MiraCosta is a great community college.

    Academic Rigor

This depends on the class. I am a engineering major so my math and physics classes were hard. However, some of the filler classes are a walk in the park.

    Dorm Life

    N/A

    Food and Dining

Although there is only one cafeteria the food is good. Also the Oceanside campus is centrally located to a lot of food places.

    Am learning a lot

Last week I was talking with the President of Miracosta, Mr. Rodriguez, he has a very interesting life story. Other then that he showed me that even though he was label in high school as mentally impaired, because of his lost of vision in one eye he still attended a community college, then transfer to a college, later he got his PH.D. Other then that, Miracosta has awesome teachers I believe that more then half of our teachers teach other universities at the same time or have PHD's and we as students are able to benefit from it and pay low cost tuition. Miracosta is a great school.

The teachers are very helpful, and they are always there when you need them. They have so many programs that can help you with any assignment.

    Am enjoying being here

It is great place because it does not have many students, and I just love it. They have so many clubs for so many type of students. You can even start your own club with your friends.

    Bang for the buck

Even though it is a community college they have great teachers and tools to help students. The teachers do a very good on preparing you for a university if you planning to transfer.

    Tips for prospective students

If you need help do not be afraid to ask for it because the teachers will help you. If you have a goal in mind Mira Costa College will help you achieve that goal.

Great for these types of students

It is great for students how are planning to transfer to a 4-year university, students are planning to get an Associates Degree, and students who are trying to go to a school where they will get the same education and help as universities offer.

The campus here is beautiful. Every teacher I have had has been amazing and really cares about student success. Also all the free resources here have made it possible for me to do the best that I can at low to no cost!

    Tips for prospective students

I suggest that you make an appointment with a counselor first thing. The education plan that they will help you create will really help on your road to your degree! Also take full advantage of the free tutoring services they have here, for every subject!

    Academic Rigor

The rigor of the classes, of course, is based on the class that you choose. Some classes that I have taken have really tested the limits of my brain and thinking and others, have been more of a fun easy A. I believe that this is the perfect mix and has helped me maintain a great GPA.

    Dorm Life

No dorm living here at this community college. But if your looking for a room to rent just visit the studen center website for a listing of rooms for rent, usually put up by students who live very close to campus.

    Food and Dining

The food in the cafeteria is a little pricey, but sometimes it is worth it because it is conveinant and delicious!

    What to do for fun

There are many opprotunities for students to have fun out of the classroom here on campus. They offer many intramural sports that all students are invited to join. They even have video game competitions at times with prizes and snacks!

MiraCosta is huge but has a lot to offer. There are a ton of classes and so many events always going on. In ever office on campus the office staff are some of the best and most helpful I have ever experienced.

    Tips for prospective students

Talk to a counselor to make an education plan so you're not taking classes you don't need. Check out the campus and try to find places you know you'll want to go. Make sure to apply early and do all the things they ask you so you can register early; there are a lot of students and not always enough space for everyone in every class.

    Academic Rigor

The programs here are pretty great. The science department is especially geared toward nursing and medical careers. There is a big focus on turning out amazing nurses who actually know about the human body rather than just guessing.

    Dorm Life

    There are no dorms.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is pretty good. They make everything there and have different dishes all of the time.

Keep your educational goals in mind, there are counselors available to help you reach them, but ultimately it's up to you to take the steps necessary to get there.

    Academic Rigor

Many classes are more challenging than the same class at other community colleges or even at the university level.

    Food and Dining

    What to do for fun

You're in San Diego county, you can figure it out.

    Bang for the buck

Great staff, nice campus, convenient locations for a community college price.

Great for these types of students

Commuter students, night students, adult learners and those looking to get degrees for a better price.

    Clubs and Activities

Good student activity on campus, university level student involvment at the community college level is hard to come by.

    Campus Safety

Everyone is responsible for keeping a campus safe, but MiraCosta police have a pretty good handle on things.
