The Catherine L. O'Brien John Carroll Scholarships
- Scholarship Description
- As strong benefactors and loyal advocates of their alma mater, Roger and Judy Read have supported many areas of The University of Akron. For the Read’s, students are a priority. The Roger T. and Judith A. Read Endowed Scholarship in Business Administration is the third scholarship award they have established at the University. Roger has a long history of involvement with the CBA. He graduated from the college with a B.S. in Management in 1963 and an MBA in 1966. In 1989 he received the college’s highest honor, the Dr. Frank L. Simonetti Award. He is a current member and past Chairman of the CBA Advancement Council. The Reads established this scholarship to support juniors and seniors in the CBA who have maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 in their collegiate studies. Selection of recipients is determined by the CBA Scholarship Committee.
