Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I started attending this school the semester after I graduated high school and believed that it was relatively easy. The first semester, based on what you take, is a big review of high school. I did learn some new things but most of it was a reminder.
Did enjoy being here The campus was very pretty. They just now rebuild a new building that is where the bookstore is and where kids hang out. The reason I did not enjoy being here was because it didn't have the college feel. Although, it is a community college!
Bang for the buck I believe you get a great deal for going to this college. You are basically paying less than half of what other people are paying to go to a state school and learn the same thing.
Tips for prospective students Become involved in activities that excite you. Be assertive in making friends because in college, no one is making you create a community for yourself. Get to school early enough to find a good parking spot, or any parking spot at that.
Great for these types of students Homebody's, Likes smaller crowd setting, Likes to get school done and get off campus, Likes a very diverse setting, and someone looking for a cost effective college.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I learned a great deal. From experience I had some wonderful, weird yet interesting teachers. LOL!!! In college period, regardless of 2 year or 4 year, you will learn a lot. For those of you who make the best out of your college experience. It is also best that you take notes and get familar with your professors. I.e, their methods of teaching, what they tolerate and going above the call of duty. Pays off in the long run.
Did enjoy being here At first I didn't enjoy being at GPC due to the fact I felt I should've been enrolled at a University. : P. Yet I can say looking back that it helped shape who I am today. What did I know then, I was only 18. Didn't really feel I got the college experience that I wanted. Since its a community college.
Bang for the buck A plus for those who may not be ready for the $15,000+ tuition, that you would get at a 4 year. In state students save a lot. Example, a semester I was $1,117. Talk about savings!!!!
Tips for prospective students It will feel like a review (for those of you who paid attention in high school) with some of the courses you take. Yet don't slack off just because you know the information. You can easily fall behind in class especially in college. Teachers don't give you scantrons, you will have to buy them from the vending machine (I know it's a bit much). All teachers aren't the same *key. Make friends, get involved, GPC ALWAYS have something going on so participate.
Great for these types of students Students who are preparing to transfer to a 4 year instituition. Difficult Nursing Program, Dental Assisting and Associate Degree.

Categories Rating Comments Am enjoying being here This is a college that you go to just to get your education. I only go to the Alpharetta campus and there is not as much of a college social life on that campus.
Tips for prospective students Perimeter is a great school to get a ground base for school. I highly recommend it to anyone. Especially those who cannot afford to go to their first choice college. This gives you two affordable years to find scholarships and grants.
Great for these types of students Any student who wants an affordable education and is willing to put effort in their future.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences GPC is a small college that is almost reminiscent of high school. It doesn't feel like a college. Definitely ideal for those who have trouble transitioning.
Tips for prospective students Join a lot of clubs! Always, always, always write your teacher's email down. iCollege is almost always down, don't expect it to always be up and running.
Academic Rigor Depending on what classes you take, GPC can be easy or can be really hard. It depends on your professors.
Dorm Life No dorm life. It's a 2-year school! I heard that one campus has dorms, but mine doesn't.
Food and Dining Over-priced and okay. Much better than high school cafeteria food, but not by much.
What to do for fun Clubs. Hang out in the student center. Talk to people. Work out.
Bang for the buck I'm paying only about $600 p/semester thanks to my scholarship. However, not all of your classes will count as equivalents should you plan to transfer. Look into that! I ended up taking a math class I didn't even need at the advisement of my counselor.
Great for these types of students Those who have trouble transitioning, aren't quite ready to be away from home yet, those who like a small college feel.
Clubs and Activities Haven't had the pleasure to go to any club meetings yet, but the Baptist College Ministry at my campus is really welcoming, and the Student Government does a great job around campus with welcome week.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am making all good grades and the classes are interesting.
Am enjoying being here The teachers are very helpful and it's nice to stay to close to home. It's a good way to transition from high school to college.
Bang for the buck The cost is the best part about perimeter. You can get all your core classes done at a fraction of the cost of other colleges and universities. Then once finished with your associates degree at Perimeter, the credits are easily transferred a larger school of your choice.
Tips for prospective students If you want to save money and want to do well in school with out all the distractions of a large university, this is the place for you.
Great for these types of students Do your work. Respect your teachers. Get involved in as many extra curricular activities as possible.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot A lot of the work is review from high school, but don't let that get to you. The professors move at a fast pace and they expect you to keep up. They have no mercy, even if this is your first semester in college. It's easy to make friends here, and you will meet people from every part of the world and of every age.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy my time at Perimeter, more or less. I had my choice of several other schools, but I could not afford them so I was stuck with GPC. In the long run, I know I made the better decision instead of taking out a loan. There's not a college feel to it, but there's always something to do.
Bang for the buck DEFINITELY. There's no way that you can find a better deal. It's a great plan for someone who plans to transfer to a 4 year school (like me). Take your prerequisites or get an associate and transfer out. They even have the TAG with many schools in Georgia and even a few out of state. That TAG will save you! The money that you could be spending to learn the same things you would be at another 4 year university will be in your pocket.
Tips for prospective students Stay on top of things, stay organized with dates. Go to class! You won't have massive lecture halls to hide in, the class sizes are very small. Make friends with the people around you, it makes things a lot easier. Keep an open mind when you talk to people. Your classmates are the most diverse you can imagine, ranging from age to ethnicity to background. Everyone has a story to tell, listen to them.
Great for these types of students Cash-strapped students, those with a family, looking to meet a diverse crowd, focused on education and education only

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Experiencing it for the first semester was great. I am doing much better in college than I did in high school so it is better.
Am enjoying being here The campus I am currently at is nice and quiet on most days and lively on campus on some days.
Bang for the buck Since I do not have much money at the moment, it has help me by being good price on the tuition and on my books.
Tips for prospective students Just because it is a 2 year college does not mean you can slack off. Its still college and it needs to be taken seriously.
Great for these types of students Anyone who needs a way to go to college and won't have to worry as much when it comes to tuition costs.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences GPC is a school that is more affordable than many other institutions. It offers better quality classes because of the smaller class size and more 1 on 1 teacher attention. Their TAG transfer program is a big attraction that is great for ensuring that students can get into quality four year schools. Furthermore, GPC contains many good resources in their libraries and they have several campuses you can choose from to attend.
Tips for prospective students My advice to students is to visit your teachers as often as you can because they are more willing to work with you if they see that you are trying hard to do well. Also, you need to make sure you register for your classes early because spaces fill up very fast and you want to make sure you can get good classes to fit your schedule. Enroll in the TAG transfer guarantee program before you plan on transferring to another school to make sure you can get into the school of your choice.
Academic Rigor The teachers at Perimeter in general are just as good as those at other schools. They will work with you if you make an effort to go see them for help. It is a good idea to check rate my professor.com to see reviews for teachers before you sign up for their classes to make sure that their teaching style lines up with what is best for you.
Dorm Life There are no dorms at Perimeter because it is a community college but they have five different campuses for you to choose from so you don’t have to drive too far out of your way to get to school.
Food and Dining The food on campus varies for different campuses. People like the food at Newton while at Clarkston, they are conveniently located by a wide selection of food restaurants so there is no reason you should have problems with food and dining.
What to do for fun GPC clubs often host many events throughout the year to get students engaged. Events such as movie nights, club rallies, homecoming week are among a few of the many rewarding opportunities offered at GPC.
Bang for the buck You get your money’s worth at GPC. They frequently have events on campus for students to get involved in as well as many rewarding events and displays that take place during the year. The facilities are nicely kept and offer a wonderful library selection of books, journals, magazines and even quiet areas for your benefit.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus One interesting fact is that the Newton Campus is located in full view of a pasture with dozens of cows. Many students note that they can be quite interesting to watch.
Great for these types of students GPC is great for students who are trying to get into the experience of college before they go off to a big four year institution. Its hands-on experience allows them to have the attention they need but with the personal responsibility of getting their work done on their own. The many activities and events allows them to also get involved without having to feel overwhelmed by a big crowd in one particular group. Adults also benefit from GPC as well. Its ability to have both day and night classes allows parents and other adults to commute easier from work and school to get their classes done.
Clubs and Activities Every campus has a wide variety of clubs and activities to get involved in; from Earth club to student government. They even have a Japanese Club. GPC hosts many activities regularly including recently, the day of service for Martin Luther King Jr. day. There is something for everyone to get engaged in and it is a great way to meet new people.
Greek Life There are no fraternities or sororities at GPC because it is a 2 year institution but there are a great many clubs that give the same bonding experience for a cause that you can get otherwise.
Campus Safety Every campus has a well staffed security team that works all day to make sure that campus is safe and secure from any threats. They even send out emails to let people know when any potential danger may be occurring on campus. They work days and nights so you can feel assured leaving campus at night with protection.

Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to go to more than one campus in a semester. Not all campuses have the same classes. So if you want to have a good variety you will need to branch out.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I goto the Campus in Dunwoody, great school, some teachers are ok. GPC Dunwoody also has a student activity and like to the student to engaged with one another. Plus it is the most inexpensive 2-year college and most recognized college, so it is a good school to have been going to.
Tips for prospective students Do your research, when it comes to Financial Aid. Trust me! Also, check that the major you are completing @ GPC goes with the major of the school you plan to transfer too.
Academic Rigor Well thanks to the nursing program at GPC, the Learning Support classes do not have to take the Regents exam, which is excellent!

What to do for fun Hanging out in the B-Building is the #1 spot for all the students @ GPC Dunwoody, also on a great sunny day, the grassy area and Campus Coffee Shop.
Bang for the buck Like i said before, most inexpensive 2-year-college in Atlanta and w/ TAG. Even though tuition went up a couple hundreds, GPC's rate stayed fairly low when compared to other 2-year-colleges in the Metro Atlanta area.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences overall, the school is great for students fresh out of school and adults looking to go back to school. there are some teachers who have a passion for teaching, while others have a tendency to be less than supportive. i personally think these two years have changed my life for the better.
Tips for prospective students i recommend that students adopt effective time management skills. if you start with a positive attitude then you will most likely finish strong. be prepared to be submerged into a diversified environment. there are people from all around the world.
Academic Rigor as a student coming from a rigorous high school, this college is not too challenging. like most students, i still have to study hard, but all of the academic knowledge is just an extension of what you learn in high school.
Dorm Life there are no dorms on this campus. it is a community college for everyone.
Food and Dining the best food is extremely expensive. i recommend bringing your lunch everyday. even the vending machines are unnecessarily expensive. they occasionally serve chick-fil-a sandwiches at a certain time, but they do not last long.
What to do for fun i usually spend a lot of time in the gym. they have games such as wii, uno, ping pong, and etc. they even have dance classes, such as zumba, yoga classes, and martial arts classes that go along with you tuition fees.
Bang for the buck when it comes to events, everything is usually free. it all comes under your tuition and fees. whether its homecoming dances, health fairs, or food, its usually free.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus every semester we have some type of dance whether its homecoming, spring fling or valentine's day. every fall we host homecoming week, which includes free events throughout the week including a dance.
Clubs and Activities there are a variety of clubs and activities that can be done around campus. you'll love club rush because there's food, entertainment, and music.
Greek Life there is no greek life.
Campus Safety i have never had to experience a problem on campus. however, there is usually a campus police officer somewhere on campus. some of them are nice and polite while others have a tendency to be rude and disrespectful. it's best not to be too dependent on them.
