    Am learning a lot

This school has an amazing teaching staff with teacher's assistants in a lot of the classes to help you understand and learn the material. Also, there are free tutoring services taught by current students who have taken the classes you are enrolled in that are included in tuition.

    Am enjoying being here

Stillwater is a really friendly place. I am currently in a traditional dorm, and I have to say that it is amazing. It is so easy to make friends and it is quite laid back. Also, we have an amazing fitness center and we are the most spirited campuses I've seen.

    Bang for the buck

Tuition and living expenses are amazingly affordable for it being such a top notch university.

    Tips for prospective students

Everyone, no matter where you end up, should spend at least one year in traditional housing. It is such a wonderful experience, and you will not regret it. Also, if you end up at Oklahoma State, do not eat more than once a day at the Taco Mayo; just trust me on this.

Great for these types of students

This university has great agriculture and engineering programs, but it is also very diversified. The main thing that it lacks is a medical and law sector; if you are interested in them you should try elsewhere, but most other people will be well accomidated at Oklahoma State.

The teaching staff here are great, and if you do need that little extra bit of help there are many many resources for group or individual tutoring or studying help. In addition, there are so many great programs and opportunities for students to get involved academically both on campus and off of it.

    Am enjoying being here

I am really enjoying being here. There are so many clubs, programs, and opportunities to get involved in on campus.

    Bang for the buck

Definitely worth the price. The opportunities are top notch and the dedication of the teachers is great. Lots of learning for a relatively small price.

Great for these types of students

Anyone interested in becoming a veterinarian should definitely check this school out. There are so many opportunities and programs for undergrads to get involved with the vet school here.

    Tips for prospective students

I decided to come to Oklahoma State University because of the beautiful campus and extremely helpful people that I met here my senior year when I visited. Over the past year I have found that not everyone is as nice as those I first encountered, but for the most part, the people are very helpful, especially those who work in the offices on campus. In addition, OSU is very low in cost considering the reputation behind the name. Not only does it have a very low cost, but the scholarships available and the jobs that you can qualify for on campus are very easy to come by! There's a place for everyone at OSU!

Great for these types of students

OSU has something for everyone. There are tons of clubs and organizations to help students make friends and stand out. In addition there are tons of sororities and fraternities, but you don't have to be a member of the Greek community to fit in on campus. International students should feel welcome as well! There is a very large number of exchange students and I haven't heard any horror stories from them. Everyone seems to have a great time at OSU!

    Am learning a lot

I learned so much my first semester at Oklahoma State! The professors were very willing to help if asked and they have scheduled office hours which you can go to to review before a test or get help on the homework. The teaching assistants were nice and helpful, hard to understand at times, but very knowledgeable. There are multiple learning centers where students are hired to review essays and paper, check homework, or help with pre-labs or just anything that comes to mind!

    Am enjoying being here

I love being at OSU! The campus hardly seems crowed, except on game days, and to get from one edge of campus to another takes about 15 minutes if you keep a steady pace, but watch out for the bikes! I have found many friends by going potluck with roomates and joining a service sorority. There are many diverse groups and clubs on campus and they will definitly have one to suit your interests. Dining options are the best: the campus has everything from a bakery to Which Wich and Chick-Fil-A. Even if you live on the edge of campus like I do, there is a place inside the dormitory to eat.

    Bang for the buck

While room and board is a little bit on the pricey side, OSU is the best buy in the big 12, so says the OkState homepage. Where you live on campus determines how much you pay a month. Meal plan is a great deal for freshmen! However, you do have a minimum of $1000 a semester your first year. Meal plan can be spent at any place that sells food including the markets. With the fees that you pay it includes the gym (which is top notch), all of the computer labs and printers (if you have your own printer great.. but you already pay for the ink in the school ones), lab fees depending on your schedule and upkeep of the sidewalks and reconstruction of the buildings.

    Tips for prospective students

Make sure and get a tour of campus before you decide to go to OSU. It is the one thing I regret not doing. It really influences your housing decsion later on, trust me, I do a LOT of walking. The Freshmen Fifteen is not a myth: I gained it but lost it all again because of all the great fitness classes that are included in the fees. The library is open 24hrs a day during finals week for a reason.. STUDY. Stillwater has two Wal Marts and some shopping like American Eagle and The Buckle. While the town is really spread out, there is stuff to do either on campus or off like the movie theater or the Tumbleweed. The safety on campus is getting better: more lights have been installed in parking lots but the buddy system is the best way to go at night. You can't drive to class but there is a bus system call BOB (big orange bus) and its super handy!

Great for these types of students

Great for laid back students but also ones that want to be involved and socially active. If you are a big studier there are tons of nooks to hide out in and study your heart out.

    Am learning a lot

My first year at OSU has been a true learning experience, both inside and outside of the classroom. Courses at OSU provide stimulating opportunities to not only learn about the subject of the class, but to learn about your own strengths and weaknesses as an individual in this amazing student body. There are several members of the staff and, of course, fellow students, who are willing to take time out of their schedules in order to help you learn more about your experience at OSU, such as what courses you should take in the future or where you can find the closest copy machine from any location on campus. No matter what the question is, someone on campus has the answer you're looking for.

    Am enjoying being here

OSU is the perfect setting for a fulfilling college experience, and Stillwater acts an amazing backdrop to such an amazing university. Many of the students and faculty are very friendly, and are willing to meet new people. There are numerous on-campus organizations that offer a spot for new students, and since the size of the university reflects the size of the organization, you will feel more than welcome when you first walk into the room. The residence halls also provide outlets for you to meet other students who will ultimately become your new friends that you relate to. The city of Stillwater also contributes to any student's needs, whether you want to enjoy a large group event at Eskimo Joe's or a quiet outing to Aspen coffee. With so many opportunities, no one will ever feel out of place here at Oklahoma State.

    Bang for the buck

Although the cost may seem too outrageous for some students, OSU accommodates to the financial needs of their students. They give out numerous scholarships for all types of students, and work to help find the right option for your finances. You will get your money's worth here at OSU; the courses are phenomenal, and the campus gives plenty of opportunities for you to feel at home. Choosing to come to Oklahoma State University will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

    Tips for prospective students

Tap into all of your resources. OSU offers several student resources for you to utilize in your education throughout the years. Not only are there groups to help you study, such as the tutors in the Math Learning Center and the specialized student mentors in the Student Union, but there are opportunities to talk to students and faculty to find out what the right path is to your future plans. Grab up the daily O'Colly to keep up with the happenings on campus; it's a free newspaper put out by the school, and it serves as a great tool to find scholarship offerings, off-campus housing, and special promotions put on just for college students. There are also several free events put on by students that you can enjoy, and you won't drain your bank account trying to find something to do on a free night from studying.

Great for these types of students

All types of students will find their niche here at Oklahoma State University. From agriculture majors, to fashion design majors, there are plenty of opportunities to expand your social circle and your knowledge about the subject you've come here to study.

While classes can be big at any University, Oklahoma State is freshman friendly. As a freshman, you're bound to have some classes getting as big as 300 students and as small as 10-25, but despite the large difference, every single one of my professors was easily accessible if i needed help in their class. Either by email, phone number (some proffs give out personal contact numbers in small classes), or going by there office to talk to them one on one.

Not only this are college professors easy to stay in contact with at oklahoma state, but part of your tuition covers free tutors for any subject matter. And if your an engineering major like i am, you are guarenteed one-on-one tutors for mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, and any other science class.

Oklahoma State also offers a writing center for proof reading essays, helping you with research projects, correcting mistakes you may have made, or if you're just terrible at writing essays (like i am), they can help you improve in your writing ability. They also help you with writing your resume for a prospective job.

    Am enjoying being here

Oklahoma State is encompassed by 'The college atmosphere'. On the week days campus is busy, people are everywhere either rushing to class, or just hanging out on the library lawn. The lawn is huge. Alot of people like to go out there and throw a frisbee around, slack line, take a nap in the sun, or just sit and talk amongst friends.

During the weekends the parties are great, always something to do it seems like. The hot spot on thursdays is going to the Tumble Weed (a country club) and attached to it is Tremors (a hip-hop club). So rather your a country fan or a hip-hop fan, thats always fun. I hate country and i still go.

    Bang for the buck

The Colvin Center is recreation center at Oklahoma State. Its one of the top 10 in the country. It offers a huge gym consisting of free weights and just about every machine you would ever need. It also has i think 4 or 5 basketball courts, an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, running track, virtual golf, a rock climbing wall (a big hit- you can either climb when you want, or take a class), racket ball, table tennis, and more. They also offer free aerobic or martial art classes for any student.

Education - for an agriculture major, engineering major, or hotel restaurant and Management major, Oklahoma State is a great college for you to go to. Especially if you live in oklahoma with the instate tuition. Oklahoma State has the lowest instate tuition in the Big 12.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved in something, it keeps you focused.

Rather you drink or not, you will probably get carried away with the idea that you are away from your parents for 9 months (like i did), but as long as you make the grades and attend class during the week you'll be fine.

Use all the free services Oklahoma State offers you. If you need help in a class, financial aid, depression, sickness, or anything else, there is someone you can go to.

Great for these types of students

Engineering Students, Agriculture Students, or HRAD Students. Or just any one in the Big-12 Area whose just wants to have fun.

    Am learning a lot

During the fall semester of my freshman year most of my classes where the very basic classes like college algebra, comp 1, biology, and history. However, I did learn quite a lot in these classes. I have just started the spring semester of my freshman year and I am finally getting into my major as an athletic trainer. I had very little knowledge of athletic training before I entered college. I am learning that my major has so many more components to it. In addition, I am learning so much about Oklahoma as a whole.

    Am enjoying being here

Like most teenagers I could not wait to leave my parent's place and live on my own. The campus here in Stillwater is so beautiful and the people here are so kind and inviting. More than anything, I love all the school spirit. OSU student are passionate about their school and are not afraid to show their support. However, there are a few cons about living here like becoming homesick and having to deal with loud and crazy students after big school events. But other than that I really enjoy being here.

    Bang for the buck

Having to pay out of state tuition can really add up but OSU is a excellent school and it is worth the price tag. All the academic programs that are offered at OSU are successful thanks to the wonderful and committed professors. The price is worth it because without question you will get a quality education. OSU is the best bang for my buck and I am glad I came here for school.

    Tips for prospective students

One tip I would give prospective students would be to visit campus at least once. I ended up visiting OSU two times before I made up my mind. Another tip would be to do your homework and get all the information you need before making and major decisions. For example, research where all the eating places are located and then pick where you want to live accordingly. Finally, invest in a good pair of tennis shoes because unless you are lucky enough to have a car you will be walking everywhere.

Great for these types of students

OSU is a good option for any type of student. OSU has the best of both worlds because it is a major university but it has a small town feel to it. There is a diverse group of students here so everybody will have someone to relate with.

I certainly succeeded in school. In the science classes, because I took AP classes in high school, the classes seemed right at home to me. The library is open 24/7 during finals week, and students can use the many computers or study rooms daily. I definitely feel smarter and have learned more about health professions and politics than I would normally.

    Am enjoying being here

The football games are incredible. In high school I could care less about sports, NFL, school, and definitely not college. At the campus tour, I told my dad I would never want to go to the games. hether winning or losing, the school has cheers that rock the stadium. Everyone decks out in orange and on game days the bell tower plays the alma mater every hour. When it gets close to Christmas, the bell tower plays Christmas music, and the cultural day, where all of the international students cook the foods from their countries, is phenomenal. The greek life has fun activites to go to weekly, whether free dinners at the houses, dance offs, homecoming pomping, fashion shows, movie nights, or philanthropic events.

    Bang for the buck

I applied to many of my in state colleges and I ended up going here for the scholarships I did receive that cut out 10,000 out of each year's tuition. The school has very cheap but excellent health services. I got the flu once and walked straight in to the health center, only had to pay 12 bucks and a prescription for ten bucks. I saved more money there than at my personal doctor at home.

    Tips for prospective students

Apply for as many scholarships as possible. The alumni scholarship doesn't apply if you live out of state. The four room apartments are nice, but for the price, my friends feel they are missing out on dorm life. If you want to feel immersed in campus activities, greek life is the way to go.

Great for these types of students

Spirited, humble, outgoing, people who want to feel like they live in the suburbs, students interested in cultural diversity, AP students, engineers- chemical or mechanical, teachers, undecided, and football fans.

The courses offered here at Oklahoma State University ranges from a myriad of subjects. If you are interested to learn about something new, I wouldn't doubt that you can find that class to enroll in. The classes that I have been enrolled in are challenging. Although it is challenging, it is a worthwhile experience to learn more about my major and becoming an interactive student on campus. The professors will take time to make sure that you are getting the most out of your education and strive to challenge you as a student. I am thankful to have professors that have guided me with my major and genuinely care about my education and future.

    Am enjoying being here

Stillwater is a relatively small city. I had assumed that it was a lot bigger before I had moved on campus, but I hadn’t known how much smaller it was until the week before school. I would recommend visiting the campus before you decide where you want to go. There are several events that happen occasionally in town or on campus during the school year, but once breaks come around the city is literally dead. Many students either goes back home or are on vacation, but if you find something to enjoy on your own you’ll feel occupied.

    Bang for the buck

It is supposedly a requirement for incoming freshmen to live on campus to have the full college experience. Although it was a great experience, it was rather costly. I moved out of the dormitory after my freshmen year because I realized how much more I could save and buying groceries from the market was a lot less expensive as well. I would recommend living off campus if you enjoy your privacy as well saving a couple of bucks. The fees that come with every class that you take build up as well and can be a major part of where your finances will go even if you don't use some of those resources.

    Tips for prospective students

Get to know your major professors well and maintain your relationships with them because they are the biggest asset to your success in college!

Great for these types of students

This college is great for any kind of student. You will learn how to adapt to your surroundings and studying habits once you get the hang of it. It will take time, but it is a great university for everyone!

You can take easy classes and learn nothing if you want but hard, challenging and useful classes are definitely available to those that seek them.

As a sophomore I feel at home here, but that's only because I am in Greek life and live in the Villages on campus. When I wasn't Greek and when I lived in Kerr I didn't feel at home at all.

    Bang for the buck

It's very cheap for academically strong students.

    Tips for prospective students

Get a high ACT score to maximize scholarship opportunities.

The teachers are very helpful, and are willing to spend extra time if needed. Free tutoring is available for every subject, so this helps alot when I don't understand something. Some classes may be challenging, but well worth it in the end. They have excellent professors, that are very in depth in they're studies. Just go to every class and there is no way that you can fail!

    Am enjoying being here

It took a while for me to be completely comfortable here, but now that I am, I definitely do not plan on leaving anytime soon! Getting involved in different organizations and events on campus can make the time spent here so much better! I enjoy being with everyone I have met here and it is so much fun to just be on campus and talk to all the different people. There is always some interesting thing happening in which gives me something to look forward to everyday!

    Bang for the buck

Paying for college can be very expensive, especially in my particular case because I am out of state and have no scholarships or loans, but I believe that it is well worth it for the education, memories, and life long friends I will have. My tuition cost is about $25,000.

    Tips for prospective students

The main thing I encourage is attending EVERY class, no matter if your on your sick bed. Making sure that your professor knows who you are as a person, and knows that your serious about school can help alot when your struggling. Becoming actively involved on campus is another big thing too, if you stay in your room all year then your not really getting the full college experience. Schedule your time wisely, make sure you keep a planner and make time for studying, and leisure. Lastly, make sure you surround yourself with the right people. The friends you choose will have a big part in keeping you from what you should be doing, or encouraging you to do the right thing.

Great for these types of students

Oklahoma State has a perfect mixture of every type of student, and is an ideal place to go if your looking for a school that has great academics and a fun community. I highly recommend this school for anyone. This is an excellent school and any type of student can enjoy it here if they make the effort. Just bring your school spirit! GO POKES!!(:

Not too bad for an out of state student. It is cheaper to attend OSU than to attend a private school in Texas. Scholarships are offered to help off-set tuition costs and are pretty easy to access.

    Tips for prospective students

Come and visit! It's a very friendly and welcoming place. The campus is easy to navigate and the town is a nice little place.

Great for these types of students

Kids of all types seem to find themselves at OSU. We have everything from athletes to cowboys (real ones not just football players) here. It just feels like a very open and accepting atmosphere.

Most of the professors are amazing. They really take the time to clearly explain concepts and get to know students. They will make appointments very easily if you have certain questions and based their office hours around most of the student's schedules.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is BEAUTIFUL! All the upperclassmen are very friendly as are the faculty and staff. There is always something to do in Stillwater. Simply hanging out with friends seems to be more fun here. GREAT school!

    Bang for the buck

I was honestly surprised about the tuition cost. It was much lower than I had expected. For the education you receive, the price of tuition is very very reasonable.

    Tips for prospective students

    1. Don't be shy about going up and meeting new people. Everyone I have met thus far has been incredibly nice.
    2. STUDY- the sciences here are especially hard but do-able if you put in the effort

Great for these types of students

At Oklahoma State University there is such a broad range of classes and topics to choose to study and everywhere you turn you're learning something new. Class sizes are small enough for you to not feel like just another person in a seat, and the professors and teaching assistants really do want to help you learn and succeed in the class.

    Am enjoying being here

I have never been to a place where people are so friendly and really do want you to be there and have a great day. Within the first few months I established a really close group of friends containing not just freshman, but people from all levels of their education that have been able to also help and guide me through my time here at OSU. I love this place and really can't imagine being anywhere else.

    Bang for the buck

If paying out of state touition, it can quickly get pretty expensive, but it is 100% worth it. Everything that your money goes to is of high quality and it makes living at OSU that much better.

    Tips for prospective students

The first thing is to get involved! Find organizations on campus that fit your interest and show up even if you do not know anyone else going- plus there is normally free food at the first couple meetings :) Next, be friendly and on the first day when everyone is awkwardly sitting there not talking to each other before classes start, reach out to the person next to you and say hi and introduce yourself. This allows you to know people's names, and make a good impression on others.

Great for these types of students

I would not say that OSU is right for everyone, but if it does fit you than you're going to love it. OSU has a small town feel because it's set in the middle of Stillwater, so you must be OK with only having 2 Walmart's in your town and NO Targets.... for those of you that can't live without Target, OSU should not be your first pick. An outgoing and fun personality is not required, but if you don't come with one I'm almost guaranteed that you'll leave with it!

Most of the teachers know what they are doing except my history teacher who sounds like a high school student presenting his or her first assignment. Lots of stutters and pauses, as well as mis pronounced words. And she expects us to take a lot of notes.

The rooms are clean, but the bathrooms.... well the custodians can only do so much. I love my roommate and we have our neighbors over as i am typing. Dorms are great!!!

    Food and Dining

I can only ask that we get a Texas Rode House on campus so that I can pay with my Bursar (our payment plan). The food is great there are many choices all over campus, however you will have to walk to get many places. The service is great and the food comes out pretty quickly.

The town is small so if you like a country experience you will like the atmosphere. Most of the people are friendly and open to new experiences. However, even if you do not like the small town atmosphere, it is only about a 45 min ride on the BOB (our bus free to students) to Tulsa or Oklahoma City.

    Clubs and Activities

There are too many clubs to count at OSU. I have joined so much that I can not name it all. There is most likely a club for everyone. We have the gamers club to the International Justice Groups. there is so much to get involved in.

If you ask the questions they will give you the answers and try to help as much as possible.

They taught me everything I could possibly want to learn and more. They made me a better, student, learner, scientist, and person because of the things that they taught me. They do not just teach class stuff they also teach you life lessons.

It is an amazing campus. It is really beautiful. I really enjoyed being there. It is a really friendly environment. Everyone there can seem like family and no one can really be strangers because they just start talking to each other. They have a lot of help for people in any way that a person could need it. People are amazing and the campus is beautiful. I could not ask for a better place.

    Bang for the buck

This is a really great school It is great for sports, activities, and academics. It can be kind of expensive though. Especially if you are coming in from out of state. The school really tries to help you out though. They have financial aid office where the people in there will find a way to get you through college and hopefully still have some money left.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared for college. It can really be a whole different life. It can catch you by surprise. Do not procrastinate on your homework either do it ahead of time so that you do not have to worry about it. Also, look and read your syllabus it is really important and can really help you out in class because sometimes your teacher's will not tell you that you have homework or that a test is coming up. So be prepared and go to class prepared and sit in the front.

There are also free tutors available who are also very helpful. There is no reason anyone should ever fail a class here.

The education you receive at Oklahoma State is great. As an out-of-state student my tuition is higher than some. Oklahoma State does a great job with financial aid though. As soon as you apply you are automatically applying for scholarships. You don't have to fill out another application for them which is great. After applying to other schools, I realized that Oklahoma State was the most financially fitting to mine and my families needs. They were able to offer me great scholarships to cut the cost of my tuition in half.

    Tips for prospective students

Visit the campus. You should always learn about a school and what it can offer before you make your final decision. Sometimes visiting a campus can help you make the final decision. All of the classes are very enriching, and as a freshman you are required to take a freshman orientation class to the college within the University, that your major is in. The freshman orientation class is helpful, easy, and genuinely is there to help make you the best student you can be! The class is even taught by your own academic adviser, very helpful for traditional freshman. Other classes understand you are a freshman and the professors, for the most part are willing to help you if you want to help yourself. I enjoy all of my professors.

Even if you think you aren't school spirited or into sports, EVERYONE catches the orange bug. Oklahoma State also offer's a ton of scholarships to freshman, and after your freshman year, your individual colleges offer scholarships.

Like I said before, the colvin center, the math lab's, free tutoring, and writing center's are there for you, and you are already paying for them, so DON'T waste it. Use all of the available resources to you, don't be afraid to ask questions, and keep your resiliency strengthened. College can be fun, but you have the choice to make it that way.

I received the out-of-state scholarship, which covers my out of state fee's. It is disappointing that they have raised tuition, but I believe that it is still a great value for the education received. Printing, and other costs are included in tuition which is helpful in reducing extra costs.

    Tips for prospective students

I would suggest that you make sure that you are prepared to study. I was an honors student in college, with a great GPA but high school tests did not prepare me for college. Make sure you can pace yourself, and spend two to three hours studying rather than trying to cram.

I am learning a lot, even though professors can be quite drab and boring sometimes. My suggestion would be to make friends in all your classes quickly and don't be afraid to ask questions. Friends are great for keeping you awake in class and doing homework with (especially if they live in your dorm). The best person to ask questions to is always the professor, but if you can't understand him or her, ask everyone you can.

Life on campus goes until midnight or later constantly and everyone just loves life so much! Also I am getting to do a double major in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, something most schools don't do.

    Tips for prospective students

Ask your tour guide lots of questions, explore classrooms and dorms, ask to see buildings and technology related to your major. OSU has a scale model wind tunnel most people might not know about and tons of computer labs that you will end up using.

I truly enjoy the campus and the opportunity to work with the faculty. As a student who decided not to join the Greek system, I am happy to report that there is something for everyone on campus to provide a way to meet other students with similar interests.

    Bang for the buck

Oklahoma State University is a great school to attend, but is an expensive choice. For me, I felt that for the degree I am earning and the opportunities the school will provide for me, the expenses were a worthy trade off.

    Tips for prospective students

If you find that OSU is the right college for you, make sure to become active in clubs, programs, and college life once you become a student. Sometimes moving away from home can be a difficult transition, but learning to fill your time with things you enjoy and a major you have strong ambitions toward are important elements to success.

Great for these types of students

OSU is a perfect school for students who want ample opportunities during and after college. The college provides connections to help students find internships and jobs during and after college. OSU is a place for students full of ambition, however, not for those seeking the easy route. The experience will prepare you for the major you choose, but you must be willing to invest time and effort to take advantage of what the school offers.

    Did learn a lot

Loved most of my classes here!

    Did enjoy being here

Dorm living was okay. Was much better after I moved off campus. The campus is great, and there are lots of things within walking distance.

    Bang for the buck

Wish there was more financial aid available!

Oklahoma State University classes are diverse, and for the most part, they are enjoyable! Most all the classes I have taken have been challenging, but rewarding in the end! Most of the professors and TA's I have met have been extremely helpful and friendly. They are willing to help you succeed! A good tool for finding the best professor for you is to use ratemyprofessor.com.

Oklahoma State University is a very beautiful campus. It is easy to find your way around and for the most part, people are very friendly and willing to help. My first year at OSU was intimidating, but with the help of staff and new friends they made it an enjoyable experience and it still is.

    Bang for the buck

I would not change anything about choosing to go to Oklahoma State University. I have to have loans on top of scholarships, but to me, it is worth every penny, because I get to go to such a great school.

    Tips for prospective students

If you are having trouble deciding whether or not you want to go to Oklahoma State University, make sure to tour the campus and talk to an advisor. That was the deciding moment for me as to where I was going to college. Stillwater is a smaller town, but very friendly. OSU is a very fun place to go to school. Take it from me, OSU is a good choice for your education! GO POKES!

I am a current sophomore at Oklahoma State University and so far, just about every professor that I have had has hand hands-on experiences in the field that they instruct. It's great to know that that I am being taught by those who actually have credibility in what they are teaching.

    Am enjoying being here

Stillwater, Oklahoma is a great town. It is not a big city, but it contains everything that a typical college student would want. Not to mention how friendly everyone here is. I have met people from all over the state of Oklahoma and they have exposed me to different parts of the state. I'm loving it here!

    Bang for the buck

Oklahoma State University is definitely worth the money. The education is great, the people are lovely, and the campus is beautiful.

    Tips for prospective students

Make as many friends as you can. It shouldn't be hard, because there is an event going on every single day.

Great for these types of students

The University has something for just about every type of person there is.

The professors here are really fantastic. They give good lectures that you are able to take good notes on. Every once in awhile, like in general education classes, you'll get a bad professor. Don't let that discourage you though because the majority of them are great!

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is absolutely gorgeous. You walk around and can't help bu think how lucky you are to be attending such a beautiful school. The people are so nice and friendly too. It is just a great atmosphere to be in and makes the whole college experience even better and more enhanced.

    Bang for the buck

This school is very much worth the money. It's about the same price of most state schools and of course is more expensive if you're an out of state student. They are very good about giving out scholarships though to help take a little bit off of the price, especially for out of state students.

What I love about about OSU is that class sizes can vary from 15 to 300 people. In the classes necessary for one on one time, you have it, but you also have some classes with lots of friends in it so you can study easily. It's definitely a different experience from high school; the professors actually treat you like an adult, and realize that you don't need to be babied. I feel like I've learned so much since attending classes at OSU.

Now most of the teachers are amazing, but there are a few like I'm sure every other school has, that everyone likes to complain about. So don't expect the teachers to be perfect everywhere.

I've made so many new friends since I started going to OSU. I absolutely love it! Everyone is so nice and friendly. The town is small so other than a few locals, there are just college students. I love running into classmates around town, the atmosphere is just amazing!
And unlike most universities, the dorms are completely 100% livable! Most college students find themselves wanting to move out as soon as possible, but I find myself not wanting to live anywhere else. The dorm atmosphere at OSU is amazing! It really helps you to feel independent and makes it super easy to make friends.

    Bang for the buck

OSU's experience is definitely worth the tuition. I do wish it was cheaper, just because like anyone else would say, paying for one's education is not fun. Also I'm not thrilled with the amount of scholarships given out by the university, but I have learned that the colleges within the university are more likely to give you scholarships. So if you're worried about not getting any money from the university, remember that your college still has money to give. I've received scholarships when there was less than a month less of classes! So they really are trying to help!

    Tips for prospective students

My advice would be to keep your mind open! Don't go to a school simply because all your friends are going there. You'll find that college will introduce you to a lot of new people any of which could end up being your new best friend!
When picking your college, look at what it is you want to do with your life, if I wanted to be an actress I wouldn't go to Oklahoma State, it just wouldn't make sense. Remember college is firstly about your education, so make sure when you finally pick a university it's one that will help you fulfill your career goals.
I also want to suggest to try living in a living learning community, or going greek. When you live with people who are similar to you, you are more likely to enjoy your college experience. I lived in a living learning community and it was so nice to already know people in my classes because they were just down the hall from me! It also makes studying for tests so much easier! (And unlike high school, you will need to study)
Also, leave all the high school drama behind, college is the time for you to grow up and realize life isn't just about you, but it is about finding yourself! So always remember to have fun! :D

Great for these types of students

    OSU is great for everyone!
but like I said before, you want to look at your major, and make sure OSU will be able to fulfill the needs of your future career.

I do know Oklahoma State has an excellent Ag college, engineering college, pre vet, and many more!

you should definitely look into it!

The professors here are wonderful and the actually care about your success in their classes.

I LOVE living here at Oklahoma State! Everyone is so kind and willing to lend a helping hand or give you directions if you get a little lost at OSU's gorgeous Georgian-style campus. There are constantly activities, plays, and recitals for students to attend. Don't forget about football games either; and Oklahoma State has the largest Homecoming in the nation!

    Tips for prospective students

My #1 tip for a prospective student? Visit campus and make sure to attend a football game...that is when you will really feel the Cowboy spirit! Also, check out the Colvin Center, the University's 4 story workout facility. During your visit, stop and talk to some current students, we love to share about Oklahoma State.

Great for these types of students

Anyone and everyone fit in here at OSU. Campus and the surrounding community of Stillwater provide the perfect balance of city and nightlife with a small town atmosphere that will make any prospective student feel right at home.
