Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot Depending on the class, but in general. I am learning more in some classes than other, but that is true of all colleges.
Am enjoying being here Not really, but that has nothing to do with the school. A good campus, with good teachers, I just don't want to be going to school in California. For a school it is good.
Bang for the buck In my case, no, because I am an out of state student, meanwhile for the in-state students, it is a relatively good price for what you are getting.
Tips for prospective students *Get your application and orientation done quickly, so as to be part of the earlier registration.
*Be prepared to take less important classes your first semester or two, because it is hard to get the basic English 101 and Math classes.Great for these types of students Great for those who want an easier transition from High School to College, or from regular life to going back to school. Many options on how to take your classes. Ultimately it depends on what your goals are.

Categories Rating Comments Tips for prospective students Victor Valley Community College allows nuerological experiments, statist brainwashing, and invasions of privacy. The campus is a center of government mind control experiments, pig entrapment schemes, and more. I highly suggest any free, individual minded person avoid allowing these socialists to rampage through your private thoughts and personal life.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences I have had the most wonderful experience going to VVC. I would recommend VVC to anyone who is considering a community college because it has been a great experience in my life. The teachers, students, and administration have all been fantastic, and have all been helpful when it comes to finding my way around all the areas of the College scene.
Dorm Life There are no dorms as far as I know
Food and Dining Cafeteria is good but there is a Del Taco within walking distance if you have a little time.
Bang for the buck If you have time between classes on Thursdays check out the farmers market on campus. Good buys and yummy lunch.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences victor valley college, or vvc, is a great school. if you want to go to college, yet can't afford expensive university fees, then this is a great school. the teachers are friendly, the staff is wonderful, and the students are willing to learn.
Tips for prospective students if you are thinking of transferring to a 4 year school after vvc, make sure you are on the right track. talk with your counselor about your intended major and s/he will help you achieve that goal.
Academic Rigor some classes can be very tough, while some aren't as tough. it really depends on the student. i've heard from some students that a lot of the courses here are really easy, but it also is the first level of college.
Dorm Life there really is no dorm life on this campus. it's a junior college. there are some apartments near the college, but none on campus.
Food and Dining the food is ok. the dining hall, though, is really nice. it has a big, open space to accommodate a lot of students.
What to do for fun there are a lot of clubs on this campus to join. if you purchase your asb card, you can go to plays and games for free.
Bang for the buck it is totally worth it to come here. as of today, a unit costs $36. most classes are 3 units. that's only $108 for a class. if you were to go to a university as an entry level freshman, one class would be an easy $500.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences overall, it's just like any other community college. there are a few problem areas, such as financial aid, but that's because the school is overcrowded. i have been content with my time here.
Tips for prospective students have a backup plan on what classes you want to take; they fill up quickly. also, get to a counsler as soon as you can if you plan to transfer and not just taking classes to pass the time. there is also a handy website, ratemyprofessors.com, that gives student reviews on teachers in different categories.
Academic Rigor keep in mind that this is still college, so time management is essential to your time here. make sure you are committed to your classes or you may suffer in the long run.
Dorm Life i live in the next town over about 20 minutes away from the school, and i don't believe vvc offers housing. however, i would talk to a counsler or look on the website.
Food and Dining there is a small selection of food on campus; your choice is basically a hamburger or orange chicken. however, 5 minutes away is a larger selection of fast food and restaurants that have more bang for your buck.
What to do for fun there are a few good grass spots and tables to hang out at, but if you're looking for entertainment, you won't find it by just walking around. the school has put on plays and art shows and rallys, so keep your eyes open for posters. the mall is about 10 to 20 minutes away from the college, and 5 minutes away are some restaurants, stores, a gym, and a movie theater.
Bang for the buck the school has some great teachers and faculty who are more than eager to help you with any questions you may have, but you have to approach them. the services, such as financial aid and counseling, can be ridiculous to get in touch with because of the overcrowding. however, there are many classes to choose from and many wondeful teachers on campus.
Great for these types of students this school is crowded with middle-aged people trying to get an education. many night classes are offered for those who have kids at home.
Clubs and Activities there are quite a few clubs offered, but meeting times are hard to create because people have schedules all over the place. i personally have not seen any clubs dedicated to the arts though; it would be nice to see a theater or dance club.
Greek Life no greek life.
Campus Safety most people on campus either hang out in the library to get work done or are walking to get somewhere. most people seem to keep to themselves or their group, and there is an occasional patrol officer asking students for id cards and what their business is there. i have also seen small towers that, when you push the button, an officer will be at your location within a couple minutes.

Categories Rating Comments In three sentences Victor Valley College is a great school if you just starting out in College or if you are continuing school. Victor Valley College has great programs like its nursing programs, agriculture, firefighting program, and plenty more. Victor Valley College has very nice scenery it’s a great place to study very quiet.
Tips for prospective students For those prospective students i would have to say make sure to show up on time to class on the first day. The earlier the better. The classes are very crowed the first couple of weeks. After time though students stop coming. Also don't give up on a class just try your hardest and ride it out.
Academic Rigor The academic rigor happens more in labs then just in a regular class. That is what i see when i take my classes.
Dorm Life There are no Dorms.
Food and Dining We have a little cafeteria they have good food. It is enough to get through studying and to go from class to class.
What to do for fun We have ducks and geese at Victor Valley College if is fun when you bring bread from home you can feed them. There are also sports that can be watched when there is a game going on like football, softball and lots more.
Bang for the buck The bang for the buck is like most Colleges not as much as a UC but it can be quite expensive sometime when there are book and classes they need to be payed for. The classes are quality though they will get you where you are going as long as they are transferable to where you are going.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot being my first year here, i took several classes in which i learned many knew things that would benefit me in my learning experiences on my education journey. i am looking forward to having more knowledge fed to me in the years to come.
Am enjoying being here you know i take note of what i do have right now and don't pay so much attention for the things i don't have, so yes i enjoy being here. there is no college that will have everything you want and if they do there are some restrictions. but for now i am pleases where i am at.
Bang for the buck yes for me i can furnish the college expenses like books, supplies, but you cant expect to have everything given to you, you have to earn it.
Tips for prospective students tips i am thinking to reconcile are not blunt. i cant think of any tips at the moment.
Great for these types of students in my opinion if you are wanting to start from the basics its a good idea to have this college in mind. i am speaking for myself and this college is a competent building block for my educational journey. i like it.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot The school offers a wide variety of courses for just about any major. I am currently completing 2 years of gen ed, and VVC has only made it easy for me. Learning here for me is rather easy.
Am enjoying being here It's close to home, and quite a lot of the people from my Highschool are also attending. I enjoy the classes, the teachers are great, and I am having a great time.
Bang for the buck compared to the last school I was at, a tech school, I am in shock at how cheap the classes are. 300 dollars for 4 classes, it's ridiculous. The quality of the education is great, so yes, it is a great value.
Tips for prospective students When registering for classes, be quick. The classes go on a first come, first serve basis, and the class you need will surely be in hot demand. Know what your going to pick long before you pick it.
Great for these types of students If your in the High Desert, and your not looking to immediatly go to a 4 year, like UCSBD, then VVC is the place to go. it is close, the classes are cheap, and the faculty is friendly. It also sure beats driving to Upland every other day.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning a lot here at Victor Valley College. I believe my writing skill has improve dramatically. Coming from a bilingual background, English was my worst subject. However, I took classes at Victor Valley College and my English skills have been improving ever since. I love writing essay where I could freely express myself, and I hate writing essay in high school. College just really open your eyes to a new world.
Am enjoying being here I would definitely say that my time here at Victor Valley College is awesome. I am in the Puente Program which support students who are interested in transferring, and I am an officer for this club as well. I've made so much friends that share a common purposes; friends who want to be a doctor, bio-engineering, researcher, chemist, computer science, and so much more. I love surrounding myself with people who want to do something with their life, and that help motivate me. I love competing with my friends every semester to see who would have a higher grade at the end. Its a blast for me attending here at Victor Valley College.
Bang for the buck Um. Its not very expensive to attend Victor Valley College. I mean it does require a great amount of money but its nothing compare to a real university. Classes are only about $26 per unit I believed? Even so, I think its not that expensive.
Tips for prospective students Join club, get yourself out there, and do not be afraid to ask questions. You have to be able to navigate your school life around and finding supports wherever you can. Resources are all around you, you just have to take the initiative and go find them. If you're lost at something, don't be afraid to ask, people are willing to help as much as they can. And do not forget to go see and counselor every semester to keep your educational plan in check.
Great for these types of students I believe the school have a nursing program that are definitely great for student who are interested in the nursing field. There are also some great Biology teacher there. I know there is a Biology teacher that does research every year, so students who are interested in research should contact him in the science department.

Categories Rating Comments Am learning a lot I am learning a lot at VVC. I just finished my second semester and it's easy to see that the instructors really do want their students to succeed. I have personally utilized the writing and math labs. Both have tutors to help you when you are not in class.
Am enjoying being here I enjoy going to school at VVC. The campus is beautiful. It is a great experience walking to class. The campus surrounds a lake which is inhabited by many ducks, geese, birds and other wildlife. It is a wonderful stress reliever to be able to sit and feed the ducks between classes. I have found the staff at VVC to be very friendly and helpful whenever I needed assistance.
Bang for the buck VVC has many different opportunities for low income homes. The price per unit is a bit high for non residence of California or homes that do not meet low income eligibility. I currently have the BOGG waiver and it saves me hundreds every semester.
Tips for prospective students The amount you learn is directly connected with the amount of effort you are willing to make. Don't start anything you don't intend to finish. Most importantly, stay focused!
Great for these types of students Journalism, Fine Arts, Liberal Arts and any student with ambition and drive!
