The Huntingdon Woman's Guild of Savannah has established a Fund with The Savannah Foundation, Inc., the community foundation serving southeast Georgia. One of the purposes of The Huntingdon Woman's Guild Fund is to provide scholarships for female students from Bryan, Effingham, Liberty and Chatham Counties, to attend any accredited public, private, or technical educational institution within the state of Georgia. Two $ 1,000.00 scholarships for the coming academic year will be awarded based on merit and/or need. The award is available to graduates of area high schools, college students currently enrolled and pursuing higher education, and older adults desirous of pursuing additional education. Applicants must meet entrance requirements of their chosen institution or be currently enrolled and in good academic standing. Funds are granted for tuition, textbooks, and other academic expenses charged by the institution. In the unlikely event all such expenses have been covered from other sources, the institution will be requested to return the funds to The Savannah Foundation. Disbursement will be made in equal semester or quarterly installments, contingent on continued enrollment and good academic standing at an institution in Georgia. New or current applicants and former recipients must submit complete and updated applications by April 15th. All applications received by the deadline will be reviewed by a selection committee. Finalists may be called for a personal interview. Applicants who have applied for or will be receiving other financial support should reveal that information and include it with this application.
