Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot This campus is very large, 5,000 acres, and has many colleges and majors to offer. Not only will I excel in academia, but I will learn good time management, and real life knowledge.
Will enjoy being here They have very wonderful student support systems that never leave an individual to be bored or alone. Its like one big family that takes care of each other. If there is ever a need, students, staff, or others are right there on the ball to help!
Bang for the buck Being a Private AND Christian school, I expected it to be pricy. Liberty is relatively low priced to begin with, and they offer many merit scholarships that bring the price down to a very nice and managable level. There is so much to do on campus, like free skating, that is really worth the money.
Tips for prospective students Don't let rules, regulations, and the Liberty Code daunt you. It is a wonderful school with so much to offer. Don't blow it off so easy.
Great for these types of students Christians. People who like to have lots of fun outdoors (i.e. rock climbing, snow sports, hiking, biking, etc.)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Liberty University offers top of the line education. From the faculty and the students, to the facilities and the resources, Liberty's primary focus is to prepare students to assume leadership roles in society (www.libertyu.com).
Am enjoying being here The campus is always buzzing with activities to do! Every home sporting event has the stands filled with Flames fans cheering on the Red and Blue. Concerts are held almost every week, showcasing many talents found on campus. Live music always plays in the cafeteria, with games, prizes and loads of fun. The best part of about campus is the constant fellowship with everyone. You'll quickly discover the fast growing relationships that are developed on campus; between student and teacher, students and counselors, athletes and coaches, you'll even find yourself high-fiving your administrators like their your best friends! The bonds made at Liberty are certainly one of a kind.
Bang for the buck After adding everything up on the college necessity list, it's normal to stress and need to step away to catch your breath, but with Liberty you can feel extremely secure in knowing that every penny is going to a strong establishment that is 110% focused on your future. Yes, its a private, Christian University, but its worth every penny. You have some of the best educators in the country at this school and amazing programs that will challenge you in every aspect of your major, but it doesn't stop there! Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we have something called Convocation, which is pretty much like a HUGE chapel for the entire campus to come together and hear encouraging words from famous authors, musicians, artists, pastors, athletes and missionaries. So, on top of the great professors, we are taught even more by the visitors also interested in our callings. There's a gym, ice skating rink, basketball courts, an indoor track, indoor soccer and basketball arena, plus computer labs, curriculum libraries...EVERYTHING you could ask for. An additional plus about Liberty is the willingness to help in any way possible financially. Depending on one's major, their family's income, and even educational achievments like honor roll or high GPA, Liberty offers many scholarships in order to decrease financial burden.
Tips for prospective students My advice for prospective students would be to come to the campus with an open heart and an open mind, ready to be molded. Don't let your past, your weaknesses, or anything limit you from the potential you have to change the world. Liberty is definitely a place that can give you a strong foundation to learn and develop if you're willing to let the Lord take hold of your talents and use them to change the world for his glory. Secondly, Liberty University follows a strong mission statement to the T and proudly holds the title of the largest Christian University in the country. With that title, they have very high standards and rules for every student to uphold on campus which includes dress codes, required attendances to Convocation (chapel), room checks every other day, curfew, no co-ed dorms etc. Some of these rules and requirements can, I'll admit, get a little tedious and irritating but it's something that can eventually be adapted to. Liberty is not the place to necessarily live the college life (i.e.. drinking, drugs, parties etc.), but it is a campus where fun is around every corner and can contribute to a positive educational, social and spiritual growth.
Great for these types of students Students who:
- desire to be spiritually challenged
- ready to be well-rounded in their majors
- thrive off of encouragment and constant positivity
- want to become leaders
- those who love to have fun (there is so much to do on campus and even off campus!)Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am enjoying being here The atmosphere is amazing here. I love the diversity and the teachers and students here are so friendly and easy to talk to.
Tips for prospective students When you come to Liberty, Your first week will seem easy because you'll be the only ones there. Freshmen and transferring students are required to be there a week before semester starts. When classes begin be prepared because it will be a lot of people.
Great for these types of students If you want to attend a school where you can become knowledgeable about your future career and your relationship with God, then Liberty is the place for you. I attended Liberty because I wanted to be in an environment where I can focus on my relationship with God while I work on my studies.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I feel like I'm learning a lot at LU. Every teacher I've had here is an excellent teacher and genuinely cared about their students. Most of the classes are good yet challenging. You can expect to put in many study hours. However, there are several freshman classes that are complete filler.
Am enjoying being here I love the atmosphere. Most of the people are extremely friendly and nice. I felt welcomed and accepted as soon as I went to LU. Also, there are many events on campus, such as ice-skating, football games, basketball games, intramural sports, snowboarding, skiing, paintball, concerts... you get the idea! And most of the events are free which is awesome for a poor college student. But on the other hand, if you're looking for a typical college experience, you will not find it at Liberty. Liberty is private Christian university, so drinking is banned. The rules here are pretty strict, such as 3 second hugs, no kissing, no R-rated movies, no dancing... the list goes on. Honestly, they sound pretty rough, but most of the time, you really don't mind them. Instead, you have to be creative to have fun, and it can get pretty crazy!
Bang for the buck When I first heard about Liberty, I thought I'd never have the money to go there because it's an out-of-state, private, Christian university. However, it's not bad at all! I have friends who are at state schools that are paying more than I am. Liberty gives out many scholarships for little things like applying early, for how many years you've gone there in a row, having a pastor... Most of the scholarships are around $500 to $1000, but every little bit helps!
Tips for prospective students -Apply early. Liberty gives out scholarships based on how early you apply.
-Make sure you know the Liberty Way. If you don't think that you can deal with it, don't apply.
-For campus housing, there's several different types. If you like being around people, try to live in the Circle or the Hill. If you can't deal with being around people all the time, try to get on Campus East.Great for these types of students -Someone who desires to get closer with God.
-Someone who wants an excellent, yet affordable education.
-Someone who doesn't mind trying to be creative to have fun.
-Someone who can deal with having rules to follow.Login to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot This college offers many different kinds of learning. Since it is a Christian university, there is a strong emphasis on the spiritual education that you will receive. Everyone is required to take a class in Old Testament Bible, New Testament Bible, and two Theology classes. These are not very difficult, but they are quite comprehensive. Our School of Religion is considered by many as one of the best undergraduate schools on the subject in the nation. We have an amazing nursing program and a strong Law School with a percentage of graduates passing the bar. Our school of engineering is growing and while currently unaccredited, it is seeking accreditation soon. The most important thing that you will learn at Liberty is how to live your life for Christ.
Am enjoying being here At Liberty, we consider ourselves the World's Most Exciting University. We have our own SnowFlex Ski/Snowboard Center, NCAA Div. I Athletics, Intramural Athletics, Ministry Teams, Concerts (Recently Switchfoot, The Fray, and Tenth Avenue North), an amazing theatre department, and a great student body. The atmosphere on campus is one that you must experience for yourself.
Bang for the buck Liberty is obviously not the cheapest university, but it is absolutely worth it. Liberty has thousands of dollars in scholarships that are regularly awarded to each student. This knocks the cost of school down to a competitive price. The calibre that this school has is so high for the price you pay.
Tips for prospective students Do not take all of your lower level classes in your first two years. A common misconception is that you should ease into college by taking your easier classes upfront. I disagree unless you are undecided on your major. By delaying all of your upper level classes until your Junior and Senior year, you are killing yourself with a difficult course load in your later years. The best thing is to leave a few easy classes that you can do in your Junior and Senior years that will be a rest from your other major classes.
Great for these types of students If you want to grow closer to God, this is the place to be. Big-time university feel with a foundation of Biblical truth. If you are wanting to go into missions, youth ministry, nursing, sports, theatre, communications, or you are unsure, this place is an awesome experience where God is going to reveal His plan for your life through the time you spend here.

Categories Rating Comments Academic Rigor the professors at liberty are amazing! not only will you learn above and beyond on the subject they are teaching, you will also learn and grow spiritually from them. they challenge students in their school work as well as their walk with god. personally, i am always challenged when i walk away from a class. the professors do an excellent job of combining christian values and principles with the material they are teaching. they are exceptionally good at what they do and they genuinely care for their students!
Am enjoying being here I can truly say there is NEVER a dull moment at Liberty! There are always tons of things to do!
It is always a struggle to decide what to do when it comes to my free time. Student Activities always makes sure there are activities that interest a huge range of students. Not to mention all the different sporting events that are open to students. The stands are always jammed full of students cheering on their peers.
Being from the west coast, it was really hard to adjust at first from being so far away from home, but Liberty has such an extensive support network that it was extremely easy to adjust! If you need someone to talk to, there is ALWAYS someone there willing to listen to what you have to say.
When it's time to hit the books, Liberty's academic facilities are amazing! There are Quiet Zones that are great for students who need absolute silence for studying.
Liberty is an incredible university that offers an extensive variety of opportunity for it's students!Bang for the buck when i first saw the price i would be paying for going to liberty, i got incredibly scared, but after i saw what i was paying for, it was totally worth it! after my first year, i began thinking about going to a community college because i would be studying the same exact thing for less money. after thinking about it and getting some advice, i decided that going to liberty would be better for me because not only would i be getting an outstanding academic education, but i would also be giving the spiritual part of my life a chance to grow. liberty offers great financial aid and a variety of different scholarships. if price is an issue, don't worry because you will be getting your money's worth!
Tips for prospective students -don't be afraid to ask questions! the students and faculty at liberty are very knowledgeable and are willing to answer your questions.
-don't be intimidated by the size of the campus... it will shrink day by day.
-make sure you balance your studying and playing time well. if you study more than you play, things will get very stressful. it can go the opposite way as well, playing more than you work will be stressful because you will get behind in your work. the phrase all work and no play makes jack a dull boy was quoted to me a number of times when i got too focused on my studying.
-make sure you keep in touch with your friends and family back home because when you need a moment of freedom from stress, they are only a phone call away.Great for these types of students liberty is an amazing university for students who what to excel academically as well as grow spiritually. for students who what to attend the world's most exciting university, liberty university is for them!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot My professors are really concerned and make every effort to help you. If you have a weakness there are dedicated tutors who are there to help you.
Am enjoying being here Liberty is a wholesome school with many activities. I enjoy the religious environment. The track team is a wonderful and enriching experience.
Bang for the buck I was excited to get a christian school and an enriching environment in one location. The rules provide structure and ensure that I am well rounded.
Tips for prospective students Even in a christian environment there are problems from time to time. At least in this environment, the love of God shines through.
Great for these types of students If you are active, outgoing, enjoy meeting people and love to have a sisterhood/brotherhood environment, then Liberty is the place for you.. If you need structure this is the place.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot At Liberty University, I find myself being strongly encouraged to excel in my academics. Every professor makes it their ultimate goal to help out each and every student outside of the classroom. Every professor I had allowed me to meet with them anytime during the week to help me go over my work.
Am enjoying being here Liberty University has been the greatest choice I have ever made. I have absolutely loved everyday that I have been here. The students are so friendly and willing to assist you in anyway. The young men in my dorm have become my bestfriends as well as positive influences on me.
Bang for the buck To many, the tuition for Liberty University may seem a bit costly but it is worth every penny. The food is great, the people are friendly, and the classes are challenging. The school constantly provides free student activities all over campus and even provides low priced year-round skiing and snowboarding on the new Snowflex Centre. The research center is 3 stories, complete with a quite study floor and computer lab, along with a terrific library. Liberty is definitely worth the price.
Tips for prospective students Liberty offers so many activities for students to get involved in, be careful to not get drawn away from you studies. Utilize the extremely large Lahaye Student Center, complete with 5 full court basketball courts, fully loaded weight room, cardio room, and aerobic area. Come ready to fall in love with this school!
Great for these types of students Liberty University is great for ALL types of students. For those who want to be involved in study groups, we have those. For those who want legitimate NCAA sports teams, we have them. From academics to athletics, Liberty is the perfect fit for anyone willing to apply. I promise you will fit in among the 12,000 students.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Some critics of LU think that because it is a private school students aren't learning anything valuable in the real world. Aside from the basic GNED (General Education) courses, all of my classes have been academically challenging. Most of my professors expected a lot out of me, but I learned a lot.
Am enjoying being here Again, there are some students who will complain about the Liberty Way, or LU's code of conduct. However, just because Liberty has its standards doesn't mean it's not a great place. Professors here actually care not only about your academic success, but they also care about you as a person. The student leadership teams in each dorm genuinely care about each person on the hall. There are tons of fun activities, like brother-sister dorm get-togethers, sports, concerts, etc.
Bang for the buck As far as private schools go, Liberty actually is among the cheapest. To be perfectly honest, though, it is still pretty expensive. For the most part, incoming students get a good deal of money in scholarships, which kind of balance the cost out.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am excelling in my academics here more than I did in High School. My professors are great and there are so many great opportunities to get help with academics as needed. They offer tutoring services to make sure that each and every student has a great chance to succeed academically. Not to mention that Liberty has become an accredited university.
Am enjoying being here I love it here at Liberty. It is so refreshing to know that you are surrounded by other believers that share the same love for God that you do. That kind of atmosphere has helped me in countless ways with my walk with Christ and just life in general. They have so much to offer spiritually, academically, and socially.
Bang for the buck As you know, figuring out a way to pay for college can be a hassle. Liberty, however, offers many scholarship opportunities in order to make paying for college a little easier. As I mentioned before, Liberty offers so many services for students to insure that every student can have a good college experience and most importantly succeed while in school and in life after graduation.
Tips for prospective students Time management is key. Do not procrastinate because you will not be able to get all your work done in the given time period if you do. There is a lot more work given at once than in high school so manage your time in order to get your work done on time. Also another important key would be to create good study habbits because in order to do well, you need to study.
Great for these types of students Christians. It is so refreshing to know that you are surrounded by other believers that share the same love for God that you do. That kind of atmosphere has helped me in countless ways with my walk with Christ and just life in general.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot When I first came to Liberty I had decided on a certain major but later found out that I no longer wanted to pursue that field. Liberty helped me find out what I would be good at by taking a career direct test. They made my transition to another major very pleasant and easy. I love the field I am studying now and cannot wait to learn more about it. The professors at Liberty are very helpful and are always willing to help. I have learned so much about different worldviews and my major that I feel prepared for whatever step is next.
Am enjoying being here I love being at Liberty. There is such a friendly atmosphere here and plenty of things to do. The location is great too; Liberty is surrounded by restaurants, fast food chains, Target, Walmart, a Mall, Barnes and Noble (it also has one on campus), and many other shopping and food places. The location makes it very convenient for on-campus students who do not have cars because everything is in walking distance. I have made great friendships at Liberty that will last a lifetime.
Bang for the buck Liberty has a lot to offer. They have a law school, an excellent nursing program, and of course, seminary among many other majors. Liberty also has designated areas where the students can just hang out and relax, like the Tilley Center on North Campus. Tilley has an indoor pool, gym, and a ping pong and pool room; it also has a cafe and lounge area with flat screen tvs. Liberty just added the Snowflex this year where students can go tubing, skiing, or snowboarding. Liberty also has a wide variety of sports including football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, indoor/outdoor track, cheerleading, wrestling, and a crew team. Liberty has so much to offer academically as well as socially.
Tips for prospective students The good news about Liberty is that you do not need to have a decided major to apply. Liberty is great for helping you find what field you're skilled in. If you are considering Liberty, I would suggest living on campus for at least your first year because your freshman year is when you make amazing friends in your dorms and classes.
Great for these types of students Liberty is a great choice for any student who wants a school with moral standards. Liberty University is a Christian University and they do teach christian beliefs. However, you also learn a variety of other worldviews in class your freshman year. Liberty is also great for that student who is not sure what they want to study because Liberty offers such a wide variety of different classes and majors.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors actually care about their students. Granted, they won't hold you by the hand and coddle you through your four or five years...but if you ask for help more often than not they will be right there to help you.
Am enjoying being here There are TONS of activities to do on and around campus. I am only in my second year and there are still places and things that I haven't tried out yet! Trust me, LU will keep you extremely busy and you will have a lot of fun!
Bang for the buck When I was applying for colleges I was looking at the big name schools like Penn State, Ohio State, East Stroudsburg University, etc. Those universities ran in the more expensive category as far as expenses go. When I got an ad from LU I went online to look at it and saw that it was a private Christian school. My thought immediately went to oh great...it's going to cost a boat-load of money. WRONG! Yes, it does put a dent in your bank account...but by all accounts it is extremely cheap for a private Christian university. Not to mention that even your first year, you'll probably get a bunch of scholarships just from LU.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking at Liberty as your post-high school education, I STRONGLY suggest that you go online and find out when the nearest CFAW (College for a Weekend) is. When I was looking at Liberty, I went down for CFAW and fell in love with it! You'll get to meet people that you'll remember if you decide to attend. I remember I stayed in the Campus East Apartments and one of the students there...his name was Josh. He and I connected over that weekend and sure enough, my first week at LU as a full-fledged student...we saw each other and had lunch! At Liberty, you'll make friends that you'll have for the rest of your life!

-Students who want to be challenged spirituallyLogin to rate or flag the reviews

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot It's amazing how much I learned. When I went to work during break, I got into a few conversations and started spitting out information that I learned at school that seemed so complicated when I was learning it. I learned a lot of life lessons in the classroom as well because they try to use real life examples.
Am enjoying being here I love being on campus. I can really feel the presence of God on Liberty Mountain. Most of the people are so happy and filled with the love of God that the overall atmosphere is amazing. I've made so many friends because they really push a family like community on the residence halls.
Bang for the buck The tuition price seems really high but once you realize what exactly is included in the tuition it won't seem as expensive. I don't have to pay for anything on campus which is great. Everything was paid for in my tuition.
Tips for prospective students The classes seem really easy but really put in the effort to study and you're gpa will be great. Realize that your roommates won't be your best friends from the start. It may take some time to get to know one another. I live in an apartment style dorm with 7 girls and 4 of us got along great from the start and it took awhile for the other 3 to get along but now everyone is good with each other.
Great for these types of students Everyone!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I come from a small town and public high school. So Liberty was somewhat of a culture shock when it comes to academics. I have been challenged by the curriculum and forced to question issues that I never would have given a second thought before. High school was very easy for me, so I just assumed college would be the same way. That was terrible reasoning! I have learned more in one semester here than I ever would have in my four years at Chardon High. It isn't necessarily difficult curriculum, you just have to work for what you pay for, and I like that a lot.
Am enjoying being here I'm going to just come out with the truth: Liberty is not the most welcoming of all colleges. But what college is? Yes, the faculty made it as painless a transition as possible, but some of the students here were not so kind. Do not get me wrong, I have a ton of friends and I love every single one of them, but there are some very harsh people here. Of course, you will always find difficult people everywhere you go, I guess I was just one of those who had a bad experience with some of them.
What I enjoy the most is the Christian atmosphere. I have met such intelligent Christians who truly love God and know His Word. There are plenty of students, as well as teachers, who can spiritually sharpen you and guide you through your walk with God.Bang for the buck I always joke with my friends that Liberty is a lot like Disney World. It could pretty much be its own country if it wanted to! The men and women who run this show are doing their best to give back to the students as much as possible. We just recently built a Snowflex, which is a ski slope without snow! I've been there a couple of times and the facilities are great! That is just one example of what the faculty is doing to return the favor of tuition.
When it comes to education, I believe the professors are top notch and really know what they are teaching us. All of my teachers are fantastic and very knowledgeable. It made the transition process that much easier. The chancellor told us that the faculty at Liberty prides itself on hiring the best educators and the strongest Christians. Strong faith is a sign of a strong foundation for a college.Tips for prospective students I have a few things I would like to throw out there. Here at Liberty, you get what you pay for. So, rest assured, every penny of your tuition here is worth it. Secondly, Be sure to guard your mind, body, and spirit when on campus. This place is a safe one, and you have to understand that you can get comfortable with your spirituality and that could be a problem. The final thing, enjoy every minute here! God has blessed this campus and so you should enjoy those blessings!
Great for these types of students The ideal student to go here would be someone who truly wants to grow in Christ and get a great education while doing it. I recommend that you prepare yourself for the people you will meet. Most of the students are genuine, but some are also fake. Remember to guard your mind, body, and spirit and let God guide you through it all.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The atmosphere is great. The information is presented in such a way that makes me want to learn. The professors are all great and they really care about you and your success in their class.
Am enjoying being here This school is perfect for me. It is a school that encourages you to seek your full potential and keeps you morally grounded. The people are what make this school so special. Their passion for Christ is like none other; it is so genuine. There is nowhere else that I would rather be.
Bang for the buck This is an expensive school, but it is so worth it. I would never put this much money towards anything else.
Tips for prospective students Get involved! It is so important that you get out there and meet new people. Not only will you learn a lot in your classes, but you also learn a lot from the new people that you meet.
Great for these types of students Students that have a desire to honor Christ and grow in their walk with Him will love Liberty. Students who enjoy being surrounded by positivity and kindness will fit in perfectly.

Am enjoying being here The atmosphere is amazing. God's presence is everywhere and most of the people are great too.
Bang for the buck It seems outrageous I know but I think it is worth it. Great proffs, Great classes, great activities, amazing facilities, and the dinning hall isn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It could be a heck of a lot worse.
Tips for prospective students Don't go to Liberty with a bad attitude about it and you'll love it. Great fellowship and great people are constantly surrounding you. The rules can be annoying and most people get really worked up about the curfew but Lynchburg really does shut down at 9 pm...so it's not that bad I promise.
Great for these types of students Anyone who is willing to do the work. People who can deal with rules and everyone who wants to grow closer to God.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot Liberty University is just amazing. This is coming from an actual student who is accepted and is definitely coming in the fall of 2011 if the finances are right. The biggest thing I saw about the academics is the love and passion the teachers have for glorifying God and striving to teach to the best of their abilities.
Will enjoy being here Liberty University focuses on being the largest Christian University in the world, and it definitely shows. Of course, not everyone there is perfect, but for a college-type environment, the students, faculty, campus, activities, etc. is refreshing and exciting.
Bang for the buck Being a private university, Liberty is extremely expensive. Although I wish their tuition would equate to the price of a community college's cost, I am realistic. But, if it's God's will for you to be there, you can find a way by applying for many, many scholarships (cappex.com) and other various sites.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to go to Liberty's College For a Weekend - otherwise known as CFAW. This had a great influence of my college plans and choices.
Great for these types of students Overall, Liberty is great for a student who wishes to excel in a God-focused environment.

Am enjoying being here The campus is very nice and there are many student activities but some of the rules are difficult for people coming from a larger city environment.
Bang for the buck for the quality of the education its defiantly a good price.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot After a 25 year break between high school and college, I am attending Liberty Online. I am learning some many things and I am enjoying going to school.
Am enjoying being here Even though I am not on campus, the on line program is designed to make you feel like you are at the campus.
Bang for the buck I couldn't have gone back to school if I didn't get financial aid. Since Liberty is relatively inexpensive I am able to attend school and it has been fully funded by financial aid. In comparison, Liberty is WELL below any other on line programs I have looked into.
Tips for prospective students Check out Liberty, call the school, you will be pleasantly surprised what they can offer.
Great for these types of students I am full-time student, full-time mom and work outside the home full-time. If I can do it so can you!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning a lot in the academic setting, the spiritual setting, and about life in general. My professors have invested in me and really want their students to succeed in the academic setting. Students are spiritually invested in everyday through professors, speakers in convocation, and other students.
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed my first year here at Liberty. I have had a lot of fun with the friends that I made. Liberty is a great place to be with a lot of fun things to do to keep you busy.
Bang for the buck Liberty has so much to offer from academics to sports to spirituality. There are so many experiences to be a part of when you are here at Liberty.
Tips for prospective students Apply early and come visit the campus. Once you visit, you will fall in love with it.
Great for these types of students Anyone who is interested in getting a great education and growing in their walk with Christ. Liberty offers so many different areas of study-each of them taught with a spiritual foundation.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned so much here at Liberty. Not only biblically but in other courses as well. If anyone is coming here, I recommend to take Dr. Hindson for Old Testament Survey and Mrs. Donovan for Developmental Psychology.
Am enjoying being here I love the Christian atmosphere. Unlike most Christian universities, the staff teach students what being a Christian really is. It is not just a religion, and just believing in Jesus Christ doesn't save anyone. Someone has to turn from their sins, believe in Jesus Christ and give their life to Christ as their Lord. There is a difference in their life through obedience and through repentance.
Bang for the buck Liberty is very affordable with all the scholarships they offer. You have to apply and do your FASFA to see what all you are actually eligible for. From hearing speakers three times a week from all over the world and worshipping with the largest gathering of young people on the east coast at Convocation, to going to a University where every student is prayed for daily and where the staff truly does care about the students, Liberty is worth every penny.
Great for these types of students If you want to go to a University where all the staff has a personal relationship with Christ and you will learn how to share Christ affectively in whatever job you pursue after college, choose Liberty University!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors here really care about their students and are willing to help. There are a variety of different classes and over 100 majors. Class sizes can vary. General ed classes can have over 500 students, but once you get into your major, class sizes get smaller. I am currently in a class over 20 students. But I don't mind having a large class anyway.
Am enjoying being here There is almost always something to do at Liberty University. From snowflex, a gym, 2 swimming pools (1 indoor and 1 outdoor), a dollar theater within walking distance, lahaye student union, C-LAB (computer lab) with friends, and so much more. They also have monthly movie nights which show movies that recently got out of theaters. The theater program here always has amazing performances, this past year they did Hairspray and Phantom of the Opera which were both amazing. Also there is a mall about 5 minutes away. During the winter, there aren't as many things to do, but there is always a game to go to. The people here are very friendly and nice so there is always someone to talk to. Liberty also offers flames cash which is a new dining addition in which you can use your ID card like a credit card to certain places off campus to pay for food.
Bang for the buck Although Liberty University is a very nice school, it can be very expensive or cheap depending on who you are. I am from VA originally and do not receive a discount for being in-state. Paying $26,000 a year can get really expensive. Not only that, but they are raising housing prices for next year (Fall 11). Liberty does offer a variety of scholarships, though, which has paid almost half my tuition for last year. Liberty is a private-Christian university, so I guess $26,000 a year isn't too bad. The price is well-worth it in the long-run because Liberty offers a lot of services for it's students.
Tips for prospective students Liberty really is an awesome school, don't let the price deter you from coming. Don't be afraid to ask questions or to talk to anyone, students and faculty at Liberty are know a lot and are willing to answer your questions. Don't be intimidated by the size of the campus, within a week you will be able to find your way around campus with no problem. Make sure you balance your studying and free time well. Curfew is NOT an option. Don't be intimidated by all the 'rules' Liberty has. They aren't that unreasonable and really help make the safe atmosphere. I can't imagine Liberty without some of it's rules, luckily, I don't have to see couples making out at every corner.
Great for these types of students Students looking to grow spiritually and enjoy good academic classes. People looking for a friendly environment with lots of activities to do. Students that are active and committed!

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I definitely learned a lot here. The teachers were great. The ones I had were always easy to get in touch with and quickly responded to emails. They were willing to help you and work with you.
Did enjoy being here I loved Liberty! The campus is beautiful and the education was worth it. The activities offered there are also fun. Students definitely rally behind athletic events and even spiritual events. I was introduce to many new people and convocation speakers were diverse.
Bang for the buck Liberty isn't the cheapest school out there but it was worth my time there. I grew both as a person and spiritually.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking for a great college experience and to also be somewhere where your faith in God can last and even grow, Liberty is for you. Every day you are being prayed for and you have so many people available to talk with you an pray with you (Spiritual Life Directors, Prayer Leaders, RA's, RD's, campus pastors, and more!).

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Liberty University is teaching me much important and amazing material that will forever impact my life in a great way. The professors pray for the students at the beginning of every class to reassure us that the knowledge and wisdom that we are gaining comes from the Lord. I feel very confident that the knowledge I am gaining in my classes is very helpful and will stick with me as I go into my career.
Am enjoying being here Liberty University has a vibe like no other institution. As a Christian, I really enjoy being a part of the Christian atmosphere on campus. I can go almost anywhere and join any organization and find people who are very genuine. I have made many friends who are fun to be around that love the Lord and are on fire for Christ. Some people may not understand this but there is a different kind of freedom we have as Christians. We can do certain fun things while making the right choices and still be a Christian. The Division 1 athletics, concerts, activities, and many more fun things to do just enhance my great time here.
Bang for the buck Everyone doesn't always have the same case as others. I am going on financial aid. Although financial aid does not cover my full cost, the university offers scholarships as well as a Scholarship 101 session to help us find outside scholarships to help pay for our education. The school bases everything on Christianity because Liberty was founded on Christian principles and stays true to them, so it is usually a matter of trusting the Lord in every situation.
Tips for prospective students For students who are not Christian, you will still be accepted just as you are because you deserve to be in an environment in which you will feel safe and welcome. You will however hear much talk and truth about the Christian faith and based off of what you will learn, I would strongly consider accepting this free gift of salvation that this loving God has to offer to the world. For Christian students, I would advise that you continue pray and seek God's plan for your life.
Great for these types of students Regardless of where you are in your faith, Liberty is looking for those who are willing to be trained to become what we call Champions for Christ!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot A class can be made or broken based on the ability of the professor and at Liberty University they are overflowing with well educated, amiable professors. Men and women not only teaching their classes well, but also willing to meet with the students, helping them in a personal way. Obviously there are professors who were not as enjoyable. For a high majority though, there are unbelievably talented professors.
Am enjoying being here The campus, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is absolutely beautiful and refreshing. Beyond mere appearance, I have met the most amazing people there. Students and professors both, have greatly increased my faith in Jesus Christ, illuminating the truth and challenging me to seek out God for myself. It is overall an uplifting place, filled with encouragement.
Bang for the buck Though the price is quite exuberant, it is worth the money. The campus is continually building and growing, advancing both with the buildings and with the level of excellence in academics, as well as athletics. It is a hefty bill though, and I do not wish to hide that by any means.
Tips for prospective students Surround yourself with friends who you wish to be. Early on, the friends you make will greatly impact your college years. If your desire lay in achieving high grades then find friends who share that yearning.
Great for these types of students Individuals who wish to be in an encouraging environment with a longing to increase in knowledge. Also, since this is a private Christian college, followers of Christ will find convocation three times a week more likely pleasurable then someone who does not share those beliefs. God is in this place, and I believe as you dig deeper into the school it will reveal itself in deeper ways.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The ratio student to teacher ratio is on average 25:1, which is so amazing since there are 12,000 students on campus. You really get to know your teachers and your teachers really get to know you. The education is 10x better because its more personal rather than having all lecture classes.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy being there because the campus atmosphere is so fun, everyone is willing to talk with you even if they dont know you. Also Student Activities is always having some event happening which is a cool way to have fun and a great way to meet new people through their events.
Bang for the buck It is a little pricy here, but for the education and personal touches from the teachers and dorm connecting activities that make it almost impossible to becoem homesick, I would say you are spending every dime very wisely.
Tips for prospective students Have fun, but don't let it over take your study habits
Great for these types of students Greta place for people who are wanting to pursue in: arts, worship/music, bible, intercultural studies, women's ministry, pastoral leadership, business, law, psychology, and nursing!

Will enjoy being here I have been to the campus many times over the past few years and I have enjoyed every minute of being there. I have attended many concerts and events that took place there and it brought me to life living on that campus.
Bang for the buck Liberty requires very little money for people to attend compared to most private colleges. You get more out of the college than you pay to attend the school.
Tips for prospective students Liberty is a beautiful place to be and a very friendly environment. Everything that you need is on campus or close by. Liberty is a lovely college.

Bang for the buck Priceless. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Liberty has a high standard of learning and expects their students to want to learn. In every one of my classes at Liberty, I had to put time and work outside of the class to succeed. The professors are extremely helpful and really do care about their students. The classes provide an blend of reading as well as classroom discussion and projects.
Am enjoying being here Despite some rumors about the rules at Liberty and the Liberty Way, I feel that most of the rules are reasonable, especially for a freshmen. Liberty provides an array activities to replace partying. There are so many things to do on campus that it is almost impossible to be bored. Whether its a football game, or an event that student activities puts on, weekends are filled with things to do and many people stay on campus. There are hundreds of clubs to choose from and very easy to get involved.
Bang for the buck For a private, Christian school, Liberty is very affordable. They offer great scholarships and flexible payment plans. My interactions with the financial aid office have been very positive and they are very cooperative with your situation.
Tips for prospective students The most important thing to do before choosing a college is to visit the campus. I think you really get a feel for the energy and life of the students on campus. Liberty is not for everyone so a visit is essential if you are interested. Another great thing that Liberty offers is college for a weekend. Prospective students can stay in the dorms and attend classes in which they are interested. It is a great opportunity to take advantage of.
Great for these types of students A student that wants a Christian based education with challenging academics and exciting, innovative activities. Liberty has opportunities for all majors and if students are looking for a big-campus feel then Liberty could be for them.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned so much from attending this university. I have grown so much spiritually. Attending Liberty is an amazing experience in itself because you get the opportunity to hear from amazing speakers from all over the world. I have also improved in my knowledge when it comes to academics. Specifically, I have had amazing math professors. I thought I hated math, but it seems that i just had poor high school math teachers.
Am enjoying being here I love attending this school. Regardless of the fact that I am many miles from home, the love and kindness I have experienced here has helped me not to be homesick. There are so many activities to do here as well. (I got to take a free day trip to Washington D.C.!)
Bang for the buck This school is definitely more that an in-school college but much less expensive when compared to other private universities.
Tips for prospective students There are rules here, yes. However, if you humbly accept these rules there is so much opportunity to be experienced here.
Great for these types of students I would recommend this college to any one looking to grow in their relationship with the Lord plus anyone who feels content in their view of God and in a relationship with Him. The opportunity for growth here is endless. With the opportunity to here amazing speakers, to listening to great bands, being prayed for daily etc.

Am enjoying being here With over 5000 acres to use, Liberty has many different activities from paintball, running, and also motor cross and four wheeler trails to ride on.
Bang for the buck The university is expensive, but the quality of the school makes up for it in many ways. The university is always adding on new buildings and activities for the student's use.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Liberty University has so much to offer academically. The university has a variety of majors and is currently expanding to add more. They have great programs whether you are an undergraduate student or graduate. The professors are excellent; knowing and loving the subject on which they are teaching. If you cannot find what you are looking for on the residential campus or simply do not want to move, they also offer courses on Liberty University Online. The courses are excellent and they have flexible start times.
Am enjoying being here Liberty has a beautiful campus, surrounded by mountains that offer breath-taking views. There is always some type of activity around campus. At Liberty, there is something for everyone. The student support system is excellent. If you need anything, there are people around to care for you. On a hall, there are two Resident Directors, two Spiritual Life Directors and several Prayer Leaders. All of the leadership on ones hall are always generous and available to help whenever needed. There are a wide variety of sporting events, as well.
Bang for the buck As a private, Christian university Liberty is at a higher cost. However, they do offer scholarships that help. They also hold scholarship searches on campus on a fairly frequent basis to help students find scholarship opportunities. They understand that students will have trouble paying and want to help keep you at Liberty.
I believe that the education provided by Liberty University is well worth the cost of going.Tips for prospective students Liberty offers College for a Weekend four times a year. It is an excellent opportunity to get a feel for the University. They plan a weekend filled with activities for prospective students and parents. If you are considering Liberty, it will give you a good feeling about how life will be when you arrive as a student. During the weekend, you get to stay in an on campus dorm with students. You can eat at the Reber-Thomas dining hall and experience the tastes of Liberty. For each College for a Weekend CFAW the college brings in a name in Christian music to perform a concert for the weekend. As a CFAW, you receive a ticket to the concert. I found that staying for the weekend really gave me prospective that would shape my experience as a Liberty student.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Liberty is the place to be!! The professors know what they are doing, and have strong christian values. I learn a lot from most of them. All of the professors that I have had definitely know their stuff, and most of them are very helpful and are willing to help you out in anyway that they can. They will listen to their students and not turn any student away.
Am enjoying being here This is the WORLD'S MOST EXCITING UNIVERSITY!!! There is never a dull moment here at Liberty. There is always stuff going on, whether it is a football game or basketball game. Liberty is such a fun place to be. Here are a few of the things that happen on campus: Concerts (we've had the Fray, Needtobreathe, Article One, Meridith Andrews, Tenth Avenue North, Addison Road, and many others), late night ice skate (usually till about 2am), homecoming weekend (parade, tailgating, and of course the game), brother/sister dorm activities, club sports (such as paintball, ultimate frisbee, archery, etc.), free movie nights, there are many other activities, but I think my favorite would be Christmas coffeehouse (which is like a talent show, but only better!!) Another that I really enjoy about Liberty is that it is a Christ centered environment. There are SO many encouraging people on campus that will pray for you and are willing to listen. I have had some excellent people come into my life that have helped me through difficult situations. This is such a great place to be! Don't let anyone tell you different!
Tips for prospective students Don't judge this school by it's cover. There are a lot of rules and regulations, but trust me once you get here it really isn't that bad. This is one of the best choices I have ever made! Liberty is such a life changing experience. Come visit with an open mind and heart, and give it a chance.
Great for these types of students Liberty is good for students who love doing different activities and for those who love to be outdoors (like hiking or swimming) It is also good for those who are seeking a good Christ centered environment with some of the most encouraging people that I have ever met.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Since the son of the founder took over, the school has been going downhill exponentially within the past few years. The focus is now completely on money and reputation over everything else. At this point in time, a different college would be a better choice.
Tips for prospective students Figure everything out yourself and constantly revise your plans. Do not depend on the school counselors and advisers. Only go to them with specific questions instead of using them to plan out your entire college career.
Academic Rigor A very few of the programs are challenging, but most are a cakewalk compared to other colleges and universities. Anyone is accepted, and most students are babied into passing.
Dorm Life Dorm life is a hit-or-miss situation. Some people have great experiences whereas other people have horrid, miserable experiences. A lot depends on the leadership on your hall and how well you do with following rules dictating your life.
Food and Dining There are many options for dining on campus and the cafeteria has been working on getting better.
What to do for fun The school is in a very small town, so there is not much in the way of entertainment. However, for the active minded, there is hiking and exploring to do.
Bang for the buck It is very expensive. For many of the majors the degree does not seem to match the expense. Also, there are many hidden fees and expenses that the school tries to slip in.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus none
Great for these types of students This school is great for rich students who do not really care what they do or who lack direction in life. It is also good for female students seeking a mate as the school follows the ring by spring mentality.
Clubs and Activities While there are many options for clubs, they are often small and inactive. The Student Government Association is responsible to oversee the clubs. However, the SGA is very disorganized and most things end up in a mess that the club has to take responsibility for.
Greek Life none
Campus Safety While the campus is not especially dangerous, it is not particularly safe either. A bill passed in the SGA allowing concealed carry of weapons on campus. Also, the school does nothing for roommate conflicts even if a person is mentally unstable to the point of injuring himself and/or others.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It offers a Biblically sound education.
It's a small campus with a big campus feel.
Students that live in on campus housing have a curfew seven days a week and if you break it you are fined.Tips for prospective students If you are looking for a college experience that will allow you to come and go as you please Liberty is not for you. It is distinctively a fundmental Southern Baptist university with many rules. Chapel is held three days a week and attendance is required.
Academic Rigor The academic programs offered at Liverty are vast. The professors all hold a Phd and do a fantastic job making sure they challenge their students both academically and spiritually.
Dorm Life There are a lot of rules to follow in the dorms. It is requried that you meet with your hall nightly for hall meeting and prayer. In my opinion the rules make it a hassle to live in the dorm. Unfortunately, unless you are older than 21 years old it is required that you live in the dorms.
Food and Dining The food can stand to be improved. The options to choose from are limited and most days the same types of meals are serve daily. It isn't worth the money you pay.
What to do for fun Liberty offers a year round ski slope and ice skating rink; unlimited usage is included in your tutiton cost. Many students go to the local movie theatre for entertainment. Attending the sports events is always fun for those who enjoy sports. Outside of those things there isn't much else to do for fun.
Bang for the buck Overall Liberty is a quality education.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I'm not sure if I know any traditions that are common to Liberty.
Great for these types of students Young men and women that like structure will enjoy Liverty. Those looking for a distinctive Christian education will also find that Liberty is serious about training young man and women to be Christ followers.
Clubs and Activities Liberty is limited in this area.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I love the positive and encouraging atmosphere of Liberty University. The academics are very high, but taught at a level where everyone is able to understand them. All of the instructors that I have had have been very qualified and incredibly helpful.
Tips for prospective students Although I believe this is a great school, online can be hard. Liberty only offers 8 week classes, which is like taking a whole semester in 8 weeks! It is not easier because it is taught in a shorter period. It takes a lot of dedication! If you are not a motivated, independent worker, I would suggest not taking online classes, but rather finding a college near you.
Academic Rigor The academics are great! They are at a higher level, but taught at a level where everyone can understand them. I have learned a lot more from Liberty than the other colleges that I have attended.
Dorm Life I can't rate this one as I am an online student.
Food and Dining I can't rate this one as I am an online student.
What to do for fun I can't rate this one as I am an online student, but I see where they are always have concerts, movies, and other programs.
Bang for the buck I have been using the Federal Pell Grant for my education, but I am losing that this year. With a family of six and a very low income, I am willing to find a way to pay for my education at Liberty versus going any where else. This is how much I love this University!
Great for these types of students I would say Christian's. They do not force their religious beliefs on anyone and you do not have to be Christian to attend this university. I just feel that with how the classes are formed around a Christian view and how the majority of the activities that I see are Christian that a non Christian might be uncomfortable here.
Clubs and Activities I can't rate this one as I am an online student. I do see online that there are a lot of activities that go on at Liberty.
Greek Life I can't rate this one as I am an online student.
Campus Safety I can't rate this one as I am an online student.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I am not happy with this college. I received no help from anyone whatsoever. I don't even know who my academic counselor is.
Tips for prospective students This college seems like it functions better at its hands-on traditional college. The online section of the college is very vague and not put together too well. My biggest tip for a prospective student: find another college or go to Liberty University on their campus.
Academic Rigor So far, the academic rigor seems to be very challenging and fast paced. I would like the college but I seem to be very lost as no one really explained the whole online thing to me.
Dorm Life This does not pertain to me because I go to an online section of Liberty University.
Food and Dining This actually doesn't pertain to me again because I go to the online portion of Liberty University.
What to do for fun I check out the online ministries that Liberty University offers. They are very inspiring and informative. I wish they would offer more online activities.
Bang for the buck I feel like I am spending too much money on a college that doesn't help it's students succeed. It is very disappointing, considering I was told this was a Christian college, I was assuming I would be able to share my beliefs with others but I haven't had the chance yet.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus Im not sure, I haven't ever been on the campus at Liberty University.
Great for these types of students I think the people that would benefit more from this program are people who are looking into going into some type of ministry program.
Clubs and Activities There are quite a few clubs and activities, but unfortunatly, they do not offer any clubs or barely any activities for online students.
Greek Life I don't have any idea what the Greek Life is like at Liberty University. I go to the online portion of the school and nothing like Greek Life is offered or even close to the subject of any sorority.
Campus Safety I attend campus from my living room comfortable in my home. I feel pretty safe and secure learning from my own house. It is safe at my house, a lot safer than on a campus.

Food and Dining The food is very good for the most part. There are always different options and even if something appears unappetizing, there are always other meals available. The only downside is that, like anything, eating at the same place can get old so mix it up whenever you can.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I think Liberty University is a great school. After during some research about online classes Liberty has everything I was looking for. Tuition is not that bad and the online classes are very convenient for students.
Tips for prospective students Before attending any school always visit the campus . Also compare your choices with other school for example the tuition, graduation rate and the dorms.
Dorm Life My first experience in a dorm wasnt so bad. I had a clean roommate which is a plus. The only thing I had to get use to was having to go outside my room to get to the bathroom to shower. So if you have the opportunity to get a bathroom is your room I say go for it. And I wouldnt get a single. You always need someone to talk to because your away from home so get a roommate. If you and that person dont get along you can always get a new one.
Food and Dining Food and dining wasnt so bad at Nyack College. The only thing that I didnt like was the times. Dinner started at 5:00pm and the diner closed at 6:00pm so if you didnt make it by 6:00pm you would have to eat whatever was in your room or call for take out.
What to do for fun For fun I watch movies with my teammates, went to the mall, played basketball and went to student events.
Bang for the buck I think the college life is a great experience to gain life time friendships and memories. I have gainto some great friendships in college and I know you will to. Even to this day I can pick up my phone and talk to my teammates or coach about any issues I have and they are there to listen.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I cant really think of any unusual tradition at Nyack College. However Nyack did have a grave site on campus of the man who create the school which I thought was unusual. Nyack also always had deers running around campus. Im a city girl so I never seen so many deers. I also seen ground hogs for the first time.
Great for these types of students Nyack College is great for athletes and christians. If you are looking to build a great relationship with God then attend a christian college like Nyack and Liberty.
Clubs and Activities When I attended Nyack College I played on the Women's Basketball team and that was one of the best experiences of my life. We won a conference championship and the school went to the NCAA tournament for the first time. Basketball ket me busy. My normal day was going to class, lunch, weight room, class, dinner, practice, then back to my dorm.
Campus Safety Although I am a online student at Liberty I have experience the dorm life as a undergraduate at Nyack College. The campus never had any safety issues you I attended besides weather alerts because it snowed alot during the winter. Students had access to text or emails so if there were an emergency students would know about it.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It is has a great all- around environment. Academically, Socially, Education- wise, the school is absolutely great and because it is a Christian college it is easy to stay focus and not stray away from worldly things. The people are so kind and the teachers do not hesitate to help their students.
Tips for prospective students Manage your time wisely. Time in college is very important and it is important that you are very organized. Do not lose faith in God & do not lose faith in yourself. If you work hard, everything else will fall into place.
Academic Rigor Liberty University offers hands-on learning, flexible study options and advanced academic facilities like the Guillermin Library and Integrated Learning Resource Center.Once you’re in the classroom, you can have peace of mind about your professors. Also, Liberty University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, master’s, education specialist and doctorate levels.
Dorm Life Everyone is very nice and it is easy to get along with everyone. There are no problems that I know of that occur within the dorm because of the fact that at Liberty everyone is family.
Food and Dining The food is absolutely delicious. You have to be careful because there is so much, it is hard to watch what you eat and stay on diet because everything is so tempting. But they do have salad bars and healthy varieties. The school has a good balance of healthy and not so healthy foods.
What to do for fun Nearly every major offers an academic organization, and the opportunities to volunteer, join a club or get involved with social causes are numerous. You’ll stay busy, but make sure to schedule some time to unwind. Hit a few of the campus hot spots such as the LaHaye Student Union for a workout or the new Tilley Student Center for a cup of coffee and some socializing between classes.
Campus Recreation keeps students moving with a variety of recreational activities. It is truly a good school and lives up and beyond expectations.

Campus Safety The school is located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The location is beautiful and because it is Christian- based, the likeliness for harm to occur is very slim.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Liberty is a fantastic school, especially if you want good biblically sound teaching. The university itself is continuing to grow almost daily, which means there are new degrees and classes being opened all the time. While the school strives for academic excellence, it also strives to be a strictly Christian University and keep all of its teachings biblical and applicable to the real world.
Tips for prospective students Come down for college for a weekend. Throughout the year there are various weekends when they open the campus to prospective students. From thursday-sunday you can sleep in a dorm, go to classes, and eat in the dining hall with the rest of the students. This definitely helps to gain an idea on what college life is like no matter where you go.
Academic Rigor I have found that the classes here are very rigorous. Every teacher wants to be very thorough and helpful to every student. The teachers also make it a point to be available to the students whenever they are needed.
Dorm Life The dorm life on campus is fantastic. Every dorm has it's own unique sense of community that is very welcoming to all new students. There are also different types of dorms around campus that are suitable for everyone. Main campus dorm rooms have about 3 people to a room on a hall of about 70-80 students. East campus dorms are more like apartments. East dorm has about 8 people total, but multiple rooms that house 2-3 people. They also have a sitting/ living area with a small kitchen and washer and dryer.
Food and Dining The University has a variety of different meal options for students living on campus. The main dining hall is buffet style with a variety of different types of food for students including burgers, pizza, a main dish, sandwiches, mexican and chinese. There is also a sub shop on campus which is better than subway any day of the week.
What to do for fun One of the big fun things to do on campus is Snow Flex. Snow flex is a year round snowboard/ski slope built on Liberty mountain. Sports are also really big on campus with a plethora of sporting events happening every weekend. Ice skating is also free to students at the Lahaye ice center during public skates, and if that doesn't float your boat you can always head over to the student union to play pool or ping-pong or just hang out with friends and enjoy some starbucks coffee.

What to do for fun go watch a home game; get involved in the many clubs & ministries they have; or in the least, go hang out in the numerous coffee houses around campus.
Bang for the buck liberty university's tuition is very competitive and the quality of the classes well exceeds what you pay for them.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus cannot comment - i am an online student!
Great for these types of students for the christian student who wishes to study at a top-notch unversity that also combines faith base teaching...this is the school!!!
Clubs and Activities since i am an online student, i cannot take advantage of the many clubs and activities that liberty offers. however, from reviewing the school, whatever your interests are, you can find somewhere to participate.
Campus Safety again, i am an online student and the specifics of the safety programs aren't something i am up-to-date with; however, the school does implement the outmost resources and policies for student safety.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences wonderful school to grow not only academically, but also spiritually and personally. awesome professors who love and care for students. good class sizes with interactive learning.
Tips for prospective students take general education with liberty online as much as possible so as to maximize your major specific class time on campus.
Academic Rigor i'm a predmed student so it's going to be a harder major than most, but overall the classes at liberty aren't hard, but they take a lot of work.
Dorm Life i live off campus, but i hear it gets bad.
Food and Dining good food!
What to do for fun lots of events put together by the student body association, good inter. sports teams, great gym and hang out facilities, and snow flex!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty is an amazing place to go to school. the campus is huge and always something going on, so you will never be bored. the atmosphere is something you will have to experience for yourself and being a the largest christian university in the world, we have well known people from around the world come speak to us three time a week.
Tips for prospective students this campus is an amazing place to be because it not only helps you grow in academics but also in your life. this is a christian university so things are different here than most other universities (which is not a bad thing). so if you are looking to party every weekend you will not be in luck here. at liberty you can make it the best time of your life or the worst. it all depends on you.
Academic Rigor academics are liberty are a good mix. you have plenty of hard classes that you will face but from what i have experienced if you stay on task and put effort into your classes you will be able to make a b if not an a. it all depends on how much effort you put into your classes and if you take things seriously. i am really learning a lot in my studies and i plan to even study abroad this coming semester in europe.
Dorm Life dorm life can be very fun and entertaining but also a little crazy. i am not sure what your roommate will be like but for the most part everyone here is fairly normal but there are exceptions to the rule. you will be up late most nights because of different things going on but when you look back on this time, you will remember the good parts and forget the bad.
Food and Dining the food is not bad but it could be better. the great part about the food system is that you have flash cash which is accepted at many restaurants close to campus. so with your meal plan you are able to go out to eat without spending anymore money.
What to do for fun there is plenty to do for fun, there is always student actives going on, such as concerts, raves, competitions, movie nights.. etc. also there is indoor and outdoor field/courts where you can play for fun or on intramural teams.
Bang for the buck liberty is a private school and it is not the cheapest place to go but it is also not the most expensive. in my opinion liberty is a little over priced but you get a lot for your money.
Greek Life none
Campus Safety it is extremely safe. we have a full time police department that keeps everything in check.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty university is a school with an excellent christian foundation that teaches young men and young ladies how to make an impact for christ in their chosen professions. while not everyone attends liberty with a christian mindset, the academics are excellent and provide a gateway to many other opportunities. the school has an array of majors and minors to choose from and many students, if not most, will find satisfaction in their careers.
Tips for prospective students prospective students need to keep christ first in all aspects of their lives. students also need to focus on their studies and take their education seriously. do not attempt to jump into a relationship immediately because this can lead to stress, chaos and broken hearts; in turn, these factors may lead to poor academic performance.
Academic Rigor the classes are structured so that students will truly study and learn the material and not regurgitate it on a quiz or test. the information that students learn today will shape their lives not only in their careers but also in their witnessing to others about christ.
Dorm Life dorm life is great if one chooses to make it wonderful. roommates come from all parts of the world and bring their cultural differences with them. living with a roommate allows a student to see things in his or her life that may not have been noticeable before. furthermore, the christian environment in the dorms allows for mentoring, accountability, discipleship, and spiritual growth.
Food and Dining the food is good here. it is not like ruby tuesday or olive garden but it is better than eating ramen noodles every day. the main campus dining hall, affectionately called the rot has various sections from which students can choose to eat. there is a salad bar, charbroiled (hamburgers and hot dogs) section, southwest (burritos and tacos); pizzeria (various types of pizzas and pasta); a balanced section (for the health conscious and gluten-free students); a main dish (somewhat tasty homestyle cooking); an asian wok (fried rice, egg roll, etc.); a dessert section and drink stations. there a number of restaurants on and around campus to choose from.
What to do for fun students go to snowflew, the ski and snowboard resort at the top of liberty mountain; there is a movie theater not too far from campus. in addition, students exercise in the tilley student center's gym; play video games; watch movies; and hang out with friends.
Clubs and Activities there are a multitude of activities and clubs in which to get involved. there is a jiu-jitsu club, sports clubs, sports teams and ministry teams for which students can audition. in addition, a new organization called band of leaders that was created in the fall of 2010 is becoming popular on campus. our mission is to impact liberty university and the world by creating god-made leaders who can share christ on campus, with the lynchburg community, and beyond.
Greek Life there is relatively little greek life on campus.
Campus Safety the liberty university police department is highly trained and certified to patrol the campus. the officers come from various parts of the country and have their own unique experiences and stories.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty university is a wonderful christian college, that has highly qualified teachers and staff to help students achieve their academic goals. the college has a great staff, and 24/7 tech support if ever needed. the best fact is, it is a christian based education where you can meet other christians, and learn in a godly environment.
Tips for prospective students always study, and never get behind. once you get behind then it makes it that much harder to get ahead. also, never be afraid to ask questions, the teachers are there to help you and the staff is there if there is ever a problem. lastly, never give up, aim for what your goal is in life, and do not let anyone discourage you. when the going gets tough, the tough gets going!
Academic Rigor academically, this college is the best in my opinion. they make sure you are getting top quality education that will help you in the future. the programs are designed in a way to help you succeed, and work hard for what you are pursuing. there is no room for slacking off, you only get out of it what you put into it.
Dorm Life there is the option of dorm life where you are surrounded by other christian people. the other option is online education, where you have the freedom of working at the same time of getting your degree.

Academic Rigor i haven't started classes yet but the program looks inclusive and i'm looking forward to digging into course work.
Dorm Life i'm a distance learner...no dorm.
Food and Dining from what i've read, it looks welcoming.
What to do for fun online student - but site promises great student life.
Bang for the buck everyone i've spoken to has been very friendly, informative, and helpful. the admission process was so easy! financial aid was quick to package and questions were answered completely. i'm very pleased and cannot wait to start classes.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i have thoroughly enjoyed all my classes and teachers, including the convocation speakers, here so far. i love how easy it is to get around campus and all the fun activities provided. i truly enjoy the atmosphere here and am excited to be going here.
Tips for prospective students come here with an open-mind and an open-heart. god is doing amazing things here and if you will let him, he will work in you. be ready to have a great time while going to school.
Academic Rigor attendance is kinda a big thing here. being on time and present helps your grade immensely. the teachers care about you actually learning the material in class and doing all the work, not just showing up to take the final and be done. they want to help you succeed.
Dorm Life i seriously love the dorm life. my roommates are so nice, and so are my hall-mates. instead of sororities and fraternities, we have brother and sister dorms that we hang out with and do organized stuff with. it's fun.
Food and Dining the rot (the building used to be a marriott) is a buffet-style cafeteria and we can eat whatever we want (as many colleges have). but there are some places around campus like subway that are really good. you cannot go hungry here, there is always something for everyone.
What to do for fun the students activities are numerous. from movie nights with free popcorn to $10 concerts, sports games, intramural teams to join, races, treasure hunts, seminars, bible studies, free snowboarding/skiing/tubing, hikes, etc., there are so many things to do!
Bang for the buck school is expensive, but liberty has some scholarships. i have already cleared out my savings account after the first semester. but i think it is worth it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the senior class gets to graffiti the big rock and the surrounding trees and sidewalks. it is fun walking past it and seeing it change every night.
Clubs and Activities as mentioned before, there are tons of activities. i am not sure of all of the clubs, but i know they are out there!

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences i attend liberty university on line. i am a non-traditional student at 54 years of age and disabled. i can only take 1 class at a time because of my psychiatric and physical disablities. liberty university is a great place to attend online. i started in the spring of 2011 and have passed every course with a b or better. my problem is that the way biology 101 is structured (17 weeks). to qualify for fafsa i have to be going to school on a 2 classed per semester basis. biology will cost me $925 to take by itself. this scholarship would be of great help to me and my family. i enjoy liberty very much and am pleased that it is a christian based university. highest marks to them,
Tips for prospective students stay ahead of the syllabus if you can. the weeks go by very quickly and most classes (3 credit hours) are completed in 8 weeks in the online courses.
Academic Rigor if you stay ahead you will have it made but these courses can be completed in the time frame liberty university online has set out.
Dorm Life i cannont rate dorm life because i live off campus
Food and Dining i cannot rate because i live off campus
What to do for fun i cannot rate as i live in another state and am taking online courses
Bang for the buck very reasonable fees and tuition.
Great for these types of students any student that needs a flexible schedule will find that the online program is the way to go. i can study when i want to as long as i meet assignment deadlines.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences my experience with liberty university online has been nothing but positive. the instructors send encouraging weekly emails and reminders that make going to school online as real and easy as possible. liberty university even offers free 24/7 tutoring for online students--you can't go wrong!
Tips for prospective students i would highly recommend making the effort to visit the campus. one of the absolute best times to visit would be during a cfaw weekend. the campus is jammed pack with activities and the university grants cfaw students unlimited access to the campus. you are able to attend a class, attend admissions and financial aid seminars (among others!), stay in the dorms with actual students and eat in the dining hall. cfaw students also attend one of the convocation services required of all liberty students, and go ice-skating or tubing at the snowflex center! not only that, but you get to take in the absolutely gorgeous views of the campus!
Academic Rigor the online classes for liberty university are divided into sub-terms, which means that most classes are split from sixteen-week terms into eight-week terms. this can sometimes make the academics difficult if you allow yourself to get too far behind!
Dorm Life although i'm not a residential student, i attended one of the cfaw weekends and stayed in the dorms. the dorms themselves are comparable to almost any other dorm. the rooms are fairly small but they are incredibly clean!
Food and Dining i had absolutely no complaints about the dining hall. there were endless choices. but, college food is college food!
What to do for fun liberty university may be considered in the middle of nowhere by some, but there is plenty to do. most students say that during their down time, it's best to study! however, if you find yourself catching a break, liberty is home to the only year-round ski resort. ok,, it's not a resort; but, it is fun! liberty also has a large ice-skating rink and a building on campus called the tilley center, where there is a ton to do inside! other than that, liberty students often attend seminars with many different speakers throughout the week.
Bang for the buck this is beyond affordable for the average student.
Great for these types of students great for students who are looking for a christian school. liberty university has many different opportunities to get involved with the many local churches, missions trips, and weekly convocation services.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty is an incredible school, founded in christian morals and faith as well as a top contending liberal arts university. liberty focuses highly on academics from its students and we are pushed to excel in not only class, but in everything that we do. our motto is that we are training champions for christ, and liberty succeeds in this mission everyday.
Tips for prospective students coming to college for a weekend at liberty, is one the best ways to gather an understanding of what campus life is like. this is a weekend long event starting thursday and ends on sunday. it allows perspective students the ability to shadow other students and to attend classes and convocation. coming to one of these is the best thing that a perspective student can do in order to fully grasp the feeling and atmosphere here on campus.
Academic Rigor liberty university prides itself on having a well achieved academic standard for its students. we are consistently pushed to do our best and to excel when it comes to academics. liberty is known to have a high acceptance rate as well as a high drop out rate meaning although it may be easy to get in, classes will not be a breeze.
Dorm Life dorm life is usually always excited, with close to seventy people on a hall it is not always quiet. dorms are not coed dorms there are only dorms for guys and girls for dorms. only once a semester do they have open dorms when guys can go on girls halls and girls are allowed on guys dorms. there are resident adviser's on every hall along with two spiritual life director's and seven prayer leaders. remember this is a christian based school, so the halls are tailored to promote a christian life style.
Food and Dining there are several on campus sites to eat at, we have the reber thomas dining hall, sub-connection, doc's diner and the bistro. all of these places accept meal swipes that are apart of your meal plan that you select. we also have locations that accept what are called meal points which is money to be spent at the hanger, or the keyhole, this too is also incorporated into the meal plan that you select. the last part of the meal plans is what is called flames cash, this is a set amount of money included into your semester meal plan and allows you to spend this money at several off campus locations such as buffalo wild wings, and other restaurants.
What to do for fun there are several things to do for fun. there are several coffee shops with live music around the city of lynchburg all within five minutes of campus. there are plenty of hiking trails on and off campus that can be done as a day long adventure. we have the only snow-less ski and snowboarding slope called snowflex in all of north america which is a lot of fun to go on, you can take lessons or goof around. there is also a huge tubing slope at the snowflex. we also have our own skate park that only students can use which was just built this year. liberty is working towards adding additional places that students will be able to use for fun.
Bang for the buck liberty university is a private school which means that tuition is rather expensive, but this school is worth every penny that is spent on it. the facilities at the school are exceptional, with new construction going on all the time. liberty is currently working on building a brand new library, along with tearing down old dorms and replacing them all within the nest few years. the professors are some of the most respecting in the teaching community, many are experts in their field also have been on shows on the history channel and have written many books. at convocation the speakers that come are for the most part exceptional, in my time here i have heard almost every single one of the gop nominees for 2012 speak, as well as other important people from across the world.
Great for these types of students this school is great for anyone to come to, but there are rules here so be prepared to abide by them, fortunately though they are not hard to follow.
Clubs and Activities there are a wide range and variety of clubs and activities that students can get involved in. from debate team to comic book club we virtually have them all. there are also special interest groups for those who consider themselves to be activists to get into as well.
Greek Life liberty university does not have sororities or fraternities.
Campus Safety liberty university has it's own on campus police force that patrols the campus all night checking to make sure that there is nothing suspicious going on since this is an open campus. they provide their numbers to those who need it and will even provide students escorts if they are returning to their dorms late at night and they feel unsafe walking back by themselves. liberty has taken the extra precautions needed to protect their students.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty is a great school for those seeking a christian education. it has a big campus feel yet is still grounded in god's word. it is tons of fun, there's great people, and has great facilities.
Tips for prospective students make sure to never call the reber-thomas dining hall by its full name. call it the rot. don't waste time waiting for buses. don't forget you clicker. use skip days wisely.
Academic Rigor the classes aren't too hard but some are a bit challenging. the more you put into class and work the more you'll get out of it.
Dorm Life dorm life is fun depending on the people and ra's on your hall. i have a great hall with great guys and 2 of the best ra's.
Food and Dining there are many choices for food on campus and most of it tastes great! especially the bistro!
What to do for fun snowflex, weight room, pool, tilley, ping-pong, movie nights, dollar theater, disc golf, soccer, ultimate, hiking, and a lot more.
Bang for the buck liberty is expensive but it is better than i imagined!

Tips for prospective students if you can come to college for a weekend. spending a whole weekend at liberty will help you decide if you want to come or not.
Academic Rigor it all depends on what your major is going to be, but the required classes are not bad.
Dorm Life fantastic! everyone knows how to have a good time, you should never have to anything by yourself on, there are people of all types here.
Food and Dining the dinning hall is okay on some days, but there is a lot of good restaurants near the campus.

Tips for prospective students be prepared to grow not only academically but to also be challenged spiritually.
Academic Rigor classes always depend on the professors, but many of the professors teach with a passion that allows them to relate to the students.
Dorm Life no other campus can compare to the dorm life at lu. the brother-sister dorm clause along with dorm leadership creates a togetherness among individuals that is unique among colleges.
Food and Dining the school is progressively improving upon the dining service for students.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty university is about to become the latest it college. the gym and training grounds for the ncaa division i athletes are one of the premier in the country, their snowflex mountain attracts olympic hopefuls - one such skier was training there while i was on a campus visit, and their online program for students is diverse and expansive.
Tips for prospective students find your little niche. as a large university, it can be easy to get lost in the crowd if you don't make a place for yourself. as an online student, i've found it easy to connect with others and build solid working relationships while in the class.
Academic Rigor there are some professors that stand out for being especially rigorous, but for the most part, my classes with lu have been easy. note: i am an online student; residential students may experience something different. however, if you are a fairly good writer, you should have no problem receiving a's in your classes - online at least.
Dorm Life i cannot speak from personal experience, but i do know they try very hard to incorporate strong communities into the dorm life. i stayed in the apartments while on campus and was pleasantly surprised by the new wood floors, comfortable living arrangement, and nicely constructed buildings.
Food and Dining personally, i found the food to be lacking and the dining situation to be awkward. especially so, given the large student body. i think the next thing liberty university should look to upgrade is their cafeteria and caterers, and perhaps look to add more eating venues.
What to do for fun there's a ton to do if you're into sports or music. many students also get involved in their outstanding drama productions. with a campus that large, there are numerous student organizations that one can join or even start.
Bang for the buck for a private school, the cost of attending lu as a residential student is well within reason. online tuition rate is even lower, so that is definitely worth the money. in addition, students can transfer in up to 90 credits through college credit, clep, dsst, or other cbe tests which are a great way to save even more money. overall, this school can be very affordable and offers a lot for the cost.
Great for these types of students ncaa division i athletes, musicians, outgoing people who stand out in the crowd. online is great for full-time workers, people looking for an inexpensive degree, or motivated self-learners.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences liberty is an absolutely fantastic school due to its involved staff, passionate students, and overall christian experience. as a christian school it carries certain stigmas, but i have found that despite the rules that are just there to protect us, all students are able and given many opportunities to have fun during their college experience. i am so proud to attend liberty university, where they truly do train champions for christ to go out into the work field and disciple to all.
Tips for prospective students i would suggest to any student attending liberty to go out and meet as many people as possible. there are many activities throughout the school year designed for students to meet each other, all of which are a lot of fun. i would also suggest that each student goes up to the monogram or snowflex as much as possible. the monogram is atop a magnificent mountain overlooking all of lynchburg, and snowflex is the year-round slope that is free to all students. in short, take advantage of as many opportunities that liberty makes happen as you possibly can.
Academic Rigor while liberty accepts over 90% of applicants, but is very strict on a student's academic progress throughout the years enrolled. failing more than two classes will get you on academic probation. liberty professors work hard to ensure that you are doing your best in the classroom, but they can not hold your hand throughout your college years. a lot responsibility falls upon you to keep your grades up and ensure that you have what you need to achieve this.
Dorm Life dorm life is one of the best aspects of liberty. there are several options as far as the type of dorm a student may want to live in. the quads are composed of a common room with a kitchen, five bedrooms (each holding two people), and two bathrooms. there are four of these on each floor. the hill is, as the name suggests, on a hill. the style of these dorms is community style, with one long hall and two bathrooms with several showers and toilets. dorms on the circle are the same style. across the highway on east campus (which is connected to main campus with both a tunnel and a bridge) which is more apartment style housing. all dorms have two resident assistants which serve to keep order in the dorm per hall, two spiritual life directors per hall who serve to ensure that all students are doing well spiritually, and several prayer leaders who host prayer groups once a week. there is much variety as far as the style of housing, and all dorms work hard to ensure community and friendship. no dorms are co-ed, however each sister (female) dorm is assigned a brother (male) dorm. these dorms do activities with each other around campus.
Food and Dining food is excellent at liberty. the reber-thomas dining hall, affectionately called the rot, is the main dining hall on campus which has a lot of variety in its dishes. there is a section within that caters to those with gluten-free diets. the hangar is a smaller food court which accepts money, flames cash, or dining dollars. there is variety there as well, including names we all know, like pizza hut. jazzman's is a coffee shop located on the second floor of the library. there is also a starbucks in the bookstore. the keyhole is a small convenience store on campus. several off campus locations accept flames cash, so many students are able to go to their favorite restaurants using their id card.
What to do for fun on liberty's campus there are several activities to partake in. there are several intramural teams including soccer and ultimate frisbee. there are several fields and courts for various sports if students ever want to get a team together for a few hours. liberty has an ice skating rink primarily used for the hockey teams, but is often open for all students for late skate nights. liberty has a year-round ski slope that is free to all students, as are lessons for either skiing or snowboarding. liberty hosts open mics in the student center every other monday. almost every weekend there is a school wide activity happening.
Bang for the buck while liberty may be an expensive school to some, but it offers many scholarships to help with those expenses. at liberty, students definitely get a good bang for their buck, as liberty owns several locations around lynchburg that are free to students, including a racket ball court. lynchburg offers many excellent activities for students that are free, including snowflex, the year-round ski slope.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus many students spray paint the spirit rock that liberty has on campus. the main building, demoss hall, is characterized by its huge pillars and steps leading up to the doors. these steps have huge railings lining made of concrete, about 5 feet in width. many students like to take chairs and tables up to the railings and sit there on sunny days.
Great for these types of students liberty is great for students looking for a large school with a lot of opportunities in a more rural setting. liberty is located in lynchburg city, but it is at the foot of liberty mountain. looking to the east when on campus, the mountains are seen. looking to the west, wards rd is seen which is full of stores and restaurants. lynchburg is a smaller city, so if a student is looking for a quieter place that still has things to do, liberty is a great place for that. liberty is also great for those looking for a christian experience without being too heavy on rules or restrictions. liberty still allows students to be who they are. liberty's intention is to train students in various fields in the work force, as well as to train them to be champions for christ.
Clubs and Activities there are several clubs on campus from a pro-life club to the interior design club. there are several activities as well, such as open mic, late skate night, sports games, movie nights (which take place in a field with a huge projector screen), and many more.
Greek Life liberty does not take place in the greek life. however, there are still several clubs and activities and opportunities for fellowship among students.
Campus Safety liberty has its own police department whose only jurisdiction is on campus, meaning their full attention is on liberty's safety. lupd is found surveying campus at night to ensure safety in all places. they are also at every sport game on campus and at every convocation. liberty takes pride in its campus safety.

Tips for prospective students This school is not for everybody. Along with a great education, students receive The Word of God. If anyone is interested, come with a thirst and desire to learn everything this school throws at you. Also, in your down time, liberty has plenty of extra-curricular activities to get involved in such as intramural sports and clubs.
Academic Rigor I am a freshman here at Liberty and the work for the first year is not hard. I would pesonally reccomend a planner to plan each day accordingly so no one would get behind in studies, activities, and deadlines.
Dorm Life The dorms are decent. I stay in Campus East which is the best dorms to stay in. I was placed there because the cheaper ones were full. Aside from the rooms, East dorms come with a kitchen, sink, large refrigerator, dish washer, dining table, stove, and living room furniture. In the rooms are 2 or 3 beds, a personal bathroom and walk-in closet.

Bang for the buck It is the largest, private Christian university but still one of the least expensive one can find. Because of its size, it offers a lot more on-campus opportunities and activities than a smaller school can.

All my studying for test seems like review from class and never like I am teaching myself something.
Am enjoying being here The environment is including and active. I am comfortable with everything they provide for students including things like free concerts and school-wide talent shows. Free snow-flex (alternative ski mountain) and skate park make thrill seeking easy
Bang for the buck Liberty isn't a 5 star resort but definitely adequate living conditions and many people there are genuine and easy to get along with.
Tips for prospective students Try other dining options besides the Reber Thomas Dining Hall. Do not go here if you are planing on partying, it's hard to get away with and not worth it.

Am enjoying being here Living at Liberty is AMAZING. I love my room mates and dorm mates. I travelled this past summer with 28 other Liberty students to work at a camp in the Bahamas. We are still very close and meet up regularly.
Bang for the buck The is academically demanding so I think that makes my parents happy. The school goes to great lengths to offer its students the opportunity to get involved in many sports and activities, as well as, the community.
Tips for prospective students When you are making your schedule for the first time, use one of the school advisers. Mine asked if I was a morning person, when I said no we worked out a schedule that suited me best.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Every day that I am at Liberty University I learn something. Whether it's in the classroom or in hall meeting or in convocation. When it was time for me to choose a college I was torn between Liberty or a community college. I'm so glad I choose Liberty. I'm hoping that with the help of scholarships and friends and family that I will be able to continue my learning here at Liberty.
Am enjoying being here I am enjoying being at Liberty. I have found a place where i'm not just another person but I actually have a face and a name. The people are so friendly and I have found some awesome friends that I know that I will have for life. Along with academics there is so much more to do and It's nice to have something going on so when you're not studying you can hang out with friends at some fun place on campus.
Bang for the buck Liberty is a little bit on the expensive side. But I feel that once you are there and you are giving it your all and really trying your best in all your classes while having a fun time, its worth it. Liberty also has an office dedicated to just scholarships and helping the students pay for college. There main priority is to help you further your education.
Tips for prospective students Going to Liberty is a great experience for you. If you're going to Liberty and you and your family don't have a lot of money my suggestion would be to apply for as many scholarships as possible. Also once you get there try to get an on campus job right away, it will be worth it. And also don't let going out and spending a lot of money be one of the main things you do. You will suffer from it later on in the future. Other than that focus on school work and enjoy these years cause they don't last forever.
Great for these types of students Liberty is great for all types of students. I don't know of a subject Liberty doesn't have. Liberty has an awesome education program as well as Bible and music. But Liberty is for anyone and everyone. If you can't afford to live on campus you can take online classes which are just as good as being in class.

Bang for the buck Famous and important people come to speak in our convocations. Some people that have come just in the fall of 2011 are The Douggar Family, Francis Chan, Rick Warren, Derwin Gray from the NFL, and many more.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned so much since coming to LU. Because this is a liberal arts school, you are required to dabble in a little bit of everything-science, math, history, English, etc. However, because this is a CHRISTIAN liberal arts school, we also are required to dabble in learning theological things-Bible survey courses, philosophy, theology, etc. It is more of a classical way of learning and it makes you grow academically and personally. I'm actually using the stuff I've learned here in conversations with friends.
Am enjoying being here This place rocks! The people are here are great and genuinely interested in what concerns you, students and professors alike. There are people on campus who pray for you by name everyday. You are not a number in this large school, where it would be very easy to be a number. People know who you are as a person and care about you genuinely. They want God's best for you.
Bang for the buck For a private school, this is a reasonable price. You get the academic quality of a small private school plus the big state school feel with D1 athletics and fun student activities (most of which are free or under $5). It's the best of both worlds!
Tips for prospective students Be ready for ANYTHING-your life will be changed.
There are rules, but they're really not that bad. It actually preps you for the career world, where there is a dress code.
It's big, but don't let it scare you. You make awesome friends within a couple of weeks and pretty soon, you have a group you like to hang out with.Great for these types of students Enjoy having to choose from numerous activities.

Am enjoying being here As always, your college experience depends on those around you. Many of the teachers are great; firm, but fair.
Bang for the buck I knew it would be expensive, being a private school, but you really do get what you pay for.
Tips for prospective students Communicate with your teachers! They're very understanding if you talk to them beforehand, not after.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot I watched my older sis all the way through her degree at Liberty. I'm getting a different major than her, but I am looking at great quality classes. She learned a lot. And from what I've seen of the homework and stuff, you have to learn your stuff and show you know it.
Will enjoy being here I will be doing their online program, but I am expecting I will enjoy my studies. My one disappointment is they dont have art related classes online. But besides that, everything is good!
Bang for the buck Its a little expensive. But for a private Christian college, really its not that bad. For what you get out of the classes, and the credible degree you get... its really not bad.
Great for these types of students Liberty (especially the online program) is best for studnets who excel in reading and writing. Becuase you dont attend lectures, most of the student's intake is from reading. And most homework involves extensive writing.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot Liberty is great for learning. I have several friends that have gone and still go there and will soon be going there and they have all shared that it is a great school for learning both book knowledge and the knowledge of Christ.
Will enjoy being here I've never heard a bad thing about Liberty, everything I've seen and experienced has been positive it is a very opening and place. Everyone is willing to meet and become acquainted with everyone else and it goes to show that Christ lives through these people
Bang for the buck Although it is a bit pricey for a college when you look at the fact that it is both christian and private it is a great price. They offer a ton of merit scholarships and service opportunities to make the college experience more tolerable.
Tips for prospective students Keep working, Liberty has a great rate of accepted students but don't stop working the harder you work the more scholarship opportunities and more overall opportunities will open to you.
Great for these types of students Hardworking, Christian, faithful, social, loving.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have honestly learned more in the month and a half I have been at Liberty than I did in four years of high school. Every day, I learn something new and interesting. The Professors are so passionate about what they teach. And even though a lot of classes are huge, they really care about the students. You can go up to the Professor before class and they will actually listen. I feel like I can go to my professors about anything. I love how we also pray before every class. Some of my professors even find Bible verses related to the class. It's pretty awesome.
Am enjoying being here Liberty is great. God put me here and I am so thankful for it. Most of the students are really nice and caring. Yes, there are some rude people but you find that everywhere. We have a lot of fun too! The football games are just plain epic. Even if you don't like the game, attend one. I attended my first football game three weeks ago and had a blast. The school spirit is amazing! Even when we lose, we still have tons of fun.
Bang for the buck Liberty is a bit on the pricey side but it's a good investment. The academics are top notch. There are a couple of things that I would not want to pay so much for though. The parking situation here is a little crappy because there are so many students. The food is okay but it could be better. And the bus system is very unreliable. You never know when it will show up at the bus stop or sometimes it won't even stop!
Tips for prospective students First, make sure you research the college and make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Liberty isn't for everyone. When I mean research, I mean dig deep. Make sure you know the deadlines for everything especially Financial Check-in. Attend College For a Weekend before you make a final decision. It's fun and you get to learn a lot about the school. You get free stuff too! If you have already payed your confirmation deposit, you can attend for free. Read the Liberty Way before you come because they do enforce rules. You get used to them but if you don't know about them before hand, you could get in some serious trouble.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot There is such an amazing variety of classes, especially for a partially online college!
Will enjoy being here The Bachelor's of Education program, into which I am accepted, is wonderful! Not only is it completely online, allowing for a greater range of flexibility than other programs offer, but it also offers many classes which can be tested out of by the ICE, DSST, or CLEP!
Bang for the buck There are many different tools that Liberty Online offers to help students, and the advisors really want to help.
Tips for prospective students First of all, Liberty offers many DSSTs and CLEPs. Take advantage of that! Second, if your Webmail errs as mine did, get ahold of a HelpDesk Agent by phone. Talking to someone is much less confusing than trying to follow written directions; and an Agent can do for you what a tutorial can't. I called the HelpDesk, and within minutes, an Agent figured out my problem and fixed my account. Now it functions perfectly.
Great for these types of students Whether you're reserved or adventurous, studious or social, Liberty has something for you. :)

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Liberty offers many different areas of study and unique classes. I feel that they could expand and bring in some more degree programs such as anthropology or archaeology.
While I feel that they do provide students with good educations I also feel that they bring God into their courses far too much. Of course this is a Christian school so that is to be expected but when I feel that I am learning more about the Bible in my statistics course, something is not right. I feel that they force the Bible into places that it does not particularly fit.
People go to college to learn about many things and though students at Liberty expect to learn more about God, being at a Christian school and all, I feel they also expect to learn more about their actual courses of study as well so that they can succeed in their future endeavors and careers.
I feel that Liberty also does not do a great job preparing it's students for the real world. Many consider Liberty to be a bubble and from personal experience, that is exactly what it is. Liberty does not prepare its students for the rawness and the toughness of the real world. They make their students believe that the world is all rainbows, sunshine, and praise songs. That is not the case.Am enjoying being here Overall I really loved being at Liberty. I met some great people and made terrific friends and made many great memories their. The dorms are a bit lacking on main campus and I feel that they could use a good sprucing up, though the quads are fairly nice though the rooms are rather small, very close quarters, especially if you end up with a roommate you're not particularly fond of. The east campus dorms are very nice however. Liberty has a lot of things to do on campus such as open mic nights, concerts, a large gym and an indoor pool, an outdoor pool on east campus, a paintball course, trails for running/biking/etc, snowflex, a diner, etc. There is so much to do on campus, its really neat but that is probably one reason why Liberty is considered such a bubble.
Bang for the buck Liberty is REALLY expensive! I think is it way overpriced for residential students, its kind of ridiculous. However they do have Liberty Online which I am currently a student of after being a residential student just got far too expensive. I wish Liberty Online had more options for degrees of study but its really not a bad Online program. Compared to other online programs Liberty is one of the least expensive but it is also fairly highly rated. Its a little annoying that the tuition keeps going up every semester but it still remains the most inexpensive of online college programs and we're in a recession so it is to be expected, right?
Tips for prospective students My tips for prospective students would to be to consider their Online program instead of being a residential student because it is so much more economical and gives your schedule incredible flexibility if you have other obligations such as family, a job, or what have you. If you do have the money to go to Liberty as a residential student then by all means go there if you so please, however if you have the money to go to Liberty I would suggest using that money to go to a different school that will provide you with a better education and that will prepare you for the future.
Great for these types of students Students who want to get an education in a Christian setting. Although I feel their education lacks compared to other schools but if you want that Christian setting this is a great school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Ever since coming to Liberty last spring, I have learned so much. And not just from the professors, but from the students too. Everyone here is so open and friendly and willing to help, as long as you have the courage to ask. The atmosphere is so encouraging; it makes the students want to try their best and accomplish great things.
Am enjoying being here I LOVE being at Liberty! There is so much to do here, I'm still learning and this is my second semester. There's sporting events of all kinds (along with being an NCAA Division I school, there are also TONS of intramural sports to get involved with), movie nights with free refreshments, karaoke nights in the student union (aka the Tilley) concerts with well-known bands (Skillet is coming in December, woot woot!!) and so much more. There's paintball, there's archery. You can go to snow-flex (the mountain near the school is covered in artificial snow allowing you to ski, snowboard, and tube any time of the year). And then off campus you can go salsa dancing, swing dancing, head down to the dollar theatre, or you can go to every college student's favorite place: Walmart. There are always exciting things going on at Liberty, from white-water rafting trips to hiking trips to canoeing trips to horse-back riding. I'm pretty sure the only thing Liberty doesn't have is a roller coaster. They even built a skate park recently! I'm telling you, don't listen to people who say that Liberty is boring. There is ALWAYS fun stuff going on here.
Bang for the buck For a private university, Liberty is definitely extremely affordable. It does get a little expensive now and then, but the financial aid office is so friendly and helpful. When they say they will do everything in their power to find you more money they mean it. You just have to keep on asking. I know from personal experience that if you keep asking for money they will find some for you. And they have such a broad range of scholarships, there's something for everyone.
Tips for prospective students 1. Don't be shy. Get involved. Meet new people. Experience new things.
2. Don't be afraid of getting on the buses and getting lost. Everyone does, even the people who have been going here for a year or two already.
3. Don't forget to sign out at night.
4. If you do forget to sign out at night, call your roommate. 9 times out of 10 they'll do it for you (even though they're not supposed to ;] )
5. Don't expect the buses to be there on time. More often than not they're late. My rule of thumb is, if I have to go more than 25 minutes walk away, I'll take the bus. And when I choose a bus time, I choose it so that its a good 20 minutes before I have to be to my class. It usually gives me time in case the bus is late.
6. Basically, you're here to learn. We all know this. But don't be afraid to get out there and have fun too. And just be yourself. Nobody here will judge you.Great for these types of students Great for all types of students. Yes it is a Christian University, but everyone is welcome. It's a fully accredited university, so I promise your education will not be lacking, and you just might enjoy hearing and experiencing a different point of view.

Am enjoying being here The people here are awesome, campus life is great, and there's a ton of stuff to do.
Bang for the buck It's been completely worth my time and money. The classes and professors are excellent, the dorms are good, and the campus is nice too.
Tips for prospective students Avoid taking classes at North campus immediately after convocation.
