Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The University of Central Oklahoma is a wonderful place to learn. The class sizes are small which makes students able to communicate with teachers easily whenever need be. One thing to keep in mind is to look for the teachers who not only make learning fun, but actually teach the material well. Since you are paying for the classes, you might as well learn while you're in them.
Am enjoying being here The student life at University of Central Oklahoma is wonderful. Although the school is largly commuter, it is small enough to make friends who you can see each semester whether in passing or in classes. There are programs and activities that go on on the UCO campus each week that allows for meeting friends and making the most of your college experience. Edmond is also a great town to live in. It's right next to Oklahoma City, so it feels like a big city, but it's small enough not to overwhelm new residents.
Bang for the buck The price of school is not too expensive for residents, but for students who are from out of state it can get pricey. That being said, the school its self is beautiful and worth the price being paid.
Tips for prospective students Be sure to do as many activities as possible to meet people. Having friends will make your college experience much more enjoyable.
Great for these types of students This school is great for students who like being social, but aren't concerned with becoming best friends with everyone they see.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot It was a bigger transition from high school than what I thought it would be. The instructors' expectations of you are high. I learned very fast that I needed to get into the mindset of being an extremely determined student. I learned that my study skills needed some work because the instructors do not just hand you a good grade. You have to earn it.
Am enjoying being here I love this university. It has a really big blend of ethnicities and I have met some really cool people. I wanted a change. I wanted to be around new people and a new environment. That is why I chose the University of Central Oklahoma over a smaller community college.
Bang for the buck This college is rapidly growing. It is the third largest university in the state of Oklahoma. The tuition is not as expensive as OU or OSU. This campus loves to encourage its students to get involved in campus activities, and the staff make sure to let students feel welcomed.
Tips for prospective students If you like meeting new people who are very much different from you, but also very much the same, you should choose the University of Central Oklahoma! It is located in Edmond, OK which is a very fast-pace city that is rapidly growing. It is very fun to live here!
Great for these types of students This university is a great choice for students who want to take part in leadership opportunities and athletics. It has a growing Forensic Science department, also.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Yes, I am learning a lot, both inside and outside the classroom. UCO has taught me to be a better person, and to apply myself even more to get the grade I want.
Am enjoying being here I do enjoy being here. I made some new friends, and some of the faculty here, especially in the Multicultural Student Services Office, are good, helpful people who will help any student, and will push their students to succeed.
Bang for the buck Compared to all the other schools here in Oklahoma it is an affortable four year school, and it is closer to home.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I have definitely learned a lot about the University of Central Oklahoma, ranging in all aspects of my life. Most importantly, I have learned to communicate better with people from different backgrounds and cultures. Also, intellectually, I have matured as well.
Am enjoying being here I love my time spent at UCO; from the classroom, to the city, there's always an inviting atmosphere. Many of the classes most students take are rather small in comparison to OU or OSU. In addition, the ambience of Edmond is friendly and slow-paced, a great place to explore and study.
Bang for the buck The biggest bang for your buck at UCO is the experience you take away from it. Some of my favorite memories are the football games I performed at, or the campus-wide events that my group would attend. There's never a dull moment on campus if you take the time to talk with the people you meet.
Tips for prospective students Live on campus your first year. is the biggest advice I could give a prospective student. Suggest you get a private room with a locking door. Living on campus allows one to become accustomed to the university quickly, as well as introduces you to a large number of could be life-long friends.
Parking isn't easy to find for students living on campus or for commuter students. That's an adjustment.Great for these types of students The University of Central Oklahoma is ideal for any students. It provides a challenging, yet not overly demanding coursework. Additionally, it has an inviting campus vibe with a multitude of amenities.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot UCO is a great college with an excellent staff that genuinely cares about your education. The professors are always willing to help you and answer any questions you may have. The class sizes are fairly small, it seems comparable to a high school class size. This allows you to get help with pretty much anything you need help with.
Am enjoying being here UCO has a great campus. It is a beautiful campus, very clean, everything is very easy to find. Everyone is always willing to help point you in the right direction if you can't find a class or an office that you have to go to. UCO also has many ways to get involved on campus, with many student organizations to choose from.
Bang for the buck UCO is a great college at a great price! It has one of the most affordable tuition costs of any other Oklahoma college. You also get a quality education, and professors that care about your education.
Tips for prospective students Get involved on campus! You will make many great friends!
Great for these types of students UCO is great for students who want an affordable, quality education. It is also not too large, but not too small, so if you come from a smaller town it is a great choice.

The staff has been incompetent and apathetic.
The classes are always full, so you usually get waitlisted, causing your degree to take forever to complete.Tips for prospective students Try UCO at Rose for classes that might work with a working schedule. Also, the advisers there are much more helpful and don't require am appointment.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The professors here are very kind, challenging, and helpful. Class size is great and so far, it's been a great time!
Am enjoying being here I never want to leave this place! It's a blast and enjoy the town and the campus with it's activities! Something is always going on and I meet people every time I blink it seems!
Bang for the buck The cost for being the 3rd largest in Oklahoma is unbelievable. Cheap and affordable! Though I use grants and scholarships, it's still crazy on the prices compared to OU and OSU. UCO is waaay better!

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot As a Music Theatre major, I had every resource I needed here. The class settings were small and I was able to get to know just about everyone in my major and class. There were so many tutoring opportunities for extra help in the tough subjects. The professors were extremely helpful, available when I needed them, and I could reach them by email, phone, the office times were provided. I felt comfortable to speak out in class and ask questions. The students were all friendly and I felt like part of a team during our performances and shows.
Am enjoying being here The campus is open and gorgeous. There are so many opportunities to get involved around campus. They are always having fun activities, volunteering events, there is even a campus church to get involved with worship and things. Its very clean, and the students that attend here take great pride in our school. (The best part is the campus Starbucks!! ha ha) We have a massive library with 4 stories categorized by subjects and what kind of books you're looking for. There are tons of study nooks around campus that are quiet and comfortable, as well as computer labs in almost every building with copy machines and printers available. If you are a theatre or performance nerd like I am, you will love the theatre on campus. It is beautiful!
Bang for the buck Tuition is very affordable at UCO. Oklahoma is the easiest place to come to school at because of the low tuition cost. I'm paying for school on my own and my Fasfa covers everything, Tuition, and my books. I am not worried about attending here because I know its within my reach.
Tips for prospective students Upon getting accepted you'll want to meet with an advisor in undergraduate advisement. This will make everything clear and they will give you everything you need to know about enrolling, show you everything you need to do before enrolling, help you if you have any holds and answer all of your questions. I highly recommend going to Orientation, and taking a tour of the campus. Grab your schedule and go hunt down all of your classes before school starts so you won't get lost. Its a decent sized campus!! If your classes are far from each other, rent a bike from the bum-a-bake program. Its free, and will get you to your classes on time!!
Great for these types of students I think its a great school for anyone really. It is in town, close to everything, its good for anyone who wants an on campus residence or off campus. There are tons of affordable apartment complexes minutes from the campus.
