I love being at OUE because even though most of us around here don't really see it as being a real University it is. It is a great place to begin at if your degree isn't offered there, while having the experienced teachers that you would see on a main campus. Also, it is very inexpensive to get the same education as others especially when your just starting out and doing General Education requirements.

    Tips for prospective students

Take all of your work seriously and get it in on time. Don't think just because it's OUE that it doesn't matter. Every grade counts and especially if your doing post-secondary or planning on transferring, it really matters a lot.

    Academic Rigor

Every class is different. A class might sound easy, but could be the worst class you ever take. Don't give up if you have a hard class, it's better to stick it out and try your hardest rather than give up automatically.

    Dorm Life

    No dorms, it's all commuting.

    Food and Dining

There is a cafe that is very cheap which is great for college students and there is also vending machines that has all kinds of stuff.

Great for these types of students

Great if your paying for college yourself or want to save extra before you actually get to start your degree program.

    Am learning a lot

The academics are far easier and less complex than my previous university, I find I am not being challenged in an intellectual compacity.

    Am enjoying being here

This is not my ideal university. There is not much for someone in this area besides school and getting a part time job, there is no fun activities offered that will pump up the student body, the atmosphere is more of a slightly advanced high school. But for the price it is to be expected.

    Bang for the buck

You'll get an education in teaching, criminal justice, and the sciences, but nothing else so if that's what you want then for the price this is the place. Any other major this school is a waste of time and money, you can take gen eds here but be sure to know which ones you'd need for transfer or they'll stick you with courses you only need if you stay with OU.

    Tips for prospective students

Be sure of what you want. If your major isn't offered but your here for general education classes make sure to research the school you'll be going to and take courses that will transfer. Listen to your advisors suggestions but always do what is right for you not the university if you stay. After all your paying for your education you get a say, you know where you are heading in life, so do what is best for those goals.

Great for these types of students

Criminal justice majors, interested in being a teacher, business minor and exercise phys majors....
