Categories Rating Comments Will enjoy being here Campus life and student organizations seem amazing! I don't think I will ever be bored here.
Tips for prospective students Don't be afraid to talk to an academic advisor from Kent. They are so friendly and willing to answer any questions that you have. They answered all my questions and made it really clear that Kent was for me.
Great for these types of students Students who want a big campus but not too overwhelming. Their nursing, mass communications/journalism, fashion design and visual communications (graphic design) programs are great. Also, their Honors College is amazing.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot Kent was a good place to get my undergraduate degree.
Did enjoy being here I loved the small town atmosphere of Kent. The campus is large, however, it's beautiful. Lots of green space. There are always lots of activities going on on campus all the time.
Bang for the buck I had some major troubles with the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. The problems have cost me a lot- financially, physically, emotionally. Otherwise, I think the college was relatively reasonable as far as cost to attend and housing.
Tips for prospective students Know who the student ombudsman is and how to get ahold of that person. They will be your biggest ally in the event of problems. Also, check out the secrectary for your program, these people are also wonderful resources.
Great for these types of students Active, outgoing,

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I'm currently majoring in Zoology, the professors are well educated with super communication skills. Many have great lectures but are seriously hard graders. If your nervous about getting a hard teacher check out the rate a teacher website. But dont stress, if you ever have problems with the coursework just ask your professor (most are willing to help) or check out the tutor center. Thats where I lived at. Also be aware of the T.A.'s they are still in school and just now coming into the teacher role, so most arent sure what they're doing...so just give them a break.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE KSU! There's so much too do and so many other students with interests like yours. There's groups for everything from a Zoology Conservation Club to Aviation Clubs. And not to mention Halloween and St. Patrick's Day, its CRAZY! Theres tons of fun to release the stressful homework load off, but stay FOCUSED.
Bang for the buck Tuition fees are reasonable. But room and board is EXPENSIVE, and fees are suppose to rise for Fall 2011 Semester. If you can, find an apartment or you could even rent out a room. But I do suggest that Freshman live in dorms, it gives you a chance to make friends and who knows they might even become your roommate.
Tips for prospective students Join clubs and volunteer, they give you a chance to netork and gain references. When internship/ scholarship time comes around it'll give you an advantage among others. It also increases your chance of finding a student job on campus.
Go to class some professors are sneaky & love the pop quizzes, and just have fun! College will be best time of your life.Great for these types of students Looking for a Big School in a small town.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The major that I am in (Visual Communication Design) started me out right away in classes towards my degree! I'm only in my second semester and am actively learning many essential tools and concepts of design through three classes dedicated solely to the program. Not only are the major's classes very informative and interesting, but I have also learned a lot through my diversity and core courses. My experience is that in most courses you are not bogged down with busy work (although there is some of that), but rather actively learn through each class.
Am enjoying being here It's incredible on campus! My first semester I lived on campus and it was an amazing experience. My RA planned events every week for the first few weeks I lived in my dorm, so I got to know and hang out a lot with the people in my dorm. Don't forget that they also have a 24-hour diner! It's a wonderful place to study, and the food is GREAT!
This semester I am a commuter student, and Kent State still has much to offer! The main food court is reserved for commuter students from 11 to 2 every day, so you don't have to fight as much of a line to try to get lunch on campus. There are also many commuter events, including special movie showings of new releases.
There's free access to the Recreation Center, plenty of places to eat, a beautiful campus, lots of cool places for you to study, great instructors and staff... I've loved absolutely everything about it!Bang for the buck College isn't cheap, as we all know. However Kent State offers a quality and very affordable education (in comparison to other schools).
The colleges of Fashion Design & Merchandising and Visual Communication Design are exceptional schools especially, which Kent State is very well known for.Tips for prospective students Go on a tour! Check out the campus and see for yourself how you feel about the surroundings and layout.
ALSO! Don't be afraid to make an advising appointment with the adviser for your prospective major (or majors). It's extremely helpful, and they can really give you a good idea of what you're signing up for.Great for these types of students If you are a straight A student, the Honors College at Kent State is a GREAT place to be. Their lecture halls normally contain a maximum of 20-30 people, and the professors are very cool.
If you're interested in design (Fashion Design or Graphic Design), this is the perfect place for you -- right in the middle of one of the top colleges in the nation for those fields.
People who want to be involved and make new friends: there are TONS of student organizations as well as student activities (including karaoke, yoga classes, movie showings, etc).
People who like having open spaces - there are places for you! The campus is very spread out and open with lots of cool places to hang out outside playing football, frisbee, or just laying in the grass.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot At Kent I am able to challenge myself at whatever level I choose. Academically for my major, I learn a fair amount, and on top of that there are thousands of other courses I can take that are not mandatory, but just great learning experiences. With 25,000+ students, they offer mostly everything.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE Kent. I live on campus for my third year, and next year I will be in a house. Although the first year living experience isn't amazing, know there are 4,000+ freshmen each year, and they all need somewhere to live! Being on campus and near by, I always have something to do. The greek system contours to whatever you are looking for, socially, academically, or honors societies. Beyond that are plenty of community service groups, and your normal society organizations such as the nearby Masonic Temple and our three local Kiwanis clubs (involved in both). When you get here, make sure you check out our 200+ student organizations. I looked at Kent and Akron, and Kent gives me a home. A place to live, thrive, and be. From schooling to learning, I have everything within a fifteen minute walk.
Bang for the buck Kent State is one of the best schools for the money. Tuition is SO low, that many people from Pennsylvania come here because of how good the education is, and the OUT OF STATE costs are cheaper than in state costs in their own state! Leading the way in many fields, having exceptional programming all around, and offering so many diverse fields, Kent State is one the best schools within the country, nationally ranking.
Tips for prospective students -Apply for scholarships! If you don't ask, you may not have it suggested. Unfortunately I wasn't told about everything that was available, nor did I ask, and I missed out. If you ask, you find everything that you can take advantage of.
-Check out different classes. Feel free to explore Kent's diverse programming options, from anthropology to zoology, and everything in between.
-Get active! Kent has hundreds of student organizations, and you can get involved in anything from fencing, to hookah clubs, to card games and volunteering.Great for these types of students Active. If you come to Kent, you can sit in your room and do nothing. But I suggest Kent if you want to get out and socialize, get out and volunteer, and get the best education you can. At Kent, you can slip by and just sneak through college...but at Kent, you can challenge yourself and make the most of all of your potential.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot This is to my knowledge the only place in the country where one may obtain a Bachelor's in Translation. The program is fabulous, and languages available at this University are diverse: French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and Swahili are all offered here. We're also known for our nursing program.
Am enjoying being here If you come to Kent State understanding that this is a small town, you will know to find ways to amuse yourself. We have a quaint and pleasant downtown area. There's a hookah bar, several bars, a rockin' hair salon called Skullz, and more! However if you want to go to big concerts and check out museums, Cleveland is the place to go. Luckily, it's only about 45 minutes away.
Bang for the buck Sometimes it's difficult to ensure that you get all of the financial aid you need, but the fin. aid office is full of friendly people, and sometimes there are department scholarships available. The quality of education is surprisingly good, although it goes up when you join the honors college.
Tips for prospective students I would recommend that you join the Facebook mentorship program, so that you will be in touch with somebody who will gladly show you around the campus and town. Be prompt and professional, especially when you first meet your professors. In terms of social etiquette it's always better to be safe than sorry! Also, it's not a bad idea to carry pepper spray around campus. I'm not saying people die around here, but robberies to happen somewhat frequently.
Great for these types of students -Foreign Language
-Physics
-Nursing
-Journalism
Note also that social activists will find student organizations that will suit their needs. There's a fairly strong Christian presence, but not one that's pushy. There are a lot of smokers at Kent State, so if walking past smokers makes you nauseous-- you probably wouldn't like it here.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am just finishing up my freshman year here at Kent and did not think that I would learn so many new, useful, and practical things my first year. I am a Crafts major and I thought all of the foundation arts classes were very instructional, as well as the academic ones.
Am enjoying being here I was slightly homesick my first semester, and that is why I recomend living in the dorms for new students. There is so much to do all the time in the dorms, you don't have time to miss Home.
Bang for the buck I live out of state, and wasn't too happy with the out of state price. Also, a lot of their older buildings are falling apart. There are squirrels living in the sculpture studio for Christ sake.
Tips for prospective students Live on campus, you won't regret it! Just judge your meal plan well before you purchase one with way too much money on it for the year, like I did. Remember, you can always add money to your plan if you run out, but once it is there, you have to use it up.
Great for these types of students Great for Fashion Students- we have one of the best programs in the world! (13th!)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot My teachers are really involved with my classes, so I never feel that distance between my instructor and I.
Am enjoying being here I love my classes and my friends. The campus is huge but you can always find someplace to claim your own.
Bang for the buck It depends on the residence hall you choose to stay in and how many credits hours you take. I love my room even though it is a tad more costly.
Tips for prospective students Do not be afraid to get involved with campus or community events. Find a organization and group of friends you can connect too. Be out and open with everyone, you never know who will become your closest friends.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State University is an overall great school to attend. Between the academics, learning facilities, overall campus environment, camaraderie among students, and possibilities for student involvement you get the best of every world. It is just a matter of whether you take advantage of the opportunities in front of you because Kent State provides them!
Tips for prospective students If you are unsure of what you want to major in, Kent State really is a great school to start at. Many of our programs are well accredited and recognized. It is all on you in college, the people you meet, the relationships you build, and the impression you leave.
Academic Rigor I have had very minor negative experiences academically. Classes are big, so if that is the only thing I would forewarn about. If you are not one to like a big group or environment this may not be for you. Generally speaking my professors throughout have always been helpful.
Dorm Life I enjoyed dorm life for the first two years. They have great food facilities throughout campus, and always enjoyed meeting up with my friend there. I would warn to no wait too long to sign up for dorming- they have had problems in the past with over booking. All in all it was a great experience, it is where you get your start and make your first few friends.
Food and Dining Every food facility has great food and a lot of variety. Convenient stores are also located throughout campus, and some are open 24/7 for our late night cravings! My favorites are Prentice wraps, and Ambrosia's milkshakes!
What to do for fun There is something for everyone here at kent. Whether your idea of fun is playing swords on campus (yes there is a group for that), joining a frat/sorority, reading a book in the library. Anything is accessible, you just have to seek it out.
Bang for the buck I cannot say enough good things about Kent State. Although I will be in my final semester, I will always look back and smile and the mistakes and memories made here. Kent State was a huge factor into shaping me into who I am today.
Greek Life Greek life is very dominant at Kent. I personally am not in one but I feel that they are a huge campus runner.
Campus Safety I have never had any incidents on campus dorming or otherwise. Kent even has the option of 24/7 safety service where you can call and be escorted/walked home if you feel uncomfortable doing so yourself at night or otherwise.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's a taste of the city, middle of nowhere, and a small town all in one. I love the layout, and the student involvement is awesome. It's also close to some bigger cities, so there's loads to do.
Tips for prospective students I'll get back to you~
Academic Rigor They seem to have any level of challenging to moderate classes. The Honors College really ups the ante, and
Dorm Life I don't know much about this. I'll be attending this fall, though, and I'll be able to update this review.
Food and Dining I'm told it's awesome.
What to do for fun There's a ton of stuff. They have concerts, speakers, their orchestra and theatre groups also perform. In addition, Cleveland is only 45 minutes away - and there's a bus! There's also a lot of group stuff going on on the weekends.
Bang for the buck For me, this is where I'll get a quality education for a reasonable price. It's got the programmes I'm looking for, with the amount of rigor and stuff to do. I'm majouring in Visual Communication Design (their graphic design majour) and Secondary Education in either English or Spanish. I've had people in both industries tell me that Kent is where it's at. An art professor at The Ohio State University told me that Kent has a wonderful art programme, and my aunt, an administrator for Dublin City Schools has had several colleagues say that Kent was a good choice for an education majour.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Some things I thought were neat:
-There's a bowling alley.
-There are call boxes where you can call and ask someone to walk you somewhere. Ex: from the library to your dorm, etc.Great for these types of students Students looking for a bit of anonymity, while still getting attention and help; students willing to work.
Clubs and Activities There's a ton. I plan to check out Glyphx, the student graphic design firm on campus.
Greek Life They have a fairly limited amount of Fraternities and Sororities. My mom and grandmother were surprised at some of the more popular ones that weren't available at Kent.
Campus Safety You see campus police often, they have call boxes for extra help if you need it, and the campus itself is set apart from the rest of the town. I felt very safe walking around.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The Fashion Design program starts you in your major classes right away. In my four semesters here, I've never had less than three fashion classes a semester. And the professors are great, they've all been in, or are still working in the industry and will give you tips of things they've learned over the years. The class sizes are generally small, so there is a lot of one-on-one time with the professors. Most of them are genuinely concerned with you getting the most out of your education and are very accommodating, as long as you ask!
Even in many LER classes, the professors do their best to make the material fun and interesting and not so much busywork. While these classes can get a little big, many professors still make themselves readily available to help you get the most from their classes.Am enjoying being here Though Kent's campus is large, you can always find some place for yourself, and with friends, you don't feel as though the school is quite so huge. The campus has lots of open space to hang out, and there are always people out and about. Between activities going on and clubs and organizations, the options are endless!
Bang for the buck The tuition and room and board aren't too terrible, but being a Fashion Design major, there are definitely a ton of added costs. You'll constantly be buying fabric, markers, and various other supplies, and that gets to be a bit much. But the Fashion school is third in the country and thirteenth in the world, so it does pay off.
Tips for prospective students Get involved! There are so many options- clubs, student organizations, volunteer opportunities. There are loads of things going on all over campus all the time as well.
And make sure you realize what Ohio weather is like! Lots of rain and snow, but on nice days, the campus is gorgeous.Great for these types of students Kent has the third best fashion school in the country, and also is big in visual communications, architecture, and nursing.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot If you are a student at Kent State University, how much effort you put into a class is reflected in your grade. There are no joke classes and every class will help you in the future. If a student studies for exams and reads the texts needed for each class, that student will learn from those classes.
Am enjoying being here The community is really great. The campus is small enough that it is like a mini town. At the same time though, the campus is large enough so that you don't feel overwhelmed by buildings and people. It's a beautiful place year round and Kent has won the Tree Campus Award three years in a row.
Bang for the buck Kent State University is a highly awarded school for a lower tuition. The fashion school was listed third in the nation and 13th in the world. The school of journalism and mass communication has a $2 million studio and award-winning news publications. A student can get real job experience here without going into debt before his or her sophomore year.
Tips for prospective students I would encourage future Kent students to talk to the advisors here. All of them are so brilliant and they will help you choose a career path for you. Even if you feel overwhelmed, they will help you with the stress as a new student.
Great for these types of students Kent State University is great for people going into fashion or journalism. These buildings are newly designed to fit the changing industries.

Categories Rating Comments Am enjoying being here I feel like I have had more fun at Kent than I've had anywhere else in my life. All and all its a great time living on campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's a nice school with a big atmosphere. It has a lot to offer for the very smart students and the party-hard students. Many different types of people go here so it's easy to make friends.
Tips for prospective students Make sure not to overload too much during your first few semesters. The classes can be easy. Just got to class and good grades usually follow.
Academic Rigor Classes are easy to begin with and slowly become harder as the years progress. Kent State is a great place for students who don't know what they want to do. The advisers are awesome for helping you!
Dorm Life Dorms can be small but others can be huge! It all depends on how much you want to pay. There are lounges everywhere so you can hang out or study.
Food and Dining Lots of food options on campus and off campus. There is a wide variety; even for vegans.
What to do for fun Downtown Kent is close by and there are buses that go to all the neighboring cities. There is a lot to do!
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus There is this giant rock that everyone paints. You'll see it if you go!
Great for these types of students Studious or the Party type of students.
Clubs and Activities Over 200 clubs. There is something for everyone.
Campus Safety Kent takes pride in its campus safety!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State is a very large and diverse campus in a rather small town. There are student groups for any interest. In many buildings one will hear no English and feel like they are studying abroad.
Tips for prospective students Go with an open mind and do not select a major without experimenting in that field - there are many basic courses for any major which will give you a feel of what one is getting into. College is the time that one does the most growing. Do not walk around the sidewalks and streets. There are always shortcuts through parking lots, parks, and other buildings. Look up the required course materials from private sellers on Amazon.com before ever going to any bookstore.
Academic Rigor If one wants to be challenged, it can happen. If one is doing a major with which they are truly interested, anything can be easy. A course taught only in fluent German through the time of Germanic tribes all the way up until the first World War is very strenuous, but it can be very easy.
Dorm Life I have never lived in a dorm at Kent, but from what I've heard from many friends at Kent and other schools (OSU, Macalester, OU, etc.), dorms get very old after the first few months. It is not often that you enjoy your roommate, even (and often times, especially) if that person is/was your best friend.
Food and Dining There are places to get food. There is the Hub in the Student center with Einstein Brothers Bagels, a Stir Fry place, a Subway, a pizza place, among others. Just outside of campus, there is anything else one can imagine: Chipotle, Wendy's, Taco Bell, etc..
What to do for fun For new students there are always evening and weekend activities to get one oriented. Enrolling in Academic groups speeds up this process. The gym is very spacious and very close to the student center. For the older students, there are many bars and even a hookah bar downtown - not far from campus.
Bang for the buck Nobody is ever happy with rising attendance prices, but that is the price one pays for an education nowadays. Study abroad is especially pricy, but there are many scholarships and in my opinion, you cannot put a price on that particular experience, no matter where you go.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Avoid the annual College Fest at all costs. It is supposed to be a celebration of the end of the semester but it always turns into a mass practice riot.
Great for these types of students If you are attracted to Turkish or Taiwanese people, there are many who come to study every semester. There are not too many hipsters at Kent. If you want to pursue a degree in Fashion or Language Translation, Kent is a very good choice.
Clubs and Activities Kent is not well known for their clubs, but they are present. There is and array of national honor societies for many majors.
There are always posters for clubs and activities in every room of every building.Greek Life Kent is not particularly well known for their Greek Life. There are fraternities and sororities on campus, but if one wants a more active greek life, Kent is not the place.
Campus Safety Kent is very safe. There are emergency call posts everywhere on campus and a subtle, but noticeable police presence. There is also a safety network so that whenever something such as a robbery happens (very rare), you are notified immediately via text message and email.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State has a wonderful English program with courses that I have found to be particularly thought-provoking and inspiring. While the campus climate regarding LGBTQ issues is decent, the university has a lot of room for growth in an effort to make students of gender and sexual minority feel more welcome. Academics are solid, but the community feels underdeveloped, especially given the historical events that have occurred here.
Tips for prospective students Explore! There is no reason to settle on a major before you are absolutely sure that the program you are in is what you want and intend to do for the rest of your life. I highly recommend living in on-campus housing for a year, then moving off-campus so that you have the experience of living with other students and meeting lots of new people. On-campus living, while rewarding, can be expensive, so further into your education I suggest finding an apartment and living with a few like-minded individuals. Past that, however, I feel as though college is a wonderful time to experience new things and get the most out of your education without forgetting to live.
Academic Rigor The classes here can be difficult, but the professors I have encountered are always available to answer questions and make sure that you are understanding the material.
Dorm Life My biggest issue with residence hall life is that it is unable to serve students who identify as transgender or gender-neutral. These students are made to live with individuals of their opposite gender-identity because of the sex on their birth certificates. This puts transgender students in dangerous situations that could be avoided with gender-neutral housing. Other than that issue, dorm life is a generally positive experience if you can get past the fact that the cost of housing is significantly more expensive than renting an apartment with more room and fewer restrictions.
Food and Dining While Kent State University has many options for dining, it is more expensive than a student like me can afford. Options are generally unhealthy unless you take a trip to the salad bar.
What to do for fun There is always an event going on, whether a concert with famous bands and other musicians, a motivational speaker, or any number of student organizations that hold their meetings each week. Student media is booming and is always a wonderful outlet for creative individuals who are seeking an outlet for their work.
Bang for the buck Tuition is on the rise without much to show for it. Academics are as good as ever, but with additions to the university that faculty, staff, and students find to be superflous at best, the rising cost of tuition is disheartening and leaves one with little confidence in the administration.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus In previous years Kent State University tried to sweep the events of May 4th 1970 under wraps. The Kent State Shootings are a grim legacy, though in the past ten years or so Kent has been properly respecting the lives lost on that day.
Great for these types of students Kent State is well known for its graphic design, fashion design, architecture, and English programs. Kent is fantastic for politically active, artistic, and motivated students, though I wouldn't say that it's only for them. Greek life is very developed, even offering a fraternity for gay men and straight allies.
Clubs and Activities Student organizations are greatly supported by the university, including LGBT, political, social, and academic groups for student involvement. The university provides ample funding for events to make sure that students are able to reach the greater Kent community.
Greek Life While I am not personally involved in Greek Life, I know that the Greek community is heavily involved in the community. Delta Lambda Phi is present at this campus and provides a safe space for gay men who still wish to experience Greek Life.
Campus Safety Campus police have come into several of my organization meetings and classes to do demonstrations on self-defense, as well as educating students on what they do here. They are always quick to respond when an issue arises, and quick to let everyone on campus know when something important occurs.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I love Kent State University. Every time I visit friends at a different university I am more and more pleased with my choice. I couldn't be more satisfied anywhere else!
Tips for prospective students Make sure you visit many colleges until you find one that you like. If you pick a school that you think you like and are unsatisfied, transferring can always be an option. Kent has a Transfer Center that will help you with the process. Also, price is a huge factor to look into and Kent helps out a lot with all kinds of scholarships.
Academic Rigor I am very pleased with all of my classes and my professors. The student to teacher ratio varies depending on what type of class it is, but the professors have many times during which they are available for individual consultation.
Dorm Life I have lived in Johnson Hall and Centennial Court D. Both of these dorms have private bathrooms and house keeping keeps them very well maintained. The housekeepers are very nice too.
Food and Dining There are many places to eat on campus, so there is always something there when you have a taste for it.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences You can make a big school small, but you can't make a small school big. At Kent State, the second largest university in Ohio, you have the choice of over 200 majors, but also the opportunity to join over 200 student organizations. No matter who you are, there's a place for you at Kent State, and if you get involved and engaged, it will start to feel like home.
Tips for prospective students Join a student organization! It's the easiest way to get to know people, and find people who share the same interests as you. If you had a tight-knit group of friends in high school, and are looking for a similar group of friends in college, I strongly encourage you to go Greek! On the same token, make sure you take academics seriously. Many freshman have a hard time adjusting to the academic demands of college, but there are resources in place to help you succeed, so don't be afraid to ask for help.
Academic Rigor This will all depend on your course load, major, and professor. Ratemyprofessor.com is a great tool to use before you schedule classes to get an idea about how difficult your classes will be. If you're having trouble, don't hesitate to go to an SI session, or utilize the Academic Success Center or Writing Commons on the fourth floor of the library.
Dorm Life Again, this will all depend on the residence hall that you choose to live in. Overall, if you live in a freshman dorm, most people are friendly and social. RA's and Hall Councils will also sponsor programs in your residence halls so that you can meet people, and most of the time, eat free food!
Food and Dining There are a ton of options on campus for food and dining. A favorite is Rosie's, the 24 hour diner located in Tri Towers. Make sure you also explore downtown for other dining, Ray's and Pufferbelly's are some favorites.
What to do for fun If you go to Kent State, you won't find yourself asking this question. There's always something going on. USG sponsors comedians and concerts every semester and there's always a new, free movie playing at the KIVA every week.
Bang for the buck One of the more affordable universities in Ohio, but after this year, students will be charged over $400 if they want to take over 17 credit hours, and next year the charge will be applied for students who want to take over 16 credit hours.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus You can't graduate from Kent State without painting the rock on the front of campus!
Great for these types of students LGBTQ! Kent has a very active PRIDE organization that celebrates the LGBTQ community.
Clubs and Activities There are over 200, from knitting to larping. My favorite on-campus club: The Evil Genuises. You'll have to enroll at Kent to find out who they are.
Greek Life Greek Life is pretty strong at Kent, but by no means do you have to be a part of the Greek community to have a social life. It is a great way to make friends and make the campus smaller, however.
Campus Safety There are blue lamp posts where you can contact security or the police if there's an emergency, and you can always call campus security if you need to walk somewhere at night and are feeling unsafe.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State was a really fun place and the campus isn't as big as everyone else claims. The students here are friendly and the student organizations will welcome you as a part of the new family. Most academic advisers will help you when you're in need.
Tips for prospective students Recently, Kent State's tuition and dorm fees hiked up. So I would advise you to not take more than 17 credit hours.
Academic Rigor Most of the Major colleges and the Honors college are very competitive.
Dorm Life I'm a commuter, so I really don't know anything about dorms.
Food and Dining The food isn't really that bad, but the HUB has Subway, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Ambrosia (ice-cream), Jump! (chinese food), Arthur treachers/Nathan's hot dogs, and Shake Wrap & Roll (sushi/salad/wraps). There is Eastway, Boar's Head, Rosie's Diner, Jazzman's, Kent market I, and Kent market II. You can always switch it around if you get bored with the same food.
What to do for fun Downtown Kent is really close to campus, so you can walk and shop around there.
Clubs and Activities I don't know much about clubs or activities, but I know there are a lot around campus. Such as the NAVS which is a Christian club and Bible Study also called Identity project. There are sororities, fraternities, knitting club, etc.
Campus Safety Kent campus is very safe because there are police cars patrolling the campus 24/7. And if you are out away from your dorm or the bus stop late at night, you can always call for a security escort.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Overall, Kent is a good school. Just like any other university, one should look in to the specific program they plan to attend because some are better than others. I would recommend KSU to others.
Tips for prospective students I recommend utilizing your advisors as much as possible, as they will help you get done as soon as possible.
Academic Rigor Later classes, such as writing intensives, are fairly intense. I don't think this is necessarily exclusive to KSU, which is why I rated it a 3.
Dorm Life I did not live in the dorms, but from my experience in visiting them they were very cramped and a lot of younger students don't know how to act.
Food and Dining The food is reasonably good with a respectable variety. Off campus dining also available.
What to do for fun Bars downtown, bowling alley, movie theater, parties, bars.... more bars. Typical college town. Akron and Cleveland are within 30-45 minutes away.
Bang for the buck KSU is expensive, for a state school.
Campus Safety On the few occasions that something goes wrong (on campus robbery, etc.) the campus police are very prompt and candid about what has happened. I have received text messages about robberies on campus within minutes of happening. (Not that they happen often)

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It's the perfect size college for anyone looking for the ideal college experience. Classroom sizes vary but after freshman year they are rather small. Kent State allows you many opportunities to succeed after graduation.
Tips for prospective students Don't go to a college just because they have the major you want, people change majors all the time, make sure you have some back up options!
Academic Rigor Every major has difficult as well as easy classes to get through. There are many tutoring tools students can take advantage to ensure good grades.
Dorm Life Dorm life is huge here at Kent State. The majority of students live on campus at least two years.
Food and Dining Kent has a few dining halls as well as a large food court in the student center. however the food is expensive and students sometimes run out of their meal plan before the semester is over.
What to do for fun Obviously, parties are happening every weekend. However, if loud music, packed houses and alcohol isn't something you are interested in, the Kiva offers popular, newly released movies every Friday and Saturday for free. There is a cheap bowling alley on campus and a fully equipped recreation center.
Bang for the buck Kent is an average school when it comes to cost and if you get involved, its a great bang for the buck.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Kent is located in a small town with a cute, rustic downtown. The nightlife consists of house parties and many local bars downtown. Kent is also known for crazy Fests and an awesome Halloween celebration.
Great for these types of students This college is great for artistic students. Kent is known worldwide for their Fashion Merchandise and Design college and highly ranked.
Clubs and Activities There are many ways to get involved here at Kent State. You could probably find a club for absolutely any hobby of yours. From knitting, to religion, to club sports, there is something for everyone!
Greek Life Greek life isn't huge here nor is it a must. I, personally, am not involved with the Greek community but many of my friends are. It's a great opportunity if you are looking to get involved and you'll meet many different people. However, you have other, less expensive ways to meet people around campus than greek!
Campus Safety Kent has had some problems but that's common with any campus. Kent makes sure students are aware of tools like security and night escorts to help keep the students safe. Overall its a safe campus if you're smart with decisions.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State is a beautiful campus with a wide variety of majors and classes. As a journalism student, I can without a doubt say that their journalism program is top notch.
Academic Rigor As a first year, my classes were not too difficult to get through. Definitely make sure the be prepared for lecture classes, as those can be tricky to want to attend every day and pass. With some effort, classes are manageable and some can even be fun.
Dorm Life Residence Halls differ depending on where you want to live. Some of the older buildings may have slightly smaller rooms, but really here is nothing to complain about the living condition. Most, but not all, halls contain air conditioning so be sure to see which ones do if that is a deal breaker for you. Also, some dorms have pods in bathrooms, which means the bathroom is made up of stalls which contain a toilet, shower, and sink. I prefer these other the regular communal bathrooms, so it's good to check for that when looking at dorms.
Food and Dining The food is fairly good. The Hub, in the Student Center, carries popular food choices like Subway and Einstein Bros. Bagels. They also have markets, two cafe dining areas, and Rosie's, a 24 hr diner that also has a late night delivery system.
What to do for fun Free movies that have been recently shown in theaters that year play every weekend. There is a bowling alley, an ice arena and a rec center one campus. Downtown Kent is just about a 10-15 minute walk from campus and provides shops and dining for fun.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Black squirrels basically run the campus, ever since a few were brought here in 1961 and heavily populated the area. The Black Squirrel is now our unofficial mascot.
Great for these types of students Fashion (Design) Majors, Journalism Majors, Nursing Majors
Clubs and Activities KSU provides five concert bands, six choral ensembles, three jazz ensembles, athletic bands, two orchestras and multiple opportunities within dance and theatre. There are also two chapters within student government, Kent Inter-hall Council and Undergraduate Student Government.
There is also a student run newspaper, radio station, TV station with news and entertainment shows, and multiple student run magazines.Greek Life There are 19 different fraternities and sororities on the Kent State main campus.
Campus Safety There is a nighttime campus escort system. There is also Flash ALERTS, an emergency text-message notification system. There are blur lights available around campus with phones to call police in case of emergency.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I am a transfer to Kent State University. The faculty really cares about the students here. It is such an amazing school to go to and meet people!
Tips for prospective students Set a graduation plan when you begin so that you know exactly what your goals are each semester. This being said don't wait til the last minute to register for classes or you will end up taking something you hate. Go to class. Even if the professor doesn't take attendance. It is so much easier to study and focus on a class that you are going to than trying to catch up and study from the book and notes. There may be things the teacher says in class that isn't in the book. Meet lots of people. College is a great time to meet new and different people and create lifelong friendships!
Academic Rigor Do your work. Go to class. Study. Always follow along in class. Do these things and you will be fine.
Dorm Life I wish I would have had the chance to stay in a dorm. Commuting from home was a long drive and I think I would have had more opportunities and experiences socially as well to live in the dorms.

Tips for prospective students tips that are helpful are to make sure that you like the campus and to make sure that kent state is the best school for you.
Academic Rigor some classes are harder than others. it really depends on your major and what level you are on.
Dorm Life i am not a huge fan of dorm life but it can be really fun. i have made best friends from living in my dorm. dorm life is an easy way to make some friends.
Food and Dining i have been to my friends colleges and kent states were so much better than all of them. there is a lot of places to go and different varieties especially if you are a vegetarian or vegan. they also have a diner open 24/7.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences large campus but not many options on classes for students in majors other than what kent is known for. food sucks. police are strict and everywhere.
Tips for prospective students get involved in groups and get to know all you can about the campus and classes. there is a lot they do not tell in at orientation.
Academic Rigor students are not given many options on the courses to take or when if you are majoring in something that kent is not known. they do have a great fashion program. professors seem to never enjoy/ be good at teaching.
Dorm Life a lot of different dorm options. only a few are within good distance of food and activities.
Food and Dining all fast food based. there is very few healthy options. the only healthy ones for the most part are occasionally fruit, salads, and sushi.
What to do for fun greek life always has something going on. many bars and clubs in surrounding areas. organizations/ university throw things in weekends and have a weekly movie showing.
Bang for the buck not worth the money
Clubs and Activities plenty of organizations, from christian to vegan.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences kent state overall is a good school, and they offer good opportunities for students. the tuition might be going up, but for the most part the tuition is fairly low. i have had a good experience for the past three years at kent.
Tips for prospective students get involved, with anything and everything that you can. kent state is a fairly big school, but many people commute so it is important to get involved in a student organization, greek life, or student government etc. anything that will get you more out and about on campus.
Academic Rigor the acceptance rate for kent is not nearly as high as other schools, however i personally know a decent amount of people that have been kicked out because their grades are not good enough. it might be pretty easy to get into kent, but it is more challenging to stay in.
Dorm Life i know some people who have had a great experience in the dorms, i have not had a great one. i loved my roommate that i was randomly paired with, but the actual dorms that we stayed in were, for the most part, boring and no one else wanted to be social.
Food and Dining kent has really upped its game in the past few years with its dining services, however there is still some work to be done. if you want fast food everyday, then you are set. i think they need to offer more options and healthy choices considering the majority of students are living without a kitchen to make their own food.
What to do for fun there are, of course, always parties and fraternity houses to go to, but those get very old, very fast. many of the student groups organize events that happen all the time, all you have to do is find out about them. bulletin boards are honestly one of the best ways i have found to find out about things going on on campus.
Bang for the buck i have had some issues about having to pay money for unnecessary things on campus. for example, the buildings that need to be fixed and improved will not be fixed for a few years. it isn't fair to expect those students who are currently enrolled to pay for things that they will never have the change to use.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus there does seem to be a special bond here around may 4th. after you leave the school you have a certain understanding for what happened at kent state that day. at least that is how i feel about it!
Clubs and Activities there are lots and lots of student organizations to get involved in. also, if you don't find something you like in the hundreds of student orgs. you can always create one yourself with just four other students who are interested in the same thing!
Greek Life i am not personally in greek life at kent state, but i used to report on greek life. if you are interested in becoming involved, i would say do it! there are plenty of events hosted and groups to join. there are also academic and honorary fraternities that you can join if you want to go a less traditional route.
Campus Safety i have honestly never felt unsafe on campus. i know there are some instances every now and then, but if you are smart about where you walk and when, you shouldn't have any problems.

Categories Rating Comments Academic Rigor i think ksu puts too much effort into perfecting their handful of nationally ranked majors while leaving others by the wayside.
Dorm Life i think all dorms should have heat and air. however, dorm life is fun you make a family with the people around you. however, some of the staff in the dorm do not do what they are supposed to.
Food and Dining the first couple of weeks in the dorm, the food is good to show you that dorms can have good food. afterwards, the food quality goes down hill. also, i'm pretty sure there are laxatives in the food.
What to do for fun there are intramurals and student life organizations always lets you know when they have stuff going on. there are concerts and sporting events to go to.
Bang for the buck i think i am paying too much to go to school. plus, being an architecture major i pay weekly for architecture supplies when they should be included in tuition.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i give kent state university an 8 on a scale of 10. the professors are amazing, they are more than willing to work one on one with a student. kent state tries and succeeds in being the best in academics.
Tips for prospective students try to get ohio residency as fast as possible, out of state tuition kills you.
take at least one fun class a semester, making friends is a good thing.
the nursing and fashion programs are out of this world if that is something you are interested in.
keep up on the homework; the professors move fast but proficiently. it is your job to keep up with the material and you will do just fine.Academic Rigor the academics are not too bad as long as you keep up on your school work. the professors are very good at teaching and will answer your questions in class to make sure that you all do the best you can. they are top notch.
Dorm Life i don't much care for the dorm life. this is my first year and i am a out of state transfer. being in the dorms is somewhat frustrating when trying to get school work done because of how noisy it is. though it is a great way to gain friends and find yourself the first year. i do recommend the first year on campus.
Food and Dining i am a huge health freak and i can honestly say that the food at eastway gives you the variety you need to stay healthy. though alot of it is processed and not a very large selection for my taste buds. however it is very convient to be able to walk a few minutes to go and eat instead of driving across town.
What to do for fun the rec center is very large and a large majority of students go. it is an impressive size and has a rock wall which is very fun. there are always sports and events going on in and around campus. you could never be bored.
Bang for the buck i definitely feel like the tuition is reasonable if you are an instate student.the professors are amazing and their teaching skills go above and beyond the expectations. the fact that they have opportunities almost every weekend to intern for your selected major.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the diversity of culture on the campus is something you don't see every day. i love it! a blood drive every week is a great way to give back to the community it gives a self worth.
Great for these types of students out going and ready to learn
Clubs and Activities i have heard that they are amazing but i have not had the chance to actually join one my major takes over my life.
Campus Safety the emergency telephones around campus is just one way of showing how much safety they place on campus. the escort service is always a plus for late at night. the campus police help you after a late night partying

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences kent state university is a college for the student who is ready to engage the diversity of the world. there are international students, cultural events and varieties of ethnic foods for the student to try. the university is exciting and engaging in its colorful assortment of worldviews and opinions.
Tips for prospective students a prospective student should engage in extra-curricular activities while in high school and should apply for financial aid, scholarships and grants early. also, students should perform to their best abilities on the act and sat tests in order to expand their choices when it comes time to fill out college applications. students should visit the colleges they wish to attend in order to find out if the colleges have the right social atmosphere and academic options for the students.
Academic Rigor kent state university is not for students who wish to go through college just for the degree but not for actual learning. the professors expect students to perform their work to their fullest potential. the faculty and staff want students to succeed and are very helpful to students who want help or who want to improve their academic performance.
Dorm Life dorm life at kent state university can be either very quiet or very loud depending on what dorm the student is residing in. the dorms usually used by freshmen, prentice hall is one example, are less expensive but are also not as aesthetic or convenient as the more expensive dorms. stopher hall, for example, is used by honors students and includes more study room, kitchen facilities, better security and more access to laundry facilities. students should be careful to study any dorms they wish to apply for, depending on their interests and study habits.
Food and Dining the food and dining options at kent state university can be costly for students who are commuters, and those students who live on campus can expect to pay a moderate amount for the dining plans offered. however, the variety and access of the food options are worth the cost. dining facilities are within easy walking distance of both on and off campus dorms and apartments, and there is a variety of ethnic foods and dining times so that international students can enjoy a taste of home, while students can enjoy food at various times of the day.
What to do for fun kent state university often has problems with drinking on campus, but otherwise it is a university that has many fun options that are safe. there are many study abroad options for students who wish to gain knowledge about other cultures and countries, and there are also many cultural events on campus so that students may learn about the various international students that visit the campus and participate in campus activities.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State University is way too often grossly stereotyped and given the reputation of having low standards. I have found my programs and the staff that I have worked with to be highly qualified. The atmosphere and diversity of the campus truly create an exceptional college experience.
Tips for prospective students Seek out your department for advice as opposed to your college. Your department will have a better understanding of course rotation and other factors that you can take advantage of to further succeed at Kent.
Academic Rigor Those who give Kent a bad reputation have not truly experienced Kent. and have not submitted themselves fully to the university. Certain programs at the university are more rigorous than others; these are usually the more well known programs. As always, you get out what you put in.
Dorm Life The dorms at Kent are incredibly nice! They are also cheap when compared to other universities around. The rooms are spacious, offer great amenities, and create supportive, friendly environments.
Food and Dining The food is alright, but not great. There are not many vegetarian options available.
What to do for fun Karaoke at Eastway
Comedy or Live Shows in the Rathskeller
Free Movies at the Kiva
Programs put on by Student OrganizationsBang for the buck You cannot find higher education in the US much cheaper than Kent unless you go to a community college. The high quality of Kent's academics does not match up at all with its low price, but I'm not complaining! I am just reaping all the benefits.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The brain fountain outside of the psychology building is a great place to relax and study.
Great for these types of students Fashion, language enthusiasts, students with an interest in public health or nursing
Clubs and Activities My favorites memories from being at Kent so far have been from student organizations. I have made some of my best friends through clubs and learn so much and have so much fun through going to club-sponsored activities. I have been able to take leadership roles and have really grown as an individual and a student through this. The Center for Student Involvement offers leadership classes and is extremely supportive and helpful with Kent's clubs. There are so many ways to get involved and get leadership opportunities on campus!
Greek Life I am not a part of Greek Life but have been welcomed to events by Greek organizations and have had a blast!
Campus Safety Security guards are constantly patrolling campus and dorm building, especially at night. Emergency phones are always nearby, glowing blue.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Kent State University has an extremely friendly campus and an extraordinary amount of resources close by. Not only can you obtain an excellent degree, you are also able to make long lasting friends and network easily on- campus. For only being there for one short semester I could not imagined my college Carree going any better than this.
Academic Rigor For being at Kent State for one semester so far, I enjoy the academic learning environment. There are a lot of helpful professors who are enjoyable to learn from. The education is difficult in some classes, but it's college you would not want it to be too easy!
Dorm Life There are multiple places on-campus to live with a great abundance of places to relax and eat in each dormitory. You meet great friends and the staff and house keeping is wonderful and friendly.
Food and Dining There are as well multiple places to eat on campus, from dorm building areas to the Hub. You are offered places such as Subway, Asian food, Einstein's, an ice cream and smoothie stand. Then there are multiple same cafe areas as well on campus.
What to do for fun On campus you are offered; Ice skating, the rec, swimming, relaxing in the hot tubs, bowling, watching free movies at the Kiva and tons of recerational clubs and hobbies to get into with other students. There are often basketball games (for fun) and flag football in the feilds. If you enjoy supporting your school there are basketball games and football games that get pretty rowdy!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Finals are surprisingly easy at this school. Our professors are top-quality, which I was admittedly a little surprised by. We have C. Owen Lovejoy at our school!
Am enjoying being here Even though Ohioans, and especially academics, are rather reserved, you can tell that the professors care about us students. The party scene is pretty big, and Halloween is insane, which personally annoys me. However, I know a lot of students enjoy that-- you'll find it here.
Bang for the buck Even though I came here as an out-of-state student, it was still cheaper than other schools I could have attended. Also, when you apply as a Freshman they automatically check to see what scholarships you are eligible for through the school.
Tips for prospective students 1. Buy good boots for the snowy weather. Sometimes they don't plow the school sidewalks too well.
2. DON'T party too much. This goes for ALL students, not just for those looking into KSU. Your GPA WILL go down.
3. Always apply for as many scholarships as possible. Even if it seems like a long shot, it's worth it.Great for these types of students 1. Students who want a suburban environment.
2. Students who enjoy humid summers and snowy winters.
3. Translation majors-- This is what I do. I'm telling you, there's no other school to go to in the U.S. for a Bachelor's in Translation.
4. Nursing student-- Our program is really well-known.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I'm not sure about this. The program that I was looking for, computer animation, is not that strong compared with other Ohio schools. I was also disappointed by their admissions counselor, she didn't even know that they offered that program . . .
Will enjoy being here I had heard that the campus was gorgeous, but I was not impressed with it at all. Everything to me seemed ordinary, nothing really sparked me curiosity. I don't think I would like to be there.
Bang for the buck Just like any other public college, it is farily affordable and has an extensive scholarship opportunities.

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot Honestly, college is what you make it. I have noticed at Kent State, though, that the professors care about your education and want to help you if you need anything. Not only did I learn more than I expected to learn, but I had a great time as well.
Did enjoy being here I spent time on campus even when I didn't have class! (and I lived OFF campus) There is so much to do at Kent State and so many people to hang out with, that you will rarely get bored. There are also numerous clubs and organizations to join that will keep you involved and thoroughly entertained.
Bang for the buck Compared to other colleges, I thought that Kent State was a very reasonable price. The main campus is beautiful, the professors are very professional, and the classes and classroom equipment is modern and well kept. Kent State has everything you'd pay top dollar for.
Tips for prospective students If you are considering Kent State, don't think twice about it! It is a great school for a great price, and the quality of education could not be beat.
Great for these types of students Kent State is great for all kinds of students! Any age, race, size, shape, background, religion, belief, etc. is more than welcome at Kent State University.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I am not entirely sure what you will learn because I do not attend this college yet. However, judging by the fact that it is one of the top 200 universities in the world, I am sure you will learn plenty!
Will enjoy being here This campus is absolutely gorgeous, unless you dislike black squirrels and trees, of course. It's in a beautiful town with much to do in the surrounding area. It seems very fun as well. You'll never be bored here! Also, as silly as it sounds, the food at Kent State is amazing!
Bang for the buck I believe this college is very affordable, especially if you have grants and scholarships! Tuition for an Ohio resident is less than $10,000. If you want to live on campus, the basic plan is also $10,000! You can't beat that for the education and location!
Great for these types of students Students who love learning, eating, meeting new people, nature, and most of all, black squirrels!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The typical freshman courses can be simple as long as you pay attention and study for the exams. Once you get into the classes for your major they begin to get harder.
Am enjoying being here The campus is gorgeous and the people are polite everywhere you go.
Tips for prospective students Just remember to be yourself. Don't be afriad to talk to people or ask questions.
Great for these types of students This campus gives you the feeling of being in its own town. Unless you wander off campus, you don't see very many stores or houses. Even with this feeling, you still are reminded that Kent is bigger than it appears and there are always things right around the corner.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I took courses at Kent State while I was in high school, under the Post Secondary Program. It was a great experience to be with amazing talented professors, who know their stuff. I learned a lot in those short 3 years, and I know I will learn a lot when I attend college in the Fall. Right now I have finished my first semester as an actual college student. I have definitely learned a lot, but to tell you the truth to learn as much as you can you have to also challenge yourself outside of classes.
Will enjoy being here I definitely have enjoyed it, and I believe I will enjoy meeting new people as usual. Kent has a lot of diversity, and activities for students to be involved in. I enjoyed being here, and I enjoyed the people I met while here. Just make sure that when you come here, to get involved in as much things as possible, it will open your mind and offer you knew perspectives to live. There is so many activities to do every week, from Thursday Karaoke to Saturday Football Games. When football season is over, enjoy basketball, or just hang out with the nice friends you meet while here.
Bang for the buck DEFINITELY WORTH IT! The degree programs are amazing. Kent State is becoming a major university that is getting recognition from all over! I also here that it has one of the best Fashion and Nursing programs. I know that you will enjoy everything.
Tips for prospective students Send in your application early, try to get things done before time that way you don't have to rush for financial aid, and admissions, and all of that. Just be prepared, and if you are not don't be afraid to ask! Its all new for me as well.
Also find the best way for yourself for study preparation before a test. It might help if you do not cram in your studying last minute, and if you study a little bit everyday you learn it more efficiently. Note cards or Flashcards really help, and depending on who you study with, a study buddy can be very beneficial.
Also make a good impression amongst your professors because one day you might need them to help you.Great for these types of students Great for any type of student. There are even a lot of exchange students from all over the world. There is a big mix of different kinds of people, and for the most part we try to get along. Kent is a small place, with a big heart and if you are willing to learn as much as possible from Kent State faculty and staff you can go a long way.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The faculty and staff have so much to offer because majority of them all have some sort of background working in their specific field which helps you get a personal outlook on the materials you are learning.
Am enjoying being here I live in Pennsylvania, about a three hour drive from KSU, and even when I had the chance to go home, I stayed on campus. There are always so many different activities going on on campus that are almost always free such as sporting events, movies, and sometimes you could even find yourself at a party sponsored by Redbull!
Bang for the buck The dorms are some of the nicest dorms I have been in compared to private schools, religious schools, and even other public schools. The dining services constantly is reviewing feedback from the students and meeting our needs when it comes to food options. The classrooms and lecture halls are all equipt for their specific needs from state-of-the-art nursing classrooms to video productions studios.
Tips for prospective students Make sure that you know what you are coming to Kent for... schooling. Have an idea of what program you are going to be entering in to and what the expectations are. There is no point in spending all the money in the world just to be undecided for 3 years.
Great for these types of students Creative, open-minded, individuals, and motivated.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors are very knowledgeable and very willing to work with and help anyone who may be sturggling. I learned lots of valuable information in classes I did not expect to have an interest in!
Am enjoying being here The regional campus kept me very focused on academics and not partying. I was able to work hard for my first two years, meet new people, and not have to drive very far.
Bang for the buck It is much cheaper attending a regional campus of Kent. I was able to work other jobs while attending classes because of the flexible schedule.
Tips for prospective students Kent State is a great school and has a degree and schedule for every person. Regional campuses are a more affordable option if you are not sure you can pay for the big campus living or if you wish to stay at home. Make sure you are active in campus activities, there are lots of groups to join and be a part of.
Great for these types of students Regional Campuses are great for working moms or fresh out of high school students living at home. It is a cheaper alternative that offers many degrees with the same educational level as a bigger campus. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good education.
