Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The quality of the education and professors at Marquette University is excellent. All of my professors last year were extremely knowledgeable and besides teaching the curriculum, they also taught life lessons and gave advice.
Am enjoying being here I live six hours away from Milwuakee but after attending my first year at Marquette, I feel like Milwaukee and the Marquette campus is my new home. I did not know a sinlge person going to Marquette my freshman year but the second I stepped foot on campus I began meeting people. Everyone on campus is so nice and friendly. All of my new college friends enhanced my college experience. Furthermore, there is nothing more exciting and fun than a Marquette University basketball game. Everyone who attends Marquette University loves it and they're not afraid to show it. No matter where you walk on campus, you will see students wearing their bright gold Golden Eagles' attire.
Bang for the buck Although the tuition is pretty steep, it is totally worth it. Of course it is more expensive than state schools because it is a private, Catholic university. Marquette University realizes that the tuition is pricey and they help their students afford their education. Furthermore, you are paying for the quality of the education and professors. Honestly, the experience and education provided at Marquette University is priceless.
Tips for prospective students The most important piece of information is to visit the schools you are interested in. A school can look completely different on a page and in person. When you walk through the campus of the school you will attend, you will just feel like it is home and you will know it is the school for you. Also, when you visit the different schools, plan a campus tour. The tours are given by current students who will show you around, explain the history of the school, provide advice, and answer all of your questions. After you tour the campus, be sure to walk around and talk to random students strolling through campus. These students can provide different points of views and answer any other questions. They will not be scared to tell you the truth.
Great for these types of students Marquette University is perfect for students who are serious about their education. During the week everyone attends class and spends countless hours studying at the library while they sip their coffee. It can be quite competitive in terms of academics. Yet, once Friday rolls around, the students are stress-free and ready to have fun. Since the campus is in downtown Milwaukee, there is always something to do in the city or on campus. Marquette is also great for students looking for a medium-size school. The classes are similar to the size of high school classes so professors know your name and are always there to help or simply talk. For those students who are sports fans, welcome to Marquette Golden Eagles! Marquette basketball, soccer, and volleyball are the big sports on campus. When basketball season rolls around, the whole campus is on fire. It is impossible to describe an experience at a men's basketball game, but I will try. The arena is packed with die-hard fans, sporting their navy and gold gear, cheering and singing the Marquette fight song. Just visit the Marquette University campus and you will understand why everyone who attends Marquette loves it.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Going into my first year of college I was worried I wouldn't be fully prepared for the academic side of school. But when I got there that fear went straight out of my mind. All of my professors were extremely helpful in the transition from high school to college life. The courses were not easy and I had to work hard, but through working hard on my own and with the professors, who really make themselves available to their students, I was able to understand all of the advanced concepts they were teaching in class. I felt so much more intelligent returning home after my first semester. I was able to engage in actual adult conversations with my parents and their friends because I was well informed and understood what was going on. It was an incredible feeling and I don't know how I could have lived without it for so long.
Am enjoying being here I honestly struggled when I first got to Marquette to make friends. I was shy and unlike most of the students I was from a small public school in the middle of Kentucky, I was worried I wouldn't fit in. But when I finally stepped outside of my comfort zone I met some of the most amazing people who I know will be my friends for life. Besides all the wonderful people and staff, the campus itself is beautiful. Milwaukee is a great city for a university. The city is the perfect size which gives the feeling of a close-knit tie to the community and a feeling of being safe in your surroundings. Another selling point is even though you are in a city, when you are in the middle of campus you can't even tell. You can not hear the hustle of the city standing in the middle of the academic buildings, which is wonderful when your trying to study out on the grass on one of those beautiful Wisconsin days. I love Marquette, I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else.
Bang for the buck Being completely honest Marquette is an expensive school and I do struggle to pay every semester to continue to attend but for the connections made with students and professors it is absolutely worth it. You learn so much and meet so many people you are definitely getting your bang for the buck.
Tips for prospective students Go for a campus visit! You'll know right then whether or not Marquette is the school for you.
Great for these types of students Marquette is great for all types of students. Students who are social will certainly florish here, but so will students who normally keep to themselves. There are many opportunities for students who enjoy community service work as well because of the city setting. Marquette is not for a student wanting a closed campus, because we are in the middle of Milwaukee spreading from 10th down to about 19th Street. And even though the undergraduate level can be considered large, the class sizes are small and you are not just a number.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot My classes are excellent and I am learning so much in a relatively short period of time. The material covered in the classes is challenging as well as engaging. The classes that are specific to my major have been really interesting and have kept me excited to go to class and learn. Further, the classes required by the Core of Common Studies, such as English, theology, and philosophy, have allowed me to learn more about many different topics, cultures, and societies and have taught me how to relate to others at a higher level. After only my first semester, I feel that I have become a very well rounded individual through my education at Marquette thus far. Not only am I learning an immense amount in my lectures, but the learning has also gone beyond the classroom. Marquette makes service an important part of your learning experience. There are so many opportunities to volunteer through your classes and through the Office of Student Development. Through doing service in the community, I have learned firsthand about the poverty present in Milwaukee and how I can make a positive difference.
Am enjoying being here I am not only enjoying Marquette, I love it. The class sizes are perfect. As a freshman, my smallest class (ENG 1001) had 20 students. It was amazing because I was able to get to know everyone in my class and it fostered an excellent learning environment. My general chemistry class (CHEM 1001) had the most students, with about 250 enrolled. However, I was able to get to know all of my professors regardless of the class size. The professors at Marquette are great about giving you extra help if you express that you would like some. I am able to e-mail my professors and set up appointments to meet with them to review and clear-up confusing material. Additionally, Marquette is big enough that you do not know everyone, but small enough that you see familiar faces often. Before I started at Marquette, I was really worried about making friends and meeting new people. However, the orientation I attended when I first arrived at Marquette made it very easy. By the end of the first night of orientation, I had made so many friends and actually met my three current best friends at the university. Furthermore, there are countless activities to get involved in outside of the classroom that will help you meet other students with similar interests. From volunteering to intramural sports teams, Marquette has about every club or organization you can imagine. I belong to three different organizations, am a member of STAR (students taking active roles), and am a leader on the Hunger Clean-Up Public Relations Committee. Also, I volunteer and have a part-time job. Marquette really makes an effort to give you the opportunities you need to be successful after graduating and if you take advantage of them, you will be well on your way to achieving your aspirations.
Bang for the buck Although Marquette is a very expensive school, it is worth every penny. If you work hard in high school and receive different scholarships, you can keep the cost comparable to a public college. Since it is a private school, the education overall is of the highest quality. Basically, you get what you pay for. I went to a public high school and the education at Marquette is so much better. The professors care more because you are paying their salary. Furthermore, you receive a U-Pass with your tuition and this allows you to explore many parts of Milwaukee. I have found it very useful and it has saved me quite a bit of money. Further, there are many free events to attend, such as Late Night Marquette, that gives you an opportunity to hang out with friends and do different activities like tie-dying t-shirts or carving pumpkins.
Tips for prospective students I suggest that prospective students sign-up to attend a shadow day at Marquette. A shadow experience will allow you to get a good feel of the school and will let you see if you feel comfortable with the classes (material, size, style) and overall campus environment. I was completely set on going to the University of Wisconsin Madison; however, I then shadowed a student and realized that Madison was not the place for me with the large class sizes and impersonal qualities of the University. Now I am at Marquette and love it because it is personal, not too big or small, and has endless opportunities. Further, talk to current students and ask questions. The university has set-up different facebook groups for prospective students to ask questions and get real answers. Lastly, talk to advisors about majors and classes. Make sure Marquette has good opportunities for your career choice and interests.
Great for these types of students If you like to be able to ask questions and meet with your professors, Marquette is the place for you. You are by no means a number at a Marquette. The university treats every student as a individual and the staff will do everything they can to help you make decisions and succeed. Marquette is a place where students have the opportunity to get involved on campus and make their college experience unique. The classes are challenging and you have to be willing to study, but if you put in the time and effort, you will love Marquette.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The education here at Marquette is outstanding! The professors are very organized and will tell you the first day of class what is expected throughout the semester and what it will take to earn that A. Every professor has office hours during which you can go in, chit chat, get homework help, or a better understanding of lecture material. Many professors go where students study just to talk with them or help them with anything they need. The atmosphere and the faculty and staff is what made me want to come to Marquette!
Am enjoying being here I have never met a person who came to Marquette and was not absolutely in love with this school! Being in downtown Milwaukee, this campus is surrounded by great places to go with friends and family, and the students are always ready to have a good time when the time comes! The Eagle Ballroom is a couple blocks away which makes it super easy to go to a great concert any given weekend. Summers in Milwaukee are also great because of Summerfest, Brewers games (even though I'm a die-hard Cubs fan!), and the museums, only a short bus ride away. Anyone who's a sports fan will enjoy Marquette come basketball time! The students take over Bradley Center and really show their school pride throughout the whole game, win or lose! The whole campus is a family!
Bang for the buck The tuition is STEEP! But it is very much worth it. The education you receive here will teach you leadership, professionalism, and provide you with so many opportunities as you grow as student.
Tips for prospective students Some tips for incoming and prospective students is to apply for scholarships before you come here! Many scholarships available to incoming/prospective students are renewing scholarships, meaning you won't ever have to apply for them again! It can really lift a burden from your shoulders (and your parents!) if you receive any.
Another tip I have to get involved early! There is an event called O-Fest in the beginning of the fall where all the student organizations go on campus to recruit you! Get involved with as many as you can, believe me, you will have time your freshmen year! As you get older, you can decide which organizations mean the most to you and stick with them.
Get out and enjoy the city! You get a free U-Pass as a full-time student which gives you free public transportation. Explore Milwaukee!Great for these types of students Marquette is great for any student who really wants to get a great education and also have fun. It's size is just right for someone wanting to enjoy great big opportunities, yet small enough that the professors will remember your name. Marquette has a diverse course of studies and is constantly trying to grow!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have just completed the first semester of my freshman year and am amazed by how much I have learned, both inside and outside the classroom. High school prepared me well for the challenging courses, but at Marquette, everything came full circle. I was able to connect facts from Biology to formulas learned in Chemistry and relate information from Theology to dates I had learned in high school history courses. There are so many course options, opportunities to study abroad (which many upperclassmen recommend- learning about another culture first-hand is a plus!), and participate in research with faculty. The professors are willing to help, whether it is during their office hours or after class.
Am enjoying being here After visiting Marquette for the first time, I knew that it was the right school for me. Campus is downtown Milwaukee- which is very exciting- but when I am walking to class near the beautiful chapel, flower garden, and huge green space, I don't even realize that I am in the city. I have met so many unique people and had many exciting experiences. There is always something going on, whether its a basketball game at the Bradley Center, a scavenger hunt around the city of Milwaukee with friends from your dorm, Marquette's own version of Iron Chef, or a pick-up game of soccer, Frisbee, or football wherever there's room. As a sophomore, I hope to work as a campus tour guide in order to show others all that Marquette has to offer. I truly feel at home. We are Marquette!
Bang for the buck Marquette is a private university, which does make it more expensive than a private school. Remember to file the FAFSA, which can help you qualify for grants or student loans. There are also many private scholarships available, both on the Marquette website and in your local community. Make a list of high school extracurriculars, academics, and volunteer work to make this process easier. The buildings on campus are all very nice and the dorm rooms are very well kept. The food in the dining halls, coffee shops, and Marquette Place, which features sushi, submarine sandwiches, a made-to-order burger restaurant, salads, bagels, and burritos, is very good. Many Milwaukee organizations and business support Marquette, and it seems like there is always an opportunity for a free t-shirt or notepad. The opportunities provided make the price tag well worth it.
Tips for prospective students Participate in as many activities as possible, especially during the days of freshman orientation! There is an opportunity to take a riverboat cruise, attend a Brewer game, learn how to salsa, play capture the flag at midnight, and go to a square dance. You get paired up with a partner and attend the dance together- it was a lot of fun! Join a group focusing on your major, play intramural sports, or volunteer. Just remember not to overload on activities before you know what you have time for. Most importantly, find a favorite place to study, such as the library, coffee shop, or academic building (Cudahy Hall is good). That will come in handy if you find that it's hard to concentrate in your dorm room.
Great for these types of students Make sure that you would be comfortable in an urban environment- the city of Milwaukee does have a population of more than 600,000. Students feel very safe on campus thanks to the blue light phones that allow you to call for emergency or non-emergency assistance (whenever you stand at a blue light, you should be able to see another), Public Safety officers, LIMOS (vans that transport students from one campus location to the next during night hours), and student safety officers walking in groups of two that can escort you to your destination. Be prepared to have a great time at Marquette! You will be well prepared for your future career.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have learned more in my year at Marquette than I did all throughout high school. My classes are challenging, yet doable when enough effort it put into them. I am also am taking classes that interest me, which makes me want to do better in them. The professors can be very helpful, you just need to go in and talk to them and ask for help.
Am enjoying being here Love love love it here. There is always something going on around campus, and with it being right in the city, there is always something to do. The students are great, and there is a great atmosphere here. Can't complain!
Bang for the buck Marquette tuition is very expense, however the university is very good at giving scholarships to students. I was not an outstanding student in high school, fairly average, and I received a small scholarship. It is a great university, so with the scholarships I think it is well worth it.
Tips for prospective students Come tour campus! you will get a great feel for the university and will get to experience everything first hand. Also, take AP or IB classes in high school, the transfer credits help out!
Great for these types of students If you like an urban environment and a medium sized school.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Information is something you can find just about anywhere. Marquette teaches you about thinking a bit deeper than what the teacher says in class or what you read in a book. I have learned to challenge my ideas and approach towards life, because knowledge about others increases our own self awareness. Marquette also stresses the importance of doing what you love. If you find out what truly makes your heart sing, you will find solace wherever life may take you.
Am enjoying being here I have enjoyed going to school all my life. I do not know what it is that makes me want to go to school every day, but it has always been there, and I think it always will be. At Marquette, school is every moment of the day. No, I am not constantly studying or in class, but the environment always has the community aspect of school. Whether at a basketball game or going to church, everything has the spirit of Marquette ingrained in it. If it is absent, you will learn to embody it and carry it wherever you go.
Bang for the buck Money was the only thing barring me from an easy decision of which college I should attend. I just could not believe how much money it cost to go to Marquette or any school in general. In the end, I set the money issue aside and made my decision based on the program which I was accepted into and how much I enjoyed Marquette. Some days I still ponder what it would be like at other places, with a lot less debt after one year. Then I think about how much I love Marquette and I cannot see myself anywhere else. Yes, it is challenging to figure out how I can pay for school and it will only get worse. If you love your education at Marquette, the price will not get in your way. It may not be the place for everyone, but for those who call it home, the expense is all worth it.
Tips for prospective students The most important thing to do is to be yourself. Do what you did to get into Marquette. You will probably have to do a lot more work and put many hours into reading, but it is college, it should be a challenge. Get plenty of sleep. There are so many people sleeping in class, when they should probably be taking notes. I take my naps after class, just about anywhere. I get more done and feel better each morning. Don't let others dictate who you are or what you do. You will find out how much time it takes to write a college paper, and that might mean not hanging out on the weekend. If you manage your time and get your work done, there is plenty of time for friends and fun. Get involved and do some random volunteer activities sometimes. I met one of my best friends volunteering on the first weekend, before school even started. Keep in touch with your high school friends, and take a step back once in a while. You will be amazed and hopefully impressed by how much you have grown in such a short time through new friendships and experiences.
Great for these types of students If you want to discover more about yourself and challenge your mind, you will find a home at Marquette. It is a place for those who want more that to get a college experience, but to create one that lasts with them for a lifetime. Marquette is a place full of students dedicated to their school, community, and each other, where learning and life go hand in hand.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Marquette’s Jesuit tradition is the basis of its academic excellence. The professors and students all share the same desire to teach and be taught, to learn and to discover. I feel completely comfortable approaching my college professor with questions—as comfortable as I was in high school. There are so many opportunities to expand your studies—from study abroad programs to internships to even designing your own major. The professors show an interest in your well-being, many even offer extended office hours.
Am enjoying being here Something about Marquette just clicked for me. It was a beautiful campus established around a strong tradition. Milwaukee is close enough to my home that I don’t feel isolated, but far enough away that I feel I’ve left. Marquette may not be a large state school, but it still has numerous resources available for its students. I have had an amazing time at Marquette! I already feel like I am part of the Marquette family, and I’ve only been here for a semester!
The thing that attracted me the most to Marquette was the close, family environment. The school is small enough that you’re not “just a number,” you feel like you’re part of a close-knit community. Just like any community, Marquette’s community offers plenty of opportunities to get involved. There are over 200 student clubs and organizations to get involved in, from musical and performing arts to service projects and athletics. With so many things to choose from, you are bound to find something that fits your personality and interests. One of the most popular is the FANatics—our student fan section. We dress up in our gold and blue and passionately support our sports teams, especially men’s basketball! The energy in the arena is outrageous.Bang for the buck Although Marquette is a private school and can have a hefty price tag (albeit not as hefty as other school), they do a very good job of offering scholarships and financial aid to anyone and everyone. There are many opportunities to lower tuition costs, and many students end up paying significantly less per year.
Tips for prospective students I love Marquette and have meet incredible people here that I hope will be my friends forever. Come visit if you haven’t already. You can come 6 days a week and set up a tour of campus or set up a Shadow Visit and stay overnight in a dorm and attend classes with your host student. Both are fun ways to really spend a day in the shoes of a current Marquette student. Make sure you talk to a student, all the better if they're in your field, to get a really good feel of what it's like to be a student. For more information, visit the Marquette Website: www.marquette.edu/explore.
Great for these types of students Marquette is great for students that like the atmosphere of a smaller university, while still living in a bustling, thriving community--downtown Milwaukee. There are majors for every interest, and Marquette even allows students to create their own major--with ample research and planning--to taylor fit their individual interests. Marquette is a family: the professors, staff and students all thrive on each others' success and ensure each others' happiness.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I can't believe how much I learned in my first semester at Marquette. It's not only that I learned a lot but I am retaining information and I am able to use this information in my everyday life. It is a great educational school.
Am enjoying being here I love living at Marquette, the dorms are pretty nice and the people are amazing.
Bang for the buck Marquette is pretty expensive but it is definitely worth it. Between the classes, teachers, and opportunities I would say you definitely get your money's worth.
Tips for prospective students I would say that you should keep your grades up and definitely be involved. Marquette is really about student involvement and service so that will always help.
Great for these types of students hardworking, smart, involved

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences marquette offers very fulfilling classes that challenge students and give them opportunities to get a feel of their major. the campus is also very well kept and just feels good to walk around. opportunities for service and activities are also abundant and available for students with varied interests.
Tips for prospective students be ready for classes that are much more challenging than high school. occasionally you will get a class that can be passes by doing nothing but for the most part you have to actually work to receive the grade you want. also, be prepared for life in a fairly large city, which is something i was not used to.
Academic Rigor most of the classes here are challenging and offer good learning experiences. they really give an excellent look at many majors offered at marquette.
Dorm Life the dorms are fairly well kept and offer things to do within them depending on the dorm that you live in.
Food and Dining food at a couple of the dorms is quality, but for the most part, the food is what you would expect out of a dorm/high school cafeteria. what bumps this rating up is the on campus options, such as qdoba, sobelman's, jimmy johns and others.
What to do for fun marquette basketball games are the main attraction during the winter and early spring. you can also go to other marquette sporting events such as men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball. you can also get involved in the many intramural and club sports teams that are offered during all seasons. there are also over 150 clubs to join for anyone not interested in sports.
Bang for the buck marquette's high tuition comes with many services offered such as the student health service, the limo service, and free tutoring service. the classes are also very rewarding for the money paid for them.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus the square dance at the beginning of orientation is a somewhat unusual tradition, but really allows freshmen to meet each other before everyone else shows up to campus. the st. joan of arc chapel is also popular for late night masses during the week.
Great for these types of students anyone looking for a challenge in their classes or wanting to be in a large city setting.
Clubs and Activities there are plenty of activities available for anyone to join throughout the entire year.
Campus Safety campus safety is done well for the most part as officers are always patrolling campus. there are also blue light phones available everywhere on campus if help is needed. the limo service also transports students safely from one destination to another at night. the only thing that knocks the rating down is the fact that there have been some muggings in the 4 total months i have been here.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Marquette is a wonderful school with great academics and professors willing to help their students. The atmosphere the campus gives off is very positive and it makes students like to study. Along with the great academics and positive atmosphere, the diversity of students make it easier to make friends and enjoy the beautiful campus.
Tips for prospective students Study the material that covered in lecture and read more from the text books. It is easy to fall behind, as I have realized that into my first semester of college. However, if you are focused and determined then there should be no problem in being successful.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor in Marquette can be difficult. There are some classes easier than others, but for the most part the college offers many courses that have a difficult curriculum.
Dorm Life The dorm life is amazing! It is my first year in college and I have already made great friends with girls that live on my floor. One of the main fears there is entering college is making friends, but with the great atmosphere given off in the dorms it is very easy to make great friends.
Food and Dining The food and dining at Marquette is different depending on the dining halls you go to. The food isn't horrible, but it's not the greatest either. Regardless, there are some dining halls in campus that serve delicious food.
What to do for fun There is tons to do for fun. Marquette offers activities for students to do over the weekends called Late-Night Marquette, which is very enjoyable. The free transportation of buses is also an option to take people to the movie theaters, Malls and tasty Restaurants.
Bang for the buck It is an expensive University, but it is also private so there is plenty of scholarships and grants offered to the students.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus On campus there is a burger place called Solbomans that offer some of the best burgers in Milwaukee. They are affordable and even though I am a vegetarian, their veggie burgers are fantastic.
Great for these types of students Marquette is great for the type of students that love to enjoy life, but know when to prioritize their school and social lives, since Marquette is not the easiest school. Students that love basketball would love it because Marquette has a great Basketball team.
Clubs and Activities There are many activities to do with sports, such as intramurals to most sports. There are also activities that are great for volunteering.
Greek Life Greek life in Marquette is offered for second semester freshman. It is not huge, but a lot of people do rush.
Campus Safety Campus safety is great, with the campus offering a Limo service available at 5pm up until 2am giving students rides so they do not have to walk places at night.

Great for these types of students I recommend a private college for students who are eligible for scholarships or grants, as well as students who go into fields that pay well after graduation. The school is not cheap, and you will need a good paying job after graduation in order to pay back any student loans.

Did enjoy being here The small campus atmosphere was amazing. I loved seeing people I knew when just walking down the streets. Wisconsin Ave has almost all main bus lines going down it so it's easy to get anywhere in Milwaukee right from campus. And they just got a Sobelman's on campus!!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Depending on what class your taking the intensity of how much you learn obviously differs. However no matter on the difficulty level on your class I guarantee if you actually try and achieve a B or higher in any of your classes your going to walk away with information you didn't know before. Some classes require more effort put into studying than others but even the easy classes that I've taken that didn't require an intense amount of studying, I still remember most of what we went over throughout the semester.
Am enjoying being here Whether or not you enjoy Marquette depends on a lot of factors. For example the student themselves. Is the student very social and talkative then they should have no problem networking and making friends. However if the student doesn't intentionally put themselves out there and its hard for them to socialize then they really need to pick a social dorm perhaps to live in. McCormick is a freshman dorm and it is very social and usually the best pick for students to socialize and mingle, however there are other dorms open to freshman that aren't as socially heightened as McCormick.
Bang for the buck Because marquette university is a private institution it is very expensive. However they do offer many scholarships that freshman don't realize and if you'r truly in financial need such as low-income students, there is a program called (EOP) education opportunity profram that helps these low-income students financially as well as academically. EOP provides tutors, and creates a feeling of having a family away from home. Marquette offers many full-tuition scholarships located on the scholarships page of the website www.mu.edu, some of them being the boys and girls club of america scholarship, urban scholars program, and many more. Plus marquette automatically applys students for certain scholarships that they are eligable for once they are accepted to the university sucha as the Ignatius Scholarships & Magis Awards that are distributed yearly. I recieved 10,500 towards my tution from that very scholarship.
Tips for prospective students I have several tips if attending Marquette university your freshman year. If you are majoring in a science field. I recommend you don't take biology or chemistry at the same time. They are both difficult courses that require a certain amount of your time. You will do better if you take them separately instead of in the same semester. I also recommend that your freshman year, if dorming, you choose McCormick and in your sophomore year Schroeder. Try not to take all 8am classes like in high school because it is not going to be the same. Classes are longer and its important to pay attention in each. Space your classes out when you enroll in them. My last tip is if you plan on working on campus the best job is a library job because you can study while working and that is a major privilege when working
Great for these types of students Marquette is great for all types of students I believe.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Marquette is definitely a challenging atmosphere but in a good way. The teachers are always pushing us to think for ourselves, not just absorb what they throw at us. They want us to be able to form our own opinions and many of the teachers I have love it when a student challenges them on an idea in class. Highschool was a breeze for me but here I am actually putting in work to get my grades and it really makes me feel like I've accomplished something great.
Am enjoying being here Marquette has a great atmosphere. There's always something to do in the city and tons of people to do it with. I've made so many great friends during my time here who I'll continue to be friends with long after my college days are over. The campus is beautiful and there's always a quiet place to study or read.
Bang for the buck Marquette isn't the cheapest college. Public schools are definitely cheaper. But as far as private colleges go, it's pretty reasonable. And having the Marquette name on your transcript will definitely do great things for after school whether you're entering the job force or planning on post-graduate studies. And there's lots of scholarship and financial aid available if you take the time to look for it.
Tips for prospective students Be yourself on your application, not someone you think they want. Marquette is interested in real people not robots.
Great for these types of students hardworking, driven, love the city

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot In just my first year at Marquette, I began taking classes that apply to not only my major, but also my master's program. I have already learned so much about the health care field and myself. The professors are great!
Am enjoying being here There's always something to do on campus! I have a lot of fun doing the activities Marquette sets up and just roaming around downtown Milwaukee.
Bang for the buck Marquette's tuition is well worth it!
Tips for prospective students Visit campus before you get to school in August! It will help you to not feel so lost and will get you even more excited to start school!
Great for these types of students Marquette is great for any student who is willing to work hard and take their education seriously.

Categories Rating Comments Will learn a lot As a prestigious school they definitely have the top of the line staff and faculty.
Will enjoy being here Milwaukee has a lot to offer with downtown Milwaukee being within the campus, Bradford beach being less than five minutes away, the Brewers and much more. You will never run out of things to do around campus.
Bang for the buck It is expensive, but the experience is well worth the money spent and the education will be an investment worth a lot in return.
