Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot At Pacific Union College, the professors and entire faculty are very approachable and friendly. One should never have trouble going up to any professor to ask a question, seek guidance, or simply talk to. All the classes are very well rounded and uphold Christian ethics and values which makes the entire college experience that much better.
Am enjoying being here One of the most attractive aspects of Pacific Union College is the student body itself. Consisting of a small 2,000 students, everyone gets to be familiar with everyone else. Friends are easy to make and the majority of all students have a great amount of school spirit which makes all the activities that go on around campus that much more enjoyable. The dorm life is great as well in addition to the recreational activities that Pacific Union College provides.
Bang for the buck Because Pacific Union College is located on a mountain in Angwin, California, it is not easy to make trips down to the city. However, the campus offers pretty much everything one would need in order to enjoy oneself at college. For example, a college market is a walking distance from all the dorms on campus. It is located right across from a post office which is open during regular business hours. The cafeteria offers nutritional meals daily and the gym is open for anyone that wishes to stay in shape.
Tips for prospective students All in all, Pacific Union College is a great, fun place to spend your college life. I recommend bringing lots of food to store in one's room in case of wanting a late night snack, and even some sandals for the shower room.
Great for these types of students Pacific Union College is a great place for all types of students. It provides a nice, calm, quiet campus with benches and plenty of area to simply relax under the sun. In addition, there are plenty of places to gather and simply relax with a fellow student and talk about daily issues. I truly believe that any and every type of student would enjoy his or her stay at Pacific Union College.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Most professors are very knowledgable, but some are a little eccentric, and tend to be very difficult. Thankfully, this campus has a wide variety of professors for their general ed classes, so finding a teacher who I actually enjoy hasn't been too much of a problem. Academic expectations are extremely high, and most everything has a practical application-even general eds.
Speaking from my major-Aviation, the classes are great. The professors not only know what they're talking about, but they also explain the subject matter well.Am enjoying being here As a community student, I am not notified about any events going on around campus. When I finally do get their emails, it's already three days after the event. However, the classes themselves have been loads of fun, and the events I HAVE been to are all good. Students and faculty are very friendly and helpful. There is a great community here.
Also, as an Aviation student I am a member of the Angwin Flyers club. This is a student-run group which plans various aviation related events. We're planning a lot of fun events for later in the year when the weather gets better again. All of the people in this group are fantastic, it's great to just chat with them about planes and such.
There are plenty of other clubs on campus as well. Also, if you don't see a group you think should be there, you can simply make your own. Campus hotspots such as The Grind are also very fun places to hang out with friends, play pool, watch movies, etc.Bang for the buck If you can get the financial aid, or your family has the means to pay for this school, go for it. While the price tag isn't very nice, the academics are totally worth it. I know there are cheaper schools out there, but I don't feel that they have the same sense of community or the reputation that PUC offers its students. Also, they have a lot of accomodation for students who are married or have children which is quite close to campus and try hard to keep the prices for that housing reasonable.
Tips for prospective students Go for it. Even if you end up choosing to transfer to a different school later, PUC is worth the experience. The students are fresh, unique, and the teachers know what they're doing. Even if the school isn't the perfect one for you, I don't see any way to regret spending a year or two here.
If you're in doubt, feel free to contact the faculty in the department you're interested in. I can't speak for any other majors, but Kaye Varney (Aviation Director) and Chip Dillon (Assistant Director) are both very easy to contact, and great people. If you can't make up your mind, give the department a call and ask questions and see for yourself what the faculty is like.Great for these types of students Someone looking for friendly peers and knowledgeable faculty. Anyone interested in Nursing, Pre Med, Psychology, Art (of any kind. Music, Fine Art, Film Making), Aviation, or Theology (To name departments I know somewhat personally that I enjoyed being at) would find high after-grad hire rates. Overall, PUC has a good reputation among employers-especially in the Nursing/Pre-Med area.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The Professors are here to help you learn. They are very friendly and open to your suggestions, discussions, and questions. They want to help you succeed and therefore the school provides help if you ask.
Am enjoying being here The school has a beautiful location. The people are great, and very friendly. The only downside is the fact that it is kind of far and other than nature exploring, and road trips, there is not much else to do.
Bang for the buck Due to the fact that Pacific Union College is a private school, it can be expensive. However, if you value Adventist education, it is definitely worth it, the scenery is beautiful though!
Tips for prospective students PUC is a great school, you will have a great experience if you attend. Study hard, get to know your Professors and be sure to get involved as much as you can in extracurricular activities!
Great for these types of students Outdoors, nature, nursing majors and anyone who wants to be away from the city!

Categories Rating Comments Did learn a lot I learned more at a community college after quitting PUC.
Did enjoy being here I enjoyed the trees, but that's about it.
Bang for the buck Room and board were over 30,000$ a year. An the price goes up about a 1000$ every year. Does that sound like a good deal??
Tips for prospective students Absolutely do NOT waste your time at this school. It is way too expensive for the education you receive, and you can be in a Christian atmosphere just about anywhere you go. And trust me, there are as many bad influences at this school as anywhere else. My suggestion is to go to a junior college for 2 years, then transfer to a cheap state college. You will save yourself a TON of money and get the same education and same degree. If you're going to spend money, spend it on your master's or Phd. Don't spend it on undergrad at PUC. And don't let your parents talk you into going there because they went there. It was a whole lot CHEAPER when they went, even taking inflation into account. Also, I had some good teachers and some lousy teachers, which is the same anywhere you'll go.
Great for these types of students Only if you're extremely wealthy and you like flushing your money down the toilet.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Pacific Union College is a very peaceful and quiet college to go to. The professors make sure that you are learning important things that will help you in the future. You can learn a lot from your classes and if you need help with anything, you can always ask for extra help. You can also set up one on one meetings with your professors. They are always willing to help.
Am enjoying being here I really enjoy being at Pacific Union College. The atmosphere up here is very nice. Although it may seem like you are in the middle of no where, this campus is a very friendly place to meet friends. Most importantly, you will never find an empty place to study. I like studying in the library on the third floor because it is quiet and I can focus on my work and get what I need to get done on time. You must be in an atmosphere where you are comfortable and where you can learn.
Tips for prospective students If you are looking forward to coming to Pacific Union College, do alittle bit of research and decide if this school is best for your career or interest. I think that know matter what career you want to pursue, Pacific Union College can help you succeed and give you more knowledge and time. The academics at this school is very easy going and if you come undecided you can take your first year to think about what you want to do. But make sure you make a decision before your second year of college. Make sure that you do good your freshmen year in college. You don't want to slack off. Always take your time and study.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Most of the teachers are very clear with there points in there lectures. Plus the books that they select are very clear according to there class.
Am enjoying being here You make great friends that care and there for you. The teachers are also very attentive about helping you if you don't understand something, and tutoring is also very helpful for the classes that you don't understand.
Bang for the buck At first when you here the price you think you can't afford it, but once you actually go to the financial services it is not that bad at all. They help you in all your questions.
