CSEM Scholarship Information

Scholarship Description
The Department of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science at the University of La Verne has been awarded a $400,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for dissemination of scholarships to qualified students majoring in mathematics or computer science. This grant is a part of the Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship program (CSEMS). Approximately 30 grants of up to $3125 will be disbursed each year. Criteria for Scholarship Recipients : 1. 3.0 GPA or above. 2. Declaration of a major in Computer Science or Mathematics. 3. Current enrollment in a major course. 4. Full time student status. 5. Recommendation letter addressing academic potential from a H.S. teacher or counselor (for new students), or a professor (for current students). 6. Evidence of community service. Conditions for Renewal 1. 3.0 GPA or above. 2. Declaration of a major in Computer Science or Mathematics. 3. Current enrollment in a major course. 4. Full time student status. 5. Demonstration of satisfactory academic progress, especially in the student's major. 6. Evidence of community service and/or professional growth. 7. Endorsement by the Principal Investigator (Dr. Liu) and department faculty.
