Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There is a wide variety of courses available. When it comes time for me to register for classes, I am stuck because there are so many I want to take, and not enough time. I really love that Stockton encourages students to gain a breadth of knowledge by exploring different areas. When I attended instant-decision day the man who was reviewing my application and transcript told me that undeclared is the best way to go for the first semester. I strongly agree because without a set major right now, I am very open-minded and am trying many different things. As a result, I have taken a variety of different courses and have discovered a couple new areas that interest me, that I never would have thought twice about before. Additionally, the professors here are excellent, and passionate about teaching others. They really care about their students, and make it known.
Am enjoying being here Stockton has much to offer. Residential life at Stockton is excellent. There is not one thing I dislike about living on campus. The main campus where I attend classes is no more than a ten minute walk from the dorms. When I am not in class or doing homework, I am at Stockton After Hours events. There are events three to four times each week: movie nights, game nights, bingo night, quizzo nights, karaoke nights, craft nights, candy nights, comedy nights, and more. The best part about it is that everything is free, and there are snacks and beverages, and many opportunities to win prizes and money. In addition, there are many clubs and organizations students can be a part of. There really is something for everyone.
Bang for the buck Very active campus, excellent education, many good places to eat, constant changes (new campus center being built right now)
Tips for prospective students I would encourage prospective students to try one semester undeclared first. Even if you already know for sure what you want to major in, just wait to declare it because then I think you are more open-minded. Also, I would encourage prospective students to live on campus. Living on campus really allows you to be more involved and feel like you're a part of the college community.
Great for these types of students Stockton is great for students who are looking to have close relationships with their professors. Most of the classes are 25-30 students. All the professors I've had so far have been really caring and helpful. They all learn each of their students' names. I even have one professor with a 200-student class, and he is working on learning everyone's name.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors that I have had so far have been great. Each teacher has taken time out of class to work with students who are struggling or need help in choosing which career they may pursue. Stockton College has an enormous amount of different classes to choose from and everyone is extremely friendly.
Am enjoying being here Stockton College gives freshman numerous opportunities through different freshman activities to meet one another. I made many friends within my first few days at Stockton. It is a relatively small school, and the buildings are in ABC order so it is very easy to find your way around. The college offers a variety of clubs, organizations, and sports for anyone to get into.
Bang for the buck Although Stockton is a state school, it is still extremely expensive. But, on the bright side, it offers many amazing scholarships that aren't too hard to achieve.
Tips for prospective students I would definitely recommend on going to the SOAR program the weekend before school starts. I met three of my best friends during that program. I would also recommend going to all the activities they have during the first week of school. It really helps you feel more comfortable in your new surroundings. Take classes you think you will enjoy, but also take classes you've never really heard of. College is all about experiencing new things, and Stockton definitely gives every student that opportunity.
Great for these types of students Stockton College is a GREAT science school. It is also a good business school. I would also recommend Stockton for anyone who doesn't want to enter a huge college. Stockton is on the small side, and is very comfortable. It has changed my life, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The classes are a range in difficulty, as is the class size. It's not too hard as long as you pay attention and do your work. Studying requires a lot of time and effort, and should be done.
Am enjoying being here The campus life is a little less than average. During the week is busy, but weekends tend to be dull. It's a lot of fun when you make friends and keep yourself busy doing things with them. There's a mall and other stores and restaurants close by as well.
Bang for the buck The college is an affordable one. MOST of the teachers are friendly and willing to help, and make it worth the money.
Tips for prospective students Do not get caught up in the excitement and put off your homework and studies because it will add up and end up hurting you.
Great for these types of students Stockton is great for students who don't enjoy the city life and prefer a calm setting. The campus is beautiful and set back in the woods.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There is a very wide variety of classes, you can take classes on topics such as Natural Disasters to Forensic Science, to Ballet or Psychology or even Nursing. It has multiple school divisions dedicated to different studies: Behavioral and Social Sciences; Business; Arts and Humanities; Education; General Studies; Graduate and Continuing Studies; Health Sciences and the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
Am enjoying being here I absolutely love it at Stockton. The campus is beautiful, on your daily walk to class from the apartments you can enjoy a view of Lake Fred and Lake Pam, and the giant trees surrounding the paths. You can enjoy the sand volleyball courts, or the numerous fields or if your a gym buff you can work out in one of our two weight rooms. The people are nice, its as if your one big family you'll see someone you know anywhere you go.
Bang for the buck The educational experience and the social experiences you gain at Stockton are definitely worth the money you spend each semester. Also it is the cheapest tuition for a state school in NJ.
Tips for prospective students Take a tour of the campus, apply for instant decision day if your eligible, join as many clubs or activities as you can to meet people, go on the SOAR trip (Stockton Orientation Adventure Retreat) and enjoy the experiences while you can, it goes by quicker than you think.
Great for these types of students Any and all students! No matter your age, the GPA you have or your choice of study. Best for undecided students, you have many choices in one School, no more worrying about the need to switch schools if you change majors once or 15times!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are a lot of teachers here who are amazing, and then there are some who aren't as excellent. It really just depends on what classes you're taking, and if you got lucky.
Am enjoying being here There's absolutely nothing to do on campus; everyone pretty much goes home on the weekends. If you're a commuter like I am, you're going to have even less of a good time; class projects are a little harder to do, and you're going to have a harder time making those lasting friendships you're supposed to make.
Bang for the buck Stockton is incredibly cheap, comparatively speaking, and you're not getting a shabby education for your money, either. If you're looking for a good choice financially, this might just be it for you. They also tend to give good scholarships and financial aid.
Tips for prospective students Live on campus; even if you go home on the weekends, you'll have an easier time making friends and with classes if you're living on campus. Furthermore, visit the campus and make sure it's the right school for you. If not, you'll end up feeling like you got gypped by the system. Go to the school that makes you happy.
Great for these types of students Stockton's perfect for homebodies, wood nymphs, and environmental science majors.

Am enjoying being here I love being at school, I never go home unless I have to.
Bang for the buck Stockton is a great state school, and its one of the cheaper ones.
Tips for prospective students Apply to as many colleges as possible and make sure you visit them! You want to go to a school thats right for you.
Great for these types of students I really enjoy the Criminal Justice system here.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Stockton has some of the absolutely best professors. Over 90% of the professors have earned the highest degree avalible in his/her field and it shows. They get to know students on the first name bases which really help build strong bonds between pupils and instructors.
Am enjoying being here Stockton's location doesnt offer much to those without transportation. However, if a student gets involved with all the activities that the college's Student Development has to offer, is/her time here will be awesome! There are monthly (free) trips to Philadelphia and New York to visit museums and plays, as well as different clubs and fraternities/sororities to join!
Bang for the buck College is an expensive school but it is definately worth it. Small class sizes, knowledgable professors, kind staff, and a diverse student development makes Stockton an easy transition into college life for any highschooler.
Tips for prospective students Get Involved!
Great for these types of students Those who liek to get involved, love the outdoors, like being located near the beach, and those that like to be in close proximity to the city (Philadelphia and Atlantic City).

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Stockton is a great school with many amazing teachers. All of my teachers are currently working in their field and have great stories and examples of real situations in the workplace. I really feel like I am learning everything I need to know to get a job and be able to perform once I am out of school. One of my teachers is helping me create projects for interviews and setting me up with a local internship. All of my teachers are involved and very willing to help which is so comforting.
Am enjoying being here I live off campus but stockton has so many clubs and organizations there is something going on almost everyday. SAH Stockton after hours always has game or movie nights with current movies you actually want to see! And they plan a lot of activities for students after classes.
Bang for the buck Being in state and using financial aid I am getting an amazing education for a great price. Stockton uses flat rate tuition, so whether you take 3, 4 or 5 classes you pay the same flat rate. I put this to use by taking five classes to save money and graduate sooner. There are so many ways to save money like living off campus as well. The food is tax free for students and the meal plan works at many places outside the school, in local restaurants and pizzerias.
Tips for prospective students If living off campus arrive early for classes because finding parking is hard with the construction going on.Food on campus is great there and is always tax free. The meal plan is available at other local restaurants outside the school.
Great for these types of students Stockton is New Jersey's Distinctive Public School as well as New Jersey's Green College. They have awesome Biology and Environmental Studies courses.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning alot but a few teachers really get me lost, as well as the rest of the class.
Am enjoying being here Alot of things to do around campus which always keeps the days interesting.
Bang for the buck It is starting to have fees for the new buildings they are putting together but besides that it is reasonable.
Tips for prospective students With all the new building, if you are commuting be sure to come early, there is litterally no parking after 9:30 am.
Great for these types of students Active and social, even if you do not want to get involved you still have a great time meeting people in classes and enjoying each semseter.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning a lot in my classes that I picked. They are all so exciting from Physical Science to my African American Dance class.
Am enjoying being here I transferred in as a Junior from a community college and the rewards of being at a 4 year college is unbelievable! I didn't know that I could have this much fun at a bigger college!
Bang for the buck I believe that the course I'm studying Speech Language Pathologist is one of the best courses to studying for in the Medical field, besides being a Doctor! I believe that it will be worth every penny!
Tips for prospective students I would encourage anyone who is interested in exploring a college to explore a 4 year college! It's worth the experience! Take it from an older person in there 40's, I should have came here first.
Great for these types of students I believe that the Richard Stockton College in Pomona, NJ is an excellent school and everyone who wants to go to school should check it out! Students from the ages of 18 to infinity should apply!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Many of the professors have earned doctorate degrees and have a lot of knowledge about their field. Some professors have higher standards for students than others, but that's typical of any college. In addition to classroom experiences, there are also several opportunities to conduct independent scientific research if you take advantage of them or have a job on campus, whether it's in the library, theater box office, or working as a Teacher's Assistant.
Am enjoying being here It's in a suburban area in the Pinelands, but it is close to Atlantic City, Ocean City, and other Jersey Shore towns. There are many clubs and intramural sports on campus, as well as bus trips to places like museums and to watch Broadway plays in New York City. I'm a commuter, so I'm not entirely acquainted with campus life, but I know that there are many dorms and apartments off campus.
Bang for the buck Much financial aid is given based on financial need and academic ability. It's crucial to apply for the FAFSA well before deciding to attend any school. At Stockton, any problems that you may have can be handled by the Bursar's Office.
Tips for prospective students It's important to have good grades and SAT score in order to be eligible to receive financial aid in the very first year (currently, the Presidential Scholarship with an SAT Critical Writing and Math total score of at least 1400 and a rank in the top five percent of your class, Provost's Scholarship with 1250 and in the top ten percent, and the Dean's Scholarship with 1150 and in the top 15 percent; it's all on the website) as well as to review all of your major options once you're a student -- there are many fields of study available at Stockton, so it's good to check them all out before declaring your major(s) and/or minor(s). And once you've enrolled at Stockton, remember to join at least one or two clubs, organizations, or sports teams. :)
Great for these types of students Stockton's good for science (especially environmental studies), math, and medical students and those who want casual, personal relationships with professors and staff.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot There are many interesting courses to take here, anything from paranormal courses to nature courses to courses about the history of different kinds of music. Some of the professors are absolutely brilliant and interesting (i.e. Professor Daly) and most are specialized in the area they teach!
Am enjoying being here The school once offered very little to do on campus, but with the help of the Stockton Entertainment Team and the Stockton After Hours program, there is guaranteed to be some sort of event going on each night of the week. Open mic nights, movie nights, game nights, and exercise classes are just a few examples of what is available for students to enjoy.
Bang for the buck This school is extremely affordable for commuters, but as a resident, I find it a little unreasonable. Although Stockton is not nearly as expensive as most other schools in New Jersey, I don't think the costs of living/meals are fairly priced.
Tips for prospective students Make sure you check out the ENTIRE campus in person before making a decision. If you are accepted, be sure to get involved with clubs or sports.
Great for these types of students Stockton is best for students interested in the environment or in hospitality (since the location is ideal for internship/post-graduation opportunities) and students who want to attend a small school (because classes typically consist of 25 to 30 students).

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Stockton is a great choice for students if you want a close relationship with the faculty members. The location is great. You are located near Atlantic City, Ocean City, and many other places.
Tips for prospective students Keep track of your progress. Make sure you know what classes you have to take. Make sure you have a good relationship with your advisor. Try to get involved with clubs and activities on campus. Try to have a good relationship with as many people as you can.
Academic Rigor The academcs here are good. You just have to keep track of your classes the best you can.
Dorm Life Living in dorms are okay. Sometimes you will have people who do not like to sleep and they like to make noise. The floor above you may be noisy. The RAs are nice.
Food and Dining The food is okay. It could be a little better. They do have salads and other healthy foods for students. The prices are outrageous though.
What to do for fun For fun, you have billiards, ping pong, fuse ball on campus. They have movies shown on campus every week. There are things to do off campus as well. They are not far from the college. For instance, there is a mall nearby and a bowling alley.
Bang for the buck I would say that Stockton could improve on some things. They are having a little problems but if they fix it then it would be better.
Great for these types of students Stockton is great for everyone. People who are only concerned with academics, people who want to get involved, and anyone else.
Clubs and Activities They have clubs and activities for everyone. You are also able to start your own club with the help from the faculty members that are willing to help you.
Greek Life I am not a member of Greek Life. However, I met some people that are and they are nice. They are helpful when you need them. There are Greek organizations on campus you just have to find the ones in charge and talk to them if you are interesting in being a part of Greek Life.
Campus Safety Stockton has their own police located right on campus. There are cameras located throughout the campus. There are also emergency phones available for everyone to use. You also have students that are there to be a designated driver if you need one.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences My college experience at Stockton has been wonderful. The staff is helpful and very knowledgeable. Classes are small and intimate.
Tips for prospective students Come with an open mind and take advantage of the time spent at Stockton.
Dorm Life I can't comment, as I did not stay on campus.
Food and Dining Definitely more options since the dining room opened. Also, there is more space.
What to do for fun I cannot comment on what to do for fun, as I only came on campus for class or to use the library.
Bang for the buck Since Stockton began using a flat rate charge for any class load over twelve credits, taking four or five classes was much more affordable.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I did not observe any unusual traditions or unusual locations on campus.
Great for these types of students Any and all.
Clubs and Activities No comment.
Greek Life No Comment
Campus Safety I always felt safe on campus. Even when I got out of a 9:50pm class there were no loiterers in the parking lot. Campus police were frequently seen around campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences The class sizes are small, which makes for a better learning experience. The professors are all extremely helpful and are a big part of our success. The new campus center building is very impressive and a highlight for the school.
Tips for prospective students I am a speech pathology major and I would recommend anyone that is in that field to this school. It is a small school and the education here is very good.
Academic Rigor Depending on the course you take and your strengths and weaknesses you may find some classes hard and others easier and someone may disagree with you depending on their personal strengths and weaknesses academically.
Dorm Life As a freshmen you live in a three floor building. I live on the third floor with about 18 other girls. One side of the hallway is single rooms and the other side is doubles with one triple. You have a resident assistant who also lives on your floor who you can go to for any needs and they also decorate the floor and coordinate small floor programs for you.
Food and Dining There is a cafeteria that has a wide selection of foods and always has good deserts and brunch on the weekends. Then there is the campus center mall like food set up that has many decisions including Chik fil a , Jonny Rockets, Homestyle (hot home cooked foods), and Primos Pizza, and Mondo Subs.
What to do for fun There is a movie theater nearby and also many malls and places to eat like frozen yogurt.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Stockton College has a very nice campus set back in the Pinelands of New Jersey, with a beautiful serene lake and nature all around, any student will feel comfortable. Although, I myself am a non-traditional student and older than most, there is so much activity always going on and the dorms are a beautiful nature walk from the main campus. The students have so many opportunities to enjoy so many different clubs and groups and the faculty is an awesome group that will help any student reach their goals.
Tips for prospective students If you are considering Stockton College, then be prepared to study hard, and also participate in the many clubs and groups that will give you a lifetime of great memories.
Many of the faculty are original pioneers of this college, that is a product of the hippie era,, and they are so available to students because of the pride that everyone feels about Richard Stockton College.
The more you get involved, the more memories you will take with you through your career and your life!Academic Rigor You can have fun and enjoy college but it is not a joke here! You need to show up, complete your work and study if you want to achieve your goal.
Dorm Life I live nearby but the Dorm Life looks like so much fun!
Food and Dining There are various different foods in the brand new food court. Close to the college are different eateries if you need a change.
What to do for fun Stockton College is minutes from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. Atlantic City, Brigantine and other beaches are close for the warmer weather. There are always movies and bands going on in the Dorms, they are posted weekly.
Bang for the buck Very Reasonable with such a beautiful campus.
Great for these types of students Outgoing students. Students that love a diversified population. Students that enjoy a challenge and like to work together to obtain a higher grade.
Clubs and Activities Too many to mention!
Greek Life There are quite a few sororities and fraternities and they are very active in school and public service.
Campus Safety I have never had any problems and I have never heard of any students that have had any problems. The college has their own police department and their cars are a presence to impose safety while driving on and around the campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Richard Stockton College of New Jersey is a school that is always progressing to a higher level of education. A school that will soon become a University, is an institution where you can truly receive a quality education, have great teachers, and meet many students of different ethnic backgrounds who can challenge you mentally. In my two years here at Stockton I can honestly say that it has been a wonderful experience to attend a college that is in fact preparing me for my graduate studies.
Tips for prospective students For any prospective students I just want to make it clear that if you are a student coming out of high school, who lives in the area then come to this school. Its not about moving as far away as possible its about managing your money and the reality is what student can afford to go to school out of state nowadays. For any students coming from out of state or farther north of new jersey this school is great because tuition cost are low and there are so many scholarships, grants and financial aid a student can receive.
Academic Rigor With any school I think the academic rigor depends on your major and predominantly the classes that are needed to take for that desired major. I personally I am a biology major, not an easy major to pursue, but it helps to be organize and have a plan. Essentially, it boils down to the students drive and determination to obtain the knowledge given to them that will determine how well a student does at any institution.
Dorm Life I don't live on campus I commute because I live about 15 minutes maybe less away from the campus. However, I've heard good things like the campus is clean and all basic amenities needed for a comfortable living space is given to the students. At the end of the day living on campus allows students to become more involved with clubs, and campus activities.
Food and Dining As for the food and dining here at Richard Stockton College I have to say it's better then most. The newly erected campus center is home to for lack of a better term a food court. There is a wide variety of foods to choose from for every type of diet. However, the choice of picking healthier choices versus the more unhealthy here at Stockton is ultimately that said individuals but one cannot say that both are not available at this school.
What to do for fun Activities for recreational purposes include clubs, games that are held on many occasions and events that occur around campus daily. A few examples of this are the movie nights in the campus center theatre, karaoke, pool, and the list goes on. Many students have so much going on that they either don't realize or just don't care that so many events occur daily that they can participate in.
Bang for the buck There isn't too much more to say except if your serious about your education this school will provide plenty of room for you to grow academically. Furthermore, you will find that the overall student population is of a caliber that will help motivate you to be your best. Teachers also will always be there to help you with any problems that may arise during your time here at Stockton.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus I suppose the only unusual aspects of Stockton is lake Fred. A lake behind the institution that has been there for so long people talk about what might possibly inhabit it. As for unusual traditions I am not so in tuned with campus life that I know of any particular traditions.
Great for these types of students I can't say that this school is great for any one type of person because you can find just about every type of student here in the hallways of Stockton. I must admit that I enjoy the diversity of this school. In the end you can always find someplace to belong because of the melting pot of backgrounds of students here at Stockton.
Clubs and Activities When it comes to clubs and activities there are a variety of different clubs to join so that a student can become more involved with this school. In addition a few times a semester groups will give out information about there clubs telling you just what its all about. Basically, if you have some free time or have an interest in something chances are there is a club or activity that will be just for it.
Greek Life Although i am not part of the Greek life i have friends who are part of the sororities or fraternities. Many join the one that there family members from past years have joined, others want to be part of team or family. No matter the reason Greek life is a great opportunity to make new friends and carry those friendships with you through life.
Campus Safety Campus safety is really important to this school they even have there own set of campus police. This is important because for many parents they are trusting an institution with their child's safety. Many rules are set on the dorms such as no alcoholic beverages, smoking and a few more which are reasonable and essential elements to a safe campus.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences It is a nice campus, most of the professors are nice in the Mathematics Program. I have some issues with the policies compared to other colleges. The education program has a lot of flaws.
Tips for prospective students Do not go here for education. Make sure you go to your preceptor multiple times before you choose classes. There are different attributes you need that can be combined with others you take so you don't waste any time.
Academic Rigor The mathematics program has great classes and inspire to do your best.
Dorm Life I live close to the campus so I wouldn't be able to say anything here, I commute from home.
Food and Dining With the new campus center the college has wonderful food! Plus there is a great buffet!
What to do for fun The college is close to a lot of coastal cities, also there are plenty of things to do like go to shows and concerts, also about 45 minutes from Philadelphia which always has some kind of sport going on!
Bang for the buck I HATE how Stockton doesn't allow you to take courses at a community college for something that has nothing to do with your major! If it wouldn't make me graduate later I would have transferred.
Clubs and Activities There are a ton of clubs for students, each semester they have a fair which allows the clubs to get new students involved in what they like to do.
Campus Safety There are always Stockton Police in the parking lots.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Stockton is dead set in the middle of the Pine Barrens and is easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway. Its a small Division 3 college with both on campus and commuter options. Stockton is a green, Eco-friendly campus that derives much of its energy through sustainable technology.
Tips for prospective students Stockton is a great college to attend if your not quite sure what direction your headed in. It will help you explore many areas of study and you'll have a great time doing so. Recently in 2011, Stockton opened up a new campus center which is great to hang out in with friends to play games, study, relax and watch t.v., or get some food.
Academic Rigor Stockton is a general studies school so if your undecided, prefer small classes, and like nature, Stockton is the school for you. You'll touch on such a wide array classes such that finding a major for you will be easy.
Dorm Life Dorm life is groovy no matter what year you are. Freshman and upperclassmen dorms are roomy, clean, and fun. Be warned though, a lot of kids commute home on the weekends often making Stockton a ghost town for the few who happen to stay.
Food and Dining N-wing cafeteria has a open buffet all day with salad bar and breakfast bar and the Campus Center features Dunkin Donuts, Johnny Rockets, Chic Fillet, Primo's Pizza, Passport (Health Food), and Mondo Subs.
What to do for fun You are in the middle of the woods so nature hikes and bike rides are always fun. The campus center has pool tables and ping pong tables. If you are more of a city person, Atlantic City is only 10 minutes away.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus The nature trail bridge is great for being inconspicuous.
Greek Life There are many on and off campus houses to join wether your looking to party or academically enrich yourself.
