Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot This University has an extremely high academic level. Professors are dedicated, and provide their students with all necessary material for them to have a complete understanding of their subject.
Many classes include discussions, or online sections, that are given in addition to the typical lesson, to allow students to completely comprehend all the information taught.
Furthermore, numerous courses will also have specific tutoring classes, offered for free, to clarify any questions that students might develop throughout the semester.Am enjoying being here Florida Atlantic University is a large College, that continues to grow each year. However, most students attending FAU are local. Therefore, there is a great sense of familiarity among people throughout the campus, which makes new and current students feel comfortable and content.
Faculty, administrators, and students are always very friendly, and willing to help.
There are always educational events taking place, which allow all people to get even more involved with the University, and become an active college student.Bang for the buck Florida Atlantic University is not an excessively expensive school. Considering the excellent education received from this College, and the services provided by the administration and faculty, the tuition price is not too high.
Nevertheless, scholarship opportunities are somewhat limited. It is not easy to obtain financial aid. Options are restricted, and the number of awards distributed is low.Tips for prospective students Any student considering Florida Atlantic University is making a great choice. At this school, you will be able to complete your actual academic objective. People at FAU are there to learn, and prepare for the future.
In terms of the college experience, there are plenty of interesting opportunities regarding clubs, organizations, or other institutions for further involvement at the University.
However, anyone that is looking for a strong college education should take time to evaluate FAU's excelled options.Great for these types of students FAU would be great for anyone who is determined, and wants to succeed in their college career. This school has a calm and diverse environment, which allows people to actually dedicate time to deep studying.
Additionally, Florida Atlantic University is a great option for students that live in South Florida, and want to live at their home throughout their first degrees. About three fourths of FAU are students that commute each day, from their home to campus, and back.
Nevertheless, this college could be a worthy option for anyone who is striving for a thriving future.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot At FAU's Honors College in Jupiter, FL I am learning more than I ever thought possible. The class sizes, on average, are no more than twenty students, so there is personal student attention. Professors have very flexible office hours and are always available for questions, comments, or concerns.
Am enjoying being here Living on campus is great. The campus is small so all buildings are within a five minute (at most) walking distance. The dining hall is directly across from the resident halls. Everyone knows everyone and the faculty and staff are extremely friendly.
Bang for the buck FAU's Honors College has all of the content of a small, private school for a public school's tuition.
Tips for prospective students Always study, but do not become a hermit. Go to the events, regardless of how lame they may seem. Make lots of friends; you'll know everyone by the first week.
Great for these types of students Students who like a small school atmosphere, between 300 and 400 people. Students who would love the luxury of their own bed room. Students who are not sport-obsessive and who put studies first.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I feel I am learning a lot at FAU and that I am learning quickly. We have department advisors for the various fields of study to help us select our classes and ensure that we are only taking classes that are necessary for our major. I know first hand how important this is because I went to a different college for my fall term and ended up having to drop a class because I was never advised that an introduction to that course was necessary, although not required. At FAU, this is standard and it helps ensure that we do not waste our time or money. The classes are challenging, yet you know there is free lab help available should you need it. The professors are great at passing on their knowledge to us and they interact well with the students. The professors that I’ve had so far seem to really enjoy what they are doing and that makes for a better learning environment for us students.
Am enjoying being here FAU is the perfect mix of learning and fun. We all have to be responsible for getting ourselves to class and absorb and retain the days lessons. When the classes are done, however, the fun begins. Dorm life is awesome and there’s plenty to do around here. The students are friendly and fun-loving. We all take care of each other and are a close-knit community. The professors seem to enjoy their work and are very helpful. The gym is free and open until late so even those of us who work can get our workouts in. The cafeteria services are great; the food is fresh and it’s open until about 10:30 pm for dinner, which means we can still get real food instead of cold, pre-packaged sandwiches or snacks from our dorms. We have our own little town on campus with many conveniences--yes, even a fast-food court for those who miss being back home. When we went to get out, though, the big city is just a street light away with hordes of activities and amenities, including some of the most beautiful beaches.
Bang for the buck A university education does not comes cheap, but FAU is well worth the money. It is a renown leader in many fields and students leave here well-prepared for their careers. Due to their top-quality education, FAU graduates are more likely to start earning top pay in their fields just out of college.
Tips for prospective students Bring late-night snacks and plenty to share--there are always friends around to keep you company. Bring a bike or other means of getting around campus, because it is large. In sunny Boca, you’ll get a work-out just getting to your classes.
Great for these types of students FAU is great for ambitious, self-motivated students who want to get the most out of their careers and life in general.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot You can tell that Florida Atlantic University really cares for their students, because the staff they have hired to teach, are very determined to make sure, that we succeed in whatever we would like to do. The staff is very friendly, and they give me a feeling that they are really there to help, instead of just wanting to be there, because they have to. Plus they have a plethora of programs for students who would like to learn more, or challenge themselves. For example, there is the University Scholars Program which a program that provides students with exceptional and rewarding learning opportunities through special honors seminars, giving each student special advising.
Am enjoying being here FAU would be the college you would have fun at, because after all the classes, and studying, You can go to beach, and take a little break from the college life. The beaches from FAU, are just a few miles away, along with the city life. Plus, FAU, have many student activities, and clubs, so if you would like to get involve, that would be no problem.
Bang for the buck FAU, is the least expensive school in florida, beside a community college. Scholarships are available, but they are arduous to receive. For example, you have to have this many hours, and this kind of major, in order to get certain scholarships. There are no easy ones, but if you work hard, and meet those certain requirements, that scholarship will be hand delivered to you.
Tips for prospective students For prospective students, FAU, is a optional school. What I mean, is that FAU, give you so many options. For example, if you are a local student, who just live thirty minutes away from this university, this school is perfect for that person. If you are a out of state student who is looking for a traditional university experience, this college also fits that person. FAU, serves many people wants. It doesn't matter who you are, or where you live. FAU, will still be the college that will fit you.
Great for these types of students FAU is great for students who are looking for a school that has diversity. FAU is widely diverse. If a student would like to get to know more cultures, outside of its own, this is the college for them. FAU, is great for these types of students.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I've been in the college of engineering, college of business, and now, the college of design and social inquiry. The curriculum is all about applications and examples and how to's so when you're reading the text, you know when to use which information. Engineering is very cut and dry. You MUST be prepared to spend night after night studying, practicing, and reviewing. I have taken classes from every college, from history of earth and life to world politics to international economics to surveying. After every class session I would have to call or text someone and tell them what I learned. So much information in your head in one class time you think your head is going to explode.
Am enjoying being here Can't complain about the 350 days of sunshine, or the fact that Miami is half an hour away to satisfy all your party needs, or the fact that the bahamas is $140 plane ticket and a 35 minute ride. The best diving, snorkeling, surfing, and best lookin people are within a 45 minute radius drive from Boca Raton. If you love being outside, this is the place. Of course, there is a mall about every 20 miles, so there is no shortage of shopping. Absolutely none. Everything designer is right here. Oh, and when people have house parties, they're in mansions, not houses. Big outdoorsy community here. Boating, fishing, surfing, diving, eating, drinking. Oh, some of the best cuisine - they've got everything. Indian, authentic Japanese, Chinese, Thai, genuine Italian gelato, Italian, authentic Cuban, everything is delicious. You won't go to a chain restaurant here, I promise you.
Bang for the buck FAU itself is very reasonable. If you live off campus (which I recommend after freshmore year), do so. FAU does not charge a million different fees. The parking permits are free, but don't dare park illegally. They're too quick. Boca Raton is an expensive city - gas is expensive here (comparably), clothes and jewelry and all of that glitz is expensive. The best bang for the buck are these hole in the wall food places that immigrants own - they're the best. I don't know anyone that goes to a chain restaurant. There's a local sushi place that gets FLOODED with FAU students on Friday and Saturday nights. Car insurance is cheap in this city for some reason. Rent is a little ridiculous. I come from tampa, and I could get a beautiful remodeled apartment for $750. $750 in Boca Raton is the hood. I mean not a nice area at all. Your average 1 bedroom in a nice area can run from $850 to over $1000. Get a roommate.
Tips for prospective students Wherever you come from, live on campus your first year. I didn't have the advantage of living in the dorms as I transferred as a junior.
Be friends with upperclassmen. Trust me. There is nothing to do for the U21 scene - except house parties, and those get old. A lot of clubs are 21+, and they're good at spotting fakes.
Talk to EVERYONE in your class, the freshmen, the seniors, and the older students. I wish I hadn't been so shy my first year, it would be a lot easier for me to network now if I had been more outgoing.
Greek life rules! Get involved. It's a very long but rewarding process and even if you don't think Greek is for you, at least go to the info session. You might be surprisedGreat for these types of students Barry Kaye College of Business is ranked in US News as one of the best business colleges (top 100), so Accounting, Business Admin, International Business, Economics, and related, all great
Also, education program here is great.
Pre-Pharm, Pre-Law, and Pre-Med are also all great because of FAUs agreement with UM.
However, FAU will be getting its own medical school in a year or two. Worth looking into.
Psychology program is also on the up and up.
And finally,

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Florida Atlantic University is a great University to attend! The staff is very dedicated to helping their students learn. The University has an excellent science program with satisfactory professors that are truly genuine in helping you succeed.
Am enjoying being here I love FAU its right by the beach and the atmosphere is great. The weather is always nice so it doesn't delay you to class! They have a lot of sorority and fraternity selections as well as numerous amounts of clubs.
Bang for the buck It offers a lot of help to students who need it and who apply for financial aid. Florida residents get a great discount too!
Tips for prospective students Parking is a handful so be sure to arrive early always!
Professors love helping out so go to office hours.Great for these types of students You need to be willing to ask for help if you need it, and you must be very motivated! The environment outside is hot so be willing to deal with the heat.

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students This is a great school especially for students who live close by. I am able to hop on the highway and be in home in less than 45 minutes.
Great for these types of students I have enjoyed attending FAU and looking forward to another great year. Lots of student activities, sports, great academic programs and since the school is not a huge school, it feels like you won't get lost when trying to find something. It is also close to the beach and mall when you don't have classes and just need to take a breather!

Categories Rating Comments Academic Rigor the professors and their possible assistants are very helpful and prove the students with office hours and personal email addresses that they are able to be contacted at any given time. the library, which is three stories high, is available from early in the morning to late at night, in convenience of all students. the study groups and si sessions are also very helpful, especially if you missed class and around finals. there are various resources and tools that are readily available for everyone in order to have a greater learning experience.
Am enjoying being here I love FAU and I love attending FAU. I'm not just saying that either. I got accepted into five other schools around across Florida, but I visited FAU twice my senior year and knew that I had to go to this school. The other students are so friendly and helpful, the professors I've had so far are also helpful, especially when asking for directions. The cafeteria is open throughout the day, where fresh and delicious food is made from veggies to pizza to lasagna to chicken to anything your heart desires. Not to mention there is a food court with some familiar restaurants that are also available to us so we won't have to eat the noodles and cold spaghetti like other college kids you may or may not have heard about. Boca Raton is a beautiful town, the people outside of FAU community are very gregarious, the mall is huge, and the beach is amazing. Not to mention were not to far from I-95 so when I want to travel it's not that big of an issue. So yeah, I enjoy going to Florida Atlantic University.
Bang for the buck not only is fau a public school, but they are also very affordable. two of the main aspects i was in search for when choosing the right college for me. financial aid and other scholarships are available to students. there is also a financial aid office on campus with staff that will help guide students on how to get money to pay for school. i think that everything is affordable, from the cost to attend to the cost to get at a buffet on campus to buying scantrons, which, by the way are only 35 cents. not only that but fees include use of the gym, riding the palm tran for free, free wifi and other things. as long as you complete your fafsa, and apply to scholarships and apply yourself there should be no problems.
Tips for prospective students be responsible, be punctual, be driven, be open, be a scholar, be organized, be ready to have wonderful college experiences, be ready to stay up to study for test, be ready to be more mature, be ready to become a owl...good luck!
Great for these types of students great for students who want new experiences, chances to travel abroad, who are open to having a good time and still be on top of their assignments and great for students who really want to learn more and gain better knowledge on their major(s).

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I plan to attend the FAU honors program, Wilkes, this spring. It is located in Jupiter and has a beautiful campus. However, a large deciding factor for me is that Scripps Laboratories, located on campus, offers numerous internships throughout your college experience. So you will not only learn a lot form the wonderful and qualified professors, but you will also gain hands on experience.
Will enjoy being here Wilkes offers some amazing comforts. For instance they have their own cafeteria which serves their students, all of which are on the dining plan; however, best of all, each person has their own room and only shares a dorm suite. Additionally, it is a small campus and everybody is very nice and approachable.
Bang for the buck Wilkes' top rate professors combined with the internships offered at Scripps Laboratories provides a very commensurate trade for your money.
Great for these types of students Wilkes is the perfect school for anyone who is a science major and likes small campuses. It is also has a, from what I've heard, an excellent and guaranteed path to medical school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Throughout high school your teachers always tell you that the give you so much work and try to grade hardly, because college you are all on your own and your professors will not care about you. At Florida Atlantic University I have found the complete opposite of this to be true. This university has made it possible for me to learn so much more than I though I could have, and provided me with many resources on furthering my learning and giving me help when I need it. My professors all are there when I need help during office hours, and the school provides many SI sessions and other tutor sessions completely free that help me in very many ways.
Am enjoying being here Many universities only offer activities such as football games and such on the weekens, and for some school you'll get lucky if you're one of the few who gets a student ticket for the game. But, this univeristy has offered so many free events to the students almost everyday of the week that I am always finding something to do. They also offer free admission to all home games, and free transportation while the building of the new stadium is in process. (Which is going to be awesome). There are tons of clubs to join, the gym is free, there's a pool to lounge in, and tons of other ways to connect and make friends here.
Bang for the buck In my opinion, I thought my first year of college was going to rob me of my money. But, after seeing how many scholarship oppurtunities and grants that the school offered, it gave great relief. Although I still had to take out student loans, if you just put in the effort and apply for as many scholarships as you can, you're bound to get at least one. Since this school is also public, it's a little cheaper than a lot of other schools.
Tips for prospective students GET INVOLVED ON CAMPUS!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The teachers are really good. They really care about there students and want them to do well. They have tons of resources around campus to help out the students.
Am enjoying being here I really like the school. There is always something to do. There is something for everyone here. Although during the summer months different things are closed but there is still a ton of things to do.
Bang for the buck Take advantage of things on campus and get what you are paying for. There are so many things that you pay for in your tuition that you might as well get what you paid for. And one of the best school's cost wise, in the state of Florida, which is great especially if you are a resident.
Tips for prospective students Just be ready to work and stay focused. Get involved in the different things on campus and also focus and get your work done. If you are doing the summer session, you really want to be focused because you do a lot in a short amount of time and if you miss one class, it is just like missing a week. Go to class. You pay for it and there is no need to let it go to waste.
Great for these types of students This school is great for all kinds of students. There are a lot of students but the school still has a small school feel. They are growing and opening tons of opportunities. It is great for students who are going to take advantage of the things around them. As well it helps if students like the hot weather because it is hot majority of the year.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot FAU offers an array of degrees both online and in the classroom setting. It's not just an average university. You'll be in the middle of fast paced production of turning into a real university, as we rid our title of a commuter school. Classrooms are always full and students are always studying!
Am enjoying being here From our library that contains rare recordings from Roosevelt’s speech to the U.S. Congress following Pearl Harbor, to the brand spanking new football stadium being built, us owls know how to have fun! You get your dose of school spirit from all the clubs and organization promoting themselves on the Breezeway, and your sophisticated side with the students studying in the library. It's an amazing University!
Bang for the buck At only around $4,000 a year, you'll definitely be happy you payed it. FAU offers free writing help, math help, Supplemental Instruction sessions and much more. It also offers free homecoming events, such as the free comedy show this past year that feature comic, Mitch Fatel.
Great for these types of students School Spirited, Career Driven

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot FAU has many different types of classes. There are many different classes to take with a variety of majors. They have tutors available to help you as well if you need extra help. FAU is a great school. There are classes online as well as in the classroom. Some teachers give you homework online as well, which is really helpful.
Am enjoying being here There are many different things to do at FAU. There are many different clubs, fraternities, and sororities here. There are a variety of students that go here as well. There are lots of activities to do at school and FAU is located by shopping centers and a mall too if you have spare time.
Bang for the buck FAU is one of the less expensive universities.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you study a lot. It is very important. Also, if tutoring or extra help is available online or in the classroom, you should definately take the opportunity to do it. Also, you should make sure that you take a variety of classes your first semester and try not to slack off because it will be harder for you if you mess up your first semester.
Great for these types of students Great for Business, Health, Education students

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I attend FAU's Honors College in Jupiter, so my review will differ from the students in Boca Raton. I feel that I am learning a lot from this school with its challenging coursework, but with such a small school the class choices are extremely limited.
Am enjoying being here At the Honors College, there are only about 400 students in the school. Opportunities are very limited, as most are reserved for the Boca campus. Out of state students will find it almost impossible to get by without a car.
Bang for the buck The Honors College is very cheap compared to most schools of similar caliber, but dorm opportunities are non-existent (required to live on campus all 4 years), clubs are weakly funded, and school activities are similar to a high school with a low budget.
Tips for prospective students If you are from Florida, you will probably enjoy this school much more. Out of state students will find it difficult to fully appreciate. Visit during the school year and talk to current students to see if the school is a good fit. It's a love-hate school-- you can't find anyone with a neutral opinion.
Great for these types of students Ambitious, smart, Florida residents, access to transportation, considered an outcast in high school

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences florida atlantic university is a decent school with a decent campus. there are great professors teaching great courses in a rigorous semester. students are nice but not too much interaction between everyone.
Tips for prospective students it's a much better idea to live on campus or live close to it if you have the funds to do so. campus is peaceful and the academic courses require time and work but it is not overwhelming so that's a plus.
Academic Rigor courses do require time, work, and thinking but one won't become too overwhelmed being enrolled at fau.
Dorm Life i, personally, do not live on campus but the dorms seem to be a great way at meeting new people and having new experiences.
Food and Dining great food with top notch restaurant chains and the employees are friendly.
What to do for fun for fun, it would probably be better off campus and maybe even out of the city. no professional sports in town but a beach is real close and so is a movie theater and other activities.
Bang for the buck you get a lot of amenities for being a student here. there's a great gym and sport teams.
Great for these types of students students looking for a more peaceful environment.
Clubs and Activities there are hundreds of clubs and activities for to partake in here at florida atlantic university
Greek Life the fraternities and sororities seem to have great fun here.
Campus Safety there are never any problems on campus, however, there some incidents in places such as apartments nearby that one should take into account.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I attend FAU's Honors College on the Jupiter campus. When you attend the Honors College, you are getting a private school education for the public school price. There are small classroom sizes (my smallest class was four students) and along with that comes individualized attention. The professors are extremely intelligent and want you to make the best of your education. In the honors program, you learn more than you ever expected, and as it is a liberal arts college, you can take everything you've learned and apply it to whatever you choose to concentrate in (your major).
Am enjoying being here The Jupiter campus is small, so the availability of programs and events is much smaller than on the Boca campus. However, there are numerous clubs who always welcome members, and you can start a club easily if you want. You get to know nearly everyone on campus. The campus is beautiful and everyone is friendly.
Bang for the buck FAU is one of the best valued universities in Florida. The Honors College, in particular, offers you a scholarship just for attending, and there are other university-specific scholarships that you can apply for. This keeps the cost affordable.
Tips for prospective students Don't be discouraged if classes seem hard. Once you get into the rhythm of things, you'll enjoy the learning experience more than you'll worry about the difficulty of the material.
Get involved in a club or two, and attend events. You'll meet lots of friends that way.
Our library has a 24-hour study room, which is very safe and the perfect spot to grab a booth and write a paper or study for an exam with friends.Great for these types of students - Students who want the privacy of their own room (All freshman and sophomores are required to live on campus. The dorms are set up suite style, with four individual bedrooms, a common room, and split bathroom).
- Students who prefer a small campus
- Students who are looking for an honors liberal arts and science education.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Bang for the buck It's definitely worth your money if you want great education and a good degree in what you want to major in. It isn't all that pricey and that's a good thing.
Tips for prospective students Well I need some tips so when i go off to FAU next Fall (2012).

Bang for the buck Worth the tuition cost besides its worth it and not that expensive compared to other Florida university's.
Tips for prospective students When you get accepted know which FAU campus your are attending which means know what courses you are taking and where you can take them since you certainly do not want to be stuck driving from Miami to Boca Raton. Consider on campus living which can be worth while when it comes to starting over a new fresh life and making new friends while getting involved in campus activities. Also great plus about Boca campus JOBS everywhere!
Great for these types of students Any one wanting to make something out of themselves

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I'm a few weeks away from completing my first year at FAU and I can tell you with certainty that it is everything and more that I expected it to be. I've already learned so much more than I had intended in just the first year, and I'm extraordinarily happy with the education I'm receiving.
Am enjoying being here The environment is fantastic. The students there are friendly, inviting, and great to be around. I'm a commuter and I still feel like part of a community.
Bang for the buck It's well worth the tuition, especially since it's a lot lower than many other colleges.
Tips for prospective students Prepare yourself, look into the classes and majors but make sure to have some fun. FAU is great for both receiving an education and having fun, take advantage of everything it has to offer.
Great for these types of students Every type of student. I know, a lot of people say that. But if you stepped onto the campus for even a second you would notice the huge diversity of our school. We have everything you could ask for in a school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am a Music Education Major at Florida Atlantic University. I have performed with a majority of the ensembles and enjoyed my experiance and my professors as well. The school itself is small when it comes to its image but the school has great teachers and a nice quiet campus. If you enjoy a quieter community when it comes to learning Florida Atlantic University could be the place for you. Go Owls. :D
Am enjoying being here The people on campus keep to their prospective Majors primarily so if you are a Music Major you will primarily be around music oriented people except in genral education classes. Not to say you won't see other people as well.
Bang for the buck Florida Atlantic's classes are some of the least expensive in Florida. My monthly tuition is significantly cheaper then the other schools nearby.
Tips for prospective students Remember wherever you decide to go your education is based off of your own drive to study and do well. My advice is to really pick a field of study you enjoy so at least your happy with what your doing and you will want to go to school. It has worked for me so far.
Great for these types of students People who like smaller classrooms, Quiet campus(communter school), The beach is about ten minutes away, consistent weather and professors that are generally fun and effective.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Up here in Jupiter Florida on the John D. MacArthur Campus of FAU, the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College is a shining example of higher education, with an average class size of 16 students per class professors have individual 1 on 1 time to offer all students. Unlike larger schools, the HC professors ARE your advisors and focus you on the path that will challenge and expand your mind the farthest. Other honors programs such as UF, FSU, UM, and UCF only require 5-10% honors classes, the HC at FAU requires 85% honors classes, an internship and study abroad.
Am enjoying being here Campus life is amazing. Ultimate frisbee games on Tuesday and Sunday every week, with a few disc's thrown in between. The Resident Student Association as well as Student Government is really important up here as we are a satellite campus off of Boca Raton. The small class sizes transfer over towards a tight knit student community. The Dorms are fantastic with an all star staff of R.A.'s and a superb housing director, Sean Pierce. The suites are set up with four individual rooms including a dresser, desk, and extra long twin ben, a suite shower and a suite bathroom. The common area comes provided with a couch, armchair, coffee and end table, as well as an entertainment unit. Rooms A and D on the ends of both buildings 1 and 2 have double windows which offers better light and view of the famed Abaco, open fields, the courtyard, and playing fields. All are sufficient for nosey residents. :P
Bang for the buck Living on campus is expensive but well worth it. Just in being accepted you are awarded with a biannual Honors College Foundation scholarship with a minimum level of $2,500 a year. With my classes almost completely covered by 100% Bright Futures, the HC scholarship and most of my Florida Pre-paid covers the expense of the the required meal plan, Student loans are almost unnecessary.
Tips for prospective students A car is a good idea, as the nearest Publix is roughly a mile and a half away, and the nearest entertainment, other than periodic baseball games at Rodger Dean Stadium, is at PGA or Indiantown, both of which are several miles away. Other than a car, you should be set.
Great for these types of students All types of students. If you like to be left alone, the small HC will provide enough privacy so that you can study in peace. But if you are a lively partier, the HC does not deny. The bonds you make with friends up here are stronger than the average dormitory's because you see everyone at least once a day, especially in the dining hall.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Florida Atlantic University is a great University. It is a public university in Boca Raton, Fl. The teachers are very good and as long as you put in the effort then you will do great here. The university has six other campuses located in the Florida cities of Dania Beach, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, and in Fort Pierce at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution.
Am enjoying being here I love living here at FAU. Once known strictly as a commuter school, in recent years Florida Atlantic has made an effort to increase its academic and research standings while also evolving into a more traditional university. There are a lot more options for living on campus now and most all the buildings are VERY new. another perk of this university is being five minutes away from the beach! it's a very relaxing environment.
Bang for the buck For in-state students the cost is basically the same as any other public university. right now I'm only paying 2,000$ out of pocket, because i do not want to take loans, but if i were to take all of my financial aid I would not have to pay a single thing! So i think it's a good price to live here.
Tips for prospective students some tips i would give is pack everything neatly and organized! move in day is HOT and crazy busy! bring lots of water! also you may want to bring a bike or a board because it's nice to ride and enjoy the weather. another tip is too buy used books or look online for books because buying in the bookstore can get very pricey. study a lot and you'll be fine!
Great for these types of students It's great for beach loving students. students who want to live in a relaxing environment. Students who love the hot weather and especially students looking to go into marine biology because there is a great department for that major here. one of the best. also dedication is key. you need to study to get good grades and stay off academic probation!

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students FAU is a great school with a beautiful campus. Expect most people you meet to live a distance away, it is a commuter school after all. It is also a very friendly campus, and if you are lost and need help, don't hesitate to ask someone. The best place to park when it is busy is parking garage II. Many GenEd classes will fill up quickly, so try to do your orientation as early as you can to get the best schedule.
Great for these types of students Beach Bums will love FAU because of its close proximity to the beach. Also great for those with busy schedules, it offers online classes for a wide range of courses.

Great for these types of students Great for students who live around the area not out of state students it doesn't have much to offer.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Nice social and academic environment. Needs to better facilitate student to faculty communication. Needs to provide more resources.
Tips for prospective students Stay actively involved in school activities, you never know when a special opportunity might arise that might help you. Don't be afraid to communicate with teachers and stay on top of things. Academic Advisors are extremely helpful and you should always feel free to contact one for your intended major!
Academic Rigor Overall, the classes I've taken have gone pretty well. There were a few teachers that I personally didn't like, but in all I've found my academic experience to be fairly positive. The classes I've taken aren't too difficult, but be prepared to do coursework, otherwise don't be surprised if you're not doing well grade-wise.
Dorm Life I'm not an on-campus living student, but the opinions I've heard are generally mixed.
Food and Dining The food on campus is alright, I prefer the Chinese or Mexican Cantina, myself. They're also getting rid of Quizno's and putting in a Subway from what I understand, which will be nice. There's a Wendy's, an Einstein Bagel's, a Jamba Juice smoothie place, two Outtakes which are kind've like 7/11 stop-n-shop's. There is also a Dunkin' Donuts, Coyote Jacks, Papa Johns, Chick'n'Grill, and a cafeteria. Nice variety.
What to do for fun Go to a football game! There's a stadium now! Not to mention countless events and goings ons. There was a Mardi Gras and there's been gaming nights and music and more going on in the Breezeway. Its got a lot to do.
Bang for the buck Slightly pricey sometimes, and while I haven't had too many problems I've had friends complain about costs and such here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Breezeway is where a lot of action happens, advertisers, vendors, random events, you name it. The free speech yard in front of the Social Science building has also been home to some unusual sightings: mostly religious activism.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences As a student in Florida Atlantic University's Honors College, I can honestly say that I would not want to be at any other school. The campus that I'm on is small, so the community is tightly knit, creating an exceptional university experience. The professors here at the Honors are incredible, are always available for further guidance, and show a legitimate interest in the success of their students.
Tips for prospective students Definitely consider FAU's Honors College. I'm not a fan of the Boca Campus, but the Jupiter Campus is beautiful, clean, and welcoming.
Academic Rigor The classes in the Honors College require a lot from the students in both workload and critical thinking skills.
Dorm Life Our RSA club on campus is exemplary, encouraging students to get involved. The RA's all care about their residents. The residence halls themselves are always clean and feel more like apartments than dorms.
Food and Dining The staff in the Dining Hall know most of the students and will actively engage you in conversation while serving food that is far superior to that of other Dining Halls.
What to do for fun Campus Recreation, Program Board, and MacRSA are always hosting programs that are great to attend. Our campus is also only 5 minutes away from Juno Beach.
Great for these types of students Students who really care about learning and want to be involved in campus life. As the Honors College only has about 300 students, it's easy to maintain close relationships with professors and other students.
Greek Life There is no Greek Life on the Jupiter Campus, though students can be part of a fraternity or sorority based on the Boca Campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Florida Atlantic University consists of a relaxing environment but can be fun also. The social life is what you make of it, as are the studies. FAU is a great college to attend.
Tips for prospective students Go to class and study! Make the best of your college experience. Don't mope around and complain. Instead go out and have fun.
Academic Rigor The academics aren't that difficult so if you want to actually learn, you will have to put the work in.
Dorm Life The dorm life is pretty laid back and many complain that there isn't much to do, but these people simply aren't trying. There is plenty to do, just be creative and have an open mind.
Food and Dining The Cafeteria isn't the best but there are plenty of places off campus to eat that are still affordable.
What to do for fun Go to the beach, Miami, go to the local bars and clubs, or play a board game or poker in the dorm.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Florida Atlantic University is a very diverse and active campus. It is partly a commuter school, so weekends can be a bit dead. During the week however, you will never find yourself bored.
Tips for prospective students Have back-up food in your dorm, because on the weekends when only the cafe is open and your sick of the food, you have something good to eat. It is good to bring a car to campus, because there is not much within walking distance surrounding campus. It is helpful if you need to go grocery shopping or want to go to the beach, etc. Do not buy your books before the first week of class, unless you expect to return some because professors do not always use the book or might require you to buy it from a certain place. You must be outgoing in order to have fun; the fun is not going to come to you.
Academic Rigor Classes are not that hard. As long as you show up and study regularly, you will do fine. For tough undergrad classes, such as Microbio or Calculus, there is supplemental instructuion, which is extra practice in a classroom with a former stuIdent of that class who earned an A. It is extremely helpful.
Dorm Life Most of the dorms are very clean and new, and most are very roomy. My double room is bigger than any other double dorm I've seen at any other campus. Housing always has activities going on for students living in the dorms.
Food and Dining After a while, the Caf gets old. However there is a food court with Quiznos, Wendys, Papa Johns, a mexican grill, a chinese place, and a convenience store; these are open during the weekdays. However, that can get expensive, so I always have snacks and meals in my dorm room.
What to do for fun Miami is only 40 minutes away, and on weekends there are party buses that go to the clubs down there. Also, West Palm Beach is not far, and if your 21 you can get into clubs up there. The beach is extremely close, about 10 minutes. There is an ice skating rink about 20 minutes away. As for on-campus, there are intramural sports all year long, and occasionally there will be a little carnival or special event on the housing lawn.
Bang for the buck The campus bookstore is VERY expensive, but there are plenty of other options online and off campus to buy, rent, and sell books.
Clubs and Activities There are numerous activities and clubs on campus, and most of them are free. Many have a club fee, usually around 20 dollars for the semester or year. We have everything from Rock Climbing Club to Art Club to Photography Club, even a Quidditch team. As long as you put yourself out there, you will never be bored.
Greek Life We do not have greek housing, but greek life is very active on campus. Everyday on the breezeway, you will find tables sponsered by fraternitys and sororities who are promoting their cause or upcoming event. As far as I know, because I am not in a sorority, it seems like greek like is very active. I see friends and other students coming and going to greek events.
Campus Safety There has never been a time where I feel unsafe on campus, even when I am walking across campus at 11:30 PM after work. For those who do not want to walk because they feel unsafe, we have NightOwls, a free golfcart service that runs all over campus on weeknights until 11:30 PM. There are also the yellow poles placed everywhere on campus that have emergency buttons that contact the police. They will send a unit out to your exact location.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences FAU Has grown immensely since my freshman year. It is still a smaller school compared to UF, FSU, and UCF, but this is also nice because you can easily walk the whole campus to get to classes. You will get what you put into it.
Tips for prospective students You should go to college knowing what you want out of it so that no time is wasted.
Academic Rigor Depending on your major, after the prerequisites are finished, courses to require much more time and effort.
Dorm Life Indian River Towers is nice. You have the option of having a four single bedroom suite. hallways were always clean.
Food and Dining Cafeteria is average.
What to do for fun The beach is close by!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences FAU is so diverse and interesting. If you live in a dorm everything is in walking distance.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking forward to come to FAU, make sure you are financially secured. The reason I say this is because everything on campus is fun and great, but everyone would agree the fees are too much. So make sure you have scholarships and grants.
Academic Rigor Far as the studies go, most teachers lecture and then give exams. The classes are good not to hard to were you can't understand.
Dorm Life The dorm are nice and pretty spacious, but the cost isn't nice!
Food and Dining The food in the cafe can be great sometimes and other times its not so great, but to make up for it we have nice restaurants on campus. Such as papa john, dunkin donuts, Starbucks, Wendy's, multiple outtakes, quiznos sub, chick n grill, jow jing, salsarita's. Bad news is these places are not open on the weekends except dunkin donuts (Sundays). Good news soon FAU will be opening up a Subway.
What to do for fun FAU always find ways to keep students entertained a few ways are parties, comedy shows, talent shows, and guest speakers. The art museum is always having something there to showcase. There is a recreation center to do different sports and activities. And if you stay in a dorm the RAs have different events that can be fun.
Bang for the buck If you are a student, then your OWL card can get you into any event for free, that also includes the recreation center. The events can be anything from a game to a guest speaker speaking. If you need any help or tutoring then it is free also.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One tradition that's unusual is at the games people hold up their hands in form of an owl. You make an O with your index finger and thumb and make a W with your other three fingers.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs and if you don't like any of the clubs you can create your own. The activities are pretty interesting.
Campus Safety The FAU police are always around. If you have a late class or you are going somewhere and its late, you can call Night Owls (somewhat like a taxi cab) a person on a golf cart will pick you up and take you where you need to go.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences FAU is a beautiful campus but more comparable to a ghost town than a buzzing metropolis of a college. It is exspensive but if you can overlook the fact that everyone leaves on weekends, it is a decent school.
Tips for prospective students Get involved in campus activities, because there are plenty, and your time here will be quite enjoyable.
Academic Rigor The Professors here aren't bad. Most that I have had know what they are talking about and they are very open to discussion. I have never taken advantage of office hours but they all have them.
Dorm Life To me it is neither here nor there. I live in Innovation VIllage. The newest dorm on campus. It is a beautiful building on the outside. Inside don't expect much privacy, the walls and ceilings are paper thin. You hear EVERYTHING and by everything i mean people running in the halls, suitemates doing god knows what in their rooms, conversations from other suites. Yea, its serious.
The North building has its own washer and Dryer in suite so it is definitely a plus.Food and Dining There are places to eat on campus but to bad most of them close by like 6.
What to do for fun If you do not have a car or someone to drive you off campus do not expect an easy commute for fun. There are plenty of activities, events and other things to do on campus but this school has little team spirit so not alot of students actually go to them.
Ive been to plenty of these events, it honestly is what you make of it. There have been quite a few fun gatherings, roller skating party, glow in dark party, carnival, Movie night, Comedy shows, and of course the Glo Party at the beginning of the year.Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Raccoons. We should officialy change our mascot from the Owls... to the Raccoons. They are everywhere at night.
Clubs and Activities There are PLENTY of activities and Clubs.
Greek Life The Greek life here is growing. Plenty of different chapters on campus, Its not a party school per say with greek houses but there are Greeks walking around. [NPHC, IFC, CRA, Etc]
Campus Safety There is a nightly escort service set up to drive you around campus called, Night Owls. People mainly use it because they are to lazy to walk. But for hte most part campus is safe there is always police cars driving around campus. There are broken lights and dark areas though... I am honestly more afraid of being attacked by a Raccoon then I am a person.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences FAU is a great school if you are looking for diversity. If you are used to a small school then FAU is your place because it is a small campus and has small class sizes. The help at FAU is great, all the employees really care and they want you to ask for help.
Tips for prospective students In your first semester do not be afraid to ask for help. In the long run it will come in handy. Also, do not put too much on your plate. If you want a job I suggest you take the first half of the semester focusing on school so you get a feel of what is expected and then later in the semester if you feel you can handle a job then I say go for it! Form a relationship with your professors it can help when determining your grades and they can help with teacher recommendations for the future. One last thing, form a relationship with your academic advisor. They seriously do help A LOT!
Academic Rigor I feel the academic rigor is fair. It can be difficult but you need to put in the effort. With enough effort classes can be a breeze. If you always review your stuff then you're fine in class. The professor's tell you exactly what is expected so there are no surprises.
Dorm Life Dorm life is pretty expensive. But for your first year I feel its better than living off campus. You have an easier time forming relationships with people. Also, it is super convenient. After class if you have time to spare before your next class then you can go chill in your room maybe review or catch up on a TV show on your laptop. It makes the transition from high school to college a little more comfortable.
Food and Dining I am not the biggest fan of the food on campus. But I haven't heard of any school having a 5 star dining. What I can compliment though is they have choices. You can a sandwich, pizza, burgers, chicken, rice or anything they happen to be serving that day. You're not limited to just one option which is good. They even have options for those who are vegetarian. I'm not vegetarian but some days I just have to stop and eat some because it's so good. Also, besides just the dining hall, you have the food court. The food court contains a Quizno's, Wendy's, Papa John's and other fast food places when you're on the go which has been very convenient on some occasions. Not just that but there are several convenient stores located around campus which as it says in the name it's convenient when you get those late night munchies.
What to do for fun FAU always has an event going on. Also, there are plenty occasions to get FREE FOOD! Who doesn't love free food. One time after class MOE's was giving away free nachos. How cool is that? At the beginning of the Fall semester they have a foam party which is where you dance in a whole bunch of foam. It was so much fun. They have talent shows and pageants. Also comedy shows and magic shows. There is always something to do on campus so you are never bored.
Clubs and Activities There are so many clubs to choose from. You can even make your own club if you want. For every bodies different interests you can find a club for it or make your own and this gives you the opportunity to form new relationships.
Campus Safety Campus safety is actually pretty safe. The cops are always on the watch and you never have to worry about walking alone on campus at night.

The books are way too expensive and everything seems to be a racket.Tips for prospective students Buy your books off campus or on-line.
Look into forgiveness if you fail a class because no one that works there will tell you about.
Always check and recheck with your advisor and financial aid because they always forget to tell you about something that is beneficial to your graduating quicker.Academic Rigor Classes can be very difficult so don't take more than 4 a semester.
I would not recommend taking summer classes for a second language, they just go too fast.Food and Dining I love all of the accessible restaurants that they have on the campus.
What to do for fun They constantly have activities going on like concerts, movies, career days, free BBQ's etc.
Bang for the buck They have a swimming pool on campus, tennis courts, a huge gym with all the lastest high tech equipment you could ever want. A new massive stadium was just built, if you like football. They also have their own movie theater. FAU is its own little town you would never even need to leave the campus for anything. The bookstore has all the new clothing designs.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus People even go fishing in the canals around the school. I'm sure there is way more stuff to do I just don't know about it because I don't live their and I'm older than most of the students.
Great for these types of students They have an awesome theater and restaurant combined called the Livingroom theater and it serves liquor too.
Greek Life Unsure I'm Italian.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i really like fau. iv'e been going here for a semester and a half and it has become my home. i think fau consistently is on the strive to become a great university.
Tips for prospective students get ready for a big change! if your not from the area you might need some time to adjust like myself. just make sure to keep yourself updated for all the deadlines and try to get everything done ahead of time!
Academic Rigor i've only gone into my second semester at fau so for the most part m classes are pretty basic. but i had no idea how much time i needed to study until i got my fist exam grades back!
Dorm Life i really like my dorm. i have plenty of space but i'm not use to the small twin size bed or the paper thin walls. its a great place to transition from high school to college, but i can't to move into my own apartment! plus the inconvenience of not having a kitchen and having to pay for a meal plan really sucks.
Food and Dining the food is good and there is a variety most of the time. but after a semester of the same food it gets kind of old. they try to switch up during the week but i'm a picky eater so i stick to most of the same stuff. the deserts are amazing! and they have plenty of options for drinks! and fau also offers a food court during the weekend which includes a wendys, papa johns, quiznos, a chinese place and more. we also have a dunkin doughnuts, starbucks, and einstein bagels on campus.
What to do for fun for the most part there is always something going on on campus throughout the week. you will also get handed flyers on your way to class about events going on off campus. not to mention fau has a theater that plays foreign movies!
Bang for the buck i really think i get my moneys worth for the most part. fau provides mostly everything i could need. it would be better if the food places stayed open on the weekends for people like me who live on campus. but fau provides a beautiful gym and pool so i'm happy!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus we have a cool social science building on campus that people call the green spaceship building that actually looks like one too!
Clubs and Activities fau has so many different clubs and organizations that are often advertised during the school day in the breezeway! there is something for everyone!

Tips for prospective students do your research on the area. the school is wonderful, however the boca raton area is very expensive.
Dorm Life there are many options for all kinds of students.
Food and Dining i do not use the food and dining plans.

Bang for the buck tuition is very reasonable. what will cost the most is living, both on and off campus is very expensive.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences a great school for those wanting to get required classes out of the way before transferring somewhere else. fau seems like high school all over again, lots of students there just because they were able to get in. the performing arts and visual arts classes are below average, you only get two years of actually taking art/performing art classes.
Tips for prospective students fau is best for getting required classes out of the way. once you're done with those, i would recommend transferring to another school to complete your degree. there are great classes at fau, but it's a school still in the infant stage, it needs to grow and become more experienced.
Academic Rigor the academics aren't that great, i would compare them to taking ap classes in high school. there are great professors there, however i find a majority of them teach at a slower pace to help the students who are slow learners. it makes it difficult to appreciate class when you're a fast learner.
Dorm Life i lived off campus, however a large majority of my fellow classmates complained about the dorms. fau accepts way too many students for the amount of dorms that they have, thus making many students live at hotels for the first month of school.
Food and Dining the on campus dining is average, they do have outside food chains though, such as wendy's and mcdonalds. the main cafeteria has the same food all the time, not to mention it being overpriced.
What to do for fun there are fun things to do, but you'll have to look off campus. south florida is a great place if you know where to look.
Bang for the buck it's average, tuition is typical, but it doesn't make up for the lack of serious college classes. it seems like a repeat of high school all over again.
Great for these types of students students who are staying close to home the first two years, and then will transfer somewhere else.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences it is a medium sized school with clean facilities. the city is safe and it's starting to gain more recognition and credibility with new and growing majors like engineering and expanding the availability of online class
Tips for prospective students if your going to take public transportation make sure the afternoon timing is flexible the afternoon and evening buses don't always run on schedule. the campus needs more computer labs, the library is always full so bring your own computer.
Academic Rigor be prepared to spend at least three times the amount of time studying as you do in class. if your a math major be prepared to learn by theory more than anything.
Food and Dining if you have allergies, like soy or wheat, be prepared to stay somewhere you can cook yourself, it is very hard to find allergy friendly food on campus however there is a whole foods store across glades rd. for grocery shopping.
What to do for fun there are a diverse amount of clubs but if you take public transportation the bus from the train to fau doesn't run on weekends so be prepared to drive or meet friends who will be willing to drive you to afternoon club activities.
Bang for the buck the tuition and fees have risen by a third in the year i've been there and the fee for a replacement owl card has tripled so if your on a tight buget you may want to take prerequisite classes at a community or local college or you can be a transient student at fau taking classes at pbsc but still being a fau student.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences florida atlantic university is a great university. i attend the boca raton campus and with all of the new construction (dorm buildings and football stadium) it is really exciting to be an owl. fau is also located in a premier location in south florida and the professors are great.
Tips for prospective students prospective students should work really hard in high school to maintain a high gpa. as fau becomes more popular and more successful it can start to narrow its field of applicants, so make sure you are performing well in the classroom.
Academic Rigor the classes are challenging and the professors are fair. show up to class and be prepared to learn. the professors will do their job, and you will have to do your job.
Dorm Life dorm life was really fun, you are in walking distance to all of your classes and everything the campus has to offer, such as: the gym, cafeteria, student services building, clinic, and auditorium for comedic relief often by professional comedians and other acts as well.
Food and Dining the cafeteria is good with common things such as: chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, fries and subs. but, if you go during specials you get theme cooked meals and great food. one simple example would be the thanksgiving theme where they will serve turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, and stuffing. they have plenty of other themes and plenty of great food during specials.
What to do for fun there is a boomers, arcade/play zone type of atmosphere, that is extremely close. also theaters, clubs and bars for the student life.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences the school is big and a little impersonal. a commuter campus, so connecting with others is hard. a determination to achieve is essential for success here.
Tips for prospective students be prepare for challenges. like professors and staffs that are unwilling to help. know the online resources very well. it's hard at first to connect to others but there are a few very nice people there.
Academic Rigor the sciences are difficult but not impossible to pass. the testings is a little tricky and can be unfair at times. but there are numerous professors willing to help you understand the concept. talking is a favorite pass time there.
Dorm Life can't be a judge of that. because i never lived on campus. but heard it's pretty small and social structure and guideline is lacking. need to have strong integrity to not lose yourself.
Food and Dining food is everywhere here, even in the library. yep. every choice imaginable. the school cafeteria is pretty good. and there are some staple fast food services. cost is not cheap. it does cost more for things on campus. bidget.
What to do for fun there is a new rec center that offers tons of classes like spinning, zumba, etc. also many clubs and intramural sports. i personally like the amateur radio club and climbing club. the university center is loaded with game rooms and pingpong tables, billards, and more.
Bang for the buck the services here is lacking in professionalism but overall if you can ignore the sarcasm and rude attitudes, you will be okay. when you are graduating you will feel like you have finished the most hardest tournament ever created.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the spaceship building is a cool place to relax and read. i like the t buildings they feel like they are miles away from campus. but since this university is made up of numerous other campuses, it's never the same.
Great for these types of students focus, and driven. a very diverse school, so a desire to success is required.
Clubs and Activities you would need to seek out the clubs you like but finding them is the only hard part because most clubs want members and would be very willing to tell you about their clubs. activities are varied and numerous.
Greek Life their is some.
Campus Safety commuter campus so safety is provided but you still need to be aware of your surroundings. services like night owls and emergency phone booths are available. night owls is a service where someone takes you to your car to a building, so your not walking campus alone at night.

Live on campus if at all possible, the dorms are nice and the convenience is superb. Finally register for classes as soon as possible so you don't end up with an awful schedule.
Academic Rigor They will teach you what you need to know without placing to much stress on you. If you get good professors you will do great, remember it's all about the professor. Finally, to get good grades you do have to study, this college isn't a breeze.
Dorm Life They could be a little cleaner, but they are nice and spacious compared to most colleges. The best part is roommates, they can become life long friends. Finally the convenience is unbeatable, your classes and food are all right their.
Food and Dining The cafeteria is the cafeteria... I doubt its delectable no matter where you go. The Starbucks, however, has the best location and is wonderful. Finally the breezeway has a great Mexican restaurant!
What to do for fun The beach is right there! Did I say the beach is right there? Because it is. Also their is fantastic restaurants and shopping near by.
Bang for the buck Its a pretty campus, palm trees, green grass, no litter. The classes are good and so are the dorms. To build a house on property this close to the beach would cost a ton, so a college here is definitely worth it. Not to mention we have an awesome brand new stadium!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I transfered here from another florida university and have loved every minute of it. The teachers want you to learn and teach with that in mind. What you put in, determines what you will get out of it.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Triple A rating courses and professors.
Am enjoying being here Totally, the environment and the campus people is just great. I get to know people from all over the world. The infrastructure is great, and there are other projects underway. The new football stadium is awesome. It is just a very nice place.
Bang for the buck I don't think there is another university around with the same quality for the same price.
Tips for prospective students The key for success anywhere is finding what you would really like to do. After your goal is set then you just got to have limitless perseverance, patience and keeping focus in what you are pursuing.
It is not that easy keeping all those 3 things together in the long run but is not impossible, trust me, I know what I'm talking about.Great for these types of students Anyone who want to take new challenges and step above, without breaking your pocket or your bank.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I attend FAU's Honors College in Jupiter, Florida and courses here at taught on par with Ivy league Universities. My Bio professor is from John Hopkins University and and I many opportunities to meet with my professors and get one on one learning from them.
Am enjoying being here Jupiter is a great place to live and the beach is within walking distance. If only it weren't so expensive to have fun, it would have 5 out of 5 stars.
Bang for the buck The Honors college offers numerous scholarships including the Flaggler Scholarship which is essentially a free ride. Many of my friend who go here don't pay a dime and sometime have money left over after all their scholarships are in.
Tips for prospective students It's not too hard to get into Honors College and you really do learn A LOT more than you would if you go to the main campus or a community college. Just make sure you come here to STUDY!
Great for these types of students The honors college at FAU is great for student who like small colleges, like hand on learning, and might want to do research in biology or chemistry for Scripps and Max Plank are right next to our campus and hire interns from our school all the time.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot FAU has some great professors, I am a chemistry major and recommend professor Huchital to any new freshman. ALWAYS study right after class, that's the one thing I wish I heard before I started school. ALWAYS! NEVER FORGET TO STUDY! It will help in the next class and for the exams.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love it at FAU! I live on campus and love that it is quiet on the weekends. There are sudy lounges everywhere so you don't have to walk all the way to the library to get some peace and quiet. The RAs are really fun and always have events planned, I don't think there has been one day without an event of some sort.
Bang for the buck Now, FAU does offer a lot of free activities, students get in free to all the sports games, a lot of clubs give away free tee-shirts, and there is always free food somewhere. However, the events and stuff are not that nice, so I feel like 5,000 a semester is a little much.
Tips for prospective students ALWAYS STUDY SOON AFTER CLASS AND GO TO THE SI SESSIONS!
Great for these types of students It is great for students that don't like the party atmosphere. There is a lot of partying, don't get me wrong, but not as much pressure. It is quiet on the weekends and you don't feel like you HAVE to party to be around friends.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot You can learn a lot here, but it is completely up to you. Go to class, take good notes, and really get into the classes. They offer really interesting ones and with hard work, it's worth it. The value of knowledge is definitely more rewarding then just going through the classes and memorizing materials. It can be a great experience and you can learn a lot from this University if you make a point to get involved/interested in what you're learning.
Am enjoying being here I like being here a lot. There are many places to hang out on and around campus and good food places. The people are nice for the most part and willing to talk to you and give you advice if you just ask; never met a mean person on campus yet. There is a diverse student body as well and sometimes you can find some activities going on that promote different causes such as Going Green or Respect for Women. Not only will these rallies usually come with some cool, free stuff, they also will promote a good message by doing a presentation as well as free food!
Bang for the buck If you get a scholarship, it's worth it, especially the quality of some of the professors here. If you pick the right ones, it is definitely a great value for the money. Life lessons you learn here will be worth it because they will stick with you way past graduation.
Tips for prospective students Go to class! Most students have a hard time transferring between high school and college and forget the importance of doing their work. They have more options and more independence so they find it hard to practice self discipline and because of this some people spend the rest of their years here trying to raise their GPA from mistakes they made Freshman year. Just stay on top of assignments, break them down and stay motivated. If you stay on top of everything, you won't have any anxiety later on about doing it all at once.
Great for these types of students Great for all types. The school is very diverse. Everyone is pretty much accepted here as long as you are nice and willing to contribute.

Am enjoying being here I've made the best of friends so far, and the campus' atmosphere is just really incredible
Bang for the buck I'm an out of state student, so I pay triple what Florida residents pay
Tips for prospective students GO TO CLASS, go to Supplemental Instruction for classes that are a struggle
Great for these types of students People who love the atmosphere of South Florida, people who love the beach, people who want a nice campus, people who never shared a bedroom before, people who live in Florida, people who like other people from up North (there's a lot of NY NJ and CT people)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned a lot by going to FAU,. From things pertaining to my major to important things in life.
Am enjoying being here FAU is what you make it. If your involved, you will have a great time and meet great people. If you just keep to yourself, you will think its boring.
Bang for the buck Expensive but far from the most expensive in Florida. And you can always find something free, from food to scan trons.
Tips for prospective students Find a club and get involved
Great for these types of students Go-getters, proactive
