Don't be afraid to get involved and make friends! When I was visiting A&M, I stayed with a friend and really got to know A&M from a different persective than from school-sponsored tours or college websites. Sometimes if you really want to get to know the face of a school, you have to travel off the beaten path. I don't regret one moment, because I loved the overall camaraderie of the school---they don't call it the friendliest campus in America without reason! And even though the traditions might seem a little strange, it's fun to do them with thousands of other people, whether it's standing at a football game yelling at the other team, or honoring the fallen at an amazing Silver Taps. I strongly encourage you to arrange a visit and stay in the on-campus housing with some students and get them to show you around. It's an experience you won't forget! read full review
