    Am learning a lot

    In my experience, I have not attend other schools so this is based on just my experience in this school The reason that I rate learning a lot 5 of 5 is: almost all the classes were very fun as well informative. to make sure you get this 5 out of 5 is talk to previous students about their teachers. Here teachers have a wide rang of teaching techniques, so you should be able to match you needs and likes. When I started I found the thought of Freedom! amazing, but even knowing that some of these teachers are more lenient on attendance these teachers actually go out of their way to make classes fun and interesting while still being VERY informative. Making you want to go to class.
    Am enjoying being here

    I really like the school here, especially if you are a little out going (which I'm not too much). Something that I found so amazing yes amazing, is the friendliness of the staff. You can ask just about anyone and people will go out of there way to make sure they help you to the best of their ability. I give it a 4 because everything that you could expect from a smaller school is here. Also, if you go out of your way just a bit to get involved with some of the many organizations around the school you will have a much better time. The reason I give it a four out of five is based on not being able to find nice quiet spots. If there were more spots were you can just relax in quiet I would give it a five.
    Bang for the buck

    They only thing that deters me from this school is that it can use updating computers, equipment, some class rooms especially, technology. The school I think is suppose to look old I like the new age look, just my opinion so I don't know how much I can really complain at this. Another thing that makes me give only 3 stars is that the school can be a bit pricy when you can get into much larger schools for about the same. The biggest factor that make me give it a 3 is that some classes seem to be getting crowded and its getting a little hard to find a nice quiet spot. But if you don't want giant class sizes (like hundreds) or just a giant school then Dominican can be a great choice
    Tips for prospective students

    The number one thing is to talk to other students as much as possible about their experiences with particular teachers, they all have their teaching techniques.

    Number two, match your major to the school. As I said before, it can use some updating, I'm not a tech major or anything but there can be better technology.

    Number three, take a good long tour to see if your going to be happy with the school.

    I would say that you have to be a little out going to really appreciate the extra perks the school has.

    Most of all, students that like smaller schools I think it my be getting a little crowded

    Tips for prospective students

    Dominican University is a great school with challenging courses. Procrastination is something that happens to almost everyone, however, make sure you don't let this happen to you. Manage your time wisely because time is key. I learned to spread my assignments out and to make sure I have plenty of time to complete each homework assignment. Don't overload yourself with all the assignments in one day; this can cause stress. Just make sure you manage time and always stay focused. Learn to make the right decisions; be smart about the choices you have to make.
    Dorm Life

    Dorm life is so much fun at Dominican University. I stayed in the Coughlin residence for my freshman year and absolutely loved it. Everyone on the floor usually has their doors open so it's an easy way to meet people. Also, the RA's are super easy to talk to and are always willing to talk whenever you need something. There are activities that take place at floor meetings so you get to know the people on your floor even better which is great!
    Food and Dining

    The food isn't always the best in the dining hall, however, the cyber cafe has really good sandwiches that you can create that will fulfill your craving. There are specials in the cyber every week whether it's a deal on a certain sandwich or even a soup of the day! There is a huge variety of things to pick from in cyber and also the dining hall. My favorite meal would have to be breakfast in the dining hall. They make extremely good breakfast and have a lot to offer. There is always a special going on at the dining hall every meal. Besides the entrees that are offered in the dining hall, there is also some type of dessert made for the students.
    What to do for fun

    There is a lot to do for fun on campus as well as off campus. Once the weather is nice, it is always fun to get friends together to play volleyball in the quads or maybe some soccer or Frisbee. There are parks that are near the school which is nice because you can walk to them with friends. In the winter, it's always fun for a snowball fight. Also there is transportation that can take you to the green line to go downtown for the day! Some other things you can do is join clubs that are offered at the school because it's an easy way to meet people.

    Every student is welcomed here. The school is very diverse and open to everyone.

    Dominican offers a huge variety of clubs. Some that are offered are italian club, math club, nutrition club, dance team, Eco club. That is just to name a few! Sports can also fit into this category. Dominican has an amazing athletic department. The coaches are all extremely easy to talk to and create a fun, challenging environment.
    Campus Safety

    The campus safety at Dominican University is top of the line. There is always someone around to make sure the environment is safe. The campus safety is always on duty to make sure someone can get back to the dorms safe. The campus safety also has the staff drive through the parking lot at set times to make sure nothing sketchy is going on in the parking lot.

    Campus is close to downtown Chicago therefore everyone can find something to do for fun. From different sorts of clubs to walks on the beach to amazing shopping.

    Dominican has a beautiful campus that is calming and great for studying. Professors in the art department are exceptional and exceeded all of my expectations. I have learned so much and feel enlightened when looking out at the world, feeling very prepared.

    It is a great school if you want to achieve something in life, and learn and stay true to yourself. The schools in Business, Art and Education are some of the best in the country. You can study abroad in so many different countries and take so much away from Dominican. This school give you faith, knowledge and friendship.

    Most of the professors are so inspiring, and informative. They believe in you and educate you in so many different ways. Even in classes that are not in your major.

    Delicious in a very simple way. Definitely much healthier than any restaurant food. Dominican has a huge emphasis on health.

    There is so much beauty in the ares and it is also very close to downtown Chicago. There is always something fun to do.

    I think it is a great school for the amount. You get many opportunities through Dominican and advantages.
    Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

    There is always something new or different going on due to the diversity of students. A great location is the O'Connor Gallery there are always great exhibitions through out the year. There are also spectacular study nooks in the magnificent library here.

    So many clubs and activities at Dominican. They always have great events for students, like free bowling on wednesdays, and much more. I myself am a part of three clubs.

    dominican university has a great student to teacher ratio. most of my classes have 15 or less students. its small and not a party school.

    visit the campus and see how you feel. i knew the second i saw the university where i was going to school.

    there is little to no social life here. i was a transfer student, so that may be why i feel a little out of place.

    the food is good but not great. by the end of the semester you'll be sick of anything you have to eat everyday. there is not a lot of variety.
    What to do for fun

    there is a lot of student activities every week but other than that its a little dead on campus.

    the school is expensive, but they aid they gave me beat everywhere else, including state school.

    if you're looking to study and not party, its perfect for you. the school fits me well because i don't go out every night.

    the security guards walk me back to my dorm from the lab every night! they're the best.
