a Jesuit education has prompted a sense of responsibility and social awareness in me. I have been able to recognize the things most important in life are those Ad majorem Dei gloriam, for the greater Glory of God.

    Tips for prospective students

Become who you are faster. My service to others has been the most enriching experience of my personal growth outside the classroom. I think the most instrumental action in this process was applying what I learned in the classroom and bringing it to the Center for Service and Justice Office. I am a Justice and Society major and have considered my vocation to be working for Justice and Peace in whatever way I can be most effective. I believe the Center for Service and Justice could bring their mission to a larger audience by encouraging other students to transcend their current selves and become active in social justice issues.

Great for these types of students

Having such a service oriented background has led me to become aware of a world of multi-cultures. Serving so many different people with different needs and perspectives has given me increased personal insight to each culture. My service experiences have humbled me while stimulating considerable personal growth. I am truly thankful for the place where I am now. Consequently, I have changed my opinion regarding how I view resources and how I resolve what I deem “what I deserve” from the world. Throughout this journey, my center of gravity is most certainly expanded to those outside my innermost circle to include those who I may not know on a personal level. In addition to having an education that serves, my experiences have instilled a sense of urgency to rectify the living conditions of those I serve and those who are often disenfranchised by society. Ultimately, committing my life to service has created a faithful, fervent servant and heightened consciousness of myself and those around me to be virtuous stewards of The Lord’s Creation.

    Am learning a lot

I am learning a lot at Creighton University, and I am having fun while doing it! The professors are wonderful. They know their stuff, and they make class very enjoyable. The classes are challenging, but it is all worth the hard work that I have to put in.

    Am enjoying being here

I made lifelong friends right from the start! They are all so fun and amazing friends. They make being here at CU very enjoyable and fun. There is always something going on in the halls of the dorms. CU also has a lot of activities throughout the week and especially on the weekend. I have found myself homesick some, but getting involved in the MANY activities and events that Creighton offers definitely helps keep my mind off of being homesick and focus on enjoying my time here at college.

    Bang for the buck

I will admit, Creighton is EXPENSIVE! I was almost going to not be able to attend CU because of the price, but I talked with the admissions people and we worked it out so that I could come here! And, boy am I glad that I did get the chance to come here. Yes, Creighton is expensive, but it is soo worth every penny. The teachers, the students, and the lifelong friends that are made because of coming here make it all worth the money that I am paying to attend. I know that if I had attended the cheaper state school that I was going to attend, I would not have received as good of an education that I am receiving here.

    Tips for prospective students

I suggest taking as many college courses in high school that you can! Most high schools will pay for that which will take a great burden off of you and your parent's wallets! Also, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! You will be amazed how much easier a class becomes and how much more you understand the material when you simply do the homework! Also, if you are stuck on a problem or you don't understand a lesson go in and talk with the professor. That is what they are there for, and most are more than willing to take the time it takes for you to be able to understand the material. They want to see you succeed.

Great for these types of students

Creighton University is great for the type of student that likes to do service projects and help people, for the student that wants a challenge, and for the student that wants to have fun while working hard!

    Am learning a lot

Creighton challenges each student academically. It requires each student to study hard and make a great effort. At the same time there are many great resources for students. Each professor is willing to always make an appointment and make sure you understand the fundamentals of the course. Due to the smaller private student population, it feels as if the professors are more approachable.

    Am enjoying being here

There is always something fun to do! Whether its during the day, night, weekends, or holidays! The campus looks beautiful with the lights up during the winter and the Christmas light ceremony is really fun with good food! There are Wednesday After Class events where you make cookies, make crafts, and other fun stuff! Not to mention are awesome concerts we have twice a year! This year we had Jacks Mannequin playing for the Fallzapalooza concert!

creighton is easily the best college in the area, and has a great reputation, especially in the midwest. it has awesome medical and science programs. everyone i know who has gone there has come away from it pleased with their investments, whether that be time, money, effort, or all of three.

    Tips for prospective students

track deadlines frequently. creighton has earlier deadlines than most. their priority deadlines are in the winter. scholarship deadlines follow soon after.

    Bang for the buck

the buck really isn't that much, considering that there are several scholarships available to people of any major, and creighton makes it easy to find the scholarships and their requirements.

creighton is a small and tight-knit school that has high moral standards for all of the students. the professors are more than willing to work extended hours to help everyone, and the class attendance is very high (in my experience). the social life is fun, the food is decent, and the friends last a lifetime!

    Tips for prospective students

make sure that you go to class.. participation (a.k.a. showing up to class) is important here so don't take an early class if you know you don't want to get up.

    Academic Rigor

depending on your major. i hear history is rough as is chemistry, but this is all on an individual basis. this all depends on the teacher as well. don't let creighton's reputation for being too hard fool you, if you are willing to try a little, your grades will be fine.

    Dorm Life

the dorms are small and not particularly nice and updated. the bathrooms are communal. basically they are typical freshmen dorms. however, brand new upperclassmen dorms were just built and are really nice.

    Food and Dining

2.5 stars really. it's half-way--not disgusting but doesn't cause cravings. it is good at first but gets old. if only the dining halls were open longer, but we have late-night meal exchange and the cookies, pizza, etc. is delicious.

    What to do for fun

explore omaha, play laser tag/bowl/ice skate/movies, go out to eat, hang in the dorms, or go to the frats... just your regular college stuff

    Bang for the buck

very good reputation and many scholarships available. many grad schools/employers like to see creighton university on a resume so i hear.

Great for these types of students

work hard, play hard/ anyone :)

    Clubs and Activities

so much to choose from, but not enough just for fun clubs in my opinion... you could always start your own.

    Greek Life

no houses for sororities except one. the frats have a few houses. most people on campus are involved some way, but it is not unusual to have friends outside of your greek life as well.

    Campus Safety

it is in a semi-bad part of town, but you don't feel it on campus. campus security has emergency buttons everywhere on campus to protect you, and i've never felt not secure. (many people don't lock there doors, it's so hard to get into a building at night if you do not live on campus anyway.)

A great school with great people. Small but big enough. Go Jays!

    Tips for prospective students

Apply early because Creighton accepts students on rolling admission meaning the earlier you apply, the higher the chance you have of getting in.

    Academic Rigor

With the right professor you will do fine. Even with the more challenging professors they will help you out. There is always tutoring as well. A 3.0 in the Arts and Sciences should be manageable.

    Dorm Life

Dorm Life is a great way to meet many people. Dorms for freshman and sophomores are good enough. Most students do not spend much time in their room.

    Food and Dining

Food can get boring at the dining hall but there are many other options for dinner that food does not get that boring.

    What to do for fun

The old market, parties, cheer on athletics.

    Bang for the buck

Definitely Bang for the buck. Most people receive scholarships to cut down the cost or they receive a loan. There are also many programs the University puts on that is free for students.

Great for these types of students

Students looking for a small school or is pursuing graduate education in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Law, Business, or nursing. Also great for students wanting to

    Clubs and Activities

Too many! There is bound to be one for every type of student.

    Greek Life

A good majority of students are in Greek Life(~50%). However, there are no Greek Houses on campus.

    Campus Safety

There are cameras on top of buildings that can monitor a student's activity on the main pathway of campus. Public Safety is also very responsive and there is taxi service where there is the option to be escorted on campus.

Creighton University is a Jesuit college notable for its outstanding academics and great community. The entire teaching faculty provides endless means of assistance so that success is possible for every student. Also, the student population has a strong sense of togetherness and servitude because everyone is able find common ground on the sole drive to achieve their dreams.

    Tips for prospective students

Acceptance to Creighton University is not just about test scores and GPA. The campus revolves around a desire to create well rounded students and if the admissions board can see that you already have that potential and drive, they will want you to be part of the community. So get out and volunteer and be involved in clubs and activities that show your interests and what makes you, you!

    Academic Rigor

Creighton teachers like to challenge their students, but they also make success possible. Not only do the teachers themselves provide one-on-one tutoring, but Creighton offers many different resources to make success a possibility for everyone.

    Dorm Life

For the first two years of attending Creighton, students are required to live on campus, unless circumstances allow different.
Res Life is great! The dorms tend to improve by year. The freshmen dorms are smaller and older but it is easy to make the rooms more spacious with a little creativity and a mallet (to unloft the beds).
A brand new Sophomore dorm was built in the center of campus and its a first choice for most students. As a Junior or Senior, students have the choice to live off campus in houses or apartments, or they can reside in the on-campus apartments which are beautiful.

    Food and Dining

For being such a small campus Creighton offers a choice of where you can dine on campus. There are two main dining halls that are basically buffets, a food court, and a cafe. Creighton ID cards also have the JayBucks feature (much like a debit card) that you can use at restaurants off campus such as Subway, Red Mango, and Sam and Louie's Pizza. Also depending on the meal plan you chose, you receive a certain amount of Dining Dollars on your ID card. With Dining Dollars you can buy any food on campus whether in the dining halls or just the small convenience stores around campus.

    What to do for fun

A lot of people think Omaha = Cornfields = Nothing to do! This is not true at all. Creighton's campus lies at the heart of the city. Yes, sometimes you might find that your Friday is spent staying in and watching a movie but there is nothing wrong with some relaxation because, trust me, you'll need it!
Only five minutes from the campus is the Old Market which is a fun place to walk around, or go to the boutiques, or even have a nice dinner.
There are many activities to do on campus too. The Intermural sports allow anyone to be active with a team in tournaments on a weekly basis. Also the CSU Organization always puts on events to keep students having fun in a safe manner, such as the foam party or movies on the mall. The best way to find things to do at Creighton is to meet people and be willing to walk out of your room!

    Bang for the buck

Creighton is pricey but it is so worth it in the end. Not only do get a great education while you're there, but you have tons of opportunities after you graduate. Campus resources provide assistance with job hunting and internships, and also help you with the application processes if you desire to continue your education at a graduate or professional school. Sometimes it is easy to become discouraged when you look at the cost of attendance, but Creighton offers a great deal of financial aid that you are automatically considered for when you apply for admission. If you still come out short then you can also apply for outside scholarships. It's possible to find the money for it, and if you give it a chance, you will see that the education and experience you gain at Creighton is definitely worth it.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Creighton has a strong sense of diversity and there are an array of clubs that reflect students' heritage. The Hawaii Club puts on an annual luau where they hire a chef all the way from Hawaii to cook for the event. The Hula club also performs as the audience indulges in the delicious, native food. This event is not just campus wide. It's a really big deal. People from all over the city come, and sometimes parents will fly in to enjoy this momentous occasion.

Great for these types of students

Creighton is a private Jesuit University, which basically means that it is faith, education, and service based. It does NOT mean that you have to be catholic, or even religious for that matter. Creighton does not require students to attend mass or be a part of student ministry. There are an assortment of students at Creighton ranging from agnostic to Muslim. Although most students do come from a Catholic background and have attended private high schools before, diversity is greatly respected and appreciated at Creighton. You will fit in as long as you are driven and open to all the possibilities that college life has to offer.

    Clubs and Activities

Just about every student at Creighton is involved in at least one club or activity. The clubs and activities found on campus are actually a big part of what makes the Creighton experience what it is. There is a wide variety of clubs and activities that involve your major, your heritage, or just your hobbies. There are also many clubs that involve ministry and service. The best part is that these clubs are not exclusive. For example, you can be from Kentucky and be in the Hawaiian club.
Clubs are a great way to meet new people and have more than one friend group! If you want you can join ten clubs at the beginning of the semester and end it with two. That way you can find out exactly what interests you and what clubs your passionate about.

    Greek Life

Most of the students at Creighton are involved in Greek Life. Some love it and some decide later that it's not really for them. A lot of people enjoy only rushing because it is a big social event.
Not all of the Sororities and Fraternities have houses because of certain laws in Nebraska that prohibit it, but that doesn't keep them from bonding and having a great experience.

    Campus Safety

Because the campus is in downtown Omaha it can seem scary at night, but it is completely safe. Campus Security is on watch 24/7 through cameras and some of the guards who continuously drive around the campus. If there is an emergency near campus that might put students at risk, Campus Security sends out alerts by phone, text, and email.
Also the parking garages are only open to Creighton staff and students who have Creighton ID cards. Just as the IDs allow access into the garages, they do the same in the dorms. Any time someone goes in they have to swipe. If the are not students they are checked in and monitored until they leave. Also there is a desk worker on duty 24/7 and an RA on every floor so there is always someone to assist you in case of emergencies.
For weather emergencies such as Tornadoes, there is an equipped basement in every building on campus.
Nothing very major has ever happened on campus, and even if it did, Campus Security controls it in a very organized manner to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Creighton University is less of a large daunting university and more like a small community. Creighton actually cares about its students and will do anything they can to help them succeed. It is a great school, not just because of the academics, but because of the people and professors who make it worthwhile.

    Tips for prospective students

Of Creighton recruits students, but if you really want to impress them, take action first. Write an email to your state scout asking them any questions you may have about the school or application, tell them a little about yourself, and ask what else you can do to get a competitive edge. Creighton loves to see students who know how to take action for what they want.

    Academic Rigor

Academic Rigor truly depend on one's major. Overall, the acedemic rigor is fierce. You need to prepare yourself for college level classes and exams, because high school study habits won't cut it here. Luckily, the school has many free tutoring options and the professors are always more than happy to help their students, you just can't be afraid to ask.

    Dorm Life

Dorm Life is great at Creighton. Students are required to live on campus for the first two years, which sounds like a bummer, but it works out for the best. The dorms are clean, a fair size, and almost every room has a sink in it, if not already attached to a bathroom. Dorm life is what makes college college and Creighton does a great job of making that experience easy and fun. My only complaint would be that students have to check in visitors (even from other dorms on campus) after 7 pm- but its just something you get used to.

    Food and Dining

I'm not going to lie, the food at Creighton is far from fabulous. Recently renovated dining halls made a large improvement from the previous year, but no one ever is really ecstatic to eat there. If you're worried about the freshman fifteen you will need to be extra careful with your choices in the dining halls. Everything tends to be on the fattier side, but this is the midwest. Its not the best, but lets just say no one has ever transferred to get away from the food. This is college, what can you expect? :)

    What to do for fun

Downtown Omaha isn't anything to write home about, but you can definitely always find fun things to do. The city isn't huge so if feels safer and it's within walking distance from campus! Omaha is huge on music so if you like to attend concerts, you're in luck. Every genre of music, from famous to practically unheard of bands, can be found in Omaha, and usually less than a ten minute drive from school. You won't ever be bored, there is always an adventure to be found.

    Bang for the buck

Creighton is a private university and is on the pricey side. Fortunately, Creighton is one of the best private school I have ever heard of for giving scholarships and money to their students. They like to take care of their own even after you graduate. Once you find your groove at Creighton, you'll fall in love with the school and the university is one of the most prestigious in the midwest. It's definitely worth it.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Every year their is a lighting ceremony when the president of the university gives a speech and the mall is lit up for the first time in the fall with hundreds of Christmas lights. The ceremony is followed by a large banquet, with the best food you'll get all year. I have heard the ceremony compared to the ceremony at Hogwarts in Harry Potter, it is quite the affair!
St. John's, the Chapel on campus is breath taking and just about every other weekend there is a wedding held there, and all of the female students stop in their tracks to watch the bride on the steps.

Great for these types of students

Creighton is the perfect place for kids who are smart and care about their academics, and yet have a thirst for fun and adventure. Academics is definitely the main focus of the school, this isn't by any means a party school. But the students here live by the saying work hard, play hard.
It is a small school, and within a year you'll recognize almost every face on campus, and know about half of them. Sounds a little too cramped, but it's actually one of the best things about Creighton. Really makes it feel like home and a community of people you know and trust.

    Greek Life

Greek life is small on the campus but it's a great community to get involved in. The greeks make up the majority of the group of kids who go out more often. It really gives your college experience something extra special.

    Campus Safety

Creighton is located in the heart of downtown Omaha, and being in the city it can be a bit sketchy. I can truly say though that I have never felt unsafe on campus or in the area surrounding the campus. Public Safety does a fantastic job of keeping the students safe.

lots of options for a small school. The dining plans are simpler then some other schools. food is pretty good and diverse! Also has a great ice cream bar!

    What to do for fun

there are lots of things! sporting events are big! lots of good restaurants fairly close! red mango is the best yogurt bar there is!! really cute strip mall close. Also there is a movie theater where you can order food while watching the movie and a waiter brings it to you. kind of fun and unique.

    Bang for the buck

The building where you take classes are really nice, clean, comfortable, and cool makes it easier to learn when you don't have to think about being too hot, sit in uncomfortable chairs, not funky smells.
teachers really take the time to get to know you. They want YOU to be successful, because classes are smaller they can spend more time on you.

    Greek Life

It is available. Many people participate but not everyone. they are not as exclusive as on other campus'

    Campus Safety

There are panic buttons and no matter where you are on campus you can always see one. me and my friends tried it out and it is true! we could not find a place where we couldnt see one!

Great school with a known academic reputation. Better known for it's medical degrees. High quality, but expensive education.

    Tips for prospective students

Most students will be pursuing a medical degree. Competitive. Get involved and take advantage of the opportunities.

    Academic Rigor

Very competitive. Science classes especially are tough and meant to weed kids out.

    Dorm Life

Enjoyable. Rooms can be bigger than the typical freshman dorm, depending on where you live. Good activities and community atmosphere.

    Food and Dining

Decent, not great. Not a ton of variety.

    What to do for fun

Omaha is a decent sized city, so there are things to do if you look for them. Not a ton of places to go immediately close to campus, but usually you can find something fun to do.

    Bang for the buck

It's an extremely pricy education, but scholarships are fairly generous. Paying for a high quality education.

Great for these types of students

Those interested in pursuing a medical degree. Not huge partiers, but still like to have fun. And people that love to study.

    Clubs and Activities

SO many ways to get involved in almost anything you want. Amazing amounts of opportunities.

    Greek Life

An amazing experience. Not your typical state school style sorority and fraternity life, but it's unique in it's own ways. Includes a significant amount of the campus population, but you're not excluded if you don't go greek.

    Campus Safety

Public Safety is present, nothing too bad happens directly on campus, but some of the surrounding areas aren't the greatest.

If you can find any other university, anywhere, I recommend you go there. Creighton is so far behind the times, academically, technically and socially, that you would be much better off going to a local community college, if need be. The safety issues alone would have your parents horrified for your well being the entire time you were at Creighton, as there have been a few death related shootings and other serious crimes on or near campus lately, so please, choose another school, one that isn't just a few blocks away from the city's homeless shelter.

    Tips for prospective students

Do not bother trying to attend this school, it is not anywhere near as good as they try to make it seem. Just because it is a private Jesuit school, don't be fooled into thinking that it is anything special. I fell for it, and I now am just counting the days until I am out of here!

    Academic Rigor

The teachers here don't even know how to use the campus computer system, most use texts from ancient times, and yet they try to grade as if an A is a rare thing. And if you are planning on a Masters program after Creighton, you will not be prepared properly, unless you take extra courses.

    Dorm Life

Most of the dorms are outdated, especially the freshman dorms. One student I know got sick from mold spores, and the university refused to do anything about it, they told her that it would be too expensive to remove the mold, so they recommended she move off-campus.

    Food and Dining

The food here is good, and available 24 hours a day, but it is extremely expensive!

    What to do for fun

This school is located in Omaha Nebraska, so the only thing to do for fun is drink, exercise or go to a museum. I hear Florida and California have some excellent schools, and they have oceans nearby!

    Bang for the buck

The city is not too expensive to live in, but there really isn't much to do for entertainment, and off campus housing near the university is in a ghetto neighborhood, so if the rents seem cheap, there is good reason.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

Not much here except old priests.

Great for these types of students

    Heavy drinkers and legacy students.

    Greek Life

Great place to risk your life in a hazing incident, if that is of interest to you.

    Campus Safety

There have been a number of rapes, muggings and even a shooting death this year, so, please, for your own safety, choose a different school! They don't tell you in the nice brochure that the campus is located just a few blocks away from Omaha's only homeless shelter.

    Academic Rigor

no one said college was easy but there are office hours that you can go and ask your professors questions and everyone is really friendly and willing to help. plus the center for student success offers tutoring services and some of which are free.

    Dorm Life

dorm life is just like any. you share a room your freshman year with one other person and communal bathrooms are tolerable once you get used to them. plus creighton has people who clean the bathrooms everyday.

    Food and Dining

it's obviously not your mom's cooking but they offer many different places you can use your meal plan with so that you are able to get some variety/

    Campus Safety

    Will learn a lot

Creighton has a lot of classes to choose from. They are a very good school. They will help you get jobs when you graduate, or help you get into their graduate school programs. If you have a high enough GPA when you graduate after 4 years, they will guarantee you an interview to get into the graduate school program of your choice. They also have plenty of research opportunities that will give you an edge when applying for jobs later on.

    Will enjoy being here

Omaha is a great place to live. It is one of the safest bigger cities in the United States. There is plenty to do there. They have clubs, malls, tons of restaurants. The Henry Doorly Zoo is in Omaha. It is one of the best zoos in America. Omaha is also the home of the College World Series for baseball. They just built the TD Ameritrade Park this past year. Creighton itself has plenty of things going on on campus. If you get involved in one of the many extracurricular activities that Creighton has to offer, you will never be bored. Creighton is a smaller campus, with fewer students, so you should be able to get to know people easily.

    Bang for the buck

Creighton is expensive. The tuition might be enough to scare you from applying, but i suggest you do. It is completely worth the money. They will set you up with a job when you graduate or help you get into graduate school. They will prepare you for life after college too. There are also tons of merit scholarships you can apply for to help reduce the cost of tuition that Creighton offers.

    Tips for prospective students

Take the ACT test towards the end of your Junior Year. Also make sure you study for it. Apply earlier than December to reduce the stress of getting things in before the deadlines. Go to CU Sundays, and also make a personal college visit so that you can get all of your questions answered by the professors in the field of study you want to go into.

Great for these types of students

Hard working students who are dedicated to expanding their knowledge and willing to work hard and go the extra mile to get good grades are perfect for Creighton.

    Am learning a lot

Your college education is one of the most important investments you will make, so the focus on the education is the most important part. After two semesters here, I couldn't believe how much the professors fit into a one semester class. Going through a whole textbook in this time is challenging, but each professor accomplishes this task while making sure each student soaks in all the information. Each professor takes time to tell each student the best way to study for their specific class, increasing your opportunity to learn. College classes can be a big change from high school classes, but Creighton professors make the transitions into their classes simple, while also providing enough challenge to stay alert.

    Am enjoying being here

Though I am enjoying the summer break from school, I cannot wait to return to Creighton. This is how I know I love it. Everyday provides a new experience and new opportunities. The campus is FULL of extracurricular activities and ways to get involved. It is so easy to meet new people everywhere you go: the dining halls, classes, school events, the dorms, sporting events, etc, but there are not so many people that it becomes crowded. The size of the school is perfect because it is not too small but also does not have too many students. You can feel comfortable while also seeing new faces everyday. Another reason I love being here is the amount of facilities to study and hang out in. You can find places to be comfortable no matter what your plans are; you don't have to just hang out in your dorm room.

    Bang for the buck

Yes, the tuition may seem like a lot of money. However, once you get settled in, you will see why the money is worth it. The campus is beautiful, and it provides a comfortable feeling to all those in attendance. Besides an education and great environment for your money, you get to go to Creighton sporting events without charge, go to many free events, be in inexpensive extracurricular activities, and have free shuttles around the whole campus provided for you. You also get great places to live, as all of the dorms are very nice.

    Tips for prospective students

It only took one step onto Creighton's campus to do it for me: I was going there. Look for that comfort feeling when touring schools, but don't focus too hard on it. Creighton is comfortable- so look for those comfortable places! Tour every building you can to experience all that Creighton has to offer. Looking at your entire future campus is the best way to get to know it. This helped me really get in touch with my future school!

Great for these types of students

Creighton has all types of students in its attendance, but it works really well for organized and independent learners. Though Creighton provides a lot of help for your classes and dorm life, being organized here makes everything easier.

Creighton is known for their academics nation wide! I learned more in one semester than my entire high school career. Being in Omaha, and at a national ranked university opens many doors for students to learn not only school work but also life lessons. Professors are also available to chat about classes, or just life, and that is where I do most of my learning. Classrooms are relatively small, which also enhances learning abilities. Asking questions is a must! This also allows the professor to get to know you better.

    Am enjoying being here

Omaha is a great city to live in, and Creighton University is in the heart. Downtown is in walking distance, and there are plenty of activities to do on campus! We have whats called the mall it is just a place for students to congregate. On the mall people are able to set up tables, speakers, and have food for all students to enjoy. There are always people around campus, which makes the campus lively!

    Bang for the buck

Creighton University's tuition with room and board is around $40,000. This sounds outrageous, which I agree, but our professors make the difference. I meet with everyone of my professors at least once, then they know my name. The Financial Aid office is also able to help students who are in need of aid to attend the university. Taking classes in the summer or before college is a huge help in cutting down the cost. 90% of the campus is on some sort of financial aid, and other outside scholarships are extremely helpful.

    Tips for prospective students

Taking a campus tour is the most important thing a prospective student can do. Touring allows students to really see life on campus, and see an example classroom puts everything into perspective. Also, taking college classes in high school, but you need to make sure they are able to transfer into Creighton. This cuts down cost as well as time that you have to be in college. Next, is getting involved on campus. This is a great time to network and meet people. Also, this gives you opportunities such as jobs, service projects, and research. Last, go to class. Students who attend class are able to retain information as well as receive information from professors about test, projects, and assignments that students who don't go to class will not receive.

Great for these types of students

Creighton University is great for students would are goal and career minded. They are outgoing and looking to make an impact on the world. Also, students who are looking to attend some sort of professional school. Creighton has a great reputation that its' name carries. It also gives a well-rounded education that most schools are looking for. If you are able to study but also have fun, Creighton is the school for you!

Creighton is a hard University if you don't study regularly, but it is well worth the effort. The core can seem daunting and you might believe that you will never get it done, but it does make you a very rounded person. There are a ton of classes available with great professors. The classroom sizes are smaller than any state school. There are usually around 25-30 students in small classrooms and during large groups the classroom size can get up to 50 students, but that is way smaller than a state school which has 100 students as its smallest class size. The smaller class size makes it way easier to learn a lot and to ask professors questions.

    Am enjoying being here

Creighton is a lot of fun. Campus is great because there is constantly something going on. Some things that you can do are go to soccer games, baseball games, basketball games, and softball games. Home soccer games, girls basketball games, baseball games, and softball games are all on campus. The men's basketball games are at the Qwest Center which is close to campus and there are shuttles that will take students from campus to the game. All for FREE!! Every student can get into home games for free with their student ID. I also love that they wait until spring semester to do Rush.

    Bang for the buck

Creighton is very expensive, but they do give scholarships for students who deserve them. Creighton is more than an in-state university, however, it is cheaper than many other private universities. Freshman year is typically the most expensive because you do not receive as much money in scholarships. However, after freshman year there are many more scholarship opportunities to gain scholarships from Creighton. My parents and I do not have a lot of money, however for the education I am receiving is well worth it.

    Tips for prospective students

One tip is to go to every class. Do not skip class because the professors will notice. Another tip is to go to your professor when you need help because they want you to succeed. The best time to see your professor is just before a test because they can help you review the most important information and make you feel confident before going into the test period. Another tip is to make sure that you use your time wisely and make sure to stay on top of your homework and reading assignments so that you are not staying up until 3 in the morning the night before the assignment is due. Also if you start to feel home sick or overly stressed go see a counselor on campus because it is free to every student!!

Great for these types of students

Creighton is great for students who want to go on to professional school. The University is also great for students who like to study, but also have fun. Creighton is a hard university, but if you study regularly and get help when you need it you will do fine!!

CU is a great university where the professors really care about their students. They are always there for the students and will help in any way possible. They would take time out of their weekends to even come to school to help the students for the midterms and finals. Teachers teach the courses, not TAs. The teachers like to challenge the students so that they may learn and get a better education.

    Am enjoying being here

Being from Hawaii and going to a school where I do not have family, it is hard on the breaks because everyone goes home. Even though CU may be far from my home, I'm enjoying myself and am able to keep myself occupied for four months before I can return home. CU is a fun school where its small size helps the students to get to know one another. They also set up a few concerts and other activities to do throughout the year. One time they had a BINGO night during finals week, which was a fun way to relieve some stress. They even provide free coffee and cookies during finals weeks for the students. CU is fun where everyone is nice and friendly.

    Bang for the buck

I feel that it is worth the money because it is a lot of fun and it is challenging. The professors are really nice and there for you to help you learn. Due to the small class sizes, the professors are able to get to know the students and help them. I really think this is what makes this school worth it because unlike the bigger schools, the professors are able to get to know the students to help them understand better. This also helps because the professors will be able to write better letters of recommendations for you. The core classes that everyone has to take really helps the students to be well rounded and helps to find what they are interested in.

    Tips for prospective students

I say be ready to go the library a lot to study for all your classes. Although it may be challenging it could be fun studying with your friends. Don't worry about making new friends because it is easy to get to know others. CU has a lot of clubs and it is small where you can get to know everyone. Also, CU has a welcome week for the first week where they set up parties and a lot of activities for one to get to know others. I know I met a lot of new people during the welcome week that I still hang out with today. It was a lot of fun because the upperclassmen are also willing to help you get acquainted with the campus and the scheduling. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you can't find a class; anyone would help.

Great for these types of students

This school is great for the type of students interested in the medical field. CU has core classes that helps the students to get a better education and prepare for the medical field. CU is also great for the type of students seeking a better education. It may be challenging but helps the students learn more.
