President Emeritus Michael J. Adanti Endowment
- Scholarship Description
- The scholarship recipient must be a full-time undergraduate as defined by the University. The recipient must be a member of a Men's varsity football team. The student must be of high academic standing. The President Emeritus Michael J. Adanti Endowment Fund was established with the SCSU Foundation upon his retirement in June 2003. Michael Adanti was a: co- captain of the 1962 football team, playing center and linebacker, and later served as an assistant football coach at the _University of Bridgeport and at Southern. During his presidency, enrollment surged, the largest capital construction program in the university's history was begun, and a new doctorate in education was initiated. Other new academic initiatives, prestigious ,awards for faculty and students and national honors for Southern sports teams also highlighted Mr. Adanti's tenure and brought the University increasing regional recognition for excellence in higher education.
