Categories Rating Comments In three sentences This college is good for transitioning from high school into college. It is a small town atmosphere so adjusting to college life is easy. It is relatively inexpensive and financial aid is available it is a good financial choice for obtaining basic courses.
Tips for prospective students Contact the financial office as soon as possible to find out what scholarships and other aid is available. It is important to meet with an advisor to guide you in enrolling in the prerequisite classes to prepare for your major studies and to assure you do not waste time and money on courses you do not need.
Academic Rigor Many academic choices are available and you can opt to take easy classes or actual courses to prepare you for further studies. You have the opportunity to set your own goals and work towards them.
Food and Dining Cafeteria is available for meals. There is also a snack bar for light meals and snacks.
What to do for fun There are many sports programs so students have to opportunity to participate or to attend and support students who are competing. The town has a movie theater and several inexpensive places to eat. It is a small town so there is not the choices of entertainment that the cities provide, but for students who are interested in studying and socializing with each other, there will always be something to do.
Bang for the buck Most of the major prerequisites are available and a much lower cost than many colleges so attending DCCC to complete these courses will reduce the amount of loans you may need for education beyond the 2 year program and reduce the overall financial debt.
Great for these types of students Students who are used to and prefer a small town atmosphere; students who may struggle a bit with studies and need smaller classes and more instructor involvement; students who want to participate in competitive sports but do not have the talent to make the teams in a D1 college.
Campus Safety Security guards are on duty at all times. The college is in the process of basing a full time security team at the college. Lighting is excellent and there are large parking areas with little isolation in any area.
