    Will learn a lot

The teachers and ambassadors know what they are talking about. I've never been in a place where everyone knows everything about how to survive. No one has been left in the dark.

    Will enjoy being here

They have two different kinds of housing for different kinds of people. What ever your needs are, they have the housing for it and they have payment plans. If you have any questions, the housing staff are always ready to answer your questions.

    Bang for the buck

Might I say, that you are going to get the best teaching out of this school. They have fantastic professors who (at Freshman Orientation) give you their phone numbers and e-mails so that you can talk with them and settle any problems you may be having.

    Tips for prospective students

Go visit the campus! Your deciding moment will be to walk on that campus. Then sign up for Freshman Orientation, they will then tell you all you need to know and get you signed up for classes right then and there and tell you how to do it in the future.

Great for these types of students

    All types!
I've met kids from freshman orientation who are sporty, scientific, mathematical, and musical. It's fit for all types of students.

    Am learning a lot

I have been taking Concurrent Enrollment classes through my high school from Weber State. My Instructor has been knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant to work with. I will take the skills learned from these classes and apply them in my life!

    Am enjoying being here

I've grown up doing things on campus and experiencing Weber State as a University. I have loved it since I was little, and my love has only grown over the years as I have learned what Weber can offer!

    Bang for the buck

As my hometown University, it's kind of always been decided where I will go to school. I have explored other options, but I always come back to the affordability and ease of Weber State.

    Tips for prospective students

Be prepared and willing to work hard and you'll do great! I love WSU!

Great for these types of students

Looking for affordability and fun while being able to create and develop your lifestyle? Come to Weber and learn about yourself while developing usable life skills!

    Am learning a lot

Unlike a lot of the big name universities, the teachers are actually here, teaching the courses--not some student teacher. They care about their subjects with a passion, which is why they do it. That passion transfers to the students. I never dreamed I would learn as much as I have at Weber, and I am forever indebted to the teachers here.

    Am enjoying being here

They have a TON of on campus activities, including dances, parties, a bowling alley, pool hall, movie theater, plays, bands, and countless other performances. Not only that, but the people are really nice. They're quiet at the beginning of the semester, focusing on their studies. But once everyone gets into the swing of things, you can constantly find people scattered around campus just relaxing and chatting.

    Bang for the buck

Weber is amazing at the price. Being a public school, tuition is only about $5,000 a year. For that, you get classes, access to the three-story library and computer terminals all over campus, a free UTA bus pass good for bus, Frontrunner, TRAX, and anything else UTA, access to the school shuttle, and all of the rockin' activities the school offers. I don't know how they do so much on such funds, but Weber definitely packs a powerful bang for your buck.

    Tips for prospective students

Get involved. It's the only way to have fun. They have a club for EVERYTHING. From ballroom to anime to martial arts and beyond, there's nothing that can't entertain you on campus. Also, get to know your professors. I recommend dropping by their offices in the first three weeks of class, at least those you plan to work hard for. They're bored during that time anyways, and it'll make you stand out to go say hello and try to get a feel for their class.

Great for these types of students

Weber is great for all sorts of people. I've seen high school kids and 60+ year olds in my classes. The majority of people on campus are commuters, but they do have on-campus housing options. Weber is great for those who want to learn but don't have a lot to spend. It is definitely not a party school, though; no drugs and alcohol allowed on campus, and you will actually learn something.

    Will learn a lot

I am hoping I will learn a lot at Weber because when I went on ratemyprofessors.com I read excellent reviews on my possible professors for my major!

    Will enjoy being here

I know I will enjoy being at Weber because I have been to the campus several times before, and the campus is beautiful.

    Bang for the buck

I looked over the in-state and out-of-state tuition for Weber I added the totals up for 1 year and then multiplied it by 4 to see what my total cost would be and it was cheaper than the others schools i was loking at. (when adding up the tuition cost i used the highest amount that they say might be charged)

    Am learning a lot

Weber State is a prime example of the phrase You get out of it what you put into it. How much you learn depends on how hard you are willing to work and study while attending Weber State. There are certain classes that I've passed without studying much at all, and didn't learn anything due to the easiness of the class. I've learned much more from other classes that took up nearly of all of my concentration to scrape by with a decent grade. But all and all, you can learn as much as you please, but a lot of it depends on how hard you are willing to work rather than which professors you choose. Weber State has a large library that rents out DVDs and videos to take advantage of. Most of the professors want you to pass the class and succeed, but cannot make you learn a lot if you're not willing to study. I feel that I've learned more in a single year at Weber State than I did in all of high school put together.

    Am enjoying being here

There seems to be a few activities going on every week. Weber State invests a lot of money in extracurricular endeavors, such as sports, clubs and parties. Football games are well advertised and well attended, and Weber State encourages school pride, as well as their school color (purple). You will have a lot of fun here if you are active and outgoing. There is a pool hall and a bowling ally, and my favorite feature is the massive gym with more equipment than I know what to do with. Weber State also has great physical fitness programs you can take part of, and a big climbing wall located inside the gym. Weber State also rents out student-discount sporting equipment of all kinds, including kayaks, mountain bikes and snowboards. You can also buy discount lift tickets to the local ski resorts. I have taken classes from some of the funniest but most intelligent professors. There are some hilarious students who attend Weber State as well. The drama and music department are very busy all year round performing on and off campus. All and all, Weber State invests a lot of money on making your experience as enjoyable as possible, and I've already had a lot more fun than I initially thought.

    Bang for the buck

Full-time tuition at Weber State is more-or-less $1,900 a semester. The inexpensiveness of Weber State had a big part in my decision to enroll. It's well worth the money. I would've spent a lot more on my Associate's Degree had I gone somewhere else.

    Tips for prospective students

    1) Talk to people! I can't stress how much easier and better a class is when you have a friend with you the entire semester through. This isn't high school - you'll be going to class with people of all ages. Everybody is a lot nicer. 2) Get involved in at least one organization. You won't regret it. I joined the Chinese Club and I'm not even Chinese, and nonetheless I've had a great time and learned quite a bit about the culture. 3) Keep a planner. Weber State issues you one during orientation, and organization is a vital key to earning good grades. 4) Keep up in class! The professors rarely accept late work, and expect a lot more out of you than the high school teachers did. 5) Don't sweat it and be persistent. The first day of college can be scary, and getting a bad grade on an exam can be especially discouraging. My English professor once told me that 2/3rds of students don't go on to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree. Do you have what it takes to be in the 1/3rd that do? You hold the ball.

Great for these types of students

There are many international/foreign exchange students who attend Weber State, and diversity is one of the most upheld values. Needless to say, it's a wide spectrum of Great for these types of students. But if you are looking for a fine mix between tight-knit classes and a medium-sized campus with something for everybody, then Weber State is for you. It's very inexpensive in comparison to other universities, so a tight-budget student will excel here. But Weber State is mainly known for two departments - nursing and drama. Nursing is the most popular degree on campus, and Weber State's drama department is award-winning. Prospective nurses, medical students and those interested in theater would do well at Weber State.

    Am learning a lot

I love the teachers here! They really try and reach out to the students and help them with what they need and beyond. By them caring and helping me out with problems or questions I have, I have learned a lot more than I expected I would. It's easy to email the teacher as all of your teachers emails are given to you. It's easy to know what assignments are due because the teachers are very clear and they give you an organized syllabus.

    Am enjoying being here

I love the way the school is set up and the whole environment. It's a beautiful campus and I love going to Weber. I currently live at home and I was given a free bus pass from Weber so I ride the buses for free to and from Weber. They also have a front runner that can take students from other cities to Ogden and they have a bus that will run them straight up to Weber State University. It's just a very convenient school for everyone.

    Bang for the buck

Weber is probably the most affordable school around. It lets basically everyone in and gives thousands of scholarships out every year! They also work with you and let you know what's out there. There are ways to get a percentage off of tuition as well! Clubs, index scores, GPA, and more will help pay for your tuition!

weber state is a great school. i love the diversity here. i have made so many wonderful friends as well!

    Tips for prospective students

apply for scholarships early. not like you'll have a problem getting them anyways, but it's good to get applications done early than to forget them.

    Academic Rigor

it depends on the classes you take, but i would say some classes are harder than others. that's an obvious statement there, but it's true. it's useful to check ratemyprofessor.com before you sign up for classes to make sure you have challenging, yet knowledgeable professors that teach great classes.

    Dorm Life

campus life is wonderful. i highly recommend university village. great atmosphere, nice apartment style dorms, and right across the street from free shuttle transportation to and from school! so you won't have to spend much money on gas.

    Food and Dining

there isn't a lot of variety, but what they do have is good. there is a university grill-type place that serves hamburgers and stuff, and there is also a hogi yogi/teriyaki stix.

    What to do for fun

bowling, billiards, football and basketball games, many social dances and fun concerts.

    Bang for the buck

wsu is great. cheaper tuition, great campus, a lot of newer buildings, not too crowded, and classroom sizes are fairly smaller than most other universities so you really get to know your classmates, as well as the professor. i feel like i am getting my money's worth- and more.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

there are a lot of lounges- places with couches and comfy chairs that you can study, or just relax in.

Great for these types of students

all types of students! commuter students, out-of-state students, everyone!!

    Clubs and Activities

there are a lot of school-sponsored activities, but not a lot of promotion for the clubs and stuff.

    Greek Life

only one sorority and one fraternity. not well represented, but that's fine because i'm not involved in the greek system.

    Campus Safety

i always feel safe on campus!

Weber State is a decent school with great class sizes and likable teachers. In my experience, the teachers are personable enough to work with students and the small class sizes make that possible. Although the school is inexpensive, I wouldn't rate my education as cheap because the quality of my learning experience has been above average.

    Tips for prospective students

For anyone that is looking at becoming a student at Weber State University, I highly recommend it. The class sizes and cost make the college a great choice.

    Academic Rigor

In my experience, all of my teachers hold a very high standard to each of their students. Most teachers require at least a 93% for an A with a majority of the grade being based on tests alone.

    Dorm Life

I didn't live on campus, but all of my friends that did really loved it. Weber State just installed a new dorm building so the quality is very nice.

    Food and Dining

I don't have a meal plan through Weber State University.

    What to do for fun

There are always games, dances, and activities that are posted all over the campus that any student can attend.

    Bang for the buck

Weber State is one of the most inexpensive schools both in Utah and nationwide, but the quality of living is still very great.

I have loved every class I've taken. Each professor is interesting, easy to listen to and contact.

    Am enjoying being here

My classmates are easy going, my professors are always ready to listen.

    Bang for the buck

The quality of education that I have here at Weber State is so much higher than my friends who attend other nearby colleges. The perks of being a student here are amazing. Bus passes, computer and software discounts, no matter what it is- its better at Weber!

    Tips for prospective students

Figure out where your classes are before the first day. Explore the campus - find the study spots (The third floor of Elizabeth Hall is wonderful). Take a fun class every semester whether its bowling, tap dancing, or art history. Having a class you are interested in keeps you motivated through the semester.

    Am learning a lot

I absolutely love my classes at Weber State. I have learned so much in the three semesters that I have been here. The class sizes are perfect! I feel like everyone gets the one-on-one time that they need in order to do well in the class. All of my professors know me by name and I feel very comfortable asking them questions. It is definitely a great learning environment.

    Am enjoying being here

The campus is fantastic! It really is a beautiful place with a lot of cool things to do and see. There is something for everyone! Weber has teams and clubs for all interests. It also has a lot of cool classes. Last semester, I took a jogging class and a rock climbing class. I had a blast, learned a lot, and made a lot of new friends!

    Bang for the buck

I feel like the student fees and tuition seem to go a long way. Each student gets an Ed pass with their enrollment. This pass allows them to travel on the public transportation system (UTA) for free. I have used that a ton. The computer labs at the school are very up to date and are very convenient. There are quite a few activities that go on at the school that are free because of student fees. The buildings that the classrooms are in are really nice and well kept. The campus is beautiful. The education itself is really great! I have learned a lot here. I would say that you do get a bang for your buck.

    Tips for prospective students

Look for opportunities to get involved! This is a great way to meet people and to enrich your experience at Weber State. Find something you are interested in and go for it!

Great for these types of students

I think that there is something for everyone at Weber. It's great for people that are looking for a more personal one-on-one educational experience in the classroom.

The professors are great and always helpful. A lot of the class you get out what you put into them. Study, and you'll be fine.

    Am enjoying being here

They really have the most clubs ever. If you like something, they probably have a club for it. Get involved!

    Bang for the buck

I feel like the tuition is a good price, especially for being an undergrad. A lot of people want to go to bigger and better schools, but there really is no reason to at first. Weber offers just as good of classes as the U does. It's just personal preference if you want to pay more or not.

    Tips for prospective students

Come see if it's for you beforehand! I thought I would be bummed because I have to commute up to school, but it really is fine living at home. You can still get involved no matter where you live! Anywhere you go though, get involved. College is so much better if you are.

There are a lot of different degrees that are available which helps those who come to see what is out there.

    Bang for the buck

Weber State is pretty inexpensive compared to a lot of other schools. The majority of students commute to school and it tends to save them money by using their free bus pass through Weber State. Or by commuting with friends.

    Tips for prospective students

I think it's important to get to know people in your classes. I think it's also important to be organized and on time.

    Am learning a lot

I really learn a lot in my classes. The teachers teach at a rate that everyone can keep up with, and they teach the material in a way that is easy to understand. If anyone has questions, they can feel free to ask the teachers.

    Am enjoying being here

I really enjoy my classes and the people in them. I also enjoy walking around the campus on nice days and sometimes feed the ducks at the pond. When I first started school here, I knew very few people here, but now I've made friends and see more people I know.

    Bang for the buck

When you get accepted to Weber, they automatically sign you up for any academic scholarships you qualify for. I got a scholarship that paid for half of my tuition. I also filled out FAFSA and got a pell grant that paid for the other half of tuition.

    Tips for prospective students

Visit campus and find where your classes will be before the semester starts so you don't get lost your first week. Also, finding parking during the semester is very difficult and you need a parking permit. You can get a free UTA Bus Pass with your Wildcard and I found taking the bus to be much more convenient than driving. Also, there are lots of hills and stairs, so be prepared for that.

Great for these types of students

It's a great school for anyone and everyone. There are many different classes and clubs, you can even make your own clubs. There are lots of things you can do.
