    Will learn a lot

I expect to learn a lot in this environment where the faculty is very involved in the students progress.

    Will enjoy being here

I have never lived in a winter state and am looking forward to new experiences!

    Bang for the buck

The education here should be priceless. The scholorships were good.

    Tips for prospective students

This is a campus that you must experience by visiting. It is awesome!

    Am learning a lot

You can certainly learn a great deal if you intend to, however it is also incredibly easy to get by with learning nothing. Certain professors will generally allow you to pass classes even if you do not put in much effort or demonstrate much knowledge of the material. Grade inflation can be very bad here.

There are many strong friendships, no doubt. However, the school can also, at times, be filled with cliques. I have known several first-year students who are not all that eager to branch out from their high school friends, even after several months at school. Not being religious would be something of a blow to any possible friendships at the school. Not drinking alcohol would be worse, making it very difficult, but certainly not impossible to make friends. If you aren't religious and also don't drink alcohol, you will almost certainly have friends, but the group may be small. This is not always a bad thing, as many of these groups are very close. A final note–many students can be homophobic in my experience, so not an ideal destination for homosexuals.

    Bang for the buck

This is my biggest complaint about CSB/SJU. Prior to visiting friends at many other MN private and public 4-year schools, I had not realized how poorly SJU's facilities compared for the price we pay for room and board. Amenities are rather poor, especially for the price. Dormitories for first and second year students pale in comparison to other schools, and are very expensive. The food is good, but repetitive. The school charges many extra fees considering the already high price of tuition and room and board.

As far as academic bang for the buck goes, I'd say that it's significantly better. The education is expensive, but there is a very good job placement rate and you can certainly learn a lot if you want to.

    Tips for prospective students

Carefully consider the type of college experience you wish to have before attending SJU. The friendships made at SJU are generally quite close, and often lifelong, however they are also inclusive, and as a result very exclusive of others. You will get a good education, but you will also pay for it. I am not trying to say that you should avoid the school, most people enjoy their time here a great deal. I am simply advising that you consider whether or not what Saint John's offers is what you want in a college experience.

Great for these types of students

    Religious, outgoing, social.

    Am learning a lot

I actually attended this school in 2002-2006 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Thankfully, they have opened their doors once again and have allowed me to complete a second degree as well as a minor this time in Nursing and Psychology (2013).

    Am enjoying being here

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at SJU/CSB the first time around and not much has changed with the atmosphere this time either. It is a whole campus open-door policy with much more to learn outside of the classroom than other schools.

    Bang for the buck

The cost of a private catholic school definitely has an impact on life's little luxuries, but I am hoping that through these such external scholarship sites my finances will all be in order.

    Tips for prospective students

Plan way ahead! You will need to begin your scholarship quest in your sophomore year of high school as well as preparing as much mentally before hand through PSEO classes. These both will open the opportunities to experience everything CSB/SJU have to offer, but also relieves a lot of the everyday college stress.

Great for these types of students

Liberal, easy going, focused, experienced, willing to take risks with/against professors.
