    I have enjoyed being a student at Halifax Community College so far. It is good that I have lived in Roanoke Rapids all my life and to be able to attend college only ten minutes from my house, I am truly going to miss the drive next fall! Halifax Community College has great programs for anyone who is in need of a degree!

    Study Hard and you can do anything!!

    Halifax Community College has many Scholarships Available to students, and also to students who are in attending certain programs at this school!

    This College does not have dorms!
    Food and Dining

    Food and Dining is not even two minute up the road which is nice! Also, Halifax Community College has a Cafeteria!
    What to do for fun

    Halifax Community College has different events each semester that students love to attend!! Its a good time to catch up with friends and get away from school work for a few!
    Bang for the buck

    Yes! Its a great school for certain programs, also, great for getting Prerequisites out of the ways to transfer to another college, like i am doing now. Especially, if you live near the area!

    Halifax Community College is right at the border of Roanoke Rapids but just does make the Weldon area.

    Its a great college to get prerequisites out of the way for transfer, and definitely for the programs that are available there.

    This college has a many of different Clubs and Activities to join!
    Greek Life

    I believe they have a couple i haven't been in the school long enough to really look into that, i not really interesting in the Greek Life, I'm just focused on the school work now.

    Its a Tobacco Free Campus and we have plenty of security around on campus.

    The instructors are hands-on and very helpful.
    Student Support Services staff is a godsend!
    HCC is very affordable and allows the student to acquire an Associates degree or acquire a great foundation as a transfer student!
    Tips for prospective students

    Take advantage of all the community college has to offer. By registering with Student Support Services I was able to receive help (as a future transfer student) and also earned extra money as a tutor!

    The classes are small in size, which allows for more one-on-one contact with instructors. I enjoyed all my classes!

    There are no dorms, as it is a community college.
    Food and Dining

    There is a snack bar...no cafeteria as there is no on-campus residency.

    Even though it is a community college, there are always activities going on for students and the public.

    A community college is the way to go if you are looking to save money the first 2 years before transferring to a 4-year university. Great education at a fraction of the cost!

    The entire staff at HCC has been very welcoming, helpful and informative. The team at HCC is friendly and has a homelike feel. It's very obvious on how much they want you to succeed and play a major part in your success.
    Tips for prospective students

    Apply early. When in doubt always ask questions. Everyone is very helpful. Hold your head high and charge!
