As a freshmen, I was worried about the transition - Don't be. Providence makes everything as easy as it can be, and there are plenty of resources (Orientation Leaders, Resident Assistants, ect) that are able to help you. There are plenty of activities on weekends and weeknights, such as trivia nights, bingo (it's a lot more intense than you think... and for prizes!), and group trips to popular restaurants such as the Cheesecake Factory. The college is in an excellent location, and the school itself is beautiful with diverse, interesting students. The Slavin Center is brand new and features a gorgeous gym that overlooks the lawn, as well as the P.C Perk, a hangout spot where you can grab a coffee and relax with friends. read full review

Every freshman and sophomore has to take the Development of Western Civilization (or civ) corse, which is pretty intense (class meets every day and it has more weight on your GPA than any other class). Anyway, on everyone takes the civ final exam in the same day, always a monday before all other exams. The night before campus goes crazy in an event called Civ Scream. As much as the administration hates it it cannot be stopped. Streaking, flaming towels and fireworks are all to be expected, but don't worry, no one gets hurt! read full review
