Dr. Hilton C. Buley Memorial Scholarship Fund

Scholarship Description
The Dr. Hilton C. Buley Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Dr. th Buley's 75 birthday on December 15, 1978. Dr. Buley guided Southern through an era of its largest and most dynamic advancement in academic growth and physical plant development during his presidency from 1954 to 1971. Total enrollment expanded from 1,000 to 11,000 students while he was leading the relocation to SCSU's present campus. When Dr. Buley retired in 1971, the campus had grown to 17 buildings spread out over 148 acres. The student(s) must be a full time undergraduate student as defined by the University. The student recipient( s) must be of high academic standing. The student(s) must demonstrate leadership and service to the University and/or community.
