academically the class sizes are perfect for the one on one learning with the teachers. socially one ends up knowing everyone at the school. outside of school wise, there is much to do in oklahoma city (45 minutes away).

    Tips for prospective students

many of the students here participate in some type of sport, so if you're coming to this school and aren't an athlete, don't worry. the students who are not athletes join one of the many clubs at our school. also, if you are looking for a big school or the huge everyday city life, do not come here; this university is perfect for the experience small private university feel.

    Academic Rigor

because the class sizes are so small, learning from the teacher is much easier; any questions are always answered. it's so small they sometimes get on to you for talking or texting sometimes in class. the workload is reasonable; it's easier to take more credit hours here.

    Dorm Life

honestly, we all very much dislike the dorms. until you're 21(unless special circumstances), you are required to stay on campus. the best one can do in the dorms is either request for a single suite which is still small, or become an prefict (ra) after your freshman year.

    Food and Dining

on certain days the food in our one cafeteria is reasonably good, but most days the food is unhealthy(greasy, fried, high in sodium); i'm a health freak for the most part and sometimes the best thing to eat is only a sandwich. also, the times are sometime inconvenient(if you have a car, we all just go to the nearby fast food places). if not wanting to eat in shawnee, the better/closest fine dining would be in midwest city or oklahoma city.

    What to do for fun

during the weekdays we all usually go out to support whichever sport is in season, because our school is so small any supoort is always appreciated by our fellow students. on wednesdays-saturdays, certain dance clubs are recommended in oklahoma city, which is 100% worth the 45 minute drive to escape shawnee. also, other students like to drive to norman(1 hour away) for ou or stillwater(1 hour away) for osu.

    Bang for the buck

for how much we pay, we all agree the school should have much more improvements. we have the great room in our school that everyone always hangs out at and we swear the sofas have been there for years, the pool table sticks are broken, the food is not the best, and the lab equipment is old. just the little things we wish could improve, but for the most part paying to have the smaller class sizes, know all the students, and play a sport is worth it.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

some of the dorms are said to be haunted by nuns.

Great for these types of students

you'll like this school better if you want to get away from home, love oklahoma, like the small school feel, want to be in a club, or plan to play a sport here.

    Clubs and Activities

i'm personally not in any of the clubs offered here yet, but all my friends that are in the clubs are completely happy with them. the main clubs offered are the hispanic club(not the proper name), the sororities, pro-life club, and the buckley team.

    Greek Life

    we have five greek organizations.

    Campus Safety

we always have cops roaming around our campus. once again, the school is so small, we even know all the cops' names.

St. Gregory's University is a top notch school. The studies are structured to make you stretch you minds. The atmosphere is serene and close knit group of students and faculty.

    Tips for prospective students

The students who prefer a small setting, this is a choice. Athletics is growing but not as important as your studies. Each faculty knows your name.

    Academic Rigor

The studies are difficult. Faculty know their stuff and stretch your minds to the fullest. The studies are an overall view for everyone.

    Dorm Life

I do not live in the dorms. I do know the dorms are equipped with everything you will need. They have a cyber cafe in the dorms.

    Food and Dining

The cafeteria is all you can eat style. The food is very good. A cyber cafe is located in the dorms for fast food preference.

    What to do for fun

The university has intramurals of various activities. Fraternities and Sororities are on campus. Athletics are always a fun time along with acting in plays.

    Bang for the buck

The university is a little pricey. You do get your monies worth. The professors all are very knowledgeable in their field. The university show extreme care in you as an individual. Rate this university a 9.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

The tradition of being a catholic university. We celebrate the feasts and have daily mass if you choose to go. Bible study weekly and movie night.

Great for these types of students

This university is not for the party type and struggle to class student. You must have a mind set on your studies as a number one priority. A serene place for reflection is a plus.

    Clubs and Activities

The university offers various intercollegiate sports. Intramurals for the not so talented athletes. Acting plays and the Buckley team are just a few of the clubs offered.

    Greek Life

There are a few soroities and fratrernities on campus. It is not a major activity at school. They do have active groups. They are not too prevelant.

    Campus Safety

Security is around the clock. You will see security making rounds hourly on campus and is located in the dorms. Security is rated as an 8.
