Scholarship Description
The Kay Jones Honors College Nursing Scholarship is established at The University of Texas at Arlington through a gift from George and Sandra Campbell. This scholarship is given in honor of Ms. Kay Jones, a cardiac nurse, whose commitment to and nurturing of her patients is a model of professionalism and dedication for all students who join her in a nursing career. Eligibility Requirements: Junior-level Nursing students Exceptions and Limitations: Award Amount: $500 per year Number of Awards: 1 student (2 given if funds are available) Other Information: Student must have good standing in Nursing and in the Honors College. Activities of the applicant such as internships, volunteer activities, awards, and other indications of academic excellence, 3.25 overall GPA with particular emphasis upon coursework related to Nursing. Additional required materials: 1) Two recommendation letters; 2) a one-page essay that discusses your academic, personal and professional goals and why you should be considered for the Kay Jones Honors College Nursing Scholarship.
